TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE FIRST WOMAN

BIBLE TEXT: GENESIS 1:26-28

Today I am going to Preach about Eve, the first Mother.

There is very little said about her in the Bible but I took time to find out what she represented as a Mother.

So I have titled my Message: “Lessons from the First Woman.”

Each one of us owe this woman our lives because she was the first woman, and first Mother.

Today, as we celebrate Mother’s Day, each one of us has a mother figure in our lives – A woman whose example in Life has been an encouragement to us.

It could be your Natural Mother, it could have been a Stepmother, it could be an Auntie, an Older Sister, a Teacher, a Guardian or a Spiritual Mother in the Church, or a Mentor.

But there is one woman somewhere in your Life who helped you to become who you are.

Because Motherhood is not just biological, there is a biological aspect to Motherhood but Motherhood, I also believe is Spiritual and Motherhood is Psychological – It’s something we do for People that makes them feel like we have mothered them.

And so for all of you women who have mentored somebody, encouraged somebody, uplifted somebody, and who have been there for somebody to look up to, we celebrate all of you.

And I declare that your work and your Faithfulness shall be rewarded also – Amen.

And in the Church, it’s our desire that more women will rise to be mothers in the House of God – Amen.

Many People come to Church with different needs and different Problems. And in the Church we expect that what we don’t have in our Natural families, we can find in the House of God.

And I Pray for every woman today that you will discover your full Potentials; not only as a woman but also as a Mother – Amen.

Whether you have a child biologically or not you are a Mother if you are a woman.

So I am going to Genesis Chapter 1, that is where everything begins from.

• We’ll start with God’s Original Plan;
• And we will work our way through and look at Eve.
• And look at Adam’s attitude towards Eve.
• And we’ll look at Lessons we can learn from there.

Let me say once again, Happy Mother’s Day to my Beloved Wife Joy, for being not only my wife but also my mother – I hear that husbands are the first child of their wives.

We never stop depending on our wives for Mothering – Feeding us, making sure we are well dressed, making sure our rooms are clean, and that we look neat when we go out.

So, thank you for all that you do for me and also our children – God bless you, Increase you, Prosper you and make you a thousand times more – Amen.

… And I say that on behalf of all husbands to their wives.

Your husband just said the same thing to you; so appreciate him for saying that to you.

They don’t have the Microphone that’s why they didn’t say it but I’ve said it for all of them. Alright!

Genesis 1:26-28

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Now, if you are familiar with me, you know that I’ve read this Scripture a billion times and Preached from it so many times, because it is one of my Anchor Scriptures in the Bible.

THREE (3) IMPORTANT TRUTHS ABOUT GENESIS 1:26-28

Today, just for the sake of Mother’s Day, there are three (3) Important Truths I want to bring to your notice about the Passage:

1. Men and Women are both Created in God’s Image.

This is the Foundational Truth of the Bible – God created both Male and Female in His own Image. It’s a very simple truth.

But it’s a very Powerful truth too, that the woman does not derive her Image down the man and the man does not derive his image from the woman.

Both men and women derive their identity in God.

God created them in His own Image and our sense of worth, our sense of value depends on God.

It is a very important truth, especially for women, because we live in a Culture that sometimes demean and down play the value of women.

And sometimes it is made to appear as if a woman is nothing without a man.

But God created them both in His own Image.

2. Men and Women are both Blessed by God.

The Bible says, “And God Blessed them” – Not bless him, or bless her. But God blessed “them.”

Men are blessed, women are blessed.

The word “Blessed” means to be empowered and Gifted of God.

• Each one of us, male and female is empowered and Gifted by God.
• Each one has Potential to be all that God wants us to be.

Whether the Society recognizes that or not is not the issue; whether the Culture appreciates that or not is not the issue; the issue is that God your Creator, has created you and I in His own Image and Blessed us.

