BIBLE TEXT: DEUTERONOMONY 28:1-13
We give You all the Glory, we give You all the Honour, we give You all the Adoration, because You are God. Thank You for Who You are to us.
We lift up Your Name above every other names, because You are God.
You are the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending; the First and the Last. We bless You!
We worship You because You are the Lord of lords, the King of Kings, the King of Glory, the Ancient of Days, the Lion of Judah, the Root of Jesse.
The Offspring of David, the I AM THAT I AM, the Bright and Morning Star, we bless You!
Lord I give You Praise! Thank You for this day that You have made, which we have chosen to rejoice and be glad in it.
Thank You Father! In Jesus’Name we Worship – Amen!
We want to Bless the Name of the Lord for opportunity that Daddy and Mummy GO have given to me to speak in this May 2021 Holy Ghost Service.
Also, I want to thank my fathers-in-the-Lord; the Assistant General Overseer of Personal and Administration, and Continental Overseer for Africa and his Assistance – for their care and love for us.
This night, I have been asked to speak on: “OVERFLOWING BLESSINGS”.
And my Bible reading would be taken from Deuteronomony 28:1-13 (New Living Translation).
… And I commence reading:
[1] “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all His commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you High above all the Nations of the world.
[2] You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God:
[3] Your towns and your fields will be blessed.
[4] Your children and your crops will be blessed. The offspring of your herds and flocks will be blessed.
[5] Your fruit baskets and breadboards will be blessed.
[6] Wherever you go and whatever you do, you will be blessed.
[7] “The Lord will conquer your enemies when they attack you. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven!
[8] “The Lord will guarantee a blessing on everything you do and will fill your storehouses with grain. The Lord your God will bless you in the land He is giving you.
[9] “If you obey the commands of the Lord your God and walk in his ways, the Lord will establish you as his Holy People as He swore He would do.
[10] Then all the Nations of the world will see that you are a People claimed by the Lord, and they will stand in awe of you.
[11] The Lord will give you Prosperity in the land He swore to your Ancestors to give you, blessing you with many children, numerous livestock, and abundant crops.
[12] The Lord will send rain at the Proper time from His rich Treasury in the Heavens and will bless all the work you do. You will lend to many Nations, but you will never need to borrow from them.
[13] If you listen to these commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today, and if you carefully obey them, the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom.
… May the Lord Bless the reading and hearing of the Word of God – Amen.
Brethren, I want you to know that “every Blessings we Proclaim must line up with Scriptures in our lives, before they can stick in our lives!”
There is no way God will bless us if we are not Kingdom Promoters.
… The Blessings of God Changes the Stories of Men.
Let’s look at: WHAT IS OVERFLOW?
Overflow is Excess.
WHAT IS OVERFLOW?
To fill beyond the limit of a container.
We are also going to look at: WHAT IS A BLESSING?
A Blessing is a Supernatural Empowerment.
Quickly, we are going to look at:
HOW TO EXPERIENCE OVERFLOWING BLESSINGS.
- Total Obedience to God.
In Deuteronomony 28:1-2, the Bible says (New Living Translation):
“If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the Nations of the world. You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God:”
Brethren, I want you to know that our obedience to the commandments of the Lord, is what entitles us to experience Overflowing Blessings.
In Deuteronomony 28:3, the Bible says: “Your towns and your fields will be blessed.”
I want you to know; where your obedience and my obedience stops, that is where the Blessings of the Lord stops!
In Job 36:11, the Bible says: “If they listen and obey God, they will be blessed with Prosperity throughout their lives. All their Years will be Pleasant.”
Listen carefully: You need to know that God is always committed to our obedience. When we engage the force of obedience, God is committed to our obedience.
And when He is committed to our obedience, it means the blessings of our obedience (that He has prepared for us).
We will be Partakers of those Blessings, because we have obeyed God.
… How do you experience Overflowing Blessings?
- By the Love of God.
In Matthew 22:36-40; and Precisely in Verse 37; Jesus replied: “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your Soul, and all your Mind.’
In Mark 12:30 – And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your Soul, all your Mind, and all your Strength.’
We need to know that when we love God, everything will answer to us on their own accord.
Christianity becomes colourful when you walk in Love: It is the Love of God that will make our Christianity to be colourful.
You need to know that when you walk in Love, you will experience Overflowing Blessings.
