It is such a Privilege to be Part of Holy Ghost Service in the Month of February, 2021.
Tonight I will be sharing with us the Topic: “Love and its Roles”.
But before we get into the roles let’s us bow our heads to Pray.
OPENING PRAYER
Father in Jesus Name.
Father we bless You for another Privilege to gather together to worship You, to celebrate the Gift of Life, to celebrate the Gift of Salvation.
We Thank You Father for the Gift of Your son, our father in Lord Pastor E.A Adeboye and all You are sustaining him to do.
Lord tonight, as we go into Your Words, I Pray You open our eyes to see, our ears to hear and be edified in Jesus Name.
In Jesus Name we have Prayed – Amen!
Let the living shout Halleluyah – Hallelujah!
I want to thank God for this great Privilege to bring the Word of God to us today.
I celebrate the Pastorate of PSF worldwide.

So today we be looking at the topic “LOVE AND ITS ROLES”.
Let’s open our Bible to Luke 14:28-30 (NIV):
- “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?
- For if you lay the Foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you.
- Saying, ‘This Person began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’
Now rules show us what is required – Expected Result.
To describe the cost; to say okay you want to Play football and you want to win the game, these are the rules.
So, if you want to enjoy the best of love and maximize the Purpose of Love and enjoy all that God has Planned for you, you need to know the tenets, the rules. You need to know what God expects from you and I.
So, the first thing we will be looking at in the rules of Love is Faith.
RULE 1: FAITH
Faith is compulsory for Love to strive.
It is impossible, we know according to John 4:7-8 – It is impossible to Please God without Faith.
You cannot enjoy Love, your Love relationship cannot blossom without Faith.
If all you have is all you can see with your Natural eyes and your emotions alone; that Love is bound to fail.
You need to depend on God for that Love relationship to strive because God Himself is Love.
Praise the Lord – Hallelujah!
God Himself is Love.
Love create an atmosphere where it is safe for us to strive, to be the Person God has called us to be, for your Partner to be the Person God has called them to be.
And we know that in this world there are Limitations – We know that your Spouse also has his/her Limitations.
So, it takes Faith for you to go up to a Higher Altitude and see things through the eye of God and come to the Place where you can begin to supply the resources that is needed for that love relationship to strive because Love itself is not just some feelings that you experience.
Love is manifestation of God giving to us to bear the burdens of our Partner. Love is a slice of Heaven, it is a foretaste of Heaven. It creates that Place of Perfection, a Place where you can be the Person God has created you to be.
And so, when a child is raised where there is no Love, they fall short of God’s Standard, they fall short of what is expected, they are not the best Person they should be. Now atmosphere where Love will blossom.
Now without Faith how can you create that state of Perfection? Without dependence on God how can you create that state of Perfection?
You don’t have the strength, you don’t have the Capacity to love any man or woman without the help of God – Nobody has the capacity.
Praise the Lord – Hallelujah! Praise the Living Jesus – Hallelujah!
You need to see beyond the Limitations of those words and Limitations of your Spouse through the eye of Faith.
Many Marriages have failed even though the Couples are Good and amazing People because one (1) or two (2) of them stop having Faith in God.
You need to draw Strength from God – The One that can see them, the One Who knows them, the One that can Provide Resources and make a way, where there seems to be no way
Praise the Lord – Hallelujah! Praise the Living Jesus – Hallelujah!
So Love gives us the Capacity to bear the burden of our Partner. so when we have Faith, we can draw more from God.
RULE 2: The Second (2nd) Rule for Love that we will look at tonight is:
“God must be Glorified”.
Love that does not Glorify God is evil, Love that does not Glorify God Glorifies Self and Self is evil.
