Well, let’s lift our hands to the Most High God and bless His Holy Name. Let’s give Him Glory, let’s give Him Honour, let’s give Him Adoration. Praise the King of Kings, Praise the Lord of Lords, bless the Ancient of Days. He is Worthy to be Praised, Worthy to be Adored and Worthy to be Lifted High.

Thank You Father. In Jesus Mighty Name we have Worshipped – Amen.

Jehovah, the Man of War
His Mercy endureth Forever and Ever
Oh Praise His Holy Name

OPENING PRAYER

God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Jacob; the Mighty Man in Battle, the Man who has not lost a War.

We Worship You Lord, we bless Your Holy Name for All You have done in our lives since the last time that we met here. Thank You for bringing us back here again. Father, accept our Worship in Jesus Name.

This Evening Almighty God, Please do something You have never done before, give us Miracles You have never given us before, fight our Battles for us and give everyone of us Complete Vuctory.

In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.

Well, let Someone shout Hallelujah – Hallelujah!

The last time that we were here some years ago, we didn’t know that it will be this long before we returned but God knew.

Today, we are here again, and only God knows when next we will meet – It might be next year (2024), it might be years again. But tomorrow belongs to God.

One thing however is certain – We are here today! And I’m trusting God that before we leave here today, you will be singing a New Song.

Psalms 118:14 – The LORD is my Strength and Song, and is become my Salvation.

We will just look at this Bible Passage and do a little Bible Study.

And I’m believing God that as we Study His Words, the Bible says that He sent His Words and His Words healed them and delivered them from all their Destructions.

I’m Praying that by the time the Sicks are leaving this Ground today, they will be healed; by the time the Captives are leaving here, they will be Free.

The Sick will be going away singing: I am healed; the Blind will be singing: Now, I can see; the Captive will be singing: I am Free and the one who has been failing all these years will say: Praise God, I will fail no more.

We want to just define our Theme – The Lord is my Strength and Song.

I. Who is the Lord? – We will discuss this briefly.

II. “Is” not “Was” – That is now.

III. “My” – He didn’t say “Our”.

IV. What is Strength?

V. What is a Song?

We will look at each of them quickly and at the end of it, by the Grace of God we will be Singing!

1. Now, who is the Lord?

The Lord who we are talking of here is Someone who is Noted for Fighting and Winning.

Psalms 24: 7-10 says: Lift Up your Head O ye Gates, be lifted up ye Everlasting Door and the King of Glory might come in.

Who is this King of Glory?

The Lord Strong and Mighty, the Lord Mighty in Battle.

So, you can see straightaway – The Lord we are talking about is the One who is Noted for Strength and Might!

And at the end, He is called: “The Lord of Host”.

So, when I was told that this is our Theme for this Year (2023); I said that it means that Somebody is heading for Victory – Amen!

So, if you are the one, who will never be defeated again, let me hear you shout Hallelujah – Hallelujah!

2. “He Is” means – The One who is called the “Ever Present Help” in Trouble – Psalms 46:1.

We are here today, therefore because there is Someone who is in “Urgent Need” of Victory.

I don’t know who the Fellow is but whoever that Fellow is – Ha, for you that this Meeting has been organised; your Victory is not going to wait till tomorrow – Amen!

It didn’t say that the Lord “Will Be”; it says the Lord “Is” – Right now here at this very moment.

3. “My” not “Our” – In other words, it is telling us that today we want to look at the fact that the Lord can be “Very Individual” in His Approach.

When He is talking to a Congregation, no matter how large; He will still address Himself to an Individual.

I. For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son; that whosoever (In other words, the Love is for everyone). But the Love will manifest through an Individual.

II. Behold I Stand by the Door and I knock. If any Man will hear my Voice – He didn’t say: If Men will hear; if Women will hear.

And even right now, I am sure that Somebody is beginning to feel – I believe that tonight is for me. And I can assure you that you will not be disappointed (Amen).

We will spend Quality Time on “My Strength” and “My Song”.

4. “My Strength” – What is Strength?

In a very Simple Language – Not in the Language that only Academician understands but in the Language that even the Market Women can understand.

Strength is the ability to get things done – Including: Winning in Competition, Winnimg in Battle, and believe it or not, Winning in Examinations.