Because that’s what God has Promised us.
1 Corinthians 2:9 says:
That is what the Scriptures mean when they say: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined
what God has Prepared for those who love Him.”
Which means that Blessings Overflowing are what God has Prepared for those that love Him.
The Key Factor there is for us to Love God in other to experience the Blessings that will Overflow, in the Name of Jesus – Amen!
Brethren, listen to me carefully: “When you love Blessings more than God, you will mourn in your life.”
And I want to encourage you me Brethren – Let us Love God with all our heart; let us Love God with all our Strength; let us Love God with all our Mind so that the Blessings that God has Prepared for those that Love Him, may reflect in our lives and in everything that we do, in the Name of Jesus – Amen!
Love is a key to Overflowing Blessings.
… How do you experience Overflowing Blessings?
- It is by Praise.
Psalms 103:1, the Bible says: “Let all that I am Praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will Praise His Holy Name.”
You have to be a Praiser, to experience Overflowing Blessings.
When you are a Praiser, you will experience Overflowing Blessings because in Psalms 22:3, the Bible says: “God inhabits the Praises of His People.’
When God inhabits the Praises of His People, He comes with Blessings that Overflow on every sides.
And I see you experiencing Blessings on every sides, in the Name of Jesus – Amen!
- Gratitude to God.
In Psalms 30:1-3, David recognised that only the Hand of God was at work in his life. And he gave God gratitude that was due to His Name.
And Particularly, in Psalms 30:4 – he said: “Sing to the Lord, all you Godly ones! Praise His Holy Name.”
Brethren, you need to know that: Ingratitude to God leads to dryness; and hinders continuous flow of Overflowing Blessings.
So, don’t take advantage of the Hand of God in your life. Let us identify and recognise the favour of you God in out lives.
No matter how small the things be seen in our eyes; no matter how small we may consider the Blessings in our lives; let us identify it as the Hand of God.
It is by the Grace and Mercy of God that He has given us these Blessings. And once we identify what God has done for us, let us give Him the gratitude that is due His Name.
… Glory be to God – Hallelujah!
… How do I experience Blessings that are Overflowing?
- It is through the Works of my hands.
In Psalms 1:1-6, Particular Verse 3 says: “They are like trees Planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each Season.
Their leaves never wither, and they Prosper in all they do.”
When God wants to bless a Man, He gives him something to do with his hands. He blesses the labour our our hands.
No matter how small the thing may be; when you put your hand on deck, there is a Blessing of God, there is a Multiplication of small things, there is increase of small things.
Because God has Promised us that whatsoever we do, He will cause it Prosper.
- It is through Divine Favour of God.
Genesis 39:1-5, and Particularly Verse 2 says: “The Lord was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did as he served in the home of his Egyptian Master.”
Joseph was sold as a Slave, and he went to a foreign land. But because the Favour of God was upon his life, the Bible says “he succeeded in everything that he did.”
Everything that he touched with his hand was succeeding. Everything the Master put in his hand was Prospering;
… Because the Favour of God was upon Joseph.
Brethren, you need the Favour of God, you need the Favour of People in order for you to experience Overflowing Blessings.
It’s a Pity because, many People want the favour of God, they want the favour of People but they don’t want to sow favour in other People’s lives.
Brethren, if you want to receive favour, you must sow favour in the lives of other People.
- It is through Divine Ideas.
When you contact Divine Ideas on what to do more than your friends, you will experience Overflowing Blessings in that area that you have got Light from Heaven.
We are at advantage, when we catch Light from Heaven, via Divine Ideas.
When God wants to Bless a man, He gives him Divine Ideas.
In 1 Chronicles 12:32, the Bible says: “From the Tribe of Issachar, there were two hundred (200) Leaders of the Tribe with their relatives. All these men understood the Signs of the Times and knew the best course for Israel to take.”
It is to discern, it is to know the Times we are living in, with Divine Ideas so that you can be at the cutting edge.
In Psalms 32:8, the Bible says: The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best Pathway for your Life. I will advise you and watch over you.”
When God guides you, when God advises me, and when God watches over me, I will Prosper – Because, that direction that I need in my Life is going to be coming from God via the Spirit of the Living God.
And also, it is very important to be a friend of the Holy Spirit so that when He is leading us, we will Pay attention and yield to the Leadership and Guidance of the Spirit of the Living God.