One of the Signs of End Time listed in 2 Timothy 3:2 is that Men will become lovers of Self.
So your love relationship is not about you, is not your about Spouse – It is about God. All things were created for His Pleasure.
Revelation 4:11 says: Unto Him alone be all the Honour, be all the Glory.
God is never invested in Self-Ventures.
You want your love relationship to thrive, you want your husband to be the Man you want him to be, you want your Spouse to be the Person God has called them to be – You need to exalt God, you need to hold them Accountable. Your Relationship, your Marriage must be advancing.
God wants to Profit from that Relationship, God wants to Profit from that Union – It is not about Pleasing your husband, it is not about Pleasing your wife. Exalt God and the two (2) of you will be happy. Exalt God and the blessings will be yours.
God has a Purpose for your Love Relationship.
Marriage is God’s Idea not Man’s Idea and love blossoms when it is invested in High Calling.
You need to look to God why are we together? Why are we so connected? Why are we so attached?
That’s why God invested in a relationship Himself.
Praise the Lord – Hallelujah!
The question is: How is your Marriage advancing the Kingdom of God?
You want that Marriage to thrive – Is it Profitable to God?
Is God befitting from your Union? Has your Union made your Spouse more better and matured Spiritually?
Many People – You know every girl’s dream is to have that Man: Prince Charming, Tall, Handsome, Speaking in Tongues also.
Is every Man’s Dream to have beautiful girl that gives him Peace of mind?
The kind of Person that you are looking for is somebody that the Heaven has invested in – Somebody that God has trained.
God has thought them to put their flesh under.
Now can God trust you with such a Man and Woman? Can God give you such a Powerful Destiny? Will you hold them to Kingdom Standards? Or you will say whatever Pleases you is fine – Whether you change figures, I will look the other way, whether you are cheating or you are doing whatever you want, I will look the other way.
Or you will hold them accountable to God’s Standards.
Your Marriage, your Relationship should Glorify God, as your Love Relationship create the right atmosphere for God to raise Godly Generations through you.
Do you Provide the right Support for your Spouse to flourish in what God has called them to do?
Love gets boring when it is not invested in High Calling.
For how long are you going to go from Cinema, to Picnic, to Beach?
For how long are you going to do that exactly?
Love has to be invested in something Higher.
The best thing you can invest in your Love Relationship in is the Purpose that God has for you as husband and wife.
RULE 3: This is like two in one.
It is taking from Ephesians 5:22 & 25
The Rule of love says a woman must submit to her husband. The woman must submit to her husband I say again.
I don’t know this is something that is becoming Unpopular, something we don’t want to hear anymore.
People think Submission is Slavery but it is the Word of God – It cannot be broken, you cannot change it. You either agree with it or you leave.
… It is a Word of God and it is settled!
The woman must Submit because the Need of a Man, the “Core Need” of a Man is Respect – Every man desires to be respected.
They say the way to a Man’s heart is through his stomach – Gone are those days. I’m not sure about the Men of this Generation. They are Worth more than Food, their Destiny mattered than Food.
The way to Man’s heart is Respect, it is Respect.
Respect is a Man’s Love Language – He wants to feel like the King of the home, he wants to feel like the Lord of the home.
Jesus is the Lord of all lords, Jesus is the Lord (The Lord with capital L).
Husband is the “Small Lord” and he should be honoured as one. He should be treated as one.
Praise the Lord – Hallelujah!
A man desires that he will be respected. So you want Love to thrive?
Now we have spoken about what God expects us to do between husband and wife: The woman has to Submit and that’s why you have the Privilege of choosing the kind of Man you submit to in Courtship, during Courtship.
That is the time to say No I cannot go with you, No I do not agree with you.
Submit to a man that Fear God!
But the moment you sign the dotted lines is Submission.