Because if there is a Student who is constantly losing, constantly failing; we will say that he is “Weak Mentally”. If there is Someone who is always scoring High Marks; we will say that he is “Strong Mentally”.

The Lord is “My Strength” – The One who gives me ability to get things done.

Philippians 4:13 says: I can do All Things through Christ who Strengthens me. I can achieve anything, I can reach all Goals because there is Somebody who is Supplying Strength.

In Judges 16: 4-5 – When the Philistines saw a Single Man killing a thousand Soldiers with a Jawbone of an Ass; they say that this is not “Ordinary Strength”; we must find out the Secret of his Strength if we are ever going to defeat him.

I decree in the Name that is above every other name; the Enemies will never find out the Secret of your Strength – Amen!

Now, He is my Strength – How do I get this Strength from the One who Himself is the Lord Strong and Mighty?

I. I can get Strength from His Joy.

Nehemiah 8:10 says: The Joy of the Lord is your Strength.

Oh, how then do I get the Joy of the Lord?

Fortunately, according to John 16:24 – You can get the Joy by asking.

He said that up till now, you haven’t asked me for anything, ask till your Joy be Full.

You know, there is one word that expresses that you have the Joy of the Lord – That word is called: Hallelujah!

You have never seen a Student, no matter how Religious he may be; who will go to the Board where they pasted the Provincial Results and can’t see his/her name among the Successful People, who will turn round and shout Hallelujah. You will never found one.

But if you go to check the Results and among the First Class, the first name is your name, you won’t shout quietly but loudly Hallelujah!

I remembered very clearly the day I had my first Grandson. It was in London, my Daughter-in-law had been taken to the Hospital around 2am because she was in Labour. And then around 7am, I got a Phone Call that she has delivered and it is a baby boy.

From my house to the Hospital; every Whiteman that I met, I smiled at them and say: Hallelujah, I have gotten a Grandson. Even they were compelled to smile with me.

Is there anybody here or reading now on the Label of DMC; who is going to demomstrate to the devil: I have Joy – Hallelujah!

You know, People have asked the Question: How could a shout bring down the Wall of Jericho? It is because there is Strength in Joy. And you can’t be Joyful and keep quiet (Not Possible).

So, I’m decreeing to Someone here today or as you read on the Label of DMC – Every Walls that the Enemies has built round you is going to fall and all you have to do is to let the Enemies know that: I have the Joy of the Lord!

II. I can get Strength from His Name.

In 1 Samuel 17: 42-51 – When Goliath was boasting about His Strength and so he saw “Little David” coming with a sling in his hand.

He said: What is going on here? Am I a dog? Am I Dreaming? Look at this “Tiny Thing” coming to fight me. Can’t he see my size, sword, shield? My shield is so big that I needed somebody to carry it. He said that you are finished – I’m going to sacrifice you to the birds of the Air et cetera et cetera.

David allowed him to finished boasting – He said that I know that you have come against me with all manners of weapons but I am coming against you in the Name of Jesus.

Students, Lecturers, Professors; may not know it but there might be Enemies from the fathers side; Enemies from the mother’s side; Enemies from the In-Law’s side saying that you are going to the University? We will see what you will bring back!

But there is a Name that is above every other name – The Name of Jesus!

A Name according to Philippians 2: 9-11 – A Name that is above every other name; a Name at the mention of which all knees must bow.

In 1979, at Abusi Odumare Grammar School in Ijebu Igbo (A Town in Ogun State); we had a Program and somebody came to the Program.

When he was going Abroad, gained Admission to go and study; the father threw a Party and invited Relatives. And someone (A Relative) among those invited said: Hey, the son of so and so is going Abroad to study. By the time he returns, he will buy a car and this fellow that we used to drink Palm Wine together will now be riding and throwing dust at our faces. He said alright, I will give him something to carry along.

This fellow went Abroad, spent six (6) years there, he was doing fine and he ended up with a PhD. But from the day he arrived, he was having pain in his stomach.

Because you know over there, there is a lot of good Doctors – They conducted every Tests and they couldn’t find anything. So, they told him – We think that you are Psychogenic (Imagining the pain).

DMC NOTES: Psychogenic pain occurs when your pain is related to underlying psychological, emotional, or behavioral factors.

