Eternal Rock of Ages we bless Your Holy Name. King of Kings we adore You. Ancient of Days we bow before You. The Sovereign Lord we adore You. The One who is Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End we adore You.
We exalt Your Holy Name, we bless Your Holy Name. We Magnify Your Holy Name King of Glory – Our gathering is unto You.
Father, we Pray that in the few minutes, You show up, You speak to us, You encourage us, You bless us, You deliver us, You heal us, Transform our lives for the better.
At the end of this Ministrations, Father we Pray that everyone of us will have our Personal Testimonies and Your Name will be Glorified.
Take all the Glory Lord, take all the Honour Lord.

I salute the first family of Lagos State – Our Governor, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu (BOS) and our First Lady and the lovely sweetheart of our Governor and his Choco Milo – Dr (Mrs) Ibijoke Sanwoolu.
I salute also our Deputy Governor, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and his wife and sweetheart and Sugar Banana, Mrs Oluremi Hamzat.
I salute also, the Members of the Cabinet of the Lagos State Government: I salute the House of Assembly, all the Past Governors and their wives that are Present.
Our Lord Spiritual, Our Lord Temporal, the Lord Bishops that are here and the General Overseers of various Ministries and also to our Traditional Rulers.
I salute all Lagosians and Invited Guests; Ladies and Gentlemen.
I like to first say: Happy New Year and may this New Year be Full of Joy, be Full of Victories, be Full of Answered Prayers and the Fulfillment of Dreams, Prophesies and Visions in the Mighty Name of Jesus – Amen.
Apart from the fact that this Year is Year 2020, 21st Edition of Past Editions – Meaning that God will Perfect all that concerns you.
Also, this Year is a Leap Year and we remember the story in Acts Chapter 3 – Of the lame man after he was healed.
The Bible says that he started walking, leaping, jumping and Praising the Lord.
I Prophesied into your Life that this Year God will give you Miracles that will cause you to walk, to jump, to shoot Hallelujah and Praise the Lord in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
Praise the Name of the Lord – Hallelujah.
I bring you greetings from our father, the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church, Pastor E.A Adeboye and his lovely honey suku, Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye; who are unavoidably absent and have sent me to represent them at this Thanksgiving Service.
My Prayer is that, that which the Lord has Prepared to do in your life, He will do in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
The Bible Text is taking from Psalms 50:23.
And the Amplified Version reads thus: He who offers Sacrifice of Praise and Thanksgiving honours Me and to him who orders his ways rightly I will show the Salvation of God.
The New Living Translation says: But Giving Thanks is a Sacrifice that truly honours Me. If you keep My Path I will reveal to you this Salvation of God.
May the Lord bless the reading and hearing of His Words in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
Over twenty (20) Years ago, a father and a son met over the affairs of Lagos State – They are both Visionaries and Dreamers.
The father had experienced God who sent him to the wilderness where there were wild animals, witches, wizards and a den of robbers outside Lagos State and He (God) said that he (father) should leave his Comfort Zone in Lagos State and go and dwell there because God Promised him that He was going to build him a City.
The son was duly saddled with the affairs of Lagos State. And he yearned to make Lagos State Number 1 in our Country – “A CENTER OF EXCELLENCE” and he wanted to leave a Sustainable Legacies.
Both of them knew that having served but no Vision makes them being blind – That being the function of the eyes which only perceives the things that were while Vision is a function of the Mind and see things as they could be.
The father knew that the Spiritual controls the Physical and he advice the son and said: Son, the only thing that could guaranteed the Sustainable Success of our State (Lagos State) was to Honour God with a Yearly Thanksgiving Service for the State on the first Sunday of the first Month of the Year.
Because the Bible says even though Paul plants and Apollo waters; it is only God that can giveh Increase.
The father is Pastor E.A Adeboye and the son is our Leader: Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
People of God, as our Governor said; this is how this Annual Thanksgiving Service was established.
And I thank God that it has been sustained by all successive Administrations of our Illustrious State.
The Bible says in Proverbs 22:28. It says: Remove not the Ancient Landmarks which thy fathers has set.
Some might be wondering why you are having a Thanksgiving Service at the beginning of the Year and not at the end of the Year after God had done Great and Mighty things?
It is more convenient for us to have it in December to thank God for all He has done in the last Year because you don’t throw a Party when you are just Matriculating in the University. You wait till when you have Graduated: When all things has been done well, when you have finished very well.
Well the reason why they choose to have it in January – At the beginning of the Year is not far fetch. They are just tapping from the Wisdom of the Heavens as seen in Luke 2: 13-14.