3. Both Men and Women are Custodians of the Earth.

He said to the both of them, “Be Fruitful, Multiply, fill the Earth, Subdue it, have Dominion.”

• God told both of them to be Managers of the Earth.
• Both of them have the same Mandate on Earth.

Both of them have a right to operate here on Earth; and that is God’s Original idea.

So you can see that Women’s Empowerment is not just a recent Political Discovery, it is God’s Original intention.

It was abused over the years and sometimes in trying to right it, People have done it without God and have gone to different extremes that are not godly.

But God’s idea is that men and women;

• Both created in His own image.
• Both Blessed by Him.
• Both Custodians of equal rights and equal proportion in the Earth.

So Genesis Chapter 1 is like a summary.

But Genesis Chapter 2 gives us a little bit more details on how the woman came about.

And most of the Problems of Womanhood sometimes is related to Genesis Chapters 2 and 3.

And I will address all of them today.

Let’s go to Genesis 2:18-23;

18. And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
19. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
20. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
21. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22. And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

It is a very interesting Statement there, that God took the woman out of the man – He took the woman from the rib (from the side).

I don’t know where your rib is, but I suppose it’s on your side. Your rib is not on your head.

Does anybody have rib on the head?

You may do! If you do, Probably you are a fish in Church today.

But your ribs are in your side. Your ribs are not at your feet.

• So the woman was not taken from the head, to boss over the man.
• She was not taken from the feet, to be under the man.

The woman was taken from the side, to be comparable to the man.

The ribs are taken from the side.

You know sometimes People teach out of Place – They imply “well, a woman came from the man and as a result she is inferior to the man.”

And if you are one of those who hold such views, I Pray that God will have Mercy on you and deliver you today – Amen.

But this is what God did!

ADAM’S ATTITUDE

Now, we have to look at Adam’s attitude to what had happened. Because Adam has been alone for a while.

We are not told how long; but there was a moment when there was no Physical companion with him. And then God makes the woman, brings her to Adam.

The interesting thing here is that God did not make Adam see the Process – So he puts Adam to sleep and created the woman.

Because sometimes when you see how something begins you despise it

And so God didn’t want Adam to see the process but he saw the Result.

And so he saw the results and this Creature stands in front of him.

He now has to choose how he is going to relate to this being that stands infront of him.

And the Bible says he called this being woman, meaning “Out of the Man.”

Adam called the being Woman.

In Hebrew, the the word “Woman” is Isha, and “Man” is Ish – So Isha means, “Out of Man.”

Now, when something comes out of you, you have to determine what it means – Does it mean the thing that came out of you is Inferior to you? Superior to you or Equal to you?

But when Adam said, “She shall be called Woman.

This is how I am going to relate to this Person – I am going to relate to her as ‘Out of me’. Because of what? It is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh.”

That’s how I am going to determine our relationship from now onwards.

Overtime, Human Culture has changed our relationship.

But this is Adam’s first response to Eve, – “She is Woman because she is taken out of Man.”

AND WHAT DOES WOMAN MEAN?

It means three (3) things;

1. Counterpart:

Counterpart means, similar to. Similar as a Human Being. Counterpart – Parts of the same.

2. Companion:

Secondly it means Companion;

• One to befriend
• One to respect
• One to honour
• One to share ideas with
• One to enjoy
• One to be friends with.

… Counterpart, Companion!

3. Colleague:

Colleague means one to work with.

Eve joined Adam in the task of managing Eden – Both of them had God’s Mandate to manage Eden.

Both of them were Workers – They worked for the same Boss.

• Their Office was called Eden,
• Their Boss was called God.
• I suppose they earned same salary.

So the whole idea of women working with men in the same Place is not new – It’s right from Eden, they worked in the same Place.

The whole idea of them answering to the same Boss is not new because that’s what it was in Eden.

And I believe that if they did the same work and work for the same Boss, in the same workplace; they had equal pay for equal work – I believe so.

That is not a new idea – It is an Eden Idea.