The fellow said: Imagining the pain? I can show you where the pain is if I have the ability to remove it.

They said that we have done Xray, we have done whatever MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and there is nothing wrong with you sir. But they kept on giving him pain killers.

And then he came back, he was a Lecturer at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and then he heard that we were holding this Program and he decided to come.

And the devil knew that the Program was meant for him, it took him three (3) days to arrive with all manners of obstacles on his way.

He arrived just when we were about to round up. And the Word of God was going forth as it is going forth this Evening. And suddenly we heard somebody shouted – It is gone! Because the pain disappeared.

Whatever the Enemies has Planted into your body; every Plants that God has not planted in you; shall be uprooted today – Amen.

You know in Acts 3: 1-8 – In the Story of that man who was born Lame, who has been stagnant from the very first day he was born; Peter used one Name when the man looked up to Peter and John asking for alms. He said that Silver and Gold I have none but what I have I give you – In the Name of Jesus!

I have Good News for those of you who has been stagnant all these years, I have been there even as an Academician before.

I had seen People who lectured me when I was Preparing for my MSc and they left for futher studies abroad, spent “Donkey Years” there, came back to meet me in the same University to find out that now, I have finished my MSc, I have gone to teach for years, came back to the University, finished my PhD and now I have been Promoted steadily and have become a Senior Lecturer. They came back and they were still not Senior Lecturer.

Whatever may have been causing stagnation in your Life, as you shout the Name of Jesus Christ today, I hereby decree that your stagnation is over – Amen!

III. Consider my Strength from His Blood.

Because there is enough Strength in His Blood to conquer even satan himself. According to Revelation 12: 10-11; when you are talking of Enemies (Witches and Wizards) but they are all under their “Big Master” satan himself.

And the Bible says that they overcame the devil by the Blood of the Lamb.

Now, why is there so much Power, so much Strength in His Blood?

It is because according to Numbers 17:14; the very Life of an individual is in the Blood. The very Life of the Lord is in His Blood.

And for you as a Child of God, you gain Strength from that Blood because Isaiah 59: 1-2 tells us that the Hand of the Lord is not shortened that it cannot safe; neither is His Ear deaf that He can’t hear; but sin can stand between you and the tremendous Power or Strength that is in God Himself.

How in 1 John 1:7; the Bible tells us that the Blood of Jesus cleanses from all sins.

The Blood removes the barrier between you and the Mighty Power and Strength that is in the Life of God Himself.

If you see a Piece of wire carrying Electricity – They call it “Live Wire”; don’t dare touch it with ordinary hand because of you do, you won’t be around to tell the Story.

But if you wrap a piece of rubber round it – They call it Insulator. It doesn’t matter how much Strength is in that wire, a little child can play with it because an Insulator will not allow contact with the Power that is there.

I’m Praying for those of you who are not yet Born Again that you will be Born Again today because until your sins are washed away, you are Insulated from the Power that is in the Almighty God Himself.

And for those of you who are already “True Children” of the Almighty God, today, the Blood is going to give you Victory – Amen!

There is a funny Story that happened some years ago – A husband will put his money somewhere in the house, when he goes to check the money, the money will be gone. The wife will put her money somewhere, when she goes to check the money, the money will be gone.

The husband was hesitant to call the wife a thief but the wife says: What is going on here? One day, she confronted the husband – You are the one who gave me the money for housekeeping and then behind me, you go and steal it.

And the husband said: Àìtètè mólè, olè ń mú olóko (DMC NOTES: The untimely arrest of the thief, makes the thief to arrest the owner/farmer)

Because I was slow in accusing you of stealing, you are now accusing me.

The Point was that the husband used to be a Member of a Secret Society before he gave his Life to Jesus Christ and then one demon or the other was assigned to take care of his Finances.

When they told me the Story, I said that the matter is simple – Next time you are going to keep your money somewhere, just say: Money, I cover you in the Blood of the Lamb. And they discovered that Nobody was stealing their money anymore.

Any evil force that is secretly stealing anything at all from you, from today onwards by the Blood of the Lamb, they will be rendered completely Powerless – Amen!

IV. I can derive Strength from His Word.

Why? Psalms 119:89 says: Forever Oh Lord, thy Word is Settled.

