Today again, we are here to drink from the Source that never DRY; we are here to drink from the Fountain of Life; we are here to drink to satisfy our Longing Souls.

We ask that this day, You will Satisfy our hearts; You will Sanctify us also: You will meet our Needs, heal our Body, heal our Soul, hear our Spirit.

Let there be Salvation, let there be Healing, and let there be Comfort.

Today, we are reading from: EPHESIANS 5:15-17.

RECOVER, RECLAIM AND REDEEM YOUR TIME.

… THREE (3) R’s!

Ephesians 5:15-17;

15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

… The Lord Bless the Reading and Hearing of His Words, in the Name of Jesus – Amen.

Looking at this THEME: RECOVER, RECLAIM AND REDEEM YOUR TIME

It gives a clear understanding that an appreciable Part of our lives has been engaged or used.

Permit me to ask you, and to ask everyone reading this Message now on the Label of DMC: How have you been spending your TIME? How have you been spending your LIFE?

In Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 – I will only zero in Verse 1;

“To every Thing there is a Season, and a Time to every Purpose under the Heaven:”

So, Proper knowledge about WHERE and WHO you are NOW, will help you (and help me) to Prepare well for the rest of the Journey.

RECOVER, RECLAIM AND REDEEM YOUR TIME.

PRINCIPLES OF TIME

When you talk about the Principles of Time, there are things I will just mention – I won’t discus them because that is not where I want to zero in today.

When you talk about the Principles of Time, there are few things you need to take note of:

1. Time is LIFE.
2. Life is DEFINED as Time.
3. Life is MEASURED by Time.
4. Life is DETERMINED by Time.
5. Life is LIVED OUT in Time.
6. Life is QUALIFIED by Time.
7. The PASSING of Time is the Passing of LIFE.
8. Time STOPS when LIFE stops.

And each time you talk about death: DEATH is life living in TIME.

Because People you thought are dead, are living outside time.

And TIME is temporary, but LIFE is external.

… So, you need to Maximize your day!

Where we read today – Ephesians 5:15-17 says: “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO RECOVER, RECLAIM AND REDEEM TIME?

1. It means to BUY UP for oneself.
2. To make THE MOST out of your Time.
3. Making GOOD USE of your Time.

Buy up the Time for yourself; that is what it means to redeem the time.

Redeeming the time is a Christian concept, which basically means: To converted Time into VALUE.

• To Recover and not to waste;
• To Prioritize it.

Time is very Powerful; so whatever you invest into Time is what you will get out of it.

Whatever you invest your Time in, you BECOME!

I like to let you know that: It is Possible to ABUSE OR WASTE TIME just as you can waste money .

EIGHT (8) THINGS ABOUT TIME:

Now, I will mention eight (8) things – I won’t discuss them:

1. Time can be STOLEN.
2. Time can be ABUSED.
3. Time can be LOST.
4. Time can be SQUANDERED.
5. Time can be APPRECIATED.
6. Time can be DEPRECIATED.
7. Time can be DEVALUED.
8. Also, Time can be REVALUED.

The Bible says: “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

WHY SHOULD WE NEED REDEEM THE TIME?

Why should we Recover, Reclaim and Redeem the TIME?

Someone has observed that life is one of the Units of Currency – You can spend it in any way you want.

But you can only spend it once – you can only live your life once.

Now, when you spend your money, it is gone! And you can waste your money, you can also invest it.

The same thing is true of Life. Whether you are Young or Old; the irony of life is the fact that when you are Old, and they say you are old; You say – No. What have I done in life? I have not done anything!

When you are Young and they say you are Young; you say NO, I am old!

… That is the irony of life.

Supposed you are to start your life all over again; supposed you were to go back to your younger days; supposed you have climbed the age of fifty to seventy (50-70) – And somebody asked you: How would you want your life to be Readjusted? What will be your answer?

But I want to zero in on the question:

If you could ask the Lord Jesus Christ how to Redeem Time – What do you think His answer would be?

I will allow the Bible to answer for us.

But before we do that, let us Pose a question:

WHY DO YOU NEED TO REDEEM YOUR TIME?

Why do we need to RECOVER, RECLAIM and REDEEM our TIME?

1. We need to do that because of the PREVALENCE OF EVIL.

You should, I should, redeem my time because of the Prevalence of evil.

In Ephesians 5:16, the Bible says: “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

… The “days” – Not just one day!

The days of our lives are exposed to evil, as to make it necessary that we make the most out of every opportunity, to do the Will of God.

In Ephesians 6:12; the Bible says: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against Principalities, against Powers, against the Rulers of the darkness of this world, against Spiritual wickedness in High Places.”

1 Peter 5:8 says: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”

In Matthew 5:14-16; the Bible says: Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so Shine before men, that they may see your Good Works, and Glorify your Father which is in Heaven.

So, you need to Redeem your time, I need to Redeem my time, because of the Prevalence of evil.

… Why do we need to Redeem our Time?

2. Because of the FLEETING NATURE of OPPORTUNITY.

Opportunity keeps moving, keeps flying, keeps running.

Isaiah 55:6 says: “Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:”

Today, is the acceptable day. You may not have another opportunity. It may be gone!

I watched a Drama not too ago – About a man who went to a Man of God to be Born Again. And the Man of God said: Wait, I am going for a Program.

The next thing he heard was that the man was shot dead. He was so sorrowful, and he did not know what to do.

… When you have opportunity; do it NOW.

In Galatians 6:9-10, this is what it says: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in Due Season we shall reap, if we faint not.

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do Good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the Household of Faith.”

There is an Arabian Proverb, this is what it says – It says: Four (4) things never come back.

It is an Arabian Proverbs – It say:

i. THE SPEED ARROW.

ii. THE SPOKEN WORD.

iii. TIME PAST.

iv. And the NEGLECTED OPPORTUNITY.

• If Arrow is shot, it is gone;
• Spoken Word: You say I am sorry. What are you sorry for? It is already gone.
• Time Past: Oh God return yesterday. It is gone!
• And Neglected Opportunity: it is gone!

… It is an Arabian Proverb.

2 Corinthians 6:2 says: “For He saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of Salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of Salvation.”

You need to REDEEM THE TIME;

No. 1 – because of the Prevalence of Evil.

No. 2 – We should redeem the time because of the Fleeting Nature of Opportunity.

*Use the Opportunity you have NOW: Good wife, Good children, Good work, Good Church, Good Pastor, Good General Overseer, Good Accommodation, Good Car!

… Just enjoy it, don’t delay it!

3. We need to Redeem the Time, because of the BREVITY OF LIFE.

Brevity – Short like a shadow, like a vapour.

James 4:13-14 says: “Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”

There are things we need to do! We need to Redeem the TIME.

Isaiah 64:6 says: “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

… Where I want to emphasis is: We all do FADE as a LEAF;

Do you realised how quickly Time Passes and Flew away from you?

A Research was done years ago; I don’t know when they will upgrade it. It says: In a Life Time of an Averaged Person, they will spend their Time this way: It says:

• They will spend six (6) Months sitting at a Stop Light. I think Traffic or so.
• Eight (8) Months, opening Junk Mail.
• One (1) Year looking for a Misplaced Objects.
• Two (2) Years on successfully returning Phone calls.
• Four (4) Years of doing house chores.
• Five (5) Years of waiting on Lie.
• Six (6) Years of eating.

And the Survey was carried out on six thousand (6,000) People – It is in the News Report, January 30, 2009 (Page 81).

Now, only ONE (1) LIFE – That is what I want to bring out. It will soon be Past.

And only what you do for Christ: only doing the Will of God, that will establish you and count.

Three (3) Things I have said:

• We should Redeem the Time because of the Prevalence of Evil;
• We should Redeem the Time because of the Fleeting Nature of Opportunity;
• We should Redeem the Time because of the Brevity of Life.

… Then I come to the CORE:

HOW DO I RECOVER, RECLAIM AND REDEEM MY TIME?

Ephesians 5:14 says: “Wherefore He saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.”

Ephesians 5:17 says: “Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”

Martin Luther said: “My Assignment is so busy, that I shall spend the first three (3) Hours in Prayer; by Fellowshipping and Worshipping with other Believers.

That is what Ephesians 5:19 says.

The question is: HOW DO I REDEEM MY TIME?

1. Live each day PER TIME

Jesus, the Master said to us in Matthew 6:34. He said: “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

Look at it in Luke 11:3; Jesus taught the Disciples: “Give us day by day our daily bread.”

… Those who carried excess Manna in the wilderness, maggot developed from it.

… Everything Rises and Falls here.

If your Priorities are not in order in life, your Life will not be in ORDER.

If your priority is Wrong, then your whole Life will be WRONG.

You don’t need to think about your Priority, you don’t need to discuss it, you don’t need to look for it – You just have to do it!

Because Jesus already told us what our Priority should be.

What is it? – Matthew 6:33 says: “But SEEK YE FIRST the KINGDOM of GOD, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

2. Learn to INVEST your TIME WISELY

Colossians 4:5 says: “Walk in wisdom towards them that are without, redeeming the time.”

Ephesians 5:15-16 (where we read). It says: “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

I want to put it to you Sir/Ma: If you are above Sixty (60) years, one of the best things you can invest your life unto, is to investing it in the Young Ones by MENTORING and Properly COACHING them.

It is good to build a house, but you will leave it behind – If there are People to maintain it, fine! Else, it will become dilapidated.

But the People you invest in, they keep remembering you.

• We can’t talk about the Feat and the exploits of JOSHUA today, without mentioning MOSES – No!
• What about TIMOTHY? We can’t talk about Timothy without mentioning PAUL.

So, it is one thing to misuse the Time God has given you, it is another thing to abuse God’s Gift of Time.

These are evil days, and Temptations abound – The enemy came to steal, to kill and to destroy (John 10:10).

You need to watch out, you need to be careful.

These are the commands for right living, that are given to you from the context of the Word of God – The days are evil; so be careful to live wisely, not as unwise.

3. NEVER stop READING.-

I am talking about HOW to Recover, Reclaim and Redeem your Time.

NEVER STOP READING! Readers are LEADERS.

2 Timothy 4:13, this is what Apostle Paul said:

“The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the Parchments.”

Sir/Ma, don’t just bury yourself that you have achieved – READ.

I advice you: Reading the Bible is okay but read other books – Get Proven Books!

I can recommend to you the Books of Pastor E.A. Adeboye.

I can recommend that there are struggles he has been able to overcome.

You don’t need to evade the experience; read about his experience of how he has overcome and you will get it.

In Daniel 9:2, now look at what it says: “In the first year of his reign; I Daniel understood by BOOKS the number of the years, whereof the Word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the Prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.”

… Books, Bible!

There are People God has given Wisdom to be able to understand the Bible – They break it in Pieces!

… And so, READ! – Readers are Leaders!

4. Live on PURPOSE

I am talking about Recover, Reclaim and Redeem your Time.

Live on Purpose.

Daniel 1:8 says: “But Daniel Purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the Portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the Prince of the Eunuchs that he might not defile himself.”

Live life on Purpose!

Jesus, the Loving Master, in John 4:34 says: “Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.”

With the Life of Purpose, you can get to any level:

• MATTHEW – A Government employee, he became an Apostle.
• GIDEON – A common Labourer, he became a Valiant Leader of men.
• JACOB – A Deceiver, a Refugee whose name became Israel. And he became the father of the Twelve (12) Tribes of Israel.
• DEBORAH – A housewife. She became a Judge.

… You don’t have excuse for been a full house wife – Thank God for your life!

• MOSES – A Stammerer, he became a Deliverer.
• JEREMIAH – A child. I am a child, I can not speak. He became a FEARLESS Mouthpiece of God.
• AARON – A Servant, he became God’s Spokesman.
• NICODEMUS – A Pharisee, he became the Defender of Faith.

… They lived a life of Purpose!

• DAVID – A Shepherd boy, he became a King.
• HOSEA – A Marital Failure. He Prophesied to save Israel.
• JOSEPH – The Prisoner, he became a Prime Minister.
• ESTHER – An Orphan; she became a Queen.
• ELIJAH – Homeless man, he became a Mighty Prophet.
• JOSHUA – An Assistant, a Common Houseboy. He became a Conqueror.
• JAMES and JOHN (as it were!) – Common Fishermen: they became Close Disciples of Jesus and were known as “Sons of Thunder”!
• ABRAHAM – Nomad (Common Shepherd). He became Father of Many Nations.
• An unknown girl called MARY (Virgin). She gave birth to the SON of GOD.
• PAUL A Persecutor, a Prisoner became the Greatest Missionary in Israel; Author of two third (⅔) of the Books of the New Testament.

