OPENING PRAYER
Our Father and our God, Ancient of Days, the Unchangeable Changer – We Worship You.
The One who was, the One who is, the One who is to come;
The One who had been, the One who will always be, the Almighty God.
The One who has never lost a war, the Lord of Host Himself – Glory be to Your Holy Name.
Thank You for Your Church in Canada,
Thank You for those who Graduated,
Thank You for those You have Ordained,
Thank You for those who are rejoicing with them
Please accept our Thanks in Jesus Name.
Father, we are waiting on You today: We are expecting something Miraculous, and something only You can do.
And touch each and everyone of us.
We have been hearing of Miracles that You have Performed in the Past; do something New today.
Give everyone of us a New Beginning.
And even before tomorrow, let everyone of us already have Testimonies.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.
Once again shout Hallelujah – Hallelujah!
Shake hands with one (1) or two (2) People and tell him or her that God will surprise you today.
You may Please be seated.
We want to Thank the Almighty God for making it Possible for my wife and I to be in your midst during this Year’s Convention.
I Pray that this will be one Convention that you will never forget – Amen
And I am decreeing that even before this Night is out, you will feel a Touch of God – Amen
I want to rejoice with those of us who have either Graduated from the School of Disciples (SOD) or Bible College – Congratulations.
And even more than that, I want to rejoice with those who has been Ordained.
You know that in all these cases, there had been a First Touch and then a Second Touch.
Whether you are Graduating from the School of Disciples (SOD) or the Bible College or even at the Level of Ordination; you might not realised it but you have just received a Second Touch.
You see in Mark 3: 13-15, when Jesus Christ called some People to Himself and then selected certain among them to become His Disciples; they were all receiving a First Touch.
A First Touch of several things but Particularly a First Touch of Power.
Because He said: You, you and you; I want you to come and have Fellowship with me and go with me wherever I go – And then, He gave them Power.
And then years Passed – Going with him everywhere, learning as they were going; just as you have been doing in the Schools of Disciple (SOD) , Bible College and Ministry.
And then a day came when He looked at them and felt: Alright these People are ready for Graduation.
And then He gave them a Second Touch in John 20: 21-23.
The Bible says that He breathed on them.
He is saying: Alright now, you have done your Training now; let us give you a Second Touch.
So, I just rejoice with those who have Graduated and those of you who has been Ordained; you may not know it but you have received a Second Touch.
I can give you several Examples but since they want us to talk on Second Touch – Part 1; maybe the others will come in along the way:
Like when the Mantle fell on Elisha in 1 Kings 19: 19-21.
.., That was the First Touvh of the Mantle.
And then after years of going around with Elijah, the time came for him to receive a Second Touch.
In the meantime, that he has been going around with this Great Man of God, the Bible tells us that he was Pouring water on his hands – He learnt a lot of things.
If for example you read 2 Kings Chapter 13 alone, you will see that this Man learnt a lot:
☆ He saw the Master brought Fire down on those who said that they came to arrest him.
☆ He saw naked demonstration of the Power of God.
But then when the day came for him to Graduate, he did a little bit of Examination because the Master gave him a few important Questions:
Son, you have tried enough; you can go your way now
He said that I can’t go without a Certificate, I am going to follow you.
Till finally Oga said to him that I am about to cross the River o and I know you can’t swim. You cross this River with me, you know that there is no turning back.
He said let us go.
He Passed the Exam of Loyalty and he Passed the Exam of Consecration.
That was why I rejoice with those two (2) ladies who got Special Awards even though I am a bit curious – There are two (2) Prizes and the two (2) of them went to the girls. I was wondering what happened to the boys?
When he Passed that final Examination, the Anointed Mantle that touched him when he entered either the School of Disciple (SOD) or Bible College; the Mantle now became his own Certificate.
Because from that day onwards, Nobody took the Mantle from him.
I Pray for those of you who has Graduated or have been Ordained; that the Certificate they will give you will not be Ordinary Paper – Amen.