And when God says something is settled, then it means that it is settled – Even satan can’t argue with the Word of God

That is why you find in Matthew 4: 1-11 – When Jesus Christ had to fight satan after Fasting for forty (40) days and forty (40) nights; the only weapon He could use was the Word of God. He couldn’t use His Blood because it was not shed yet; He couldn’t use His Name because He was yet to get the Name above every other name but He used the Word.

Each time that satan said do this; He will say it is written; do that, it is written.

In Psalms 118:17; it is written I shall not die but live.

That Passage that I quoted was what saved me right back in 1981 – I had just became General Overseer. We had the Headquarters Parish and thirty nine (39) other Parishes and so I decided to do a familiarisation Call as the New General Overseer.

And so, I was visiting the Churches one by one and of course; everybody wanted to show Love for the New General Overseer – Oh the Churches were small but they can shout and they can be Hospitable.

Finally, it was my turn to visit Ifewara (My Hometown) and I was coming from Lagos. And all of a sudden, I heard the devil speaking using an African Proverbs: Ká kú ló̧mo̧dé, ká fȩşin şe ìrȩ́lȩ̀ ȩni, o sàn ju ká dàgbà ká má ládìyȩ ìrànà. Ikú tó bá ni lȩ́mò̧şó̧, ȩ̀yȩ ni (DMC NOTES: To die as a youthful hero, with a horse as sacrifice, is better than dying old without a hen as sacrifice. A dignifying youthful death is honourable)

So, he said to me: You are very Popular now, if you die oh you will be highly Celebrated.

And this Passage came out of me and I said: No, I shall not die but live and declare the works of God.

Do you know that less than 5 mins later, my driver fell asleep and I mean completely asleep at a very dangerous section of the road.

Thank God that I have learnt somehow from the Past that if a driver is sleeping, don’t wake him by force – Just do it very gently.

So, I just said to my driver: Pele o, e ku ise o (DMC NOTES: Well done and thank you for a job well done).

Even when he came out of sleep gently, he still swerved and we were heading straight into a big ditch. If we had fallen into that ditch, they won’t even have found us for days (DMC NOTES: Swerve means to turn aside abruptly from a straight line or course).

He said that I was Popular in 1981 – General Overseer of forty (40) Churches, compared with what God had done now.

I decree in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ that it is written: You will not die, you will live – Amen!

Allow me to Decree that: You will be far, far greater than you are now – Amen!

V. I can derive my Strength from His Love.

I will talk briefly on this because if the Lord tarries, the Holy Ghost Service of February 2023 is going to be focusing on His Love.

Romans 8:37 tells us one thing – We are More Than Conqueror through Him that loves us.

Just the fact that He loves you, makes you More Than a Conqueror.

He said in Isaiah 54:15 – He said that they may surely gather – Surely, you will have Enemies.

I mean you know the Story of Bartimaeus – He was a beggar, he was blind but he still had Enemies. Because the day he was crying to Jesus Christ for Mercy, that was the day he discovered that: Is that so? You mean I have so many Enemies? They told him to shut up his mouth.

Help was Passing by, he wasn’t begging them for money; he was begging the One who can solve his Problem for Mercy but they told him to shut up his mouth.

Thank God that God heard him before they could keep him quiet – And God will hear you today (Amen).

It says that they may gather together against you but for your sake, those who gather together against you shall be scattered.

There was this Man – Because he was a Christian, he was doing very well, the Enemies ganged up against him and decided to sack him. So they Plotted against him.

They went to the Chairman of the Company – Because the Country is hard, Financially things are not as good as they should be; we have decided to Downsize. So, the following People will be asked to go. And they put the name of this my son somewhere at the bottom.

And the Chairman looked through the List – Okay, this fellow is going, alright; that one and he kept looking till he got to this Child of God and said: Why this fellow?

They said that we feel that in his Category, we had enough People and so let us allow him to go.

And the Chairman said: If you have enough People in his Category, what about the Category that is higher Up? He said: Put him up here.

They had already given him a Letter of Dismissal at the weekend. He came to the Holy Ghost Service with the Letter in his hand and the Lord spoke that there is someone here, you have just been sacked. Don’t worry, you are going to be Promoted.