What are you living your life on? Living on PURPOSE is a way of REDEEMING your TIME.

5. Have a Proper KNOWLEDGE of GOD

… Very, very Important!

In Genesis 17:1, the Lord declared to Abraham. He said: “I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou Perfect.”

You must have a KNOWLEDGE of God:

• WHO IS HE? – The Almighty God.
• WHO IS HE? – The Omnipotent, the Omniscient, Omnipresent.
• WHO IS HE? – The Most Holy. The Most POWERFUL.
• WHO IS HE? – A Defender, a ROCK.

And in Daniel 11:32, the Bible says: “And such as do wickedly against the Covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the People that do know their God shall be Strong, and do Exploits.”

Power to do Exploits in Packaged in the Knowledge of knowing God.

Power to do Exploits is one of the Mechanism that God Packaged in the Covenant with Him.

… But the People that DO KNOW THEIR GOD shall be STRONG, and do EXPLOITS.

No wonder Paul said: “That I may KNOW HIM, and the Power of His Resurrection, and the Fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death – Philippians 3:10.

Someone said: “You are a VICTIM of what you are IGNORANT of.”

Failure in life, is ROOTED in IGNORANCE.

And when you read the Book of James 4:8, join it together with Hebrews 11:6. You can top it up with 1 Thessalonians 3:12.

Now, if you mix those Scriptures together, as a Divine Concoction, this is what you will get.

With a DEEPER Faith in Him, and Love towards everyone around, then those who KNOW GOD, are the ones that can generate the following:

… What are they going to generate?

THOSE WHO KNOW GOD CAN GENERATE THE FOLLOWING:

1. They will bring out Something that brings Amazement.
2. They will bring out Solution from the Problems.
3. They will bring out Glory from shambles.
4. They will extract Success out of the Shame of life.
5. They will generate Results that limit the limitations of life.

WHO DO WE FIND FROM THESE PASSAGE?

… So many People!

1. JOSEPH was there: The Knowledge that God is Omnipresent, and that God is not a liar. He is not a man. According to Numbers 23:19 The fact that the Word of God is forever SETTLED – According to Psalms 119:89.

For the mere fact that the Word of God said in Isaiah 55:11-12, that the Word of God that is gone out will come to Fulfilment;

They said, Joseph come and have a free ride of illicit sex – He said No!

Genesis 39:9 says: “There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”

He was not talking about the Master of the house – No wonder, God moved him from Prison to the Palace. Prisoner to Prime Minister.

… Who did I find there?

2. I found ESTHER – a slave who became a Queen of the world at that time.

Because the man who ruled at that time was ruling one hundred and twenty (120) Provinces. And his territory extended to Africa and India – Ruling the whole world.

Esther, she kept herself.

3. DAVID: Whaooo! A Young man who was exposed to all kind of hazard.

He said, when he was standing in that valley to face Goliath, in 1 Samuel 17:32: “And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.”

… Because of the Knowledge of GOD.

And KNOWLEDGE is what you EAT Spiritually that gives you STRENGTH to be able to do EXPLOITS.

I Pray for someone listening to me today or reading now on the Label of DMC: The Power to REDEEM and the Grace to RECOVER your Time, God will give unto you, in the Name of Jesus – Amen!

Remember, you do not have all the time – You are not Melchizedek who has no beginning, who had no end.

You have a TIME FRAME and your time is going, ticking: What you can do today, do not say, I will do it tomorrow.

Where are you Brother? My Sister where are you? How are you Redeeming your Time?

The Bible says in Ephesians 5:15: “See then that ye walk CIRCUMSPECTLY, not as FOOLS, but as wise.

I. Who are you deceiving with your hypocritical life?

II. Who are you deceiving with your secret sins?

III. Who are you deceiving Pretending to be a Saint, while you are a terrible sinner?

… REDEEM YOUR TIME!

Let me conclude: You can control your FUTURE by REDEEMING the TIME.

Forget about what you accomplished yesterday – Yesterday is gone. John 7:6-9 (read on your own)

Let this Season be the time you will never waste. Repent of the bad decisions you have made and ask God for help.

Make the right decisions: God is still expecting a lot from your life.

Oh, somebody says: I am growing OLD. Thank God you are growing OLD. But you can still do something for God.

You need to renew your COMMITMENTS and INVOLVEMENTS in the things of GOD and HUMANITY.

… You will not die now, in Jesus’ Name – Amen!

I know you would say: AMEN! God is the One that owns the Time and Season.

Perhaps you are no longer where you were; Perhaps you are not at the Vintage Position expected of you – REDEEM THE TIME!

ALTAR CALL:

For those of us who are not yet Born Again, it is time for you to: REDEEM THE TIME, because the days are evil.

And you can repent today and confess.

For those of you who are Practicing hypothetical attitude, you can repent today.

… Help me Lord, let me REDEEM my TIME.

And for those of you who want to surrender your today, just Pray: LORD, I am giving my life to You today, just help me. You are my God, I will Love You, I will Serve You. And I will be Your own forever. Thank You!

… Let us Pray together:

PRAY: If you are surrendering your life, just Pray to Him. Tell Him, to help you and give you the Grace to REDEEM the Time.

And I will Pray with you;

PRAYER FOR SALVATION / CLOSING PRAYER

Father Eternal, behold what the People of God are saying in their homes, in their churches, and reading now on the Label of DMC.

I Pray today: Everyone giving their lives to Jesus, save them Oh God and write their names in the “Book of Life”; Forgive their many sins and let them become Your sons and daughters.

For everyone who has made a quality decision like Daniel, to REDEEM the Time; Let it be well with them and let them get Good Things out of their lives.

And Father, when we end our short life here, let us make it to Eternity and let the Name of the Lord be Mightily Praised.

OPENING PRAYER

The God whose Name is Wonderful, we appreciate You for what You have done in this Particular Past one (1) week. You have done it last week from Monday to Sunday, Lord we Thank You.

We are still in the euphoria of that WONDERFUL.

In the New week that we are in especially today -Tuesday, the day of the Digging Deep, we say Thank You!

God Whose Name is called WONDERFUL; we bow our hearts and our heads before our Maker, and we say THANK YOU to You!

The One who can do the impossibility, Thank You!

We want to Pray Lord to You today as we Thank You again; because You are never tired of blessing us.

We are here Oh God together with You in this Digging Deep, we Pray that You who is called Wonderful, deliver Wonderful Things into our lives, in the Name of Jesus!

Turn our DRYNESS TO OPEN HEAVENS and let the Name of the Lord be Mightily Glorified.

Those who are rejoicing for their Healings, rejoicing for Breakthroughs; the enemy will not bastardise it.

And those who are expectant of their own, in this New Week, especially Today – The Digging Deep day: deliver it to them.

I surrender my head, my mouth and my heart to You that I will disappear and You will appear. And Lord, I will not do violent to Your word.

That within the time I have, You will bring Your Word Powerfully and everyone will count it a Privilege to sit at Your Table to Dine and Wine in the Word of God.

Thank You Eternal Father! Holy Spirit, just take over and let Your Counsel and Your Will be fulfilled.

When all these is said and done, let us make it to the Kingdom of Glory.

We Praise the Name of the Lord today again.

And we appreciate our father in the Lord; my own father in the Lord for another great Privilege given to this Young Boy to just stand in the gap and to just take from the few things he has taught us, to be able to teach other People.

Today, we We will be looking at the Book of: 1 KINGS 18:4-46

And we will be talking on: FROM DRYNESS TO OPEN HEAVENS.

1 KINGS 18:41-46;

41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.

42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,

43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.

44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down that the rain stop thee not.

45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

46 And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

… The Lord Bless the Reading and Hearing of His Words, in the Name of Jesus – Amen!

FROM DRYNESS TO OPEN HEAVENS.

There are certain things that happens before moving from Dryness to Open Heavens.

From the story we read here, the foundation of the Problem of famine started when Elijah said in 1 Kings 17:1, when he said: There will not be any dew, there will not be rain – until I bring word back gain.

… That’s what he said.

1 Kings 17:1 says: “And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.”

And that was what happened: for a Period of three and half (3½) years – There was TOTAL DRYNESS in the land!

Let me say this, before I go into what we have for today:

Sometimes in our journeys of life, our Prayers appear to be hitting the rock like BRASS as the Heaven seems to be closed against us.

And that is why we come to Church, that is why study the Bible. That is why from time to time we appear in various Programmes, so that Heaven can bring rain.

After Elijah’s declaration, the whole land became DRY and famine was the order of the day!

In 2 Kings Chapter 18, we see how the Word of the Lord came unto him again to declare back.

God is not a man that He should lie – God is so compassionate.

God had to compel Elijah; because as soon as Elijah made the declaration, God took him to where he will be getting his food and water while the whole country was thrown into DRYNESS.

And so God told him: ‘Go back!’

That is to show that God is a compassionate God.

In Joel 2:25, it says: God will bring RESTORATION.

Look at what He says in that Joel 2:25 (NKJV);

“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you.”

God is saying to someone: You are about to experience a New Dimension of a New Glory – Amen.

And I Pray, that from this day onwards, that will be your Portion, in the Name of Jesus – Amen!

Let me say this, before I say few other things:

It is disastrous, dangerous (I mean) for someone to live under a CLOSED HEAVEN

And it is a very difficult situation, frustration to live under Closed Heavens.

And that was the situation of the People of Israel.

Maybe your situation is like that;

I Pray for you today (if your Amen will be loud enough): God will turn your DRYNESS to OPEN HEAVEN, in the Name of Jesus – AMEN!

… I repeat it again:

God will turn your DRYNESS to OPEN HEAVEN, in the Name of Jesus – AMEN!

WHAT IS THE DANGER OF LIVING UNDER A CLOSED HEAVEN?

1. The land will be PARCH and DRY and there will not be any Harvest – Jeremiah 51:36.

… What is the DANGER of living under a Closed Heaven?

2. Every Seed will be BURNED for lack of rain.

Put the seed in the ground – burned!

Psalms 105:32 tells us that: When the land is DRY, nothing can Germinate.

… What is the DANGER?

3. Efforts and Time spent will become Nothing.

The farmer will look like a lazy fellow. The worker will look like somebody who doesn’t have Strength.

Now, in the Book of Luke 5:1-7; the man called Peter – a Professional Fisherman. He looked like a lazy fellow because he had nothing to show forth.

That is because he was operating under a Closed Heaven!

… What happens when your Heaven is closed?

4. It means the Earth is SHUT against that fellow – Isaiah 22:22.

… What is the DANGER?

5. ALL forms of Help are suspended from every sides.

2 Kings 6:27 – From left, no help. From right, no help. That is a sign!

Have you noticed while others are Prospering (in the land of the living) some are Struggling?

… It is as a result of Closed Heaven.

I Pray for someone today (if you care to say Amen): Every Closed Heaven over your life, the Lord will open it, in the Name of Jesus – Amen!

Let me repeat that Prayer: God will open your Closed Heaven, in the Name of Jesus – Amen!

6. A Person’s Prayer will not be Answered.

When someone’s Heaven is Closed; he will Pray and Fast – but nothing to show for it. Nothing!

So they will ask him: But you go to Church? That is where so and so is going – and they Prosper. Look at you!

And that Person finds you in Church: it is because of Closed Heaven.

In Psalms 61:1, David was actually Praying to God: “Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my Prayer.”

And I Pray: that the ears of God will not be shut against your Prayers in the Name of Jesus – Amen!

… When someone’s Heaven is CLOSED;”

7. The Book of Remembrance will be CLOSED against the Person.

They will not remember him! They remember everyone, but this fellow – they will not remembered him or her.

That was the situation that happened to Joseph – Joseph interpreted a dream, and he told the man; you know I came into this Prison without committing any evil.

The man said: as soon as I’m released, I will mention the Matter before the King. But he forgot for two (2) years!