That tells us that any Culture, whether it is a Ghanaian Culture, foreign Culture or whatever Culture that diminishes the value of women in any form, doesn’t have it’s root in God’s Original idea.

• God’s Original idea is that they are Comparable.
• They are Colleagues.
• They are Companions.

They are similar to one another. They are counterparts to one another.

In many Culture of the world, women are put down – I think in our Ghanaian Culture but we are getting out of it gradually though we are not totally free.

When a woman grows old, she becomes “a witch” in our part of the world.

Isn’t it amazing that young, nice looking women are not called witches? The moment they grow old they become “witches.”

And the men don’t become wizards – When they become Old they become Wise Men.

And all of a sudden that wonderful woman becomes “a witch.” Sometimes even our own mothers and our Aunties.

How many of us haven’t seen our Aunties as witches?

Almost every Ghanaian was raised with that view, “that the old Ladies in her family, be careful of them.”

And today we may see it as a joke, but there is still that understanding.

There are certain Ministries that their whole Philosophy of Ministry is based on that – “The Culture of Witchcraft.”

The Culture that you are not doing well because there’s an old woman (and normally women) bewitching you – The bewitching of women has become a Cultural thing.

So this whole idea that women are going to School and sometimes we sit in class with them and they have good grades.

You know, since they started coming to class with us we’ve not been having it easy. When the men were the only ones in class with us we were having good grades by ourselves until the women join in and they just started by passing us.

And many men can’t deal with that.

And the saddest part of it all is when we grow up and we marry; and all of a sudden you think, “This woman who used to beat me in class is inferior to me.”

By what measurement I’m not sure. At least the common rule is that she was smarter than you and she’s Probably a better Manager of Resources than you are.

When Adam saw Eve, at this time she had no child. He said, she shall be called Woman; she’s bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh – She’s part of me, she’s my Companion, she’s my Colleague and so I respect her.

We have to get the Culture of the respect of Womanhood right – We have to respect women.

And I believe that the mark of Civilization in any Culture is the respect for Womanhood.

Any Culture that does not have that respect for Womanhood is barbaric.

For us to show ourselves as a civilized Society, we have to show respect to women the way Adam showed Eve respect.

Now, what I just read is Adam’s view of Eve before the fall.

And you know what happened; this woman comes into Adam’s Life and one day starts a conversation with a Creature in the Garden called the serpent;

• She gets swayed from God’s Purposes.
• She does what God says, “Don’t do.”
• And introduces whatever it is to her husband.
• The husband also gets involved and they fall.

Now, that’s trouble.

And as a result of the fall everything changed;

• Adam’s relationship with God changed.
• Adam’s relationship with Eve changed.
• They are driven away their home in Eden. They are sent out.

I wonder how Adam is going to look at this woman again – I was living my Life, I was doing well by myself until you came along.

Now, look at us – We are Homeless; we have no Dominion, we have no good relationship with God and apart from that, we have curses upon our lives.

And all because you wandered and spoke to the wrong guy.

Now, if that happened in any Male-Female relationship, it’s going to lead to all kinds of issues.

Even if it’s between a Male and a Male, it will still result in issues:

Somebody who comes into your Life and disrupt the rhythm of your Life.

HOW DID ADAM SEE EVE AFTER THE FAll?

So let’s look at how Adam saw Eve after the fall.

Before the fall, he says she shall be called Woman – She’s bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh.

She shall be called Woman because she is taken out of me.

Now trouble comes, what does he call her?

Let’s listen carefully to Genesis 3:20:

And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all Living.

Adam called the Woman two (2) names:

I. First, before the fall Woman, “she’s part of me.”

Now trouble has come, they’re driven out of the Garden, they’re Homeless, there are curses upon them; the man is going to suffer to make money, the woman is going to suffer to bring forth children.

II. Adam after the fall looks at this woman and calls her Eve.

And the reason is because he says, “Eve is the Mother of all Living.” Wow!

