OPENING PRAYER
Our Father and our Lord; we want Thank You.
Thank You for the Past Annual Youth Conventions. Thank You for this Particular One in Year 2020. Thank You for Your Faithfulness. Thank You for the form and the manner in which You started with us.
Thank You for the Session at this time; for what You are set to do.
Lord we trust that through this Program, through this Ministration, lives will be Transformed: You will bring People to the reality of Godliness, You will make us Stars that will be Stars for You.
In every Parts of the world we trust that tonight You will do what You alone can do.
Lord speak to our hearts, speak to our lives and make us the Brand you desired us to be.
Thank You Eternal Father.
In Jesus Mighty Name we Pray – Amen.
I like to bless the Lord for this opportunity to bring the Word of God to us as we bring the Second (2nd) Message today.
We Thank the Lord for giving us the Privilege to see another Annual Youth Convention in RCCG (The Redeemed Christian Church of God).
And all over the world tonight; I want to believed that God is Set to do something in somebody’s life – Amen.
I am ask to talk on: GODLY STAR.
And I will be bringing my Bible Text from the Book of Daniel 6:1-4.
- It Pleased Darius to set over the Kingdom an hundred and twenty Princes, which should be over the whole Kingdom;
- And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the Princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.
- Then this Daniel was Preferred above the Presidents and Princes, because an Excellent Spirit was in him; and the King thought to set him over the whole realm.
- Then the Presidents and Princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.
Hallelujah!
I like to say tonight that we look at two (2) Principal words – GODLY and STAR.
And Godliness and Godly is together.
What does it mean to be Godly?
- To be Godly means to have the life of God in you.
- To be Godly is to be formed after the Image of Christ.
- To be Godly means to have the life of Jesus running inside of you and to have Gods Nature displayed and emanating from you.
According to Numbers 23:19; the Bible says: “God is not a man, that he should lie …”
It simply means that in God’s Nature, you don’t have lies, you don’t have Falsehood in God.
Because of that you discovered that God said in the Bible that: Let all Men be liar, God will always be True.
In God’s Nature, you don’t find lies and Falsehood. And anybody who bears such Nature, such Character is Godly.
Everything you can see in God, once you can see in man, you definitely have God manifesting in His real sense in a Man.
What do we mean when we say somebody is a Star?
Natural Star actually is a “Luminous Ball” that has oxygen, helium inside it and it is sustained by Gravity.
But it is an element that is not living – It is not a Living Organism.
So, if you are combining Godliness with Star; we are actually talking about the context of Human Being,
So, we will be looking away from the Normal Star we see in our Sky which is just an element.
And in the context we are looking at tonight, we are looking at a Man having God living inside of Him and God Producing Himself through that Person until the Person becomes a Star.
You discovered that in every Spheres of life, in every Spheres of influence; there are Stars.
In Education, you have Stars, in Entertainment you have Stars, in Business you have Stars and in Government you have Stars.
Today, if you mentioned few names – Some few names comes to mind readily when you are talking about star in different Spheres of life.
In Business today in Nigeria there are few names that comes to mind and they are considered to be Stars in those Fields or Professions.
In Academics there are Stars, in Technology and Science there are Stars, in Religion there are Stars, in every Field of life there are Stars.
But I want to say tonight that: There are Godly Stars and there are General Stars.
And I will explain that.
In the days of Moses – When Moses was sent to Pharaoh to instruct Pharaoh to release the People of God.
Moses asks for a Sign that he needed to show Pharaoh for the release of the People.
The Bible recorded that he threw the rod down and it turn to serpent.
For Pharaoh, it wasn’t any big deal because he has a lot of Stars that are Magicians that are Miracle Workers in his days – It doesn’t moved him; he just call on them: Come and show Moses what he thought he is doing Specially.
But something ends up the old Story – After they threw their own rod, the Bible recorded that the serpent that was Produced out of the rod of Moses swallowed the rest.
That is what we call: The Godly Star among Stars.
What do you want to say about the incidence that happened in the Book of Daniel, in the days of Nebuchadnezzar?
You have a lot of Astrologers; you have a lot of Star Gazers, Magicians and all Star Readers.
In the days of Daniel, they were all Stars also in their field but Daniel emerged above them all.
God has always designed it in such a manner that in every fields of life; there will be Stars. There will be People that are Shining, they are Outstanding, their Performance is Excellent. It is Noticeable, it is Projected above others.
However, it has been in the Nature of God that in every Field or Profession, in every Spheres of influence, even though there are many Stars, God have love to celebrate His Own Stars that are Godly.
