TOPIC: MORE THAN CONQUERORS

DATE: 12TH DECEMBER 2024

BIBLE TEXT: ISAIAH 54:17 AND ROMANS 8:37-38

In the Wonderful Name of our Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, allow me to just Salute my father-in-the-Lord, Pastor Enoch Adeboye and my mother-in-the-Lord, Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye; for this wonderful Privilege to be able to bring the Word to you today.

I want us to Pray together, before I break the Bread of Life.

OPENING PRAYER

Our Blessed Heavenly Father, we’ve come before You today to acknowledge that Your Name is the Highest; Your Name is the Greatest; Your Name is above Thrones and Dominions; above Positions and Powers.

And this day we want to salute You!

We want to lift that Name above every other name, because You are Great and greatly to be Praised.

We Thank You Lord, for what You are doing in our lives.

We Thank You for how You are Changing us from one degree of Glory to another.

We Thank You Lord, for the Victory that Jesus obtained for us on Calvary.

We Thank You that because of You, we are “More than Conquerors.”

We Thank You for this Word.

We ask Oh GOD, may this Word encourage Your People.

May this Word cause us to arise and Shine; and walk in the Victory of the Lord.

We Thank You Father for all that You have in Store for us.

We give You Praise!

And we ask these in Jesus’ Mighty Name – Amen.

I want to read God’s Word as we find it in the Book of Isaiah 54:17 – Which I believe for some of you, it is a familiar Scripture.

Isaiah 54:17 – No Weapon that is formed against thee shall Prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in Judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the Heritage of the Servants of the LORD, and their Righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

No Weapon that is formed against thee shall Prosper – Amen!

I want us to go to Romans 8:37-38:

37. Nay, in all these things we are more than Conquerors through him that loved us.
38. For I am Persuaded, that neither Death, nor Life, nor Angels, nor Principalities, nor Powers, nor things Present, nor things to come,

I want to speak to you on what I have Titled: “MORE THAN CONQUERORS.”

As a Child of God, you have been destined to win, destined to Overcome, to triumph and to Breakthrough.

The Apostle Paul in his writing, had the Language of Victory, a narrative of Overcoming.

2 Corinthians 2:14 says, Now Thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to Triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the Savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

In some other version it says: “Thanks be to God, who leads us to Victory.”

According to Romans 8:37-38, which I just read to you – We are More than Conquerors.

I believe Apostle Paul understood the Position of Christians – He understood the Destiny of the Children of God.

Isaiah 54:17 speaks the same Language today. And it says, “No Weapon formed against us shall Prosper.”

I desire to encourage you today, lift you up and to give you Hope: That no matter what you are going through, as a Child of God, you are destined to Overcome – Amen.

I came to Prophesy to you that, whatever you are going through today, you will not breakdown; but you will Break Through – Amen.

Why? Because the Word of God declares that, we are More than Conquerors!

So, I am going to use this Passage in Isaiah 54:17 to demonstrate to you that beyond any reasonable doubts; you as a Child of God, are destined for Victory.

THREE (3) THINGS TO NOTE FROM ISAIAH 54:17.

I will share three (3) Things with you, and then we shall be done.

The first (1st) thing I want to show you is that;

1. THERE WOULD BE WEAPONS FORMED AGAINST YOU

A Weapon is a thing or an instrument, designed or used for causing Physical harm.

What are the Examples of a Weapon?

I believe: A gun, a knife, a sword, a matchet, a bomb – They are weapons that would be formed against you.

We are talking about Spiritual Weapons today.

The devil will attack you, and he has many weapons at his disposal – Weapons of Destruction, Weapons that have been tried and tested over the years.

What are these Spiritual Weapons?

To name just but a few: The weapon of Accusations, Lies, Love for money, Sickness, Slander, Fear, Spells, Curses.

The devil would attack your Finances, he would attack your body, attack your marriage, children, Parents, business, Church, etc.

His Purpose is to take away your Good name and Goodness.

John 10:10 – The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:

These Weapons are designed to deceive and to destroy.

Why are you under Attack?

You may ask, “why are Christians under attack?

In a Football Game, it is the one who has the ball that is Pursued by the other Players. He is the one under attack.

• You are under attack because of your Potentials.
• You are under attack because of what you carry. Because of what is in you and because of what is upon you.

The devil wants to stop you from being yourself.

He wants to stop you from having and doing what God has ordained for you.

And so he uses Weapons to stop you.

He tried to stop Joseph with the Weapon of Sex.

He tried to stop David withe the Weapon of Pride.

And he tried to stop many Saints with all kinds of Weapons.

Perhaps you are under an attack and it had been difficult for you – It looks as if Hell has broken loose on you.

Sometimes it is one attack after another – Wave of attack after wave of attack.

Sometimes it is like a Machine gun – You have attack after attack.

The devil does not use the same Weapons – He chooses his Weapons like a Skilled Hunter.

I have been under attacked; some of you have been under attack, yet you do not even know it.

Some of you are under attack, and you know it.