Do you know that it was by Divine Intervention that David – in 1 Samuel 16:11-14, only by the Grace of God was he remembered.

Forgotten in the wilderness – take care! If you can die there, Die! If you can Perish there, Perish!

But do you know that God remembered him?

I Pray: that this Particular day – Because the Word of God has Promised that He will do a New and a Greater things in your life: You shall be remembered in the Name of Jesus – Amen!

In Zephaniah 3:20, look at what God is set to do, after that Great Convention of last week – Look at it:

“At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all People of the Earth, when I turn back your Captivity before your eyes, saith the Lord.”

God is saying to you; He will UNDO the work of AFFLICTION (He will UNDO it) and make your name a REFERENCE POINT of His Glory.

… I receive it to myself in Jesus’ Name – Amen!

God has done it before; He rescued His own People in the land of Captivity.

Read Genesis 28:12-15; you will see God appearing to Jacob through the Open Heavens experience – Now, he experienced Open Heavens – Angels are Ascending and Descending to him at Bethel.

But let me say this: You must STOP Playing Games with God. Settle with Him!

You have tried to fix that situation; you can’t fix it, because you didn’t create it yourself:

He determines the date of your birth, the date of your death is in His Palm – Whenever He wants you to finish your assignments here on Earth, that is when you will finish.

So, don’t fix it by your knowledge, you can’t do it because each time you fix it by your knowledge, you hit the rock.

Why don’t you allow God to handle it?

How did Elijah handle his Closed Heaven?

HOW DID HE SECURE AN OPEN HEAVEN?

I will mention Three (3) Things, and I will mention few things to us:

What he did in his time, and what we need to do in our own time!

HOW DID HE SECURE AN OPEN HEAVEN – IN HIS DAYS?

1. He arranged things and put the Altar in order – I Kings 18:30. … He arranged things and put the Altar in Order.

You need to rearrange things yourself.

Blessing does not drop on a Broken or a Scattered ALTAR.

Your life is an ALTAR, GOD is a God of ORDER: Details and Principles mattered to Him.

And until your Altar is Repaired, Heaven may not be Open.

Your Altar of INTIMACY with God must be REPAIRED – Because the Bible says: “Whosoever BREAKS the edge, serpent will BITE.

It is because your Altar is damaged, that is why all kinds of Affliction and Rottenness came in.

… What did he do (this Great Prophet of God)?

2. He CALLED on God of Heaven.

After he had REPAIRED the Altar, he CALLED on God of Heaven, and the FIRE fell.

In Psalms 55:16, the Bible talks about Getting the Altar REPAIRED, before you Call on God.

… What did he do (I am talking about Elijah)?

3. After the Altar was repaired, He LAID all the meat on the Altar, and he PERSISTED in PRAYER until the rain Poured down from Heaven.

It is not just Preparing the Altar, it is not just laying the Bullock; you also need to PERSIST in PRAYER.

What I do (in my own Time) to secure an Open Heaven?

Altars must be REPAIRED in your life and there are various Altars you need to REPAIR:

1. You need to Repair the Altar of SACRIFICIAL GIVING.

In Malachi 3:10, He says: Bring all the Tithes to My House.

When you want a Breakthrough in the area of Money, you need to repair the Altar of Sacrificial Giving.

It is not something we talk about in our days; we only talk about our Needs.

In fact, some People have the Ministry of attacking ‘Giving in Church’ and they are Poor – Soliciting on the Internet, Computer and Telephone.

No wonder they are Poor – Baggers on the Internet.

… What did you need to do (in your own time) to Secure Open Heaven?

2. You need to Repair the Altar of your PRIORITIES.

The Bible says in Matthew 6:24: “No man can serve two Masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”

You cannot serve God and Mammon.

Money has tendency to be worshipped; but God says you can’t serve God and Mammon.

3. You need to Repair the Altar of DOUBLE MINDEDNESS.

God can do anything!

James 1:6-8 says: “A double minded man can’t receive anything from God.”

4. You need to Repair the Altar of your FAITH.

A strong Faith is a necessity for Increase.

Because Hebrews 11:6 says that’ “Without Faith it is impossible to Please Him.”

“Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” – Hebrews 11:1

… You need to repair the Altar!

5. You need to Repair the Altar of your RELATIONSHIP with God.

Walk Right with God!

You need to walk in the steps that God has mapped our for you.

2 Chronicles 7:17-18, God of Heaven told a King: If you walk in the steps of your father, David, then you will not lack People on the Throne that I have ordained for your father.

6. You need to Repair the Altar of PURITY.

1 Peter 1:16 says: “Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”

That is a Message we don’t hear too often among Preachers today: Be ye Holy; for I am Holy.

And I Thank God for my father in the Lord – The Apostle of Holiness; give him any Topic to Preach on, he will end up in Holiness.

Tell him to Preach on Deliverance – Holiness; Security – Holiness!

And that is it because God is Holy and you need to repair the Altar.

… Like Father, like son!

Everyone that has given his or life to Jesus, the Bible says: He gives Power to become sons and daughters of God.”

That is on the Book of John 1:12.

And if God is our Father, and God is Holy; why not you? Why not me?

7. You need to Repair the Altar of CONFESSION. Altar of PROFESSION, Holding Fast POSITIVELY.

Job 22:28 says that: You will Declare a thing, and it shall be established unto you.

THINGS THAT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU WHEN DRYNESS TURNS TO OPEN HEAVEN.

*Just as it was for the man called Mordecai (in Esther Chapter 6) and many other People who for experienced that in the Bible

Now, when the Heaven is OPEN over your life:

1. Helpers of Destiny will be looking for you with a “SENSE of URGENCY”.

Because the King said in Esther 6:4-6: Is anybody there? They said Haman. What shall be done to the man I want to honour? Haman suggested it.

Another Prayer that I need to Pray is that: God will use your enemies to suggest your Blessings – Amen.

… And the King said: Everything you have suggested, go and do unto Mordecai (the Gatekeeper) URGENTLY!

The same thing happened to David in 1 Samuel 16:11.

Samuel said: We are not going to sit down until that Boy comes!

So, when your Heaven is Opened, Helpers of Destiny will be looking for you, and with a Sense of Urgency.

… When your Heaven is OPEN:

2. Honour and Dignity will be given to a Nameless Person like your, like myself.

Psalms 21:5 says: “His Glory is great in thy Salvation: Honour and Majesty hast thou laid upon him.”

Although nobody recognized you, nobody knows you. Although nobody cherish the way God is doing things in your life but when your Heaven is Opened, they cannot but Perform!

And I am Praying that this Season (a New week after the Convention): Your Book of Remembrance will be Opened in the Name of Jesus – Amen.

3. Unprecedented PROMOTION.

… From Gate Keeper to a Chief of Staff.

You know why?

According to Psalms 75:5-6; the Bible says: “For Promotion cometh neither from the East, nor from the West, nor from the South.”

… From Heaven! – And that is the Throne of God!

So, Mordecai from being a Gatekeeper to an official Chief of Staff of the Palace.

4. TOTAL RESTORATION

According to Joel 2:25-28, God says: He will restore you ALL THE WASTED YEARS.

All, not just a few, but All.

That was what God did for the man called Jacob.

In Genesis 28:10-19, he called the name of the Place where God revealed Himself to him, Bethel – The Place where he had a Memorable Encounter.

And I Pray for you, this Particular week (not another week); this Particular night (not another night): You will have an Encounter of RESTORATION, in the a Name of Jesus – Amen.

5. MEMORABLE ENCOUNTER

Jacob had an “Unusual Encounter”.

Memorable Encounter where you do a little thing, and have massive DIVIDENDS.

When you do so, People will just look at you, as they looked at Joseph and say: I don’t know what to do with you; but take my Authority and just Rule the Land.

That is why your Heaven must be OPEN.

Just as He Promised Jacob, God has Promised you likewise.

WHAT DID GOD PROMISE YOU?

Look at what He Promised you in Genesis 28:12-14:

1. That He will give you your ALLOTTED PORTION in this Land.

You didn’t beg God to create you; why should you suffer all your life, barely making it – Why?

… What did He Promise you – Genesis 28:14?

It says: “And thy seed shall be as the dust of the Earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the West, and to the East, and to the North, and to the South: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.”

2. That means He will cause you to experience MULTIPLICATION.

That is what Open Heaven can do!

… What did He Promise you?

“You seed will SPREAD Abroad to the East, to the West, to the North, to the South.”

3. That means He will cause you to experience EXPANSION and become a BLESSING.

… What did He Promise to do?

Look at what He said: “Through your seed, all the families of the Earth be Blessed.”

4. He Promised He will be with you; He will never forsake you.

But there is the need for you to respond.

Because whether your Heaven will be Opened or not, is likely dependent on you – not upon God.

… You need to Respond.

HOW DO YOU RESPOND TO THESE?

*Now, there are few things you need to do. I will not discuss them. I will just mention them.

1. You need to make a QUALITY DECISION.

Make a Quality Decision – Enough is Enough of operating under Closed Heaven.

Yes, I know God dwells in you, but I want to say and submit to you with (with all humility):

Your life is not the life of God, it is your own life – So, whether you suffer Affliction, Oppression, Depression, Obsession: it is not God.

There must be a “Quality Decision”.

In Daniel 1:8, Daniel Purpose in his heart.

Look at Jabez said to himself: No, I can’t go on like this anymore. Enough is enough! – 1 Chronicles 4:9-10

… You have to make up your mind!

Jacob – just like somebody said: “Jacob is a Name, but Israel is a Nation.

And when you read that Particular Story in Genesis 32:24-28; the man called Jacob said: ENOUGH!

So there must be a QUALITY DECISION. That is Number 1.

2. You need to get connected Properly to God.

Just as Elijah Prepared the Altar – Just don’t get involved in the Church for the sake of getting involved.

No! You must be totally involved – Everything in you must be involved.

If God is God, serve Him: With all your heart, with all your soul, everything!

No wonder Paul admonished us in Romans 12:1-3. He said:

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the Mercies of God, that ye Present your bodies a Living Sacrifice, Holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may Prove what is that Good, and acceptable, and Perfect, Will of God. For I say, through the Grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of Faith.”

Make sure that your life is offered unto Him as a Living Sacrifice – Get connected to Him!

And if you are hearing me, you are not yet Born Again. It is time for you to return to Him and stop hypocritical attitudes.

You go to Church almost all the time, you Pretend you are a Christian, but you are not!

You need to just get yourself hooked to Him. Connect yourself to Him.

3. To secure your Heaven OPEN, there must be PRAYER. Luke 18;1; John 16:24; John 14:13-14.

Quality Decision, Repair your Altar; and Part of repairing your Altar is to give your life to Him.

And if you have been Born Again, but nothing seams to be happening; it is to rededicate yourself to Him.

… And the third (3rd) thing is to Pray.

Nothing moves in life except somebody moves it; and everything answer to the Power of Prayer.

Elijah, after repairing the Altar, he had to Pray.

And the Bible says to us in Luke 18:1:

“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to Pray, and not to Faint;”

When Jesus was talking in John 16:24, He said: “Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: Ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”

And you know in John 14:13-14, He said: “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my Name, that will I do, that the Father may be Glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”

You might be experiencing DRYNESS, PARCHMENT; God is calling you today: Repair your Altar by stepping up your Service to Him.

Are you Fellowshipping with the Baal of this world?

I mean, if God is God, serve Him; if Baal is god, serve him.

But God is the God of Heaven and Earth.

In Isaiah 51:11, the Bible says:

“Therefore the Redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting Joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain Gladness and Joy; and Sorrow and Mourning shall flee away.”

And in Psalms 5:12; He says: “For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.”

It is time for you to Secure OPEN HEAVEN.

This Season that we just closed our Annual Convention and a New Week: Your Heaven must be OPENED – Amen.

*And it is time for you to say okay, God I didn’t have Testimony during Convention, give me my own now – Amen.

Or I have a Testimony, Lord Protect my Testimony – Amen.

Lord, I want to experience something New; something great must happen in my life – Amen.

It is your turn to move from DRYNESS to OPEN HEAVEN. And God is still in the Business of opening Heavens; He can open yours too – Amen!

Shall be bow our head as we Pray!

ALTAR CALL

If you are there, and you have not given your life to Christ, I want you to talk to Him:

Lord save me, I am Yours. I surrender my life to you, forgive my sins.