Wherever you have Organization System, there are Stars there. There are People that have Excelled – They have reached some Peak in life, some Zenith that is admirable and enviable.
But God if He has not seen a Godly Stars, God is not fulfilled, God is not satisfied.
It is possible that in Science and Technology; for example in our Country Nigeria; you have a lot of Stars – People that are Outstanding, People that they can Beacon on when it comes to confusion, when things are mixed up, whether there are complexities in some fields to resolve issues.
But if those Stars that can be beacon on are not Godly, God have pain in His heart.
And God always delight that Godly Stars will be Preferred; will be above other Stars.
But wherever you don’t have Godly Stars, one Ungodly Star become a Superior over the Others.
So, in every Spheres of influence, God desire to have Representatives all over the world and where God does not have it, God is still searching.
I am Praying that tonight, wherever you are or reading now on the Label of DMC; God will start a burden in your heart to begin to desire and hunger to become Godly Stars – Amen.
For example:
I. Our father in the Lord, daddy GO (Pastor E.A Adeboye) was a Star in the Academics before he met the Lord.
II. Pastor W.F kumuyi was a Star in Academics in Mathematics when they were in the world, when they have not received Jesus Christ in their life.
They were Stars.
When you are talking about Mathematician they can’t be rubbished, they can’t be Pushed aside – They were Stars.
But when Jesus Christ came into their lives; when they encountered Jesus Christ; when Jesus Christ became their Lord and Saviour of their Souls, when Jesus Christ life became their life, they became a Godly Stars.
Why? – Because what God will begin to do with them is far beyond what He was doing with them when there were just a General and mere Star.
For example: Daddy GO (Pastor E.A Adeboye) once shared with us that there was a time he was doing his PhD and he had a cross road, there was a challenge. And at a Point in time, God needed to use a Story of the Red Sea, the Parting of the Red Sea; a way to resolve a Mathematical Problem.
That is what God could do for a Godly Star.
Ungodly Star cannot solve his Project with such an Encounter because he is not Godly – He can’t access Godly Resources.
So, Godly Stars are People that have God’s life. They can connect with God because God is in them.
So, God can easily connect with them and they can relate with God easily.
The Bible says that: Nobody knows the Mind of God except the Spirit of God that is in man.
So, when the Spirit of God is in man; which is in a Godly Star; he relates with God and when there are challenges they have it solved.
Now I want to say that how do you identify or what are the traits or attributes of Godly Stars?
- According to what we have read; they have Excellent Spirit.
The spirit that runs in them is Special, is Uncommon, is Excellent – Just as we read that in Daniel 6:1-4; the Bible recorded that they couldn’t find fault in Daniel because there was no error.
There are People who go for Excellence as they don’t settle for Mediocrity, they don’t settle for Low Level, they settle for Average.
Once things is not Perfected, they don’t go for it.
They will just want to do things error free.
They are People that have Excellent Spirit and the Spirit of God is Excellent Spirit – There are a lot of Spirits all over the world.
You can have some Stars in Business, in Government, in Education. There may be a Spirit running in them.
There may be some very strange spirit working in them and make them to be Star actually, because all the Astrologers, all the Magicians in the days of Moses in the days of Daniel, there is a Spirit running in them.
There is a spirit that Nebuchadnezzar believed if they consult will give them the revelation of the dream they had.
However such Spirits are not Excellent Spirit.
But for Godly Stars notable thing about them is that: They have Godly Spirit.
- They fear the lord.
This People does not have regards for man when it comes to man competing with God.
When they have to make options, when they have to decide and they have God on one side, man on one side, they choose for God without looking.
Remember when Peter and John ministered to the man at the Beautiful Gate and they were called, they were warned not to Preach the Gospel.
Peter said: “No it is too late for you to stop us. We can’t but Preach this Gospel – We can’t stop it.
They are ready to be beaten, they are ready to go through anything just to keep their Stand for God.
So, they are People that feared God and they are fearless in the way they stand for God with men.
- They are People that have “Zero Tolerance” for sin and iniquity.
According to Hebrew 1:9:
- Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of Gladness above thy fellows.
They “Zero Tolerance” for iniquity and sin.
They love Righteousness with Passion. They love Righteousness with their whole heart.
And God could identify it in them because what makes them to love Righteousness is inside them.
According to that; before I jump to number four (4), I rememb6er that in 1 John 3:8-10; the Bible makes us to understand that whosoever is born of God doesn’t commit sin because the Spirit of God, the Seed of God is in him, he cannot commit sin.