WHAT ARE THE SIGNS THAT YOU ARE UNDER ATTACK?

I. When you are facing Opposition:

Opposition at your Place of work, in your Business Place, in the School or College where you are.

II. Or when you are afflicted with Strange illnesses that the Hospitals have no answer to.

III. When your Business is going down.

IV. When your Church is not Growing.

V. When there is a Misunderstanding between you and your Spouse.

VI. When you have a Child that is Rebellious.

VII. When you have Financial Drought.

VIII. When things are not working in your Life.

IX. When your Relationship has no meaning at all; and it is not leading to any Marriage.

Of course, you are under attack!

As I said earlier on; there are many Weapons to be formed against you.

Some of these Weapons may be formed in the Mortuary, at the Graveyard or on the Mountain Top.

But whatever it is, you need to understand that you would be attacked – It could be at work, in the Church and in Business; wherever you are.

Different kinds of Weapons, Wicked and deadly Weapons would be Launched against you, to destroy, to derail and to kill you.

Launched to stop you from Worshipping God; to stop you from Praying to God and from Serving Him.

THE EFFECTS OF THESE ATTACKS

I. It would be hurt, it would be Painful. It would shake your very Foundation.

II. It may even result in you stop attending Church Service.

III. It could lead to Backsliding.

IV. It could lead to your Business failing.

V. It could lead to loss of your job.

VI. It could lead to separation in your Marriage or Unfaithfulness in your Relationship.

Just know that you are under attack!

As long as we live on this Planet Earth; as Christians we would be attacked – There would be Weapons that would be formed against us.

Open your eyes, the devil is not folding his hands – He is attacking with all kinds of Weapons.

The second (2nd) thing I want to show you is that;

2. THE WEAPONS SHALL NOT PROSPER.

The Good News is that the Weapon that is formed against you – Bringing havoc to your Life, the attack after attack, will not Succeed – Amen.

It will not Prosper, it will not Prevail or be Effective – Amen.

It will not accomplish its intended Purpose – To destroy you, to derail you or to stop you from Worshipping God.

No matter where it is formed – Whether it is formed in the Graveyard or in the Mortuary, it will not finish you.

Psalms 34:19 says, Many are the afflictions of the Righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

I came to Prophesy to you that: You are marked for Deliverance – Amen.

I came to encourage you that, you will not Breakdown; but you would Breakthrough – Amen.

The Weapon may take you off course; it may derail you; it may Temporary upset you, it may cause Pain and bring tears.

The Story of Joseph is very encouraging – He was falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife and he was thrown in Prison. Whilst he was there, he maintained a Sweet and Positive Spirit.

By accusing him falsely and throwing him in Prison, they were moving Joseph closer to his Destiny.

Because it was there in Prison that he met the Butler. And it was the Butler who introduced him to Pharaoh.

Some of these attacks may look like you are a Loser, and that you are finished. It may look like the devil has an upper hand.

But yet, you are being Pushed closer to your Destiny – Amen.

Sometimes I think the devil cries when he realises what he has done.

If I am to ask you a Question: “How would a Young Hebrew Man have met Pharaoh?

It was impossible! But it was through that Meeting with a Butler, that he met Pharaoh.

You are a Combat Kid! And the Purpose of God would be accomplished in your Life – Amen.

The Weapons formed against you would not Prevail – Amen.

We have another Story of Samson – The Weapon of Sex caused Samson to reveal his Secret; and his hair -:His dreadlocks or whatever it was). His hair was cut off, and he lost the Anointing.

He was like now any other man.

And the Philistines Captured him, they beat him, they dealt with him Mercilessly. They Plucked out his eyes, he became blind. And he was now working at a Mill – Milling flour for them.

The Weapon had Succeeded, it had Prevailed; so they thought!

But the Bible tells us that his hair began to grow back. And one day they had a Great Feast, where all the State Governors, all the Generals, all the who is who gathered for this Great Banquet to Celebrate.

And they asked for Samson to be taken there, so they could make fun of him.

Then Samson Prayed a Prayer; he asked God to have Mercy on him.

And he Prayed a Prayer, “Strengthen me this once, that I may avenge my eyes what these People have done.” And he asked a boy to lead him to the Pillar that held the entire building.

And when he got to that Place, he Pushed the Pillar; which brought the whole building down – Killing the Kings, the Governors, the Generals, and the “Who is Who” in the Land.

By the end of that day, he had fulfilled his Mission – To deliver the Children of Israel.

The Weapon did not Prosper!

I don’t know what you are going though; I don’t know what the enemy had done to you; but I came to encourage you to cry to Him for Mercy; Forsake your sin and ask Him to deliver you.

And I believe He will deliver you – Amen.

The Third (3rd) thing that I want to show to you is our response to this attack.

What is our Response to this Attack?

3. YOU SHALL CONDEMN EVERY TONGUE THAT SPEAKS IN JUDGEMENT AGAINST YOU.

You shall stand firm, you shall speak out, not speak defeat – You shall release Positive Words to the situation.