Now Verse 25 also says that the Man should Love the wife as Christ loves the Church.
Christ loves the Church, He laid down His life for her.
The Man should Love the woman as Christ loves the Church.
Women are like mirrors. What you give in is what you get.
If you Love a woman, now – I’m talking about a Godly woman, well-trained, blessed Woman of God. I am not talking about Delilah’s, I’m not talking about Jezebel’s.
I am talking about Deborah’s, I’m talking about Sarah’s, I’m talking about Esther’s, I’m talking about Ruth’s.
If you Love a woman, who is a child of God and you love her well, she is going to submit.
You are creating an atmosphere where she can Practically lay down her life for you.

I also want us to note thar as Woman, that the Man does not only desire, need you to respect him; he needs you to command his respect also.
It is important to the Man that you are a Woman who brings Substance to the table – You are a Virtuous Woman, Proverbs 31 Woman, a Woman of worth, a Woman that makes him feel Proud when he sits at the gate like the husband of the Woman in Proverbs 31. A Woman who brings Value to the table, who is a Blessing. When you open your mouth, your words are Seasoned with salt.

I know that David (You know David); married Abigail after Nabal died. But I want to believe that it was just the beauty of Abigail that attracted David. I’m sure Abigail was not the first beautiful woman David was going to meet, and I dont think, the Bible does not record that she was the finest woman in Israel. It was her wisdom, it was the delivery of her wisdom, it commanded the respect of David that a woman could be filled with such Wisdom and speak to him with so much respect.
So if you must be a Woman and you want this Man to jump over you – Every Man in his right mind wants a Woman that is Good, that brings value to the table.
So, Woman should have the Capacity also to command respect of her Man and the Man should Love the Woman, Provide for her.
A woman calls it Security and that is why many Woman, many many Woman don’t just marry the Men that they loved, they married the men, who make them feel loved.
I will say that again, they don’t marry the Men that they loved, they married the Men who make them feel loved.
Because making her feel loved makes her feel secured.
A Man that can cover them Spiritually, a Man that can cover them Financially, a Man who is “Indeed Lord”.
Scripture records that: Jesus is Lord, He is the Head of the Church and He supplies every Need that the body needs.
Scripture says a Man that cannot Provide for his home is worse than an infidel.
So every Woman, though he might not have all the money now but he has the capacity to Provide. You have the dreams and you are putting in the work.
You cannot expect love if you bring nothing into the table – Not this kind of love.
There is a different kind of love:
- There is Friendship Love.
- There is Empathy Love.
But the kind of love you experience in a Marriage Relationship has to be Substantial, has to be Weighty because that kind of Relationship is invested in a Higher Purpose.
So a Man should love a Woman, should be a Man that is matured in Wisdom, a Man of Stature, a Man that can Provide for himself and Provide for the Woman – He can Provide for himself Spiritually and Provide for the Woman. Not a kind of Man that is Spiritually irresponsible.
A Man that can Provide for himself Financially no matter how small, also Provide for the Woman, even if all you can buy is recharge card, you have sense of responsibility.
You are not saying: Oh, since you make enough money, you make more than me; I can go to sleep.
No! – That is not what Jesus said!
Jesus did not say now that you can Fast and Pray, you are a mature child of God, I don’t need to be there for you anymore.

So, it is important very important, very very important that we understand that Love thrives when invested in a Higher Purpose!
Why are you together? What has God called you to do together? What kind of Generation are you going to raise for God?
You need to go beyond going to the Cinema, going to the Beach.
You know that hanging out – These things are beautiful; very important; very very important that you cannot do without them but it is not the Call of the Love relationship.
Purpose stands at the Call – God wants to Profit from your Marriage, God wants to Profit from my Marriage. God is counting on you and I, that your Spouse should be the Man that He has Ordained him to be, that your Spouse should be the Woman that He has Ordained her to be and that you will raise for Him a Godly Generation
Praise the Lord – Hallelujah!
Deuteronomy 32:30 says: One will chase a thousand, and two will put ten thousand to flight.
I Pray for you today that: Your Relationship will be putting ten thousand to flight in Jesus Name – Amen.
That indeed you will find Purpose, you will the Purpose which God has brought you and Spouse together in Jesus Name – Amen.
And I Pray for every Marriage that is troubled, that as you listened to me tonight or reading now on the DMC labels, as you plugged in for Holy Ghost Service for the Month of February, 2021, that God will turnaround your Marriage for Good in Jesus Name – Amen.
As the Theme for this Month is: God Bless You – Part 2; indeed you will begin to experience God’s Blessings on all sides of your Marriage in Jesus Name – Amen.

CLOSING PRAYER
Father we Thank You for Your Words that You brought to us today.
We Thank You because Your Words has Profited us.
We Thank You because our lives are better because of these Words.
Thank You Father because our Marriages come up Higher to the Place of Purpose.
Thank You Everlasting Father because our Love Relationships are Preserved.
Thank Jesus because You will Profit and benefit from our Marriage.
In Jesus Name we have Prayed – Amen!