I used to see this as a demotion – I thought maybe Adam now says, all the woman can do is Produce Babies.

But it’s more than that.

He says Eve is Mother – It means Nurturer of Life. The one who nurtures Life.

The Hebrew word for Eve is Hawa. It means Life.

• Before the fall, “Part of me.”
• After the fall, “Life.”

Is it the same woman who got you into trouble? Yes.

What’s her name? Life.

Think about it!

The woman takes him into trouble, he could have called her names like, trouble, evil, temptation, destroyer.

Or if he was a Ghanaian, “Witch.” But he calls her Life – She brought trouble, Life!

Adam’s Attitude to this woman doesn’t change – Respect not lost and nothing destroyed.

He says, well, we are in trouble but we are in it together. And you are the future of the Human race – You are going to continue the Human race.

WHAT DOES MOTHER MEAN?

1. Mother means, Source; one who Originates.

Adam trusted Eve to bring the next Generation to Life – She is going to be the Source of the Human race.

And every Human Being that has come subsequent to Adam and Eve, who were born as we understand birth now, has come through a woman (Source).

2. The word Mother also means Sustainer – One who gives Strength.

And throughout Human History, even when we have disrespected women; they have been our Keepers.

*It is not for nothing that Mother’s Day is more celebrated than Father’s Day and It is not for nothing that all of us have a higher respect for our mothers sometimes than our fathers.

These days it’s becoming equal – That is if you are a Good father.

It is very easy for a man to have a child and leave the child but very difficult for a woman to have a child and leave the child.

Women become mothers under all kinds of circumstances – Sometimes approved, sometimes not approved.

When they are in School – Two (2) children are in school; a boy impregnates a girl. The boy goes his merry way, the girl is the one who gets pregnant.

In our part of the world, she is the one who’s going to be denied going to school, denied sitting for an
exam.

After she gives birth, she has to now think of what to do – I am sixteen (16) years and I have a child, do I still go to school or stay behind to take care of my baby?

The boy is up his merry way; looking good for another girl, while the girl has to juggle all of these.

And there are People who become mothers at sixteen (16) – They are the ones who bear the shame, who bears the insults.

They are the ones who are told that they are bad girls.

The boys are never told they are bad boys – People say they are adventurous.

They say the girl is the bad girl, she likes boys that’s why she’s pregnant.

You know it’s both of them, but the Society puts all the blame and burden on the girl.

And sometimes there are women who start Motherhood at sixteen (16) and take care of their child (children) and never abandon the child.

They go through extreme hunger and deprivation, and do everything Possible to make sure the child survives. And the father cannot be found.

People say, “Oh! Don’t worry he’s a young man.” But that’s a young woman too.

And I am not holding brief for that kind of Lifestyle.

But peradventure if you are a Parent, may God not let it happen.

But peradventure if it should happen that your child goes through that Process; you should know better, and never lay more burden on that young girl than Life has already laid on her.

I am not saying encourage it; but if it happens, you can’t put more burden on her – She’s already burdened, you can’t put more burden on her than Life had already put on her.

Because at sixteen (16), she has to juggle with Life.

At a very immature age, she has to know how to survive – How to go to school, finish school, get a degree and start working.

And the boy is totally unencumbered.

It is for that reason that we always encourage ladies that when you are making some of these decisions, Please remember you are the one who bears the greatest burden – It’s you!

The mam will go his merry way; and some will deny the pregnancy, especially if the man is already married.

The man is already living his Life, now he’s ruining yours at a very young age.

And there’s no Pressure of Life that should allow you to bring that burden on yourself because you are a mother.

But a mother should be in a Position to Properly nurture a child; not a mother who is also a child and needs nurturing.

Eve, the Mother and Sustainer.

And I like Adam’s attitude – His attitude is very beautiful in the Bible, and it shows me the image of Womanhood as God intended it to be.

