THEME: IT IS TIME TO FLY

MINISTERING DAY 3 AFTERNOON PSF HOUR: PASTOR AGU IRUKWU (SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO RCCG GENERAL OVERSEER (SATGO) UNITED KINGDOM)

DATE: 9th DECEMBER, 2020

BIBLE TEXT: 2 KINGS 7:1-2

I will like to start by thanking our Spiritual Parents – Our father, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E. A Adeboye and his wife Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye as we fondly call them for this opportunity to share a word at this Congress (The RCCG Holy Ghost Congress 2020).

Let’s us bow our heads and say a Prayer.

OPENING PRAYER

Father, Thank You for Your Word.

Thank You because the entrance of Your Word brings light, it lifts burden, it destroys yokes, it luminates our Paths, it transforms us and it does that and more.

Heavenly Father let there be a Testimony tonight.

Almighty and Everlasting God in Jesus Name – Amen!

The Title of the Message that I have been asked to speak on this Theme: “IT IS TIME TO FLY”.

Our Foundational Bible Text is taking from 2 Kings 7:1-2.

Permit me to read from two (2) versions of the Bible – 2 Kings 7: 1-2.

I would have loved to read the whole Chapter but time doesn’t Permit it.

It was a wonderful story which some of you know -2 Kings 7:1-2:

1. Then Elisha said, hear the Word of the Lord: Thus says the LORD, tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel and two seahs of barley for a shekel at the gate of Samaria.
2. So, an Officer whose hands the King lean answered the Man of God and said; look if the LORD will make the Windows in Heaven to open, could this thing be? And the Man of God said, you shall see it with your eyes but you shall not eat of it.

The Second (2nd) Version is the New Living Translation (NLT):

1 Elisha replied, “Listen to this myessage from the Lord! This is what the Lord says: By this time tomorrow in the markets of Samaria, six quarts of choice flour will cost only one Piece of silver,[a] and twelve quarts of barley grain will cost only one piece of silver.[b]”

2 The officer assisting the king said to the Man of God, “That couldn’t happen even if the Lord opened the windows of Heaven!” But Elisha replied, “You will see it happen with your own eyes, but you won’t be able to eat any of it!”

It is time to Fly!

When we think about flying; of course there are certain images that comes to our mind.

We think of someone or mountain up, we think of someone or something gliding.

Certain words come to mind once we think of flying.

We think of an acceleration, we think of Speed and we certainly think of Change.

… Something changes that allows something on the ground to suddenly start flying.

And frankly when we think about flying, we think of a Change for the better – It’s higher, it’s better.

The Person is now mounting up or soaring.

And I belieyve that is someone’s Portion – Amen.

At this Congress, by the end of this Congress, your Testimony will be that you were on the Ground, that you are now flying – Amen.

1. That you were moving slowly, that there has been an acceleration.
2. That there suddenly come speed to things you are doing.
3. That there are definitely be a Change and they are Change for the better.

The story that I shared with you from the start – Those two (2) Scriptures and the larger story.

Certain things that we learn from it that I would love to share with you and I hope that it will Propel you and Prepare you for flying which means for moving, for changing, for accelerating, for soaring and for mounting:

1.  It has to do with existing circumstances.

The Human Mind will always want the right circumstances for Change to happen; the right circumstances for there to be an acceleration in our lives; the right circumstances for us to soar and flying but God doesn’t work like that and that is the encouraging News.

In the Scriptures that we read, if you go backward to the Preceding Chapter, it actually tells you the circumstances that existed Prior to that Word of God coming from the Man of God.

2 Kings 6:26-28, the Bible says sometimes later, things were so bad.

Verse 30 tells you the state of the King when he heard how bad things were – When he heard he tore his clothes.

Now things were so bad, things were so difficult, there was starvation in the land, it was so bad that the People were ready to be cannibals.

They were not just ready to become cannibals with any other Person but with their children – That’s how bad things were.