When Jesus Christ was born and the Angels came to bring the Good News to the Shepherds. The Bible said that suddenly a Host of Angels started Praising God saying; Glory to God in the Highest and on Earth Peace, God’s Will to all men.
And you might be asking: Why were they celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ? He came for a job, an assignment.
Will it not make sense for them to wait for Him to go to the Cross, die, go to Hell, deliver all the Captives and Rise Up on the third (3rd) Day?
That would have been the Perfect Time to celebrate because they could have said: Mission Accomplished.
But the Ways of Heaven are different from our Ways.
Philippians 1:6 says: Being confident of this very thing that He that has begun a Good Work in you will surely Perfect it in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
People of God, the Message Version of that Scripture (Philippians 1:6) says: There he never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this Great Work in you will keep at it and bring it to a Flourishing Finish in the Name of Jesus.
So, we are confident that because we have laid a Solid Foundation of Thanksgiving, Lagos State is established on God. And because what you see in Lagos is the work of God
We are confident that He that has begun these Great Works in this Year 2020 is more than able to Finish it and Perfect it in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
Praise the Name of the Lord – Hallelujah!
So, we don’t have to wait till the End of the Year – We are confident that God who is the Author will Finish it well in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
And I made bold to declare to our Governor and the Cabinet and all the Supporters of this Government that we will finish Well and we will finish Strong in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
Praise the Name of the Lord – Hallelujah!
Because if we start the Year on any endeavour by laying the Right Spiritual Foundations; it is given that the End will be Glorious because He that started it, will surely finish it in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
So, we are here to Thank God knowing that this Year will be Glorious in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
And He is telling us in Isaiah 3:10. He says: Say ye to the Righteous, it shall be well with him in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
Every crooked ways has been made straight.
The Bible says in Isaiah 46:10 – The Amplified Version, it says: We have a God who declares the end results from the beginning.
God knows how this Year will end. And I know that it will end Gloriously in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
Praise the Name of the Lord – Hallelujah!
Our God is in Control of our State and at the end of it all, we will Testify in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
Imagine, People came to your house to watch a Football Match between Manchester United and Enugu Rangers.
And you the owner of the house you are telling them that I know that Enugu Rangers will beat Manchester United 4-0.
Of course, they will shout and say: What do you know? Don’t you know Manchester United? Don’t you know all the laurels that they have put in their hands?
But while they were jumping up during the game; you just sit down quietly, sipping your Coca Cola.
At the end of it all, low and behold Enugu Rangers gives Manchester United 4-0.
Your friends will be surprised. They will say how come you know? How come that you are cool and not jumping up? You are just sipping your Coke?
You will tell them: Well I have seen the Match before and it is a Replay.
I dare tell you that your Life is a Replay. All the things you want God to do for us is a Replay.
The Bible says in Psalms 139:16 – The NIT Version.
It says: You saw me before I was born and everyday of my Life has already been written in Your Book before I was born.
So, God is telling us that as long as you have put a Solid Foundation, all is well and there is nothing to be afraid and anxious about.
And all the Prayers that has been said here God has answered by Fire in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
So, tell your neighbour that it is well in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
And God is in Control in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
People of God, we need to understand that Thanksgiving is a “Master Key”
Psalms 100:4; the Message Version it says: Enter with Password Thank You; make yourself at home talking Praise. Thank Him, Worship Him.
Without a Password, you cannot have access to the Presence of God; you cannot have access to the Blessings of God; you cannot have access to Gates of Year 2020 or any Year.
That is why the wisdom of the Elders says that we need a Password so that the Gates of the Blessings of God, the Gates that contains the Vault of God and everything you want God to do for this Year.
… You need a Password to be able to open that Gate.
And the Bible says that the Password is Thanksgiving!
So, once you thank God first as you are doing; we are sure that every Gate, every Doors of Blessings will be opened in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
People of God, Psalms 50:23 says: When you Thank God, God is honoured and He is Glorified and He shows you His Salvation and Deliverance.
Once you thank God and you make Him Happy; you exalt His Name, Miracles, Signs and Wonders; Success in all our endeavours is sure to follow.
1 Samuel 2:30; God says Give and Honour, I will Honour.
The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18: In everything give Thanks for this is the Will of God concerning you.
Thanksgiving is the Password that opens the Vault containing all the Blessings of God for the New Year.
It moves God to act on our behalf and we have examples in the Scriptures where Thanksgiving open doors.