Moses said to the Children of Israel, For the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

He spoke Faith, The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace (DMC NOTES: Exodus 14:13-14)

How did David defeat Goliath? He defeated Goliath because he spoke Faith.

David was speaking Faith into the situation – He condemned Goliath and spoke Faith. He spoke Victory.

And I want to Challenge you Children of God; speak Victory, speak Faith into that situation.

Condemn whatever is happening in your situation, and speak Faith.

It is Faith that Overcomes!

The Bible says in Revelation 12:11, And they Overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their Testimony;

Why would The Weapon Not Succeed?

This is the Inheritance of the Saints – Victory is our Portion.

That is why we are told in 2 Corinthians 2:14 – Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every Place.

Romans 8:37 reminds us that we are More than Conquerors’;

• God has called us to Victory and not to Defeat.
• God has called us to be Conquerors as not to be Vanquished.

You are Destined to Overcome – Peace, Righteousness, Security and Triumph are the Heritage of the Saints.

Why will you Prevail?

• Because Jesus won the Victory on the Cross.
• Because on the Cross He said, “It is Finished!” And He won the Victory (DMC NOTES: John 19:30).

Why are we going to be More than Conquerors?

Because we are covered by the Blood of Jesus – They Overcame by the Blood of the Lamb.

Perhaps as a Child of God, you have sinned; you have messed up, you have compromised.

Like Samson, you are in a Place of defeat.

Hear me and hear me well: All you need to do is to repent and forsake that sin. And cry out to God, and He will rescue you because you are on the Winning Side.

If you are going through a time of opposition, a time when it seems like Hell is broken loose.

A time when you feel like you are in Prison; be like Joseph – Have a Sweet Spirit and commit your case to God.

The Hymn writer says: “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.”

Because Jesus is on the Throne and He is alive, you can face tomorrow – Amen.

You are More than a Conqueror!

I came to encourage you that it is not over for you. God has the Final Word. And the Word He has for you is that, “No weapon formed against you shall Prosper”.

That Weapon will not Prosper, so condemn it and begin to speak Faith in that situation.

Begin to declare your Victory in that situation – That you will come out of the situation alive and Strong.

In Conclusion; there would be many Weapons formed against you: at home, at work, in the Market Place. Even in the Church or wherever you are.

Different kinds of Weapons: Wicked Weapons, Deadly Weapons; would be formed against you.

They would be Launched against you, to destroy, to derail you.

• To stop you from worshipping God.
• To stop you from serving God and Praying to God.

But the Good News is that, the Weapon would not Prosper – Amen.

They will not Succeed – Amen!

That Weapon will not accomplish its Purpose in your Life – Amen.

The effects may be Painful – It may hurt you, it may shake you to the very Foundation;.

But I want you to know Child of God, it will not Succeed – Amen.

Therefore, I want to Prophesy, that you are coming out of that attack:

You will Overcome that Financial Challenge.

You are coming out of that Marital situation that has brought a lot of pain.

You are coming out of that Loss of Employment.

You are coming out of that Business failure.

Victory is your Portion.

You are a Child of God. “Many are the afflictions of the Righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” (DMC NOTES: Psalms 34:19).

Lift up your Voice and Pray – And God will come to your rescue.

The Good News is that the Weapon will not Succeed and you would not be Defeated – Amen.

You will rise from defeat and you will come back.

So stand firm and speak Positively to that situation.

You are Destined for Victory.

You are More than a Conqueror.

And it is well with you.

May the Lord deliver you from every attack of the Enemy.

May you always come to the Top!

May you never see Shame.

You are Blessed forever – Amen!

… Let me Pray with you, as I Conclude;

CLOSING PRAYER

Father, we Thank You for Your Word this afternoon.

We Thank You Lord, that the Language of Apostle Paul was:

A Language of Victory.

A Language of Overcoming;;

That we are More than Conquerors.

We Thank You that Isaiah reminds us that, “No weapon formed against us shall Prosper.*

Oh GOD our Father, I lift these Your Children:

Those that are going through various attacks.

Those Oh GOD, that are even giving up.

Those who have lost Hope.

Father, be Your Grace, reach out to them.

Deliver them with Your Right Hand.

Oh GOD my Father, give them Grace to apply Your Word, that they may come out of every situation.

Father, deliver them in the Mighty Name of Jesus.

We Thank You for the Victory that Jesus won on the Cross.

We Thank You Oh GOD, and we claim that Victory in our lives.

Deliver us Oh GOD, from all manner of attacks, in the Mighty Name of Jesus.

Thank You Lord, because we believe You have heard us.

We believe we are going to have Testimonies.

Thank You Father, that “No weapon formed against us shall Prosper.”

We condemn every tongue that is speaking against us;

And we now stand on our Inheritance – Which is Victory.

We Inherit the Victory of the LORD.

We Bless You Father. We give You Honour.

In Jesus’ Name we have Prayed – Amen.

… And every one says – Amen!!!

Go in the Blessing of the LORD; and in the Victory of the LORD.