Lord take me as your son and daughter. Give me the Power to serve you.

And if you have been Bord Again, you are going through DRYNESS. Tell the Lord: it is my turn to experience OPEN HEAVEN.

And I can guarantee you, God will do it for you – Amen.

I will Pray now!

PRAYER FOR SALVATION AND CLOSING PRAYER.

External Father, I asked You before I came in today into this particular Altar: “What will I say?”

… And You have given the Word.

I am not just speaking to the People, I am speaking to myself;

I Pray that all of us who are here (and all those reading now on the Label of DMC); all those who have confessed their sins; Please Forgive them, wash them clean with Your Blood and write their names in the “Book of Life.” Give them the Power to serve You to the end.

And Lord Almighty, all those who are already Believers, but their Heaven is Closed; I Pray today, as they Repair their Altar and make Quality Decision for you; Please answer their Prayers and Open their Heaven. And let them enjoy the Benefits of Serving God.

And we Pray Lord, the rest of our lives shall be under OPEN HEAVENS: with Joy and Healing and Blessings to the Glory of the Holy Name of the Lord.

Thank You Eternal Father!

And when the Roll is Call up Yonder in Heaven, help us to make it there.

We Thank You Oh God that Heaven cannot contain You; the world is Your footstool. But mysteriously, You dwell in our hearts!

What a Loving God that we serve! Why we were yet sinners, You loved us. Now that we are Your People, we have become Your Favourites.

We Thank You Lord, that Your Everlasting Love is forever settled – We say THANK YOU.

We appreciate You today for bringing us into the Digging Deep time; Thank You for the opportunity You have given unto us to Study Your Word.

And we bless Your Name for our daddy in the Lord who gave us this Privilege – We are not taking it for granted.

And we are saying Oh God: as You Bless the People, You will Bless our father in the Lord.

And Lord today, I’m standing here – not representing myself, but to be a Mouthpiece for God and represent my Leader.

Please, take Possession of my heart, my mouth and my head. I don’t want to do Violence against Your Word.

Please, Holy Spirit: take over my mouth Oh Lord! And let the People of God receive their Blessings.

I Pray that the Word of God will Heal, will Comfort, will bring Salvation, will bring Liberty. Whatever it is that has locked them out of their Blessings; Let the word remove the Barriers, in the Name of Jesus.

And let there be Freedom and Liberty to serve God; to enjoy the things that God has Provided for us; and to finish Strong and finish Well to the Glory of Your Name!

Please, empower Your Words, and let it bring Blessing.

Even me that You are using my mouth – let me also get my Blessings by the time You are using my mouth.

Holy Spirit, take all the Glory! God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit Himself – take the Glory!

We want to Appreciate God for the Privilege, my father in the Lord has given to me to be able to come round – this Particular Season, to be able to Teach the little he has taught me.

All those things my father teaches, that I’m really downloading in my own words.

Now, today we want to Dig Deep on: “PRIDE HUMILIATES, HUMILITY ELEVATES.”

Now, in the Book of PSALMS 149:4; 1 PETER 3:4 AND MATTHEW 5:5.

… I will read all in the New King James Version (very, very Powerful).

PSALMS 149:4:

*”For the Lord takes Pleasure in His People; He will beautify the Humble with Salvation.”

1 PETER 3:4:

“Rather let it be the hidden Person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very Precious in the sight of God”.

… Now, Matthew 5:5 (the words of the Master Himself):

“Blessed are the Meek, for they shall inherit the Earth”.

The Lord Bless the Reading, and Hearing of His Words, in the Name of Jesus – Amen.

Today, we want to look at The Essential Virtues of the Christian Life called HUMILITY.

But you can’t talk about Humility without alluding to the fact that: The opposite of Humility is PRIDE.

So, the DESTROYER, as we know – is running after EVERYONE!

And the only one that he can catch is the man or the woman who doesn’t dwell SAFELY.

And the only one he cannot catch is the one that DWELLS SAFELY in the Secret Place of the Lord!

In Psalms 91:1, the Bible says: “He that dwelleth in the Secret Place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”.

And It is better to be SAVED than to be Sorry!

Now, it is dangerous to assumed that you are dwelling in the Secret Place, when you are not!

So, this Safety is FREE and does not cost anything (as of were!)

But, there are certain Virtues that will surely guaranteed your Safety in the middle of dangerous and critical times (especially the Period we are!)

And one (1) of such Attributes is HUMILITY – Very Important!

When we talk about the Christian Grace, it is a Virtue that accompanies Salvation.

Pride is the opposite!

And it is sure to being anyone down, anyday!

You cannot be Proud and enjoy the Blessings of God.

… And many people are PROUD, but they don’t know it.

And Pride is simply, our refusal to acknowledge God as we should!

It is failing to realize (FULLY) that all our ability and achievement, where we are; our Possession, our Relationship is not as a result of our Judgement or Wisdom.

… No, it is not because we are smart – They are GIFT OF GRACE from the Sovereign God.

And according to the Bible; the root cause of the Problems in our lives and People, is Pride.

And I know that is not New!

In fact, this Problem first (1st) Surfaced in the Garden of Eden.

… That was what happened there!

Although way, way back when Lucifer rebelled in Heaven; it was this Particular Pride.

So, the Problem with Pride is that: Not only does it rob us of meaningful Relationship with others, but even so with the Almighty God.

And so, throughout the Scriptures, there are Lessons on HUMILITY and how not to be PROUD!

In James 4:6, the Bible says: “God opposes the PROUD and gives Grace to the HUMBLE.”

… I like that!

There was a Theologian, Literature Philosopher called C.S Lewis – While answering a question he was asked, he said:

“If anyone would like to acquire HUMILITY, I can tell him the first (1st) step. And the first (1st) is – TO REALIZE THAT ONE IS PROUD.”

… This is very, very CLEAR!

And there are many stories alluded to someone called Esso; we don’t really know whether is he or she. But we read that the fellow was a slave in those days – who loved telling Stories.

Through the stories told, the fellow was released from Slavery and the stories told by him/her are still referred to till today.

A Book was also written “ESSO FABLES” – And one of the Stories (with a lesson) is the story about the Wolf and the Lion:

The wolf was walking on the Mountain (at the going down of the sun), and it saw the reflection of its image (shadow) by the evening sun and it was really big.

So, when it saw the ‘BIG’ shadow of itself, it said: Oh, so I’m this ‘BIG?’

Then why do I always run from the Lion?

The (false) image of itself occupied its mind such that when the Lion approached, it refused to run. Alas! – The lion overpowered it, and it was too late to realise what befell it.

… Because it had an exaggerated image of itself (caused by PRIDE) – which led to its Untimely End.

What I’m saying is that Pride (as it were) anyday, anytime – will lead to destruction.

There was a man called St Augustine in AD 300 – He gave a famous answer to the People who went to him.

They said: St. Augustine, we want to ask you a question, and we want you to answer us;

“What is the No. 1 important Christian Grace?

He said to them – HUMILITY!

And they said to him: What about the Second (2nd) and the third (3rd)?

He answered the same: HUMILITY!

So, walking with God requires you to underscore this very important Attribute of Humility.

In Amos 3:3, the Bible says: “Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?”

And according to Proverbs 6:16-17 – God has what He calls ‘HATE LIST’ – Abomination List:

“These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood.

Do you know that the first (1st) thing mentioned there is a ‘PROUD LOOK.’

There is a Pride of FACE, Pride of GRACE and Pride of PLACE!

… But we are not going in that direction today.

Now, the “PRIDE OF FACE” is: ‘How beautiful I am, how handsome you are.’

“PRIDE OF GRACE” is: ‘You know how Spiritual I am. You know Anointed I am’ (and they begin to Speak in Tongue).

And “PRIDE OF PLACE” is: where you were born or tribe – ‘I come from so and so Place.’

You see, we are all the Unique Human Beings.

You know a Proud Person may not be aware of it until he or she is told.

It takes a Humble Person – Particularly when they achieved things (others are yet to achieve) to be able to remain lowly.

It takes strength to be Level Headed; to be truly Humble.

And that was the case of Satan – He was so beautiful (the son of the morning). And so because of his Beauty and Wisdom, he was PROUD – and God kicked him out of Heaven. And the Cherubim covering the Throne of God, suddenly became estranged – a Vagabond without a Place (Ezekiel 28:14-19).

Let me say this, the first thing I want to Build on is:

Pride is the MOTHER of all sins – Pride was the first (1st sin) ever committed.

… Therefore, all sins were conceived in it.

Lucifer dabbled into “Self Exaltation” because he thought TOO HIGH of himself.

Anytime you think “Too High” of yourself, you are heading for the ditch!

Now, look at what he said in Isaiah 14:13-14:

“For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into Heaven, I will exalt my Throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the Mount of the Congregation, in the sides of the North: I will ascend above the Heights of the Clouds; I will be like the Most High.”

… And God said: Your Place is no longer here! – Kicked him out of Heaven.

And as it is with all the People living with Pride; Satan has an ‘I’ sight problem.

… Five (5) times in that Passage, he said “I WILL”.

… And God’s WILL is Hreater.

“I Will” and God cast his will DOWN!

And so, the ‘Son of Morning’ became the father of all Liars – John 8:44.

And he became the Accuser of Brethren – Revelation 12:10.

… Because he is the Originator of Pride.

Every sin has its foundation in PRIDE; because all sin is willful deviance of God’s Law.

RANDOM THOUGHTS ON PRIDE AND HUMILITY.

1. Pride is on God’s ‘HATES’ List.

Proverbs 6:16-17 says: “These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A PROUD LOOK, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,”

2 God expects us to have Humility of Mind.

Colossians 3:12 says: “Put on therefore, as the Elect of God, Holy and beloved, bowels of Mercies, kindness, HUMBLENESS of mind, meekness, longsuffering;”

3. The Hallmark of “True Humility” is Obedient to God and His Words.

In 2 Chronicles 36:12; Hezekiah, a Man of God – he refused to humble himself; and he ended up BADLY.

4. JESUS is an epitome of “True Humility”.

Philippians 2:5 and 8 says: “Let this Mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross”.

5. God wants us to serve Him with Humility of Mind.

Acts 20:19 says: “Serving the LORD with all HUMILITY OF MIND, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews”.

… Apostle Paul was talking there!

So, those are the Five (5) Random thoughts about Humility and Pride.

WHAT ARE THE MANIFESTATIONS OF PRIDE?

… I will quickly go over Seven (7) of them:

1. Pride shows up in words:

It has an undue emphasis on ‘ME’, ‘MYSELF’ and ‘I’.

Isaiah 14:12-17 and Deuteronomy 8:2.

2. Undue emphasis on what you Possess and have Achieved.

‘Ah! I have done this, I have done that!’

Isaiah 14:12-17

3. Undue emphasis on your Plans for the Future

… God owns the future.

Those of you who say, tomorrow we will do this, we will that!

James 4:13-16.

… Today is your Opportunity Day!

4. Undue emphasis on Achievements.

There is nothing you Possess in life that is not given to by God.

Isaiah 14:12-17

5. Undue emphasis on what you Wear .

You know some People (before going to Church) would wait until Service is Full Capacity.

And they will wear their shoes, make sure everywhere is Silence and then they walk in.

When you wear normal attire, nobody notice; but when your attire is seductive flamboyant – everybody turn to see.

1 Peter 3:3-4; Colossians 3:12 and 1 Peter 5:5.

6. Disrespect to other People – Particularly your Spouse and Children.

1 Peter 2:17 says: “Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king”.

Respect begets respect!

Honour People and they will in turn Honour you – Members of your family inclusive.

7. Constant Criticising of others.

It is a very hard thing for somebody who is Proud to bear others around him/her – Criticising others! You can’t live with their expectations.

There was a King in the Bible – the King of Israel. In 1 Kings 22:8;

“And the King of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he doth not Prophesy Good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the klKing say so”.

… That’s a sign of PRIDE – Those who go to where People Praise them.

These People only Praise you to the Pit and when you fall into the Pit, it is those same People will laugh at you!

The SUREST Sign of Pride is when you find yourself constantly Passing Judgement on others.

You cannot criticise others without elevating yourself to the Position of ‘Chief Critics”.