One of the hardest or greatest feat that Jesus Christ had to do – one of the Greatest Miracles that He did is in John 11: 41-42
He has raised People that has been recently dead – People that has been dead say for three (3) days but not four (4) days (it has not happened before).
Because on the forth (4th) Day, the doctors tells us that the body becomes blotted; the eyes are plucked out; worms has started eating the Person.
So, when Jesus Christ get to the tomb of Lazarus; what did He do?
He used the Password. He said: Father, I thank You that You have heard me.
And the only thing He did after that was to call upon the name of Lazarus and something unprecedented happened in Israel that day.
People of God, all the worms that had eaten Lazarus up they had to vomit.
I”m Prophesying into your Life that as we thank God today; everything that has limited your Progress, everything that has eaten up your Destiny today they must vomit in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
Praise the Name of the Lord – Hallelujah!
This 2nd example can be seen in John 6:2.
The Bible says that a great Multitude follow Jesus. And here they were hungry and He asked in Verse 9 that what do you have to give them?
They said five (5) loaves of bread and two (2) small fishes – We are talking of four thousand (4,000) or five thousand (5,000) People (we are talking of a Great Multitude).
And the Disciples said this is not enough. What can we do with these little?
The Natural thing is to start murmuring, but in Verse 11 He (Jesus) took what is not enough and gave Thanks and He distributed it.
At the end of it all, there are twelve (12) baskets left.
… What is not enough became More Than Enough!
I Prophesy into your Life that as we have used the Password today, that all the inadequacies in your Life, in our State will end in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
That God will bless you beyond your Expectations and He will give you Extra in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
That Lesson is what we have to Thank God for where you are: Stop murmuring, Thank God, Count Your Blessings and name them one by one and it will surprise you what God has done.
It is the oldest trick of Satan – God gave Adam and Eve all the trees in the field to eat but he make sure that they will focus on that one that He said don’t touch.
The enemies want to Magnify your Inadequacies but today he has failed in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
Another example is in Luke 17: 16-19.
You know the story: He healed some lepers – ten (10) lepers. But only one came back to say Thank You. And because that leper came back to say Thank You in Verse 16 of that Scripture; Jesus Christ pronounced Wholeness – He said: You are now Whole.
What does that mean?
All the nine (9) lepers are healed but they will still have patches. But this man that use the Password, that used the Master Key; when you see him: No traces of sickness, no traces of Poverty, no traces of failure.
And I Prophesied into your Life that as you use this Password of Thanksgiving God today; at the end of this Service no traces of sickness in your body, no traces of stagnation, no more failure in your lives, in the lives of your children in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
No more Stagnation and Poverty will be a thing of end and past in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
People of God, I like us to also refer to what happened to Paul and Silas in Acts 16; 25-26.
Pail and Silas, they were in Jail. They should be murmuring because they ate doing God’s Work, they haven’t done anything wrong and at midnight they started Praying and Singing Praises to God – Thanking God.
And the Bible says that the Prisoners heard them and suddenly there was a “Great Earthquake” so that the foundation of the Prison was shaken.
And immediately, all doors were opened and everyone bonds were loosed.
I Prophesy into your Life that as you begin to Thank God and Praise Him today; there will be an Earthquake that will swallow all the remaining enemies of our State in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
Everything that has bolted you, stagnated you, all the impossibilities of your Life; God will release you today in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
All those things that has limited you and limited our State will be flung open in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.

People of God, our daddy Pastor E.A Adeboye shared a story with us of his mother.
He said that his father was very Poor indeed that for the first eighteen (18) Years of his Life; he never wore shoes.
He was such Poor that even the Poor People knew that his father was Poor. So, getting School fees was a tall order.
But his mother knew how to use the Password and anytime she goes to her husband (the father of our General Overseer) for School fees. She won’t come and say give me school fees; she will start thanking him, Praising him.
She will tell him that your father was a great hunter, he killed more Elephants than all his Peers – of course that was not so.
She will say: Ha, you are a Currency Controller_ you are the Chairman of many Companies. Look at all your landed Properties, it is greater than everyone else.
His father will be tapping his leg and say: O se (Thank You).
He will say continue because his head will be swelling. He is being Magnified because they are Thanking and Praising him.
At the end of it all; he will ask what do you want me to do for you.
She will Praise him again that when you go anywhere; everybody wants to be your friend.
After, the Praising of him; he will go into his closet and bring out the school fees for our father in the Lord.