He calls her bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh. And even after the sin had occured and God comes to them in the Garden and asked, “Adam, what happened?” He said, the woman You gave me.

Now, it may seem like an excuse. But he never denied that this woman came from God – “The Woman God gave me.”

I wonder how many men can say that about their wives when there has been trouble in the family – “This is still in the woman God gave me.”

She is not a devil, she is not a witch, she is not a tigress, she is not a trouble causer, she is not the one who has ruined my whole Life and Destiny.

I would have become Greater, I would have become better, but for her.

Look at how my Life was going – I was leading, I was controlling everything and she came. Look at where we are!

But he said, “The Woman God gave me.”

And I hope that all men will see women as a Gift from God.

WHAT IS MOTHERHOOD?

1. Motherhood is a Calling.

When we say it’s a calling, it means that it is something that carries responsibility.

And that’s why you don’t start when you are not ready.

Because it’s an awesome responsibility – The Mother of all Living Human Beings.

The whole Human race is entrusted to the women, and they bear the responsibility – A Calling!

2. Motherhood is a Gift.

In other words, it’s God who gives us the Grace and the ability to bring children into this world.

3. Motherhood is Redemptive.

And this is the part that I like about the Story of Adam and Eve.

In Genesis 3:15 God says, And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

God Promised that out of the woman shall come a Redeemer.

The woman introduced Temptation; but the woman will also introduce the Redeemer – Isn’t it amazing?

God is saying, I am not going to make women bear the burden of the world’s Problem forever, because out of the same Place where the Temptation came, the same place the Redemption would come.

And when the time came, out of a woman called Mary, God brought forth His Only Begotten Son, that in Him the head of the serpent would be crushed.

Now, you can’t blame women for the troubles of this world, it’s equalized.

And actually, what they did later is greater than the first, because they brought the Redeemer who crushed the serpent.

And for those who are Christians, we are Christians because there was a woman (Mary).

Thank God He didn’t say a man shall conceive. But it says, a Virgin shall conceive and you shall call the child Emmanuel.

Out of a woman came the Redeemer – Motherhood is Redemptive.

Anytime a woman gives birth she has introduced Redemption to the world.

Not in the sense of Jesus Christ, but we don’t know the future of that child: That child could be the one who has the cure to AIDS, or to Cancer; or the one who would bring about a great Invention that improves Human Life.

Every year, every day, every moment, women are Producing Destinies into the world.

And those Destinies are the People who go on to make our lives better.

They are not trouble causers, the are redeemers of the Human race – “The Seed of the woman shall bruise the head of the serpent.”

And for every woman here today, or reading this Message now on the Label of DMC, I Pray that your Seed shall bruise the head of the serpent – Amen.

If there is Poverty in your family, may God give you a Seed to bruise the head of Poverty – Amen.

If there is discord in your family, may God give you a Seed to bruise the head of discord – Amen.

Whatever Problem is in the Society, may God give you a Seed to be an answer to that Problem – Amen.

You are not the cause of the world’s Problem, you are the Producer of the Redeemers of Life – Motherhood is Redemptive!

EVE AS A MOTHER

Now, let’s look at Eve (before I close) as a Mother.

Not much is said about her in the Bible – Very little is said, but we can learn a lot from the little that is said about her.

Just one Verse says so much about this woman.

Genesis 4:1:

And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have acquired a man from the LORD.

“… I have acquired a child from the LORD.” Just one Statement!

I can imagine how she felt when she was Pregnant – Did she know what would come out of her? She delivers and it’s a Human Being.

Now, if you’ve been a young Parent before, you would appreciate that. When you are told your wife has delivered you’re wondering, what?

Because when you are a young parent or your wife is pregnant, you go through all kinds of anxiety – What if she delivers and the child has this, or the child has that?

You think of all the deformities Possible, and you just hope it’s a Human Being. What if she delivers something else?