… When you Judge the Law, you are not keeping the Law!

There is an example of a mother and her teenage children going home after Service.

The Youths who came with a car to Church, increased the volume of the Music. And the mother said to the teenager in her car: ‘These Youths should have at least allowed us leave the Church before playing the Music so loud.’

And one of the wise Teenagers in her car said: ‘Mom, look at you, you can’t even wait to get out of the Church before you start criticising the Youth.’

A Proud Person is indifference to others, with a sense of arrogance and superiority; they have become a kind of SELF Idolaters!

So, the Proud expects “Special Considerations” in different opinion; they want their opinions to always be considered.

They rarely can believe they are WRONG: because they are look down in Pride.

Humility is absolutely essential for Believers who aim to work and GROW in the Lord.

WHY? – Well, without it, we can never be like Christ.

Matthew 11:29 says: “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your Souls”.

The Book of Proverbs is full of wise advice to those who seek to live well.

… You want to live a life Pleasing to God?

Of course, there are things the Bible pen down for us – That is HUMILITY.

In Proverbs 11:2; the Bible says: “When Pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom”.

It is the Humble, rather than the cooky, Big Headed that are the wise ones!

In Proverbs 15:33; the Bible says: “The fear of the LORD is the instruction of Wisdom; and before Honour is Humility.”

The devil has made the world thinking that SELF Promotion is the in thing!

… Because, Humility is not in the Dictionary of the devil.

God wants His children to be HUMBLE.

Proverbs 22:4 says: “By Humility and the Fear of the LORD are Riches, and Honour, and Life”.

Apostle James was in full agreement with Solomon, when he wrote:

“… God resisteth the Proud, but giveth Grace unto the Humble” – James 4:7

How can we ignore this GREAT NEED of Humility among us? Let’s go to that root of Humility!

Your humility to God is measured by your OBEDIENCE to His Words.

When you clasp with God, His WILL must take over!

Now, when you become Proud, you are too ‘BIG’ for Him to handle.

No Proud Person can walk with God because God can’t exalt People who are Proud!

LIST OF QUESTIONS TO NOTE.

There are few Questions I need to ask before we continue.

And there are questions I want you to take note of:

1. Am I constantly growing in Trust of God for everything in life?
2. Am I quick to repent when my sin is revealed to me?
3. Do I find it easier to forgive others when I’m offended?
4. Do I desire to make God have CREDITS for all the things I have achieved?
5. Do I think HIGHLY of God?
6. Am I Thankful enough to God?
7. Do I Rejoice with those that rejoice, and weep with those who weeps?
8. Am I open to be taught?
9. Do I Joyfully put myself in situation where I am not in charge?

WHAT IS HUMILITY?

A freedom from arrogance that grows out of recognition that all we are comes from God.

… What is Humility?

Jesus is the Supreme example of Humility and is completely adequate and worthy of emulation – We can EMULATE Him!

Philippians 2:5-8.

BIBLICAL HUMILITY.

Biblical Humility is not belittling one’s self, but exalting the PRAISE of others, especially God and Christ.

… What is Humility?

A Humble Person is one who focuses more on God; rather than in self.

Romans 12:3.

Biblical Humility is also recognition of the fact that: By ourselves we are inadequate and have no Dignity without the Help of God.

Romans 12:3 says: “For I say, through the Grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of Faith.”

And yet, because we are created in God’s image; and Believers are in Christ, we ave infinite worth of Dignity.

… True Humility does not Produce Pride, but GRATITUDE.

HOW DO I WALK IN HUMILITY?

Philippians 2:3 says: “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves”.

1. We must have Right Thinking concerning our Relationship with God (that we have submitted our lives to).

… Your SUBMISSION to Him!

2. We must maintain Right Thinking concerning our Relationship with People.

Today, we live in a world where everything is about Self – We have become Proud in our appearance, in our ability, our achievement.

… We don’t like to be told that we are not doing things well:

We go to Church to be entertained and not to be Discipled – If a Preacher convicts our lives, then we get mad, agitated and leave instead of cleaning up our lives and obeying the word of God.

And Philippians said we have to walk in Humility, Value and Care for other People.

3. We must make sure Humility makes us APPROACHABLE.

There are some people, you can’t approach them – Please, the best of us, with all our Titles; we are still human beings!

… You must be Approachable!

I heard our National Overseer the other day talking, and he was saying: “Everyone of you (Leaders), you MUST be Approachable! “

Even our General Overseer (Pastor E.A Adeboye) you don’t need many formalities.

But those of in our small level; you will fill form.

It is Good to observe all the Protocols; but we must be Approachable.

I mean, something happened when Daddy GO went for a Program in RCCG Region 2.

There was a Particular young boy shouting ‘Daddy GO’ – And Daddy turned back and shook the hands of the young boy.

… When you walk in Humility, you are Approachable.

4. Being Humble allows us to be Peacemakers – Matthew 5:9.

Be a Peacemaker: Humility is not a weakness, it is an inner Strength.

I mean, only a child if God can maintain that “Inner Strength” – You can maintain it in family, in Business, in all facets of life.

5. When we walk in Humility we become Minority.

Don’t be afraid to become a Minority; because people will say, what is his own? What is it?

1 Corinthians 3:16.

It doesn’t matter who is against you, as long as you are with God, it’s okay, it’s fine.

Romans 8:30-31 alluded to that!

That once you are with God, every other thing is Secondary.

6. Humility makes us to be MORE like JESUS.

Study the steps of Jesus and WALK in them (as He walked).

7. Ask God for help.

Luke 14:11 says: “For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted”.

Proverbs 8:17 says: “I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me”.

… You Pray, and God will do it!

WHAT ARE THE BLESSINGS OF HUMILITY?

I will download to us, few of those Blessings:

1. Humility guarantees ANSWERS TO PRAYERS. – Proverbs 10:17.
2. Humility PROMOTES – James 4:10; Isaiah 2:11.
3. God gives GRACE to the Humble. – James 4:6; 1 Peter 5:5.
4. Humility brings DELIVERANCE and HEALING. – 2 Chronicles 32:26 and 1 Kings 21:27-29.
5. God shows FAVOUR to the Humble. – James 4:6 and Proverbs 3:3.

… I know God will give you Favour -Amen; He will give me Favour – Amen.

6. God Pays ATTENTION to the Humble. – Psalms 138:6;

“Though the LORD be High, yet hath He respect unto the Lowly: but the Proud He knoweth afar off”.

… I know that I want God to hear me and to regard me.

7. God REVEALS HIMSELF to the Humble. – Psalms 25:9

“The Meek will He guide in Judgment: and the Meek will He teach His way”.

8. God is CLOSE to the Humble. – Isaiah 57:15.
9. God STRENGTHENS the Humble. – Isaiah 57:15.

Let me start to get all the things together – And I want to say that Humility is worth it because:

God will be with you when you are Humble; God will Help you when you are Humble; God will Bless you when you are Humble.

There was a man, Albert Marcus – A First Century Monk in Egypt.

Satan repeatedly tempted this Monk, but the Monk did not give in.

Satan same to him one day and said: ‘What is your Power Marcus, that makes me Powerless against you?’ – Everything you do, I do: I Fast, I move all about!

And the Monk replied: ‘You are supposed to know!’

An so the devil said to the Monk: he said I now know ‘I can’t defeat you because of your Humility.’

Humility will make God to fortify your life.

My conclusion: What ACTIONS can you take LITERARILY to empty yourself of your RIGHTS and become like a Servant?

I challenge everyone reading this message on the Label of DMC today:

1. That you need to let the Shadow of the Almighty God cover your life.
2. You need to take the Garment of Humility as given to us by Christ.
3. Examine yourself, just as I will do and I’m doing (even as I’m talking!)

Examine yourself, and I will examine myself. And then make adjustments where necessary.

It is not tough, because the Grace of God is available!

HUMILITY is a Divine Virtue and Rules our lives must enter into.

… And when you enters into it, God is there with you.

Now, there is a demon called PRIDE; it restraints its Victim from stepping out for Deliverance – It uses: Arrogance, Self Defence and all the likes.

… I want to say something (and I will close with that):

They asked JESUS our Master in Matthew 18:1-4: Who is the Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?

Jesus said, the HUMBLE is the Greatest!

I Pray (for everyone) today: that God will help us to understand our errors and He will cleanse out faults. Amen.

He will make our hearts to become a Servant’s hearts – Amen.

ALTAR CALL:

If you want to be acceptable to God, and you want to live and fulfill Purpose and Destiny; then you need to be Humble.

It is lack of Humility or Pride that makes you think you don’t need Christ.

You need Christ – somebody died for your sins. You were born in sin, shaped in iniquity but, Somebody Paid the PRICE.

If you will be Humble enough today to surrender your life, I can guaranteed you, He will SAVE you.

And for those of us who are boasting of our Achievements, our Titles, our Money and all the things; you will leave them here!

God gave them to you, you can’t carry anything away!

The best of us, we are still dust – “Dust thou art, DUST thou will return!’

“… Dust am I and DUST I will return!’

But what happens after that? – Our Spirit will communicate with the One who asked us to be Humble.

… Bow your head, I want to Pray with you!

Do you want to surrender your life? I’m Praying a short Prayer.

Do you want to entrust your life in His Hands? – He can do it!

PRAYER FOR SALVATION AND CLOSING PRAYER.

Father, Thank You for Your Words today; Thank You for everyone surrendering their lives.

I ask that the POWER of God will take over, You will FORGIVE their sins, and write their names in the ‘Book of Life’.

And everyone who has realised their errors; Please, the Power to adjust, release to them.

And I Pray that from today that their lives will become ACCEPTABLE to You!

… Thank You Eternal Father!

And when the Roll is call up in Heaven, let us make it there!

We Bless You Lord.

Father God; we Thank You, not everybody is given the privilege to come to the Table of God,.

Thank You for Your Majesty, for Your Holiness, for Your Faithfulness, for Your Generosity and for the Favour You bestowed upon Your own. We say thank You!

What a Great and Mighty God that is capable to do all things. Unto You we have come today.

Lord, as we worship You, every individual family and group of People that have challenges that You need to handle for them – right now as the Word is in our mouth, You will Answer them! And exchange their requests for Testimonies in the Name of Jesus.

We ask Oh God that every homes where they tune to Dove Media watching this Particular Program, or reading now on the Label of DMC: we ask that You will give them their Miracles in the Name of Jesus.

The Power of the Almighty God will follow every individuals to the level where their Miracles will be BEYOND the attack of the enemies, in the Name of Jesus.

In Jesus’ Mighty Name we Pray – Amen!

Today, we are looking at the Topic: LYING TONGUES.

I am going to read two (2) Scriptures – that form the foundation (both in the Old Testament.

Of course, we have quite a lot of Scriptures in the New Testament that actually buttress what we want to discuss today.

So I am reading from Proverbs 6:16-17 and Jeremiah 9:5-8.

Proverbs 6:16-17:

16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

Jeremiah 9:5-8:

5 And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.

6 Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the Lord.

7 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how shall I do for the daughter of my people?

8 Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.

… May the Lord Bless the Reading and Hearing of His Words – Amen!

That Jeremiah, you can read from verse 1-9; but we want to talk about LYING .

Lying means deception in Speech!

Although it is one of the seven (7) Abominations to God (as recorded in Proverbs 6:16-17).

Now, Lying is also common even among the so called Christians because most of them don’t take lying seriously.

Now, people tell lies for various reasons: Sometimes, People lie for fun.

But according to the Bible, ALL forms of lies are Abominable Sin.

We have come to a Point that, in the Nations of the world, nobody expects to hear the Truth.

Spouse lies to each another in the name of keeping Peace.

Parents lies to their children and vice versa.

And Employers to Employees lies to one another.

Politicians tell lies to get Votes.

The Advertisers lie to sell Products:

Misleading is a common Practice in the name of doing business.

And the embarrassing Statistics of lying is very amazing!

In Nigeria, I read a Post Online recently, titled: Ten (10) COMMON Nigeria Lies.

