OPENING PRAYER
King of Kings and Lord of Lords; the Ancient of Days; the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; the Unchangeable Changer – We Worship You.
We Thank You for the Salvation of our Souls, we Thank You for the Power that has kept us in Your Love, we Thank You for Your Mercy that endures forever. Please, accept our Worship in Jesus Name.
Our Father and our God, today as we Your Children gather again today at Your Feet to Study; Please send Your Word and let Your Word heal us – Let the Word heal us Physically, heal us Mentally, heal us Spiritually.
And Please Lord, let our tomorrow be alright.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen!
Praise God – Hallelujah!
You may shake hands with one (1) or two (2) People and say: God Day, God Bless You!
And then we will go on with our Study on: “For Whom The Heavens Open” as we go on to Part 17; using Joshua as another Example!
Our Bible Text remains:
Joshua 5:13-15:
- AND. it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?
- ]And he said, Nay; but as Captain of the Host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the Earth, and did Worship, and said unto him, What saith my Lord unto his Servant?
- And the Captain of the LORD’S Host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the Place whereon thou standest is Holy. And Joshua did so.
Now, we have looked at this Passage for a Couple of weeks now:
- We have learnt from this Passage that Angels are in Categories – We have learnt that we have Seraphims, Cherubims, Arch Angels etc.
- We have learnt from the Passage that Joshua saw a Man with a Sword drawn in his hand and he approached him to ask him that: Are you for us or against us.
I. That as Christians, we are not supposed to run from our enemies but we are to move forward and challenge them.
II. That we had no Protection for our back in the Whole Armour of God because the Almighty God does not expect us to turn our back to our Enemies.
- We have learnt that our God is:
I. The Original General – That when He is fighting by Land, He doesn’t just destroy His Enemies, He does the burying at the same time.
II. That He is the Original Full Admiral by Sea – That when He decides to drown His Enemies, He will make sure that there is enough fish to finish them all.
III. That He is the Full Air Marshall – That when He fights by Air, that as a matter of fact; He is the Original One to throw bombs.
- We have learnt that if He is fighting with you, you can’t lose – Like when He was fighting with David against Goliath. That it was David who won!
- We have learnt that if He is fighting for you, you will win without a fight – That He makes us More Than a Conqueror.
- We have learnt that when God is on yoir side, you win Physical battles, you win Financial battles, you win Marital battles, you win Emotionally battles, you win Spiritual battles et cetera et cetera.
But we have to tell you the whole Story – We must Present to you the Complete Picture!
What happens if He fights against you?
Because He can fight by !and, He can fight by Sea and He can fight by Air – And so, you need to know what happens if He fights against you so that you will make sure that you do everything Possible and you don’t find yourself in a situation where God is fighting against you.
- That you will remember that you are the “Dust of the Earth”.
Genesis 2:7 says: God formed Man from the dust of the Earth.
Remember that He can fight by Land!
I. That simply means that He has Control over the Dust of the Land.
II. That your Flesh is formed from the Earth.
So, if He chooses to fight you by the Land as it were; your flesh that comes from the Earth will respond rapidly to His Command.
For Example in 2 Kings 5: 20-27; when He choose to fight Gehazi for lying against the Holy Ghost Carrier.
When the Man of God Cursed him; very rapidly the very moment the word came from the Man of God that the Leprosy of Naaman will cleave unto him, the Bible says instantly he left the Presence of the Man of God covered with Leprosy – White as Snow.
… The body responded because God can fight by Land!
In Acts 12: 20-23; when He decided to fight against a King – One moment the King was sitting on the Throne, the next moment his entire flesh became food for worms. By the time he hits the Ground from his Throne, only bones remains.
Incidentally, maybe we should have added that when we call Him the Lord of Host; He is not only the Host of Angels in Heaven, not only the Host of all Soldiers on Earth – He is also the Commander of the Host of Demons, He is also the Commander of the Host of Worms, He is also the Commander of the Host of Flies, He is also the Commander of the Host of Frogs, He is also the Commander of the Host of Lice.
You don’t believed me, ask Pharaoh – He will tell you that when he was against God, and God decided to fight; He fought with frogs, flies, lice.
He can fight you with anything because He is the Commander-In-Chief of all Hosts!
So, you don’t want God to fight against you because He can speak a Word to your flesh and that flesh made from the dust will respond!
- Because He is the Controller of Air; then He can fight you in the Air.
It follows that the very breath you breathe in is under His Control.