People of God, when you Praise God; it Glorifies Him, it Honours Him, He loves it, He appreciates it and the Bible says in Isaiah 66:1 – It says that Heaven is His Throne and the Earth His Footstool.
As you have been Thanking and Praising God; I can imagine God sitting in Heaven and tapping His Foot.
And as He is tapping His Foot; all those that have build pits for us they will fall into it – Amen.
His Foot tapping will cause an Earthquake that will swallow all our enemies in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
And as you continue to Praise and Thank Him; His Head will begin to swell up, He is Magnified. He said that He created us to show forth His Praises.
… What He eats is Glory and Praise.
As you Praise Him, He said that He will show His Salvation.
That is why the Bible says: Suddenly He will arise.
The Bible says: Let God arise and let all His enemies be scattered.
I Prophesy into your Life that as we continue to use this Password in this State; not only will God be tapping His Feet, He will arise and all our enemies will be scattered never to regroup in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
Say Father, in the Name of Jesus Christ; arise for my course – Scatter all my enemies. Speak confusion into their midst. They will not be able to regroup in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
… So shall it be in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
No wonder our Governor refers to Psalms 34:1.
David said: I will bless the Lord at all times. His Praise shall continually be in my mouth.
In Good times, I will bless Him.
Its the Password that brings down the Presence of the Lord.
In sickness, in Health, in times of Joy, in times of Sorrow, in bad times and in Good times, in the Day and in the Night – I will be extravagant with my Praise.
It is an intentional thing that it really doesn’t matter what is going on in my life; I will make up my mind that I would bless the Name of the Lord.
Because once you bless the Lord, once you Thank God; it Glorifies Him and He shows you His Salvation and Deliverance.
My Prayer is that that will be our lifestyle from today in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
People of God; Thanksgiving is the Secret of the Success of this State (Lagos State).
You can see that Lagos State is Nigeria.
Our Contributions to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of this Nation is huge.
If anything happens to Lagos State, it happens to Nigeria.
Indeed in 2017; analysis has it that Lagos State is the fifth (5th) Largest City in Africa.
Lagos State is the “Center of Excellence” – It is Number one (1) in Nigeria.
…Thanksgiving is the Secret of the Success of Lagos State.
And we know that each successive Government has improved on the data.
From twenty (20) Years ago, every Governor has improved on the work of the former Governor because it is a “Spiritual Truisim”.
The Bible says that the Glory of the Latter House will always be Greater than the former!
I will like to tell our Visionary Governor that this Government will be the best yet in Lagos State in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
Because the Glory of the Latter House must always be Greater than that of the Former.
And as we look towards the “Horizon of Possibilities” and sail towards the Places others fear to go; we say that God has given you a “Divine Preview” of coming Attractions as expressed in the six (6) Pillars of our Developmental Agenda that you called THEMES – Traffic Management and Transportation, Health and Environmental, Education and Technology, Making Lagos State 21st Century State, Security and Governance.
It is Preview of what God has started to do – Potholes are being fixed and there are many other things happening in Lagos State.
And the Prayer that is in that Acronym called THEMES will be established through you and your Deputy Governor in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
So, we are saying: Continue to dream big, innovate, enlarge your Tents and limits. The God who has called you to a realm of Unlimited Potentials and Possibilities and the same God that has started with you will finish well with you in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen.
People of God, maybe you are here and you don’t know what to Thank God for? I just want to give you a Statistics.
It is an old Statistics and am sure it has been improved on:
- 6,316 People died every hour.
We have been here for hours, so just calculate it – That is before Terrorism and others.
- 151,600 People died per day.
- 55,000,000 People died in a Year.
If you don’t have any reason to thank God for; thank God for the Mercy of God, for Preserving you even to see this Year because God said that I will have Mercy on whosoever I want to have Mercy on and Compassion on whosoever I want to have Compassion on.
… It is only the Living that can Praise the Lord.

As I end, we need to realised that God is a Holy God. His eyes cannot behold sin.
Isaiah 1:15 says that when you spread your hands up to Pray as a sinner; He says that I will hide my eyes from you. When you make many Prayers I cannot hear you because your hands are full of blood.
In Isaiah 3:10; it says: Say to the Righteous it shall be well with you.
But in Verse 11 it says: Say it to the sinner, it shall be ill with them.
ILL means calamily, death, destruction is their Portion – So try and change today. And you can’t use the Password.
The Bible says that He (God) is angry with the sinners everyday. Their Prayers are an abomination to Him (No Access to that God). Unless you surrender their lives to Jesus Christ, there cannot be a guarantee of a Glorious Ending.