He got to the Office on Monday and instead of having to pack out, they gave him a New Letter of Promotion.

Why? Because God loves him!

That same God is here today and I know that he loves somebody. If you are the one, get ready for Promotion – Amen.

Now, the Bible tells us that Strength can be renewed by Prayer.

Isaiah 40: 28-31 – It tells us that this Lord that we are talking about is never tired, He doesn’t get weary, He doesn’t need to sleep and when He sees somebody whose Strength is failing, He is the One who will supply Strength.

Then He went on to say that they that wait upon this Lord shall renew their Strength. And they will just discovered that they moved from Walking to Running and then to Flying.

I have Good News for you – I don’t know the next time we are going to meet but by the next time we meet, your Testimony will be: God has been moving me from Glory to Glory – Amen!

5. Let us move on to “My Song”.

Man is a Singer – God created man to sing. At least Particularly in this Part of the world, we loved singing and we have a Song for every situation.

I. You are dedicating a House, we have a Song for that.

II. You just got a baby, we have a Song for that.

III. Somebody just died, you have a Song. Before the burial, after the burial, when the Party begins; the Song changes to another type of Song.

IV. We have Songs for Joy, Songs for Sorrow, Songs for getting married.

And the same is also true for Christians – If you listen to the Song of a Christian, you can tell what situation he/she is passing through.

I. If a Christian has just lost a battle, he will sing:

We will Overcome
We will Overcome
We will Overcome some day
Deep in my Heart, I do believe
We will Overcome some day

Proverbs 24:16; the Bible says that a “Just Man” may fall seven (7) times, he will rise again.

Those of you who have just been failing; you will be able to sing a New Song today – Amen!

II. If a Christian has just won a battle, the Song will change:

Now that the battle is over
Now that the battle is over
Now that the battle is over
I am More Than a Conqueror

… That will be your Song!

Because in Exodus 15: 1-11; when the children of Israel had crossed the Red Sea; the Bible said that they sang a Song of Moses.

If you look at that Passage, you will see so many Songs that we sing nowadays there.

III. Now, when the battle is raging – If a Christian is in the midst of a “Terrible Battle”; we also sing a Kind of Song.

And you begin to hear a Christian sing:

In Jesus Name, every knees shall bow
In Jesus Name, every knees shall bow

When you hear them sing:

He is a Mighty God
He is a Mighty God
Jesus is a Mighty God
All Power belong to Him
He is a Mighty God
Goliath bow before Him
He is a Mighty God

If you are a boss and one of your worker is singing that same Song above, you better found out who is the Goliath he is talking about.

We had a Househelp years ago and during our morning Devotion in my family, we asked everybody to make Chorus suggestion. And this girl is always singing the same Song:

Alagbara ni Olorun wa (Our God is a Mighty God)
Alagbara ni Olorun wa (Our God is a Mighty God)
Ina jo, Igbe orun (The bush is burning, the bush is not consumed)
Alagbara ni Olorun wa (Our God is a Mighty God)

One day, it just occurred to me – Which bush is burning? And so I called her aside: Tell me your Story? What is the Problem?

And she said that she was a very “Brilliant Girl” but Problem came, the family lost everything and so she couldn’t go to School again. So, she is doing Househelp so as to make some money and even feeding the family. And the Parents are owing heavily.

Okay, how much are they owing? She told me and we gave her the money for her to Pay. And told her that if you still want to come back, you can come so that we can arrange for you to go to School here.

Suddenly, her Song changed – Next time that we asked her to give a Chorus, she sang:

He has done it for me
He has done it for me
What my father cannot do
He has done it for me

Let me Close with this – Psalms 40: 1-4; it tells us the Story of a Man who was in deep trouble. He was in a Pit and the Pit was made up of Miry Clay – The more he struggles to get out, the more entangled he became in Problem.

Then he said that I cried to God and He heard me and He brought me out of the Miry Clay, He sets my feet on the Rock to stay and He put a New Song in my mouth.

You know one of the things that happened to you when you surrendered your Life to Jesus Christ; when according to 2 Corinthians 5:17; it says: Therefore, if any Man be in Christ, he is a New Creature; Old things are passed away, behold all things are become New!