So, there are ‘Common Nigeria Lies’ and some of them are that:

1. Someone who is still at home would say: I’m already on the bike, I’m on my way!
2. Someone who doesn’t want to speak with you (on the Phone) would just be saying: Hello, hello – the NETWORK is Poor!
3. Someone would say: I am not bothered about my missing Phone; but I am bothered about my Sim Card.
4. The Tailors/Seamstress would tell you: your clothes will be ready for collection next week but in the next one (1) month it will not be ready!
5. Somebody will say: I was the best in my Secondary School days – While he was not!
6. And those riding Motorbikes will tell you: Enter, I know your destination. Only for you to discovered along the way, that they don’t!
7. A very “Influential Person” (in my Nation) when they were Passing the Social Media Bill, he said to the Public: I am not aware that there is any Bill on Social Media Passed to the House of Assembly.

… It is all amazing!

Lying is a great Problem or Epidemic; especially in this era.

So, it is there!

And it affects Private Relationships, Family, Social Life, Business Practise, Entertainment, Music, Church.

Everywhere: at Schools, in Shops and Groceries, among Brethren.

I read a Book (few Months ago) – “The Day American told the Truth” by James Parkinson and Peter King.

And they said: Ninety One Percent (91%) of American lies regularly; Sixty Three Percent (63%) men lies, Fifty Two Percent (52%) women lies to Protect themselves. Forty Percent (40%) said they have lied on Job Application.

It shouldn’t be!

As Christians, we are to “Stand Out” in the Society where all these People live!

For the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 10:12 – “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed.”

Ephesians 4:25 says that we need to say the truth.

WHAT IS LYING?

… I’ll give you some few things before I go further.

1. It has root in Falsehood and Deception – To deceive or an attempt to deceive.

That is what it means. Matthew 28:13-15.

… What is lying?

2. It is False Statement Presented as being True.

And whatever Professes to be what is not, is a lie.

In Matthew 23:24-28, the Bible talks about the Scribes and the Pharisees: how they PRETEND to be what they are not!

In 1 Timothy 4:1-2, it talks about what will happens at the End time – People will just speak lies and won’t abide in the Truth.

… What is Lying?

3. There is also a Special Category of Religious Lies.

And it is evident in 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 – False Ministers imitating Satan.

I mean, Satan transforming from time to time as the Angel of Light.

And there are “False Ministers” in our Generation today; who in the name of ‘Serving God’ tell lies without looking back.

Lies may be subtle in Nature. – Galatians 6:3; 1 John 2:3-4.

PHASES/OFFSPRINGS OF LIE.

Here are some of the things often lied with, without even thinking!

I want to quickly mention some of the Offsprings of Lie:

1. Slander is an offspring of lie.

Psalms 101:5 says: “Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a Proud heart will not I suffer.”

This is lying and the intention is to damage the reputation of others.

And once somebody’s reputation is damaged, it is irreparable!

Many People today (Brethren) – in other to Project themselves; damage the reputation of others.

A man got convicted of his sins. He had said so many terrible things about his Pastor. So when he repented, he went to his Pastor to restitute.

The Pastor said: No Problem, go and get a Pillow with feathers – Remove the feathers and put them in all the porches of different houses around you.

As difficult as that sounds, the man did it: he put the feathers in porches of different houses; returned to informed the Pastor that he has done it.

The Pastor said: No, you haven’t! Go back and pick those feathers.

The man said: No! Wind would have blown them off!

The Pastor said: That is how bad it is when you damage somebody’s reputation;

… Once reputation is damaged, it can hardly be repaired!

So, stop Slandering People – It is the Spirit of the End Time; the Spirit of Lying.

2. Tale bearing.

People like to share News; but they don’t bother to confirm if the News is True of False.

They gossip – rumour mongering as they call it.

Don’t spread Lies!

1 Timothy 5:13 says: “And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.”

Leviticus 19:16 says: “Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour; I am the Lord.”

3. Lying by Insinuation.

You don’t actually say it, you are just suggesting it!

4. Flattery:

They hide their Intentions – Insincere Praises. Saying something to the face of somebody ‘I love you but when the Person turns around, they say: Stupid man!’ He doesn’t know I don’t like him.

Salesmen flatter a lot when advertising their Products – One Product cures fifty (50) things. That is a Salesman for you!

Psalms 55:21 says: “The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.”

… So you need to desist from flattery.

5. Half Truth – not telling the whole Truth.

Example is children leaving the house, knowing they are visiting more than one destination.

When their Parents ask them where they are going, they mentioned only the first (1st) Location and failed to inform their Parents of the next Place they intended to visit after leaving the first (1st) Place.

Do you know that is the reason People swear in Court: To tell the Truth and nothing but the Truth!

Half truth is a “Whole Lie”. And the operation of lies comes in many forms but the origin is Satan.

I Pray you will not align your life with Satan, in the Mighty Name of Jesus – Amen!

WHY DO PEOPLE LIE?

Let me quickly run down few things;

1. They do this out of FEAR.

Some lie out of fear because they want to avoid Punishment.

And this is in direct contrast to the Injunction that Jesus gave to us in Luke 12:4-5.

He said: “And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath Power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.”

Human beings can do anything to you on Earth; but what about God who has all Power, and Possession of your Spirit?

2. Some lie to Shift Responsibility or make Excuses.

They want to shift responsibilities!

In Luke 14:18; a Man made a banquet and invited People to come!

Some said: I bought a Farm; and you know banquet is in the evening. He said, I want to go and see the Farm – In the evening?

Another said: I just bought some cattle; I want to go and test them – In the evening?

Some other Person said: I just got married, I cannot come!

And the Bible says that: All with one consent began to MAKE excuses.

The People who just got married, why couldn’t they go there with his or her spouse? – Excuses!

When People want to Lie, they give excuses.

… Why do People tell lie?

3. Some tell lies to hurt someone else.

These are MALICIOUS LIES.

And Colossian 3:8-9 tells us – Lie not one to another.

In Genesis 39:13-24; the wife of Portiphar lied against Joseph.

… You know why?

She wanted Joseph to be Punished for what he didn’t do.

You remembered the case of Peter, in Mark 26:59-61 – Peter denied his Master.

But when the Master looked at him, he said: Oh, I have denied You and he cried!

… Why do people Lie?

4. Some lie in other to get Gain or Advantage.

Acts 5:1-5; Ananias And Sapphira lied in other to gain Reputation but they were destroyed!

… Why do people LIE?

5. They lie to Pretend to Possess Godliness.

1 Timothy 6:5 says: Destitute of the Truth, supporting their Gain with Godliness.

“Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.”

Remember, Matthew 23:27-28, the Scribes and the Pharisees lied to gain Reputation, to gain Honour, to gain Prestige.

What are we saying?

A Dispassionate Analysis shows that there is no reason(s) to lie.

At any rate, the Bible does not support it!

FOUR (4) REASONS WHY GOD HATES LIE.

God makes it abundantly CLEAR, in Exodus 20:15 and Colossians 3:9 that He HATES LIES;

1. Because, Lie is Disgusting to God; it is an Abominable thing.

Proverbs 6:17b – God hates Lying Tongue.

In Psalms 144:11 (I like this:) – “Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:’

Sir/Ma/Leaders especially in Christiandom; be careful of those who call you father because some of them call you father, to deceived you; “My father in the Lord’; but their intention is to Push you and cause you to fall – So be careful!

Be careful of all those calling you father because of what they will gain – That is what the Bible says!

God considers Ministers that lies in the Ministry as the LEAST, in the “Ministry Work”.

Look at what He says in Isaiah 9:15 – God hates ministers that lie.

Jeremiah 23:32 says: God is against those who Prophesy falsely.

2. When one lies, one Puts on “Old Self”.

The Bible says if any man be in Christ he is a New Creature – 2 Corinthians 5:17.

But when a supposedly Born Again Christian lies, then you are putting on your “Old Self” – Colossians 3:9-10.

… Another reason God hates lie is;

3. Because Satan is the father of ALL liars.

Therefore, lying is the ‘Stock in Trade’ of Satan and his children – That is their Trademark!

Now look at it, in Genesis 3 where he deceived Eve – He said: “Has the Lord said…?”

He was questioning the Truthfulness of God.

… That is what the devil does!

“For you shall not surely die.” – In other words, he said to them: God will not Judge you if you sin!

… Thereby questioning the Righteousness of God.

So, Lying questions the Righteousness God, His Truthfulness.

Look at what Satan said concerning Job: Does Job serve you for nothing?

He is questioning the Goodness of GOD.

He said: Well, it is because You are doing something for him, that is why he is serving You.

God hates him, for questioning His Integrity, His Truthfulness and His Goodness.

4. Now, the Pivotal Reason why Lying is very, very disgusting to God is the fact that: HELL is the destination of ALL Liars.

Revelation 21:8 says: *”But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and ALL LIARS,”

… These are categorized as Grievous Sins.

In Revelation 22:15; He is repeating it again: “For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a LIE.”

In 1 Peter 3:10, the Bible says: “For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no GUILE:”

God has warned us not to lie – Be WATCHFUL. Brothers, Sisters, Mothers, Fathers, Children. Be watchful; to avoid being candidates of LIE.

Lying is Systematic, and it comes quite easily.

People lie about Tax, Marriage and even at the Altar of God they give baseless Testimonies.

I have heard some “Gullible Christians” says: My Official Age is this, and my Chronological Age is this!

… You are a Liar!

I have no apology – The truth must be told.

Why should you have two (2) Dates of Birth? Why did you change the Chronological Age to Official Age?

Why haven’t you changed it back and have one REAL AGE? – Since they do Change of Name and Change of Date of Birth?

And People are so Proud to estrange themselves in the iniquity of Lying – May the Lord have Mercy!

HOW TO OVERCOME LIE.

Every Negative Deeds shall be rewarded Positively.

Now look at this:

“Thou shall not commit adultery” could be rephrased: Thou shall be Sexually Pure.

… For the contextual and today’s language.

We could also say: Thou shall tell the Truth, and the Truth is the very Character and Nature of God.

Jesus said: I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life – John 14:6

This same Jesus said: Ye shall know the Truth and the Truth shall make you FREE – John 8:32

The Holy Spirit is called the “SPIRIT OF TRUTH” – John 16:13

… So, what am I driving at?

HOW DO I OVERCOME LIE?

1. LOVE the Truth.

David spoke of the Truth in the Inward Parts.

… I like that Man of God (David)!

In Psalms 51:6, David said: “Behold, thou desirest Truth in the Inward Parts.

You see, a Person is not a liar because he or she tells a lie; People lie because they are Liars!

We need “Inward Change” before the change can manifest Outwardly!

2 Thessalonians 2:10 says: “… Because they received not the love of the Truth, that they might be saved.”

You need to LOVE the Truth!

2. LEARN the Truth.

In Philippians 4:8; the Bible says: “Finally, Brethren, whatsoever things are True, whatsoever things are Honest, whatsoever things are Just, whatsoever things are Pure, whatsoever things are Lovely, whatsoever things are of Good Report; if there be any Praise, think on these things.”

SATURATE your MIND with GOOD THINGS: like the Words of God.

“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the Word of our God shall Stand for ever.” – Isaiah 40:8.

You cannot live by bread alone; But by the Word of God – Luke 4:4.

The Truth sets you free; but not just the Truth, it is the TRUTH THAT YOU KNOW!

That was how Jesus defeated the devil: “It is WRITTEN!”

He defeated the devil by using Scriptures in the wilderness.

So, you need to LOVE the Truth, you need to LEARN the Truth. – And;

3. You need to LIVE with the Truth.

Ephesians 4:25 says: “Wherefore Putting away lying, speak every man Truth with his neighbour.”

You need to speak the Truth; there is nothing truer than the Truth.

And you cannot do anything against the Truth.

You need to LIVE by the Truth! – The life we live today is full of Deception.

People drive cars bought on credit, live in credit houses, carry expensive phones which they don’t have money to maintain.

… LIVE with the Truth!

Many a times the Truth is very bitter; yet you need to LIVE by it!

4. You must be ACCOUNTABLE to others.

Everyone not accountable to someone is not likely to go too far in life.

Everyone I know in the Bible days and our contemporary World who has made it in life, have someone they are accountable to.

Your Marriage should be accountable to someone; your Life and Ministry should be accountable to someone.

You may be saying: But I am accountable to God?

Let me ask you: Have you seen God?

“I’m accountable to Jesus” – You have only read about Him!

But what about the People you see?

We are accountable to God and Human Beings.