According to Job 12:10 – It says that the breath of the whole Earth is in His Hand.
He can speak a Word and a Man will stop breathing – You know that when Somebody dies, they say he breathe his Last!
In 1 Kings 17:17; the Bible tells us that when the son of the Widow of Zarephath was sick; it says that the Sickness got to a Stage that there was no breathe left in the boy.
God can withdraw the Breath in a Man!
- Oh, when we talk of Him fighting by water; I’m sure that even if you don’t agree with Scientists that seventy five Percent (75%) of your body is water; at least you know that you have water in your body, you have blood in your body, you have saliva, you have Liquids in you.
He can fight through the Liquids (Water) in a Man’s body!
… You don’t want God to fight you!
Now, there is something else we need to know quickly about Him – And that is that His Method of fighting is Peculiar!
We will learn more about this as He began to give Instructions to Joshua on how to take over the City.
In Isaiah 55: 8-9; He said clearly that: My ways are not your ways; my thoughts are not your thoughts.
- When He wants to fight, He does not come from the angle you expect – He doesn’t use the Weapon that you might expect Him to use.
For Example: In 1 Samuel 17: 39-51; when He decided to send David against Goliath; all He ask the boy to take along was a Sling and some Stones; against a Man who was coming with Spare, Shield, all manners of Weapons.
- When God wants to fight for Example; He atimes doesn’t use Methods that Medicine can Understand.
When God is the one fighting a Man and Doctors are talking on this Scan, that Scan; this Method, that Method; He sits on His Throne and He laughs.
I’m sure that by now, we have learnt that Demons don’t appear on Xray because they don’t have bones like we know it.
My Prayer for everyone of you listening to me today or reading now on the Label of DMC is that God will never fight you – Amen!
His Method is not our own kind of Method because if He is fighting you with Methods that you know, then you can defend yourself with Methods that are known!
Which of course is Good News on the other Side – If you are doing His Will, when He is fighting for you; He will use the Methods your enemies can never Understand!
I mean you know for Example in 2 Chronicles 20: 1-25 – When He choose to fight for Jehoshaphat; He asked Jehoshaphat to call on the Choir to lead the Army.
I am sure the enemies must have wondered – What is wrong with these People? Do they know how serious the situation is?
But somehow, the very Music that God heard that made Him happy; the enemies heard the same Music and went crazy and they began to kill one another until there was not a Single one left.
When God wanted to lift the Siege on Samaria; the enemy heard a sound from Heaven. Whereas, all that was happening was the shuffling of four (4) Lepers.
Because they were Lepers, they couldn’t walk as smart as Normal People will walk.
So, as they were shuffling on their way to the enemies, God turned the shuffling of the feet of the Lepers to the sound of a Mighty Army approaching – You know the rest of the Story.
Oh, how wonderful it is when God is on your Side!
But then, how terrible if He is against you!
Which is why I want you to learn some very Crucial Lessons this Day in other to make sure that God will never fight against you!
And the Crucial Lessons are as follow:
- Beware of Pride.
James 4:6 said clearly: While He gives Grace to the Humble, He resists the Proud (He fights the Proud).
So, anytime that you are tempted to feel Proud; quickly remind yourself not to be a Fool because:
I. It is only a Fool that will say: God come, let us fight and let us see who will win.
II. It is only a Fool that will say to Someone who touched Mountains and Mountains begin to Smoke- And say: Come, let’s fight.
Because if He touches your Head in anger, there will be nothing left there.
III. It is only a Fool that will want to Challenge the One who can turn a King to an animal for seven (7) years .
IV. It is only a Fool that will forget that it is written in 1 Samuel 2:7 that He can raise up and He can bring down.
My Beloveth children; beware of Pride but wear Humility like a Dress!
No matter how Successful you are, never forget that without Him, you can do Nothing!
- Trust Him and Live by Faith.
You know that we have said that if He is fighting for you, it doesn’t matter how tough the battle may be; you will Laugh Last.
Learn to trust Him in all battles of Life; live by Faith.
You know He has said it again and again; and I have told you before that God is not a Talkative – He speaks once and it is done.
When He repeats Himself, it is because He is discussing something serious.
When He says the same thing three (3) times; it means that the matter is very, very serious.
But that He said it four (4) times in the Bible that – “The Just shall live by Faith”.
He said it in Habbakuk 2:4.