One of the things that could become New is your Song – You sing differently no doubt about that.

There is Nobody who can be Genuinely Born Again, who will not testify to the fact that you will just wake up in the night, that for no reason at all; you just feel like singing a New Song of Victory:

I. I was sick, now I’m healed.

II. I was blind, now I see.

III. I was bound, now I’m Free.

We all know that I am a Native of Ifewara (Osun State Nigeria) and it is not too far from here (Ile Ife, Osun State Nigeria).

In 1960, I was in my Final Year at Ilesha Grammar School, Ilesha Osun State Nigeria, and there was Politics going on – The Politics that was to lead to Independence (New Nigerian Rulers, taking over from the Britons).

And there was two (2) Political Parties – Action Group (AG) and National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons (NCNC). And the Principal of Ilesha Grammar School then belongs to Action Group (AG) and majority of the People in my Village belongs to National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons (NCNC).

So they called for a Meeting in my Compound one day to be sure that everybody will vote for National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons (NCNC) and my father said: Please, allow me to vote for Action Group (AG) and they said why? The Principal is a Member of Action Group (AG); if he hears that I belong to National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons (NCNC), the trouble will be on my son.

And in those days, the Principal was almost like a god – If you are rusticated from a Secondary School, the only way you can ever get into another one is to go and take another Entrance Examination.

So, my father said: Just one year, after my son has finished then anything that you want me to be, I will be.

And they said to him: So, it is because of your son that you will not join our Party? They said to him: We will see how Old the boy will be before he dies!

My father came back home, told my mother what they said at the Meeting. That very night, I became an IDP (DMC NOTES: “IDP” means Internally Displaced Persons).

I ran because in those days, if they say that they want to use you for Breakfast, then they will use you for Breakfast.

Thank God for Jesus – We were small but we were tough.

For thirteen (13) years, I couldn’t come back home; but then I met Jesus Christ and then:

I. I knew that Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.

II. And I knew that I am More Than a Conqueror through Him that loves me

III. I knew that no weapon fashioned against me shall Prosper.

… I discovered so many things!

In those days, if you want to sneak into Town, if they see you coming – Ha, you are Welcome. When are you going? You will say I just came in and will stay for one week. And within an hour, you are out.

Now, when I want to go to Ifewara, an Helicopter will announce my arrival and Witches and Wizards when they heard that he is coming, they go to the farm.

I used to run from the devil before but now by the Special Grace of God, the devil runs from me.

I’m sharing this with you to let you know that if you don’t have Jesus Christ dwelling in you; you are in danger.

But the moment that He is in you, you can sing a New Song!

He says: The Lord is my Strength and Song and He has become my Salvation!

… Everything is hooked round Salvation!

ALTAR CALL

So, I’m appealing to those of you who has not given your Life to Jesus Christ or you have been Pretending that you know Him but you know that He is not dwelling in you.

Because if He is dwelling in you, you will hate sin, your Song will change, Holiness will become one of your Theme Songs.

Those of you who want to sincerely surrender your Life to Jesus Christ, Please come. Let us Pray for your Salvation and then we will Pray some very “Serious Prayers”.

Now, those of us already infront and those of us on the way, cry unto Jesus – Tell Him: Please save my Soul, make me a Brand New Creature in You, I want You to come and dwell in me and I will serve You for the rest of my Life. I want to leave this Place today singing a New Song that I have been Born Again and a True Child of the Living God.

My Father and my God, I want to bless Your Holy Name.

I want to Thank You very, very much for Your Words today and I want to Thank You for these Your Children who has come forward to surrender their lives to You.

Father, receive them in Jesus Name, have Mercy on them in Jesus Name, let Your Blood wash away their sins, save their Souls Lord and receive them into the Family of God. From now on, anytime they cry to You, answer them by Fire; become their Strength, become their Song, become their Salvation.

And I Pray Lord God Almighty that they will serve you forever.

3. The worst thing that can ever happened to a Man is to be an Ex-Champion. I had been a Boxer before and I knew that when a Champion is defeated, for days he doesn’t want to be seen in Public because of the shame.

You are going to cry to God and say: Father, let my Victory be Permanent – Don’t let me be an Ex-Champion. Go ahead and cry to the Almighty God.