And Verse ten (10) makes it very clear to us – He said: In this is the children of God and children of the devil identified.
How you identify those who are Godly is that they have the Nature and the life of God in them: Even when you Provoke them, anger doesn’t come because it is what is in a man that can be Provoked.
So, when Pride is not in them, there is no way you can Provoke them to burst out; when Unforgiveness is not in them there is no way you can Provoke them and they exhibit unforgiveness because what is in them is God Himself and that’s what makes them Godly.
- They are People who wait for God’s Instruction, God’s Direction and God’s Revelation.
For example, Jesus said in John 5:30 – He said: “Of my own I can do nothing. He said as I hear I speak”.
So, there are People who will not make a move until God moves in them.
So, their Movement is lead, is moved by the leading of God inside of them. So as long as God is not moving.
Just look at the story in 2 Kings 6; the Bible recorded that when Syria wage siege against Samaria for days, there was no food to the Point that women were killing their children.
Elijah being the Prophet of God could not do anything despite the anointing until God says move.
People that are Godly Stars are People that does not go because People recognise them to be Star, to be Special, to be Excellent People, to be Outstanding People. They don’t go on their own Will, they don’t go by their own Directives – They wait for God.
So, they are not People that will feel ashamed like Saul who feel that because the People around me are already going let me display so that I can retain my honour.
They don’t mind if they go through disgrace and shame as long as God has not spoken nothing can be done.
They are so resolute and dogged when it comes to that.
And you will find that in Daniel 2:14-26; the Bible says: When the King’s order that all the Magicians and all the Scientist and all the Knowledgeable, the Wise People in Babylon should be killed because they couldn’t reveal the dream of the king and interpretation to him.
Daniel went to the Head of the Eunuch and he said: Please, can you Permit us to go and seek the face of the Lord.
So, they had to seek the face of the Lord because they have no content to Present to the King.
But when they went to God, God revealed His Mind to them and then they can now go boldly to Nebuchadnezzar.
Even when Nebuchadnezzar asked: Have you gotten an answer to my request?
He said No.
Even your answer that we have is not of our own – He has given it to us. The secret is from Him who has the Revelation of Heaven and Earth. He is the Creator of Heaven and Earth.
So, they wait on God to receive direction.
Now I would like to also say that: They are People that are Produced by Incubation of God.
Just like the mother Hen sit upon the eggs until they are hatched and they are Produced; there are People that God sit upon their lives until Christ is form in them. There are People that God take them through a Process of formation – God form His Own Nature, His Own Lifestyle in them.
And sometimes it takes too Time and Process – That these days; it bothers me when I see Young People coming to Ministry or coming to do the Things of God and already trying to Outshine People, trying to introduce themselves, trying to advertise themselves.
Godly Stars are Produced by God’s Incubation.
God can sit over their lives for years until God is satisfied with what He can see because God will like to put them in the Palm of His Hands and look at them if they really resemble Him.
Before God can Project them; before God can Introduce them to the world – God must have been satisfied with what they are becoming.
Apostle Paul said in Galatian 4:19 – He said:
“My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you”.
So, when Christ is formed, it takes Process for the formation.
*And another thing I would like to add to this is the fact that: Godly Stars are Products of suffering and afflictions.
The Bible recorded in 2 Timothy 3:12; it said that: Those who choose to be Godly in this world shall face Persecutions, they will face Afflictions.
So, becoming Godly is a choice – You can choose to be.
But don’t forget that the Bible also says that: There are some People who have forms of Godliness but they deny the Power – They go to Church, they carry the Bible, they look Religious but the Nature of God that makes a man to easily forgive, love, speak the truth, live holy, hate sin is not in them.
When you look at them Physically; it looks as if they are close to God but inside of them is Iniquity and sin.
So you identify a Godly star because they are Product of Afflictions.
Now what do God do with their lives?
And what is the significance: What is the relevance of having Godly Star among the General Stars?
Let me quickly say this that in every organization – For example in a Banking Industry, you have a lot of staffs, you have a lot of employees. Everybody look alike, everybody seems to be doing the same Business, the same Process of duty and assignment everyday but among them God knows His Own Godly Stars.
So when there are needs God show case His Own.
Sometimes God keeps them, incubate them, hide them from the sight of men.
Many at times God keep them from public scene or sight – He incubate them until Maturity.
The Bible says: John the Baptist was kept in the wilderness until the day of his Showing Forth.
Those are stars – God keeps them; God is not eager to Project them.