As I end, I will tell you a story of a rich man and his son: This rich man is an Art Collector and has a lot of Masters – Very expensive Paintings and his son himself always go to the Gallery to go and appreciate these Paintings.
Then his son went to war as a Soldier in the America Army. After some time, he was killed and there was a friend that was with him.
He said that the last Wish of the son was that he should draw a picture of him and give it to his father.
That friend drew the picture of him holding a gun and he died and the friend took it to the father.
When the father learnt about the death, he stopped going to the Gallery; the only Picture he loved was that of his son.
And they called for an Auction that they wanted to Auction all the Great Works.
Of course the Place pack full of People that wants to buy.
Then the Auction said that the first (1st) Auction will be the Action of his son picture.
Nobody wanted that Painting – It was a Soldier that drew it but it was very dear to the heart of the old man.
So, they started calling 10,000 – Nobody put up hand; 5,000 – Nobody put up hand. When they get to 1,000; there was a boy that knew the boy and said well let me buy the Painting and keep it because it will remind me of his son.
They said: Going, Going – GONE!
They gave the Painting to him and then announced that the Auction is over.
Everybody shouted how? Why? How can the Auction be over? I came here for the big, big Paintings.
They said sorry, it is over because the Owner said that he that buys the son (takes the son) takes the other Paintings.
What are we saying here: He that accepts Jesus Christ as his or her Personal Lord and Saviour has access to all the Blessings that we are believing God for.
So, I want to encourage you tonight that please accept Jesus Christ as your Personal Lord and Saviour. He is the Only Way you can be have access to the Blessings of God.
There is no other Name given under Heaven that we can be saved.
Jesus Christ is the main issue.
The Entrance of Jesus Christ to the world has been recognized as the Turning Point of History – This is why our Calendar refers to AD and BC.
So, today is 2020 (AD) in the Year of our Lord.
B.C.” stands for the English phrase “Before Christ”.
While “A.D.” stands confusingly for a Latin phrase: anno domini (In the Year of the Lord — The Year Jesus was born) – So, don’t be fool on the main issues.
The Bible says in Habbakuk 2:14 – For the Earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the LORD as water covers the sea.
ALTAR CALL
I want to make an appeal to you today that if you are a sinner; there is no guarantee that you will see the end of this Year. No matter the Prayers, you belong to Satan. But today, you can surrender to Jesus Christ.
As you can see the Governor and the wife Praising God so that the Gates can be opened and the Salvation, the Blessings, the Agenda can be established.
But if you are here, you don’t know Him (God) as your Personal Lord and Saviour; then no Prayer that you can Pray can get an answer. You will just become a Pawn in the hands of the enemies.
As all eyes are closed, you are here, you want to surrender your Life to Jesus Christ, you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Personal Lord and Saviour; if you die today – I Pray you won’t die, you are going to spend Eternity in Hell.
Even if you have lived to one hundred (100) Years, then is that compared to thousands of Years you will spend burning in Hell.
Jesus Christ came for sinners and He is making that appeal to you now.
So, if you are here, you want to accept Jesus Christ; just lift up your hands and the Usher will give you a Card.
Pastor Adeboye wants them (the Convert Card Details) and will Specially Pray on them.
As you received the Card and surrender your Life to Jesus Christ, your Life will never be the same again.
Now Repeat this after me: Lord Jesus I come to you right now. Your Words says all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.
I’m a sinner, please forgive me my sins. I plead the Blood of Jesus to wash me clean of all my sins. Change my heart from disobedient heart to obedient heart. Save me with Your Holy Spirit.
I’m happy to obey you. Write my names in the Book of Life and grant me this Access ti the Blessings of God and I will live my Life for You all the days that I live on Earth.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.
CLOSING PRAYERS
Heavenly Father we want to Thank You. We bless Your Holy Name, we give You all the Glory and Adoration.
We Thank You for speaking to us, we Thank You for Spiritual Foundations laid in this State that is working for us.
Father, we Pray that everyday of our lives, we will have cause to Thank You in Jesus Mighty Name.
Father, we Pray that the Door to your Kingdom will always be open once we Thank You. It will never be Access Denied in Jesus Mighty Name.
And all of us that are here; that by next Year Thanksgiving, we will be here with all our Testimonies.
Let it be well with our State, let it be well with our Governor, his wife, the Deputy Governor and his wife and all the Prayers that they have said here answer by Fire.
Let Your Name be Glorified. Let everything you have done be Permanent.