… Quickly, let’s look at:
THE PURPOSE OF OVERFLOWING BLESSINGS.
Brethren, if you don’t know and understand the Purpose of a thing, you will abuse it.
If you know the Purpose of Overflowing Blessings, you would not miss your Place in it.
- The first (1st) Purpose of Overflowing Blessings is to be a Blessing to Others.
In Genesis 12:1-2, the Bible says: The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your Native Country, your Relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a Great Nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others.”
We need to know that Abraham became a Blessing because God blessed him.
You need to know Brethren, that before God blesses a man, to flow in Overflowing Blessings, He checks their hearts first; to see, if this Person would be selfish or liberal.
There is a Biblical Example in Luke 12:16-20, about the Rich Foolish man. He accumulated wealth, he was bragging – This is what I have achieved. And because I have achieved these, I will enjoy my life.
And you will discovered that he didn’t even mention his wife, children or relatives. He didn’t even mention his neighbours!
This man was very Selfish. And because God saw that he was Selfish, He said: ‘You are not going to enjoy the Labour of your hands.’
… And immediately, his life was taken!
Brethren, you need to know that what you are neglecting may be a Blessing to another Person. Don’t take advantage of the Blessings of God.
Because you need to know that God has blessed you, He has blessed me to be a Blessing to this Generation.
The shoes, clothes, house, and other things that you are neglecting may be a blessing to somebody else. So, we need to know that there is a reason why God blesses somebody.
… And that is to be a Blessing to others!
- The Second (2nd) Purpose is to Establish His Covenant.
Psalms 89:34, the Bible says; No, I will not break my Covenant; I will not take back a single word I said.
The Covenant with our father Abraham, is the gateway to our Abundance. The covenant works for us, and it will keep working for us!
In Proverbs 19:17, the Bible says: If you help the Poor, you are lending to the Lord —and He will repay you!
… That’s a Covenant Brethren!
God made a Covenant and He said: Look, when you give to the Poor, you are lending to Mr and I will Pay you back.
When you give to the Poor, the Bible says you are lending to God. And when you lend to God, and He will Pay you back!
When God is Paying you back, He is repaying you with Overflowing Blessings in every dimensions.
- It is to Remove Shame from His Children.
Joel 2:23-27; verse 27 says: “… Never again will my People be disgraced.”
So, the Purpose of Overflowing Blessings is to remove Shame from the lives of God’s Children.
- It is to Promote His Kingdom.
In Matthew 6:33, the Bible says: Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.
God’s Sole Purpose of Blessing somebody is to Promote the Kingdom of God.
It is when we seek the Kingdom of God, that His Kingdom is Promoted!
- To enjoy life in Abundance.
In John 10:10, the Bible says; “I have come that they may have Life, and that they may have it more Abundantly.”
So, God would make sure that you are Blessed, He will make sure that you Prosper, He will make sure that you experience Overflowing Blessings so that you can enjoy Life; so that your life can be comfortable!
And when your life is comfortable, you are going to serve God as never before. You will focus on Serving Him.
Because, you will be enjoying Life. And not just enjoying life but enjoying Life in Abundance.
… Let’s quickly look at:
HINDRANCES TO OVERFLOWING BLESSINGS.
- The major hinderance to Overflowing Blessings is SIN.
In Psalms 66:18, the Bible says: If I regard iniquity in my heart,
The Lord will not hear.
Sin is a blockage to your future; sin is a hinderance to Good thing; sin is a Stopper to Good thing.
When I habour sin, when I conceive sin, I cover sin – I don’t experience Blessings Overflowing.
- Unforgiveness.
In Matthew 6:14-15; the Bible says: “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
The Bible says, if you refuse to forgive others, our Heavenly Father will not forgive us.
When you forgive others, you qualify to be forgiven. If you don’t forgive others, you don’t qualify to be forgiven by God.
And if you are not forgiven, which means you cannot receive Overflowing Blessings.
Because what God would want you to do is to forgive those who have wronged you; so that He can also forgive you; so that you can qualify for Overflowing Blessings.
- Disobedience.
In Deuteronomony 28:14-15; we see the consequences of disobedience.
It says: “But if you refuse to listen to the Lord your God and do not obey all the commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come and overwhelm you:”
Brethren, it doesn’t Pay to disobey God. It Pays to obey God.
- Laziness.