The City was under a siege – Nothing went in and nothing came out.

*Today things are bad, things are challenging – People have lost their jobs, the Nations are in turmoil and the economy is Upside down.

… Things were difficult!

If you are not hearing about Young lives lost in our streets; we are hearing about Herdsmen, e are hearing about Kidnappers.

Things are bad – The Pandemic has affected finances and businesses. Things are difficult and challenging and I’m sure some of you listening to me or reading now on the Label of DMC can testify to that these are certainly not the circumstances for us to be talking about Change for the better and Acceleration or Flying. 

These are the circumstances where you honked down and you just try to survive but I came to tell someone right now that God doesn’t operate by those circumstances – God does what He says He will do, irrespective of the circumstances.

That is the testimony from this story that I am sharing with you.

2. In the midst of those circumstances, something happened that was a Game-changer.

Number 2, the Word of the Lord came.

The Word of the Lord came into the circumstances, much the same way the Word of the Lord is coming to somebody today irrespective of your circumstances – Amen!

There is a lot of talking that is going on today but that talking can’t make a difference, we need the Word of the Lord.

A lot of People are speaking but they are speaking out of their own Personal Agenda.

We need the Word of the Lord.

And thankfully for You and I; we already have the Word of the Lord.

We don’t need to look farther. He has given us His Spoken Word.

… That’s the Word of the Lord.

What does the Word of the Lord says to you irrespective of the circumstances? What has He spoken and His condition upon that circumstances?

Please know that the Word of God, the circumstances lining up to the Word of the Lord doesn’t bow to the circumstances.

What Word has God Spoken to you?

You know if you don’t read your Bible, if you don’t study your Bible, if you don’t Meditate on your Bible; you can’t get the Word that the Lord has Spoken.

And People are running from Pillar to Post, looking for one Prophet or the other to speak the Word of God whereas God has already Spoken His Word to you.

Talking about running around from Pillar to Post; this is the time that there is a lot of “False Prophecy” that is going on.

A lot of People that are saying: “Thus saith the Lord”; but God didn’t say anything.

Your best bet is to stay with what He has given you: THE WORD OF THE LORD!

God Himself warned the children of Israel about False Prophets in Deuteronomy 18:21-22.

21. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the Word which the LORD hath not spoken?

22 When a Prophet speaketh in the Name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to Pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the Prophet hath spoken it Presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

There is a lot of Presumption speaking in the Name of the Lord but then those things are been exposed because the Prophets are saying things that are not coming to Pass.

Your safety is to stay in the Word of the Lord – God has Spoken to you about these circumstances. It is in His Word and as you read the Word by the Spirit of God, that written Word will come to life, it will become a Rhema, it will stick to your life until it beings to Pass what God has said.

In the midst of the sea, in the midst of difficulty; the Word of the Lord came. And you know that it is not just the Bible, He has also given us His “Ultimate Word” – His Son John 1:14.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His Glory, the Glory as of the Only Begotten of the Father,) full of Grace and Truth.

You know sometimes back, there was a fact that went around Christianity, it had the initials WWJD (WHAT WILL JESUS DO?).

And the whole idea was before we react before we think,  before we speak; we should think what will Jesus do and react accordingly.

I wish it was a fact that we could bring back not as a fact but as a lifestyle.

Because unfortunately, it was a fact that People moved on, but that is how God expects us to live by the Bible – By following the Word, Jesus.

What Would Jesus Do?

Imagine how the whole Country will Change if the Christians will live by that Word: What Would Jesus Do? – Before they spoke, before they acted, before they reacted, before they fought.

It would be What Would Jesus Do? We will only do what Jesus would do.

3. It is time to fly!

Believe the Word – It is one thing to hear the Word but it is another thing to believe the Word.

… Believe the Word!

I hope you don’t think that the Theme: It is time to fly, was just something that sounded nice.