So to deliver, because nobody has delivered a child before; when Eve is pregnant I’m sure she knows there is something inside her.

And one day she delivers and it’s a Human Being.

And she says, “I have acquired a child from the LORD.” – I have Produced a Human Being from God.

That Statement is very Pregnant. And it says a few things about Eve.

1. She saw God as a Giver of Life.

First, it says something about her view of Life – She saw God as a Giver of Life.

She didn’t see the child as her own making, she saw the child as originating from God.

And that is very important for all of us that: God is the Giver of Life – Life is a Gift from God.

That’s why we cannot destroy Life because of our convenience.

No Human Being is worthless: whether it’s the Life of the unborn or the Life of the sick; God is the Giver of Life.

When you have a child in you God is the Giver of Life – The child is in you, but the child doesn’t belong to you totally, the child is a Gift from God.

Sometimes women feel very inconvenienced by Pregnancy – They feel they have to abort the child.

Many times in our Society when we think about abortion, we only think about Teenagers who get Pregnant wrongly.

But a lot of married People sometimes also feel the child is inconvenient – Maybe I have up to five (5) children already, this one is a trouble causer, so let me get rid of it.

But that is Life!

God is the Giver of Life and you have no idea what you have in your womb – You have no idea.

David was an eighth (8th) child; Joseph was an eleventh (11th) child – What if the father said, “I have ten (10) children already?”

You have no idea what you are carrying. It may seem inconvenient for now, but fifty (50) years from now you have no idea the Solution that child is going to bring.

Some of the People who have achieved the Greatest in this Life were given birth to under some of the most painful circumstances.

• Some were products of Rape.
• Some were products of Incest.
• Some were products of all kinds of bizarre circumstances.

The circumstance of your birth may be illegitimate and illegal but the child is never illegitimate or illegal.

Every child is Legitimate and every child is Legal; but the arrangement that brought him or her may be illegitimate and illegal.

And don’t punish the child for what the adult did – The father and mother may have sinned, but you didn’t sin.

Don’t punish the child for what the parents did – The Parents may be irresponsible but the child is responsible.

The child need to be taken care of.

And as a Church, we try as much as Possible to separate the sin of Parents from the Life of a child.

And we’re not going to say, well, the Process was sinful, so the child cannot be accepted by the Church – If the Church cannot accept the child, who should accept the child?

That doesn’t mean you condone it, but you have to understand that having a child and producing a child is redemptive, it’s not a Punishment.

Eve said, “I have acquired a child from the LORD: God is the Giver of Life.”

2. She saw herself as a Partner with God.

Eve saw herself as working with God to bring Human Beings into existence – “I have acquired a child…”

It shows that although Life comes from God, we must do something for that Life to come.

And I am not going into that today.

Sometimes, the Process of acquiring a child can be frustrating – For some couple it comes easily, while for others it takes a lot of effort.

Abraham and Sarah spent a long time just to acquire a child. And for some, with very little efforts, some even say, “We didn’t know it would Produce a child and a child came.”

But for others, acquiring that child is a hard, painful and frustrating effort.

And I Pray for every couple that is trying to acquire a child and is frustrated; the Lord would have Grace and Mercy. Even when you despair and you don’t expect, out of nowhere, God will give you that child – Amen.

“I have acquired a child” – She saw herself as a Partner with God.

3. She received her child as a Gift from God.

When you listen to Eve you can see the Gratitude with which she spoke – She was Grateful for the opportunity to nurture another Human Being. Her child was a gift from God.

And that should be every mother’s attitude towards your children.

But interestingly this boy did some terrible things in Life – Cain whom Eve said, “I have acquired from the LORD” became a Murderer.

And that is something we don’t understand.

We can’t tell all the decisions our children will make in Life and we can’t control all the decisions they can make.

But we can always say, “I acquired him or her from the LORD.”

And that also means that if he came from the LORD, you have to always Present him or her in Prayer to the LORD – You have to Pray for that child constantly.