In Proverbs 6:6-11, the Bible says that we should learn from ants who have no Overseer to check what they are doing. And the ants work without supervision.
And the Bible says in Verses 10 and 11 – “A little sleep, a little slumber; A little folding of the hands to sleep — So shall your Poverty come on you like a Prowler, And your need like an armed man.”
So, when one is lazy, you can’t experience Overflowing Blessings because, like I said “God blesses the labour of our hands.”
- You can’t experience Overflowing Blessings if you are not a Giver.
In Acts 20:35, the Bible says it is more blessed to Give than to receive.
Don’t wait to be given; take a first (1st) step to Give!
And when you Give, you open a Channel for you to be blessed.
And I see you blessed, as you Give, in the Name of Jesus – Amen.
… Let’s quickly look at:
HOW TO CONTINUOUSLY EXPERIENCE OVERFLOWING BLESSINGS.
- By continuously Obeying God.
In Deuteronomy 28:1-2, the Bible says: “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all His commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the Nations of the world. You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God:”
So, to experience continuous Overflowing of Blessings, I must continually obey God.
In John 2:5, the Mother of Jesus told the Disciples “Whatsoever He tells you to do, do it!”
And when they did what Jesus told them to do; water was turned into wine – Via obedience to the Words of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- By Serving the Lord Faithfully.
In Joshua 24:14-15, we see that, if it seems undesirable to you. Joshua said, “as for me and my house,we will serve the Lord.”
Exodus 23:25-26, we see that if you serve the Lord only, He says “I will take sicknesses away from you.” And He has given us a Promise, He says “None shall be barren among you.”
… Because of Serving the Lord Faithfully.
- Continue Sowing in the Kingdom of God and in the lives of others.
Galatians 6:9-10 says: We should not get weary in doing Good. Because our time of Harvest is coming.
And it says we should do Good especially to those that are of the household of Faith.
Giving empowers you, it empowers me to Prosper. Giving empowers you, it empowers me to Recieve.
- Always remember that it is the Lord that empowers us to be Blessed.
Deuteronomony 8:18, the Bible says that we should remember that it is Lord that gives us Power to get wealth.
When you read the whole of Deuteronomony 8, you will discovered that He told the Nation of Israel: “I will bless you, I will Prosper you, I will Multiply you, and you will be so Rich.”
But He gave them warning that: “When you Prosper and you reach the highest Peak in Prosperity; when you begin to experience Overflowing; Please don’t forget Me.”
And He was telling them that ‘don’t forget me when you reach the Top.”
Brethren you need to know that every Blessings God has given us, it is He Who has empowered us.
And because God has empowered us to be blessed; we need to remember Him at every Levels of our Life; every day of our Life because that empowerment, that Overflowing Blessings come from Him. Because He is the One that gives us the Power and the Ability to generate wealth.
Brethren, as I conclude, I want to challenge you and I want to ask you a Question:
Are you Giving God the Glory due to Him, because of the Blessings that He has given you?
If you want to continue experiencing Overflowing Blessings:
- We have to stick to God.
- We have to make sure that we continue getting connected to God.
- We have to make sure that we don’t lose focus with the Goal of Heaven.
- We have to make sure that we don’t lose focus with the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
Because the moment you begin to experience Overflowing Blessings, if care is not taken, you may drift away from God.
Let’s bow our head as we Pray!
- We are going to pray and say Father: Help me to do everything Possible within Your Power that You have given me; to experience Overflowing Blessings.
… Let’s go ahead and begin to Pray.
Father we ask today, for the Grace to continue to flow in Overflowing Blessings.
That which we need to do, Oh God, to flow in Overflowing Blessings, we Pray that You will give it to us, in the Name of Jesus!
Lord God Almighty, we ask that everything we have looked at in this Message, we Pray that You will grant us the Grace to implement them, in the Name of Jesus!
Thank Blessed Father! In Jesus’Name we Pray – Amen.
- Lastly, we are going to ask God: Please Lord, when I begin to experience Overflowing Blessings, grant me the Grace to be a Blessing to this Generation.
… Let’s go ahead and begin to Pray!
Father in the Name of Jesus, I Decree and I Declare Oh God, the moment I begin to experience Overflowing Blessings, grant me the Grace Oh God, to be a Blessing to this Generation.
And let Your Name be Praised forever in my life! Thank You Eternal Father!