Remember in Act 9:4 and 6; when Jesus encountered Paul (Saul of Tarsus) on his way to Damascus.
Jesus said: Saul, Saul why do you Persecute me?
He said who are thou Lord?
He said: I am the Lord you kick against the rest.
Then the first question Saul raised; he said: What will you have me do?
I was expecting God to say: Ok I am going to make you an Evangelist.
God said No! God said it shall be told thee what thou shall do.
He said stand up and go to the City and you will be told what to do next.
Now God did not send him into doing anything immediately because he doesn’t have God – He can’t represent God well.
So, God needed to take Saul of Tarsus through a Process of Fellowship, a Process of Learning under Barnabas, under Peter, under so many People they have to rub on him. They have to show him the way of Christ. He has to develop some measure of intimacy. He has to know God intimate.
Even in Philippians Chapter 3; after he had known God to certain degree, he said that that: I may know Him again – These are Godly Stars!
Godly Stars don’t get to a level in the knowledge of God and they felt that is all; they don’t need God again, Oh, they have had enough of God’s knowledge.
They keep hearing more; they keep becoming more Humble because the more of God they know, the more of themselves they discovered, the more of their emptiness and their weakness they discovered.
Godly Stars, what do God do with them?
Now I would like to show you something in the
Bible which we are all familiar with.
I discovered that in many Places what God does is that: God will create a Problem, God will create a Disaster, God will create a very funny situations – Then he keeps the Key, the Solution to solving that crises, that Problem in the hands of a Godly Star.
For example: Look at the case of Joseph in Egypt.
God decided to cause a great famine in the land, all over the world for seven (7) Years.
God was the one who orchestrated the famine.
But before He orchestrated the famine, He has already identified a Godly Star in whose hands He will commit the key that will solve the Problem.
But what God does is that: He allows the world to play around with their General Stars – Pharaoh was looking for one of the Stars that can interpret his dream. He didn’t get.
Until the Chief Cupbearer remembered that he left Joseph in the Prison and he said to Pharaoh; Sir, today is my fault, I just remembered my fault.
There is a Young man I encountered two (2) Years ago – I had a dream, he interpreted my dream. My dream came to past. I sensed that if you Present this dream to him, he can equally do the same.
God always delights to Protect his Preferred candidate in context and competitions.
Have you forgotten: At the Mount Carmel, God made Elijah a Godly Star.
He called the Prophet of Baal – They are the Stars of the other god.
They displayed all, they couldn’t do anything.
Elijah said call on your god now if he has travelled, call him to come back. If he is sleeping awake him.
At the end of the day, the solution to restoring reign back to Israel, Peace back to Israel, Godliness back to Israel, Righteousness back to Israel was kept in the hands of Elijah.
And when that contest was sorted out, God restored reign.
Is it not the same in the Book of Daniel.
In the days of Nebuchadnezzar; in the days of Belteshazzar, in the days of Daniel – God decided that only his Godly Star will receive the dream of Nebuchadnezzar and receive the Interpretation.
So, God has always love to Display!
- God likes to Produce Godly Nation.
Remember that in Proverbs 14:34, the Bible says that: Righteousness exalteth a Nation: but sin is a reproach to any People.
And how does it go?
Since Hebrews 1:9 says: Thou loveth Righteousness.
And he says Righteousness exalt a Nation.
So, Godly Stars are People that have Righteousness in them and the Righteousness in them; when it spreads and Shines like Star, it Produces.
- The last thing I would like to talk about is the fact that God desire that Godly Star will Produce Godly Seeds.
In Malachi 2:15; the Bible says: God desire Godly Seed.
I realised that many of us come from idolatry background, from unrighteous background. But the intention of God is that when he brings you from idolatry, from sinful background, He encounters you, pour His life into you.
And when you become Godly, God desires that you will Produce Godly children. Your Godly children will make Godly Nation and Godly Nation will make a Generation that God can relate with on the Earth.
If you see a Young man and a Young lady that want to settle down in Marriage; ask them why did they want to marry?
They have funny reasons.
But can I say today: Every one should have understanding that what God is interested in every marriage is that that marriage should Produce Godly Seeds.
Godly Seeds will turn to Godly Nation. And Godly Nation will Produce God Godly People.

CLOSING PRAYER
Eternal Father we want to Thank You tonight.
Bless you Lord for sending Your Words to us.
I Pray that tonight everyone hearing me all over the world or reading now on the Label of DMC will create an hunger in their heart and a Passion and a Burden to become Godly Stars.
Make us Godly Stars through the Process of this convention and let You alone be Glorified.