Now look at this, in Hebrews 12:9 the Bible says: We have ‘fathers’ that correct us.

Do you have one?

2 Timothy 3:16 says: “All Scriptures are for correction.”

How many times have you delved into the Word? How many times have you made up your mind to Change whenever you hear the Word?

As soon as I mentioned today’s Topic: ‘LYING TONGUE’ some People switched off!

“I thought they will be talking about Prayer, Breakthrough, Healing.”

… This is the Best Healing!

There is this Christian Movie “Incurable Wounds”.

And our father in Lord also told us about a man who lied against someone without confessing the Truth.

He was healed the moment he confessed the truth!

Maybe the real cause of your affliction and trouble are the lies you told and have refused to confess – That might be the reason!

So, be open to others; so that whenever People gossip to you, you stop them immediately; correct yourself, repent and commit to telling the Truth always.

What are we saying?

My admonition to you today is to be reminded that the Bible urges us to speak the Truth always.

He says: LIE NOT to one another!

Lie is one (1) of the things that God hates and abhors.

And it is one (1) of the Little Foxes that spoil the Vine (that spoil the grapes) – Song of Solomon 2:15.

Lie is one (1) of those sins that easily besets us – According to Hebrews 12:1.

And Satan wants to sell you a lie; don’t fall for it like Adam and Eve did!

ALTAR CALL

The devil may tell you: Although there is God, you still have time. There is Heaven, but you still have time.

He may even tell some People ‘there is no Heaven, and there is no Hell.’

He may say: Okay, all those are True, but don’t be in a hurry to repent. You still have time – You are just twenty (20), you are twenty three (23) up to forty (40) years!

Look, we live in a world that you may live long – you just enjoy yourself now, then repent later.

Who told you that you will be alive tomorrow? Death does not kill by age – By how old you are.

I have heard my father in the Lord saying that: Life is turn by turn.

So what are we saying?

We are saying that today is the Appointed Day!

God wants to hear you, God wants to set you free by His Truth.

Do not lie to God that you are not a sinner. Do not lie to God – I’m morally Good! Do not lie to Him.

He knows your heart: “For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.”

… But if you confess to Him today, He will have Mercy on you.

Brothers, Sisters, Pastors, Ministers: If you have missed it; Paid less than what you ought to have Paid as Tithe; you made a Vow and you haven’t fulfilled it; you Promised to buy things for your children and you did not – You can adjust!

… Let’s bow our heads as we Pray!

Talk to God: God, I am yielding my life to You today!

I know You exist, and I know I can be Set Free.

And if you are a Minister or you are Born Again, but you know that there are certain levels of things in your life:

You just lie in Hypocrisy – What you didn’t hear, you said you heard; What they didn’t send you, you said they sent you!

You are using the name of your Leaders to tell lies.

Ah! Tell the Lord: Have Mercy on me and be Truthful.

And I’m going to Pray for you now.

CLOSING PRAYER

Jehovah God; we Worship You and we Adore You!

You are the One who Picked what we need to Speak about today and I have conveyed Your Heart, and I’m also searching myself because the Word of God is a Search Light!

And I asked that everyone confessing their sins today – who want to be Born Again; Please, Save them, receive them unto Yourself and write their names in the “Book of Life” and destroy the power of SIN!

Lord, in the Name of Jesus, give them the Power to serve You.

For all the Brethren, Ministers, Born Again: who at one point or the other have lied or are living “Hypocritical Life”; Lord, we ask that TODAY; You will wash them with Your Blood!

And Lord God Almighty, You will strengthened them by the Power of the Holy Ghost; the Spirit of Truth. And they will be able to fulfil Purpose and Destiny.

And at the end of the day, we will make it to Eternal Life.

Heal all those People who are looking forward to Healing; Bless all those who are looking for Breakthrough. And Lord, let every crisis in that family be cleared, in the Name of Jesus.

And make available the answers to all the requests of Your children.

Thank You Eternal Father; we bless and Praise Your Name!

Today we want to look at: REDISCOVERING THE LIVING WORD OF GOD.

Or simply Titled: THE LIVING WORD OF GOD.

And I’m going to read from two (2) Readings; they are both in the New Testament: Colossians 3:16 and Hebrews 4:12.

Colossians 3:16:
“Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all Wisdom, Singing Psalms and Hymns and Spiritual Songs, with Thankfulness in your hearts to God.”

Hebrews 4:12:
“For the Word of God is Living and Powerful, and sharper than any two-edged Sword.”

The Lord bless the Reading and Hearing of His Words in the Name of Jesus Christ

The whole Bible is one story about JESUS CHRIST of Nazareth:

1. One story of LOVE – the love of God to the entire lost world.
2. One story of HEALING to the bastardized and sick world;
3. One story of SOLUTION to the world that is bewitched with all kinds of challenges.
4. One story of SOLUTIONS to solve the problems of the world.

And that is why the Bible said in the Book of John 5:39 – Jesus said to the Pharisee that the Scriptures bear Witness about ME!

On the road to Emmaus; my father in the Lord referred to it in one of his Sermons not long ago! Jesus took the confused disciples through the Old Testament Scriptures, and showed them certain things that the Scripture has said.

And He said to them in the Book of Luke 24:27 – This is what He said (in all the Scripture) the things concerning Himself.

… He REVEALED to them what the Bible says about Himself:

Jesus Christ is the CENTRAL FIGURE of the WHOLE BIBLE; both in the Old and the New Testaments.

In the Old Testament – He is a Hidden and Anticipated REDEEMER.

In the New Testament – He is REVEALED!

We enjoy the New Covenant.

So the main point of the Bible is that we might come to know Him; we might come to enjoy the saving Grace of the Lord.

That we might come to Experience the Salvation of our Maker.

… So this is a Great Thing!

When you read entire Book of the Letter of Paul to the People of Colossian; it is saying this to us.

Look at what it says in Colossians 1:19 – The Bible says: “In Him all Fullness of God was Pleased to dwell.”

In Colossians 2:15: “In Him God has triumph over all the Power of darkness.”

And in Colossians 2:7, the Bible says: “In Him Believers are rooted, built up and established in Faith.”

So, the Word of Christ – the BIBLE; is God speaking to us ABOUT His Son; God speaking to us THROUGH His Son.

Before the Invention of and the discovery of Theory of Evolution; that was given to us by Charles Dewey: All Christians believed that the Word of God is the MESSAGE of God to Mankind.

But when this Evolution came; some People started diluting the Word of God.

They said: No, it is not the story of Love from God to man; it is our story about God!

They began to argue.

But I’m going to show you three (things, before I go into what the Word of God has to say.

But hear this story (I don’t know if you heard it before) – A young boy was very confused – He gave his life to Christ and was very confused!

His father was an Atheist, the mother happened to be a Christian.

The father instructed the boy and said: No, we are Products of Evolution – Certain Creatures developed, and metamorphosed into human beings.

And this young boy went to his mother and said: Mom, what about you, what do you have to say?

The mother told this young boy: In Genesis 1:27; God made us in His Own Image. Genesis 2:7 also says that God made us in His Own Image.

She quoted to him Psalms 139:14 – We are fearfully and wonderfully made.

So the boy said: Mom, I’m confused! – Who between you and daddy is correct. Is it you or Dad?

The Mom said: both of us are correct.

And the boy said how?

And the mother said: Your Dad is telling you the story of his own familyline; they come from the Generation of Ape and Monkey that metamorphosed into human being;

I come from the Line of God – Who created the Heaven and the Earth.

She said, that is why I’m fearfully and wonderfully made.

And the boy said: Mom, I think I’m from your family. Can’t you see I’m handsome!

So, you are not a Product of Evolution, you are a Product of God’s Living Word!

Now, if the Bible is about our story of God, not the story of Love to us; there are certain things that I want you to take note of – before I go into the main points I want to emphasis on today.

THREE (3) THINGS TO NOTE ABOUT THE LIVING WORD OF GOD:

1. If God has not SPOKEN, His PROMISES are replaced by mere WISHES.

… And the Bible is very CLEAR about God speaking to us.

Now, look at it in
Hebrews 13:5. Think on the Promises He said here: “I will never leave you, nor forsake you.”

In Acts 16:31; “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be SAVED.”

In Philippians 4:19, “My God shall supply all your Need according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus.”

Who said all these things? – God!

If all these Words were SPOKEN by God; then, it is indeed the Word of God. And we can take it to the Bank, then rest and sleep on it!

… But if they are mere wishes, then we have no Hope!

But they are not mere wishes; they are just the clear Words of God – We have SEEN it been demonstrated. Some of us have EXPERIENCED it!

… I have experienced it – to make it REAL.

The next thing I want you to note: because I want to go a little bit into Theology. Not really Theology, but the Introduction to Theology.

2. If God has not SPOKEN, His TRUTH is replaced by MAN’S OPINION.

Now, look at these seven (7) different Passages; I will just mention, I won’t read them out.

Now, the Bible says that God is Gracious, God is Merciful, Slow to anger, Abounding in Love.

These words are repeated not less than seven (7) times in the Old Testament – They are repeated!

Now look at them: Exodus 34:6; Nehemiah 9:7; Psalms 86:15; Psalms 103:8; Psalms 145:8; Joel 2:13; Jonah 4:2.

They are all saying that God is Gracious, Merciful, Slow to anger, Abounding in Love.

These are the Words of God to us.

And if these are not His Words – as they would make us to believe: that it is our story about God;

Then it means those People are just talking from their head, and it may not have any effect!

But if God has not SPOKEN, then you can replace it with Man’s Opinion. And you know, Man’s Opinion changes;

… And that will not sustain our Hope.

3. If God has not SPOKEN, His Welcoming us into Peace, into Joy, into Blessing – will just be a journey to SEEK and to SIN.

That is why you have many People today, who are asking God: We are seeking You, we want to know more!

Yes, when Christ dwells in you, you need to know more!

But to think that you don’t have a way; you already have a way!

The Bible is full of demonstrations; in Isaiah 55:3, it says: “Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting Covenant.”

In James 4:8; the Bible says: “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”

In the Book of Isaiah 1:18; it says “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

Who said all these?

If God mentioned it, and Apostle James also mentioned it, that God is reaching out to us in Love; that means we can come to Him with confidence.

Please, don’t believe otherwise; the Word of God is God.

The Word of God is GOD; the Word of God is LIVING and ACTIVE.

And Page, every Text, every Word from His Holy Book (the Bible) is a RELEASE from the realm of the Invisible.

… His Promises, I mean Peace, Joy, Blessing.

Now, let me zero in on what I want to emphasis on today.

I will quickly mention what the Living Word Produces (Benefits):

WHAT ARE THE PRODUCTS/BENEFITS OF THE LIVING WORD OF GOD?

There are many of them, but I will discuss few of them.

Now, if the Living Word of God handles it, you believe it. And you allow it to have effect on you.

… What are the Things that will happen?

1. The Living Word of God – GIVES YOU VICTORY OVER SIN.

In Psalms 119:9-1, it says: “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy Word. Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

In the Book of 1 John 2:14; that Man of God was talking to the People in that Particular Place.

He said: “I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known Him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the Word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.”

Jesus our loving Saviour – the Word of God Himself: *”In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His Glory, the Glory as of the Only Begotten of the Father,) full of Grace and Truth – John 1:1, 14.

In John 14:6; the Bible says: “He is the Way, the Truth and Life”.

Jesus Himself said in
John 8:31-32: “Ye shall know the Truth and the Truth shall make you Free.”

So, the WORD OF GOD gives you VICTORY over sin!

In Psalms 37:31; the Bible says: “The law of His God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.”

So what are we SAYING? The Word of God makes us aware of sin and keeps us from sliding down a slippery slope.

It doesn’t mean that you will never fail, No! Failure is a Lesson.

Many a times, you fail in life to learn a lesson.

Do you plan to fail? – No!

You just walk, and along the Path there are things there.

… But we need not continue to slide down on that!

Peter, after denying Christ severally; he rose again!

And on the Day of Pentecost, the man came into the Scene, and spoke – and many souls came to the knowledge of God.

The Bible will keep you from SIN, or sin will keep you from the Bible.

So, the Living Word of God gives you Victory over Sin.

2. The Living Word of God – GIVES YOU ANSWERS TO PRAYERS.

Now, in John 15:7, the Bible talks about how you need to react.