No; it is a word I know, that was given to our Spiritual father and he applies it to this sermon, this section. IT IS TIME TO FLY.

The reason he brought it to Congress, is because God gave him the Word – God told him: It is time to fly.

It is my lot now to bring that Word to you and to say: IT IS TIME TO FLY.

Believe the Word, take it into your heart, hold on to it, confess it, declare it, until it comes to Pass.

2 Chronicles 20:20, you know the story – Jehoshaphat was faced with multitude of enemies. He goes to God in Prayer, God speaks to him as his Petitions got to God and God tells him He is going to bring him Victory.

But hear him speaking with such confidence in the twentieth verse of 2 Chronicles 20:20:

And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe His Prophets, so shall ye Prosper.

Believe the Word!

What Would Jesus Say to the Gentile Man, who was tormented by the devil in Mark 9:23?

Jesus says: If you can believe, all things are Possible to him who believes.

Believe the Word!

A lot of time, intellect is the Problem – It becomes an hindrance to us believing the Word.

We try to imagine how it can happen and that was what the Official said that could it happened even if the Lord open the windows of Heavens?

That was the Official said – Probably he is the Economic Minister.

He was saying according to the Economics, that is impossible for the Price of Product to drop drastically. It can’t happen, it doesn’t make any sense.

And how many times have People told us like that? How many times have we thought to ourselves that it doesn’t make any sense?

It might not make any sense but God is not restrained to what could work within the boundaries of the senses of Human Beings.

He is God and God alone – The Creator of ends of the earth, the Alpha and the Omega.

He does exactly as He Pleases – He can close a door and no one can open it, He sits on the Circle of the Earth and habitants are like grasshoppers. He suspends the Law of Nature when He wants.

He does exactly what He wants – He doesn’t have to tailor it to small intellect or to our senses. He is God

Believe the Word!

4. It is time to Fly.

We say it is time to fly. I say it is time.

Everything God does, He does in time and at a time.

Although He exists outside; He does everything in time and at a Particular time.

Ecclesiastes 3:1, the Bible confirms that:

To every thing there is a Season, and a Time to every Purpose under the Heaven.

I declare to you: It is the Right Season and this Congress is the time to fly – Amen. It is time that has been set aside in the Timetable of Heaven for someone who is listening to my voice or reading now on DMC labels to fly – Amen.

I declare to you out there that this is the Word of Lord for you.

Psalms 102:13 says:

Thou shalt arise, and have Mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the Set Time, is come.

It is time for you to arise.

The Bible says God Himself will arise.

It is time for God to arise on your behalf so that you can arise and He will have Mercy on Zion.

It is for you! – That Word is for you.

He will have Mercy on you and how is He going to show you that Mercy?

As He arises to have Mercy, how does Mercy works itself out?

The Bible goes on to say: “For the time to favour her as come, yes the set time has come.

I declare that the time for you to be favoured, the set time has come – Amen.

5. God will do it His way.

There wasn’t time to read that whole story.

But if you read the story; you will find out that exactly what the Man of God said happened.

But it didn’t happen because of any Supply and Theory or anything like that; it happened because God used the most unlikely People – Four (4) Lepers.

Four (4) Lepers were the triggers for that “Awesome Miracle”.

If the Official have been told to even imagined that it could happen, he would never have imagined that it could be four (4) Lepers.

And what am I saying to you as Prophecy says in Isaiah 55:8:

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

And I’m saying to you that: Don’t look at the circumstances, don’t look at the magnitude of the circumstances, don’t look at the challenges, don’t look at the difficulties, don’t listen to those that say it can’t happen, don’t listen to those who says it has never happened.

I came to tell you that if God says it will, it will happen. And how He does it is not your Problem.

Your Problem and my Problem, our challenge is to believe the Word that: It is Time To Fly.

Believe the Word of God – That Word that says: It is Time To Fly and Leave God to do what He says He will do.

He will do it!