DMC NOTES: The other 3 Places apart from Habbakuk 2:4 where it is written in the Bible that “The Just shall live by Faith” are – Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11 and Hebrews 10:38.
So, trust Him, rely on Him, let Him fight your battles for you, take your Burdens to Him and leave it there.
Someone said: Report your battles to God and go to Sleep. By the time you wake up, the battle will be over!
… That is if God is on your Side.
If you learnt Humility, then trust Him and you can be sure that your tomorrow will be alright!
And the one who said: Tell Him about your battle and go to Sleep is basing it on the fact that: Weeping may endure for the Night, but Joy is coming in the Morning.
- Learn to say “Thank You” each Time He gives you a Victory.
That is one Major Point I can never hammer too often because one of the Major Problems with us Christians is that we are never Thankful enough.
Gratitude should be as Close to us as Breathing!
Why must you be Grateful Particularly after a Victory?
It is because we are going to need God again!
You just fought a battle and you just got a Victory and you forget to say “Thank You”; what are you going to do when the next battle begins?
I mean take the Example in Judges 15: 14-20 – Samson had just won a “Big Victory” with the Jawbone of an Ass. He has just slained a thousand Men.
And instead of saying “Thank You” to the Almighty God, he was boasting – Hip upon Hip, with a Jawbone of an Ass, I have slain a thousand Men.
… Not a Single word of “Thank You” to God!
And the Bible says suddenly, he was Thirsty – Now, he has to face an enemy that cannot be slain with the Jawbone of an Ass (An Internal Enemy).
It was only then that he remembered to cry to God for another assistance.
And God said that the same Jawbone of an Ass that you used killing the External Enemy, you can now use it to take care of your Internal Enemy.
And you know the rest of the Story – Out of the same Jawbone of an Ass, came water and he drank it and he was revived.
For those of us who has won Victories and have not Thank God enough; Please, keep that in Mind – After every Victory, give Him Thanks because you can be sure that there is likely to be another battle soon!
Ask Moses, after the Victory at the Red Sea and the children of Israel Danced and Praised God in Exodus Chapter 15; almost as soon as they stopped Praising God, they came to Marah and they were Thirsty and the water was bitter.
It wasn’t long before the Bitter Water became Sweet Water because they had shown Gratitude for a Previous Victory and so another one (Victory) came very rapidly.
So, take time Particularly today in showing Gratitude to God for all the battles you have fought that God has given you Victory over.
Remember that He said in His Words that:
I. It is of the Mercy of God that we are not Consumed.
II. It is because His Mercy is renewed everyday, that is why you are still alive till today.
So, beware of Pride, Trust Him, Live by Faith and learn to show God Gratitude – And then, you can be sure that you will Laugh Last!
ALTAR CALL
As for those of us who has not surrendered your Life to Jesus Christ; Jesus Christ said something – He said if you are not for me, then you are against me.
If you are not a Child of God, believe it or not, that is what the Word of God says – You are already having a Great Enemy to fight; an Enemy that you can never defeat. That is God.
So, if you are Wise and you realised now as I have told you the dangers of God being against you; you will surrender to Him – You can’t fight God and win. Its not Possible!
Surrender to Him, Cross Over to His Side and you too will be one of those People who from today onwards can say: I am More Than a Conqueror through Him that loves me.
So, let us bow our heads and those of you who wants to surrender your Life to Jesus Christ; cry to Him now – Ask Him to have Mercy on you, ask Him to forgive all your sins, tell Him to come and take over your entire Life. Ask Him to be your Saviour, to be your Lord; Promise Him that you will cooperate with Him fully from now on and that you will serve Him all the days of your Life.
And I will Pray with you now!
PRAYER FOR SALVATION AND CLOSING PRAYER
My Father and my God, I want to Thank You for Your Words and I want to Thank You for all those who has heard the Word and have chosen now to surrender their lives to You.
Father, Please receive them, forgive them, let Your Blood wash away all their sins, save their Souls Lord, write their names in the Book of Life, receive them into the Family of God.
And from now on, my Father and my God, fight their battles for them.
And I Pray that they will serve You till the very end.
As for those of us who are already Your Children, from what we have learnt today; Please give us Grace like never before to run away from Pride, and to wear Humility like a Dress.
Please Lord God Almighty, give us the Grace to Trust You Completely, knowing that if You are for us, Nobody can be against us.
And teach us to be Grateful.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen!

I want you to be rest assured by the Grace of God that from now on, I will be Praying for you.