He is talking about when you ABIDE in Him; when you are CONNECTED to the Word – then you have Answers to Prayers!

In Proverbs 28:9, the Word of the Lord clearly says: When anyone turns his ears away from hearing the Lord; then his Prayers will be an abomination.

Jesus said: If we continue in the vital relationship with Him; and in His Word, whatever we ask, we will be given.

And if His Words is in us, we can conclude that we will Pray in His Will.

That is what the Book of 1 John 5:14-15 says – It says: “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to His Will, He heareth us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the Petitions that we desired of Him.”

But if we turn our ears from hearing Him, then our Prayers will then become abomination to Him.

May your Prayer not become an abomination – Amen!

Many People Pray today, but you can’t see the effect of the Prayers.

They Pray, they still have difficulties; they Pray, they still live in Poverty.

Maybe you need to check whether the Word of God dwells in you; because it is not just the level of Prayers made; but Who dwells in you!

So, WHEN the Living Word is in operation; Answers to Prayer come.

3.THE WORD PRODUCES PURPOSE IN LIFE.

Are you looking for Purpose in life? – The Word of God is the Only One that can do that.

Now, Jesus was Praying for His Disciples;

And I am one (1) of His Disciples – what about you? We all are DMC Family are also His Disciples.

In John 17:17-18, He says: “Sanctify them through thy Truth: thy Word is Truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.”

So, the Word of God Produces Purpose in Life.

Jesus came into the world to fulfil Purpose.

Likewise, as we study the Word, we find Purpose in Him.

Sanctification is not only setting us apart FROM SIN; but also setting us apart for DIVINE PURPOSE.

So, you want to know God’s Purpose for your Life? You have been wandering in the valley of life?

Except you know the Living Word of God – you are wandering!

… And you will still continue to wander!

But if you know the Living Word of God, you will Fulfil Purpose in life.

You want to know the Purpose for your life?

Delve into the Word until He reveals it to you.

4. THE WORD PRODUCES SPIRITUAL GROWTH.

In Romans 10:13-17; the Bible says: Faith cometh by hearing, hearing by the Word of God.

1 Peter 2:2, it says: “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word, that ye may grow thereby:”

We cannot grow Spiritually without the Word of God.

If you don’t eat, you may not grow; and eventually you will DIE.

And there are two (2) Ways to grow in the Word of God:

I. You Grow into Maturity.

Peter says (in 2 Peter 2:2) we must desire the sincere Milk of the word of God, to GROW!

Oh, you cannot live on Milk Alone; you also need SOLID food – to be healthy.

1 Corinthians 3:1-2; Hebrews 5:12-14, talk about SOLID Food.

Some of us love swallow; the same thing! And that is why some People are stronger than one other.

… You can’t live on Milk alone, you need Solid food.

II. You want to be spiritually healthy? – Then, go into the Word. INCREASE in Faith.

You will be Spiritually matured when you delve into the Word, and your Faith increases.

Where we read before says: Faith cometh by Hearing, and hearing the Word of God. (Romans 10:13-17).

The Disciples said to Jesus in Luke 17:5: Increase your Faith!

Your Faith can be increased in the Word of God.

Your Faith cannot increase without: Personal Study, Digging Deep.

And you need to attend Fellowship – So that you can hear. “Faith cometh by hearing.

… You hear and your Faith develops!

5. THE LIVING WORD DEFEATS THE ENEMY.

In Matthew 4:3-11, the Living Word Himself came to the world, and the devil came to Him.

How did He defeat the devil? – He used the WORD.

He was not afraid: ‘Oh, Lord, I don’t want the devil to come to me again.’

He will come!

In John 10:10 – He has a Mission: “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy :”

You, get on the Word – Let him do his own business, you do yours!

You see, that is why the Bible says: “(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” – 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.

… Not the ‘TOY of our FUNFAIR, but the “WEAPON of our WARFARE.

I like what the Bible says, specifically in Ephesians 6:12.

It says: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against Principalities, against Powers, against the Rulers of the darkness of this world, against Spiritual wickedness in High Places.”

That is why you need to stand! That is why we are talking about the Word of God.

In Hebrew 4:12, it says: “For the word of God is quick, and Powerful, and Sharper than any twoedged sword,”

That is why we are there!

Satan is no match to our Master; Jesus Christ is always the Champion.

I have read in the Scriptures how the devil was ridiculed and humiliated.

And God has equipped us too, to be able to ridicule the devil – So don’t say: ‘I don’t have weapons.’

I tell People anywhere I go: I have POWER, I am not powerless. I have something because He says in His Word (Luke 10:19): “Behold, I give unto you POWER to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

And in Acts 1:8, He said: Ye shall receive POWER.

… I have got something!

I mean in John 1:12; He says: “But as many as received him, to them gave He Power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name:”

You have got it!

So, if you are not Born Again, please make a decision today.

6. THE WORD BRINGS SUCCESS TO LIFE.

You want to be successful? – GO TO THE WORD!

Joshua 1:8 says: “This Book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way Prosperous, and then thou shalt have Good Success.”

In this particular Passage alone, there are five (5) Laws: Laws of Vision, Laws of Learning, Laws of Speaking, Laws of Action

… That’s for another day!

But what I want to emphasis today: You need a success in life? – Then you need to delve into the Word of God.

David – the Great Psalmist. The one who at the age seventeen (17) defeated Goliath; in the Book of Psalms 1:2-3, He said: “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in His law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his Season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall Prosper.”

What are we saying?

You can defeat the enemy by the Word of God; and you can have Success in life.

James 1:25 says: “We have to be DOERS of the Word!”

There was a Book I read; many years ago, when there was the First World War – A woman (in the hit of the battle) was in a small house, in the United Kingdom. And they were bombarding the air, everywhere!

But this woman was sleeping. After everything calmed down, her house was the only building standing, with holes (from bullets) around the building wall.

So, when they noticed some chickens pecking around the house, they concluded there was someone in the house – is the fellow not afraid?

So, a very fierce looking Soldier knocked on the door. And after a very hard knock, a woman came out with her dizzy eyes (around 6am in the morning).

She said: Who is disturbing my sleep?

They said: Are you not afraid?

She said – AFRAID?

She went into the house, brought a Bible and read Psalms 121:3-5:

“Behold, He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy Shade upon thy right hand.”

Then she said: The two (2) of us can not be keeping Watch (awake) – So all I have to do is SLEEP!

She said: When Jesus was in the Boat and their arose a storm, He slept. Those who were not asleep, saw the Storm because they were awake.

She said to the Soldier: Are you done?

He said Yes!

She said, goodbye, I want to go back and sleep.

They said it is not safe.

She said God has saved me hitherto, hence I will not leave here.

That is very, very informative: God Almighty has all it takes to Preserve our lives!

Let me mention quickly few THINGS the Word can do for you – I won’t discuss them:

i. The Word gives COMFORT and HOPE- Romans 15:5.

ii. The Word gives GUIDANCE and DIRECTION – Psalms 119:105.

iii. The word makes You and I COMPETENT COUNSELLORS.

… The above are just additional Points!

7. THE SPOKEN WORD IS POWERFUL.

When you have the Law of LEARNING, you have the Law of SPEAKING.

LEARNING without Speaking is Nothing; Knowledge without Application is a “Useless Knowledge”; Weapons without Usage is Useless.

So, the SPOKEN Word is POWERFUL.

In Isaiah 55:10-11, He said: So shall my Word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto me VOID.

So, when you are going through difficulties; when you are going through certain challenges, like we are now: you need to put the Word in Place.

They woke JESUS up: Don’t You care that we Perish?

He said: You know, you are just troubling yourself!

… Fear has torment: And He has not given us the spirit of fear.

Why are you afraid?

And He stood up and said: PEACE, BE STILL (and there was a great CALM!)

I want you to speak to the situation in your life. I like what the Bible says:

… And I will mention it when I get to: How should react to the
Word of God?

What you speak with your mouth is very important – It is not just enough to read, it is not just enough to memorise, it is not just enough to meditate; you have to SPEAK THE WORD!

What are my responsibilities to the Living Word?

That is what I want to talk about now. And I will mention five (5) Things or so:

WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES TO THE LIVING WORD?

1. YOU NEED TO STUDY THE WORD OF GOD.

2 Timothy 2:15 says you need to STUDY!

Most People are lazy.

They have the knowledge of Psychology, Philosophy, Theology, Physiology but they are Niblically, Illiterates!*

Study the Word of God: “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the Spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the People is grass.” – Isaiah 40:7.

2. You need to MEDITATE – Joshua 1:8.

I’m talking about how you need to respond; your responsibilities to the Living Word.

… You need to STUDY; you need to MEDITATE.

3. You need to SPEAK THE WORD.

… SPEAK the Word!

Help me to tap your neighbour, say: SPEAK THE WORD!

The Bible says in Proverbs 18:21: “Death and Life are in the Power of the TONGUE”

Matthew 12:37 says: “For by thy Words thou shalt be Justified, and by thy Words thou shalt be condemned.”

In the Book of Job 6:25; “How forcible are right Words!”

How can you say: I am sick? – Terrible words!

Let the weak say I AM STRONG! Let the Poor say I AM RICH.

Those are the Words of God – Stop speaking Philosophy; Speak the Word of God.

4. You to put God IN REMEMBRANCE.

Isaiah 43:26, God said: PUT ME in remembrance!

There is nothing you are looking for that is not in the Word – NOTHING! Healing, Joy, Spirituality, Marriage. anything!

Once the Word enters you, it is as Good as been done!

5. You need to Pray the Word.

Pray the Word, don’t Pray Philosophy!

I have heard People who have Prayed: TRAILER, Jam them; Oh, CATERPILLAR bulldoze them!

As good as that is, Pray the Word! – You need to Pray the Word.

There were few People in the Bible who Prayed the Word:

I. The man called JACOB. He took his brother’s birthright; but in Genesis 32:24-28 – he came to himself alone! And he said: No, this is not the Destiny ordained for me.

… And his Destiny was changed!

II. JABEZ was another Person. What did he DO?

He said: I know You are a Good God; I know the Plans you have towards me (Jeremiah 29:11) – This is not the Plan!

And in the Book of 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, he said: Oh GOD, I REFUSE to be unfortunate!

… And he became honoured!

Your LIFE can Change, your SITUATION can Change, your DESTINY can Change.

Life without God and His Word is meaningless and full of sorrow.

Nothing can give us lasting Happiness and Joy than discovering our Purpose and Destination in the WORD OF GOD.

There is no greater Stability in Life than having Peace – according to the Word of God.

There is always Peace that men are Pursuing that you can get through obeying the WORD OF GOD.

The Word of God is LIVING, ACTIVE, POWERFUL and if you hunger and thirst for the WORD: God can DO IT for you.

ALTAR CALL:

if you are not Born Again, Please, make it a date today!

I Beg of you, in the Name of Jesus: don’t waste your life. Don’t waste your life! – COME TO HIM TODAY!

And if you are a Believer: you don’t have time for the Word of God – You have to Pray.

… I Thank God for Prayers and all the likes.

But the WORD OF GOD will help the answers to your Prayer to come FASTER.

Wherever you are, bow your head now: because it is time to Pray.

And if you are giving your life to Jesus, just tell the Lord: I’m giving my life.

And let us know if you are giving your life. Let my father in the Lord know – and he will be Praying for you. And if you need help, let us know!

If you are a Believer, don’t hide – If you are quiet, you will die QUIETLY.

… Shall we PRAY:

PRAYER FOR SALVATION AND CLOSING PRAYER:

Eternal King; we THANK YOU for bringing us Your Word again today;

I Pray for everyone giving their lives wherever they are or reading now on the label of DMC; I Pray that You will SAVE THEM in the Name of JESUS!

Let the Life of God enter into them. Let the LIVING WORD Prove Himself.

And everyone who has been lazy around the Word of God, I Pray You will strengthen them.

Holy Ghost, steer a Revival in their lives!

And let all of us, Oh God, as we Celebrate the Word, as we Exalt the Word; let ANSWERS and MULTIPLE VICTORIES be our Portion.

And when the Roll is called up in Heaven, let us make it!

Thank You Eternal Father! We Worship and we Adore You.

In Jesus’ Most Blessed Name we Pray – AMEN!