How He wants to do it and trust me; it is not likely to be how you thought it should be done.

6. His Ways does not mean that you do nothing.

As the Bible says in James 2:17:

Even so Faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Now of course, the Word of the Lord came: By this time tomorrow, this is going to happen and of course it happened because God said it will happen.

He is not Man that He should lie or son of man that He should change His mind – As He said it, will He not do it?

… Of course, it is going to happen!

The challenge we face in the Body of Christ is that we are looking for God who is a Magician.

And God says: I could be if I chose to be but I am not a Magician.

God says that we have to do something, we have to put some work to our Faith, we have to do something.

And so of course in that story: If the Official had not believed but had sat in his house, he would not have benefited because it was happening at the gate of Samaria, he had to walk to the gate.

And so I’m saying to someone: It Is Time To Fly – Amen.

The Word of God has come. God is definitely choosing this time as the Set Time for you to fly.

But I’m saying to someone: Believe the Word, act on your belief in the Word – Do something: Write a CV, do a Business Plan.

You now Pray, Fast, you know think about it, talk to someone about it, just do something, go there. You now Plan, you know do something.

There is something that is required to complete it, that He has said this is the Set Time you have a Part to Play.

… Play your part! 

And let me end by reading to you what happened at the end 2 King 7:19-20:

19. And that Lord answered the Man of God, and said, Now, behold, if the LORD should make windows in Heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.

20 And so it fell out unto him: for the People trode upon him in the gate, and he died.

That man died (The Official).

And he died because of his unbelieve.

Eventually as he tried to make his way to the gate, there was a stampede and the People tramped him. His unbelieve killed him.

As I end, I want to say to you, unbelieve kills.

Unbelieve kills dreams, kills visions, destroys testimonies. Unbelieve kills, Unbelieve causes Spiritual death.

If you do not believe in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you might be breathing, but you are dead Spiritually and at the end of life whenever that comes, you are convined to a Place where you are alive to feel the Pain but you are dead in every other way apart from feeling the Pain.

ALTAR CALL

And so, what am I saying: Is there is someone out there: You are watching or reading now on DMC Labels, you haven’t accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. 

Can I strip away all the sugar-coating and just say to you – You are the walking-dead.

You might be breathing but you are dead – Dead Spiritually and that is Good as dead.

And so I will like to give you a chance to come back to life.

That is why Jesus Christ died and resurrected and how so you can come back to life by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.

It is as simple as that and His Spirit quickened your Spirit and brings you back to life.

And so, if there is someone there who wants to settle it once and for all because you see we don’t fly in our own Strength, we fly because we are empowered by God to fly.

You want to fly, you haven’t given your life to Christ, you can’t fly, He will empower you to fly.

Why don’t you settle that so that you can fly because It is your time to fly.

Don’t let the enemy robs you of what God has Planned for you.

PRAYER FOR SALVATION

So, will you say after me: Heavenly Father I  thank You for this Congress, I thank You for this Message.

You havee spoken to my heart, I open up my heart, I receive Your Son, Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I confess my sins, I ask you to give me the Grace to live a life that is Pleasing to You as I turn away from anything sinful in my life.

I Thank You Heavenly Father for the Gift of Salvation that I have received into my life, Your Son, Jesus.

I declare that I am now a child of Yours, Born Again in Jesus Name – Amen 

Congratulations! – You have settled the first Part and most important Part.

CLOSING PRAYER

Now why don’t you receive the Spirit of God that will empower and enable you to fly and I am Praying for everyone who is watching or reading now on DMC Labels; that by the Grace of God you will overcome the circumstances, by the Grace of God you will mount up on wings like the Eagles, by the Grace of God you will soar to New Heights, by the Grace of God there will be Acceleration in your Life, by the Grace of God He will Speed Up certain things that have been going slowly, by the Grace of God there will a Change for the better. 

It is time and it is Your time to Fly – Amen.