You have to stand in the gap for that child because the devil is going to tempt that child and the devil is going to try to mislead that child.

And Cain missed it!

Does it mean the child who becomes a bad boy didn’t come from God?

He came from God.

But you have to constantly surround them in Prayer.

You can look at your own Life and remember many times when one little decision would have taken you totally different from where you are today.

Just one decision.

All of us can remember one small decision and we didn’t take it.

Why didn’t you take it?

I’m sure somebody Prayed for you – Maybe your mother, maybe your grandmother; maybe somebody was Praying that God will lead you are guide you.

Listen to me Parents – Your children are going to come to the junction of Life, when it’s either they are going to be a Murderer or they’re going to a Redeemer: What is going to help them is your Prayer!

I believe with all my heart that much of what I am doing in my Life is as a result of my mother’s Prayer.

I believe that with all my heart that If it weren’t for her Prayer, I wouldn’t be where I am now.

I know junctions of my Life when decisions I was not conscious of, I had to take them, and they led me to this Path.

Even after she had died many years before, Prayer never dies! Her Prayer is still an incense before God and became my guide.

And mothers, if there is anything you can leave for your children, it’s Prayer.

There’s Power in a mother’s Prayer.

Fathers can bless once in a while but mothers intercede for their children.

They prayed for their children, and they speak into their lives – They talk to Heaven about their lives.

Don’t ever think you are speaking into the air, and don’t think that child’s Life is wasted and that nothing will happen – Something is going to happen.

One of these days, your child will turn around and come back to you, because your Prayer will avail one day.

Confess your faults one to another, and Pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent Prayer of a Righteous man availeth much (DMC NOTES: James 5:16).

Today on this Mother’s Day, for every Mother whose child is giving you pain, may God hear your cry and bring your child round – Amen.

May your child be the Redeemer in your family, and may he or she bring Redemption to your family – Amen.

You should be able to say: I acquired him or her from the LORD; this is God’s Gift to me.

This is a blessing to our family and this blessing would not become a curse – Amen.

This blessing will not become shame; but this blessing will remain a Blessing – Amen.

May the Lord continue to hear your Prayer as a Mother – Amen.

And for those of you who are not married, you say, “I am not a mother yet” Pray!

Pray about your future as a mother – That will help you to raise Righteous children.

And for those who for some reason may not be able to Biologically produce a child, there are other options to be a Mother:

I. You can Adopt a child, you can Raise a child.

Because every child, whether came from your womb or another Person’s womb, were acquired from the Lord. Every Child!

And if you open your heart, God can bring Joy into your Life by giving you a child you didn’t labour for, but acquired from the LORD. And raise up that child.

II. You could be a Foster Parent.

If you don’t have a chance to adopt, you could be a Foster Parent.

III. You could be a good Aunt, a good Big Mummy.

You could raise your brother’s children, raise your sister’s children.

IV. You can be an Inspiration.

If there’s no child in your family, you can help children all over.

• There are so many of them in the Streets.
• So many of them looking for a home to live in.
• Looking for somebody to call Mama, somebody to call Mother.

There are children who are crying just yo call somebody “My Mother.” Because there is Nobody to call their nother.

May you be a good Mother to that child – Amen.

And may you (husbands) be the fathers when your wives open their hearts for another child.

I hope that God will touch your heart also to welcome those children into you homes.

FINAL BLESSING

On this Mother’s Day we speak God’s Blessing upon every woman:

Be Fruitful and Multiply.

Replenish the Earth and Subdue it.

May the Blessing of God rest upon you and upon your children; upon your children’s children.

May your Seed bring Redemption to the world.

May your Seed be Blessed.

May God bless everything that comes out of you.

May the Lord bring happiness and Joy to your Home.

And may your Children surround you with great happiness and Joy.

May God give you Peace!

And may God bless your Womb and make you Fruitful in every area, in the Name of Jesus – Amen!