It will be your own Special Second Touch – Amen.
But then, I am not asked to really speak only to those of you who Graduated or are Ordained; I am to talk to everybody – All of us want something from God that we will remember!
My Bible Text will therefore be Matthew 8: 1-3.
Matthew 8:1-3:
- When he was come down from the Mountain, great Multitudes followed him.
- And, behold, there came a Leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
- And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his Leprosy was cleansed.
I want to talk to you briefly tonight on: “The Power of the First Touch”.
Because some of us in our eagerness for the Second Touch, forget the Significance of the First Touch.
When I was Younger – I am still Young whether you believe it or not.
If you are still Young, why are you still sitting down to Preach? Wisdom is better than Strength.
And if there is anything Old Age teaches you, it is Wisdom.
When I was Younger, in our Village we have these People who sell Medicines – We call them Medicine Man.
And they come and sell every kind of Tablets to us – They themselves don’t know anything about what they are selling.
Only God knows how many People died – Killed by Medicine Man.
Then all of a sudden, this long Tablets called Capsules came and the Medicine Man came to my Village and said that I have found one Tablet that can cure all diseases.
And so, when you have Stomach ache, one Capsule; when you have Fever, the same Capsule – We didn’t know the difference. Even the one selling it doesn’t know the difference.
There is a Tablet, a Capsule that can cure every Problem – That is a Single Touch from the Lord Jesus Christ.
And that Touch, you will get Tonight – Amen.
So, there was this Leper – I am sure that you know that Leper is an Incurable fellow in those days.
He came to Jesus Christ, knelt down before Him and say: Somehow, I know sir that if you are willing; you can make me Clean.
And Jesus Christ said: Well since you know it and if the only doubt you have is whether I will be willing or not; He said that I am willing.
And then He touched him and instantly all the Problems of the Leper came to an end.
What are the Problems that are in your Life that will disappear tonight?
Whatever that Problem may be, only one Touch from the Almighty God will wipe all of them out and it will be done Tonight
What kind of Problems are we talking about?
- The Leper without any doubt was sick – Sick Incurably.
I don’t know what the Doctors may have said concerning your situation; as the God that I serve lives, the God who is the same Yesterday, Today and Forever, the God who has never failed before; it doesn’t matter what they may say.
Because God is going to Touch you tonight, by tomorrow morning, you will have a Testimony – Amen.
Why? Because the One who gave him one Touch is the One who is called “The Great Physician” (Exodus 15:26).
Just one Touch from Jesus Christ is a Touch from the Great Physician.
The moment He touched the Leper, he got a little bit of what made Jesus, Jesus – That thing that made Him “The Original Physician”.
And that same Jesus is here Tonight.
- He wasn’t just sick but Poor.
He has no job – Nobody will give a job to a Leper because you don’t want to touch what he has touched.
But the One who touched him, is the One who said: Silver is mine, Gold is mine; He is the One who said that the Earth is mine and the fullness thereof.
You know that when you talk of Poverty, what they should be talking about is “Unequal distribution of Wealth” because there is enough money in any Nation to make everybody rich.
Occasionally, when you read about certain People and they say that this fellow has so many billions of Dollars.
You should ask yourself the Question: If this money were to be distributed equally, none of us will lack one way or the other.
The money is in the hands of People who didn’t even know what to do with it.
And the One who touched that Leper is the One who has the Ability to cause Wealth to Change hands.
When I say that a Touch from Him is going to wipe away your Poverty, kindly don’t ask me how?
Because one thing that I have always told those of you who are my children is that your brain is too small to understand how God will do what He says that He will do.
So, I have Good News for you – Because I was telling those who came for Morning Devotion this morning that the only thing that can bring me back to Canada no matter how much you can Pray is if you tell me that Daddy, our Campground is ready.
But your Leaders has told me that to even get the thing going at all, they need so much Millions of Dollars.
But I know without any doubt that Somebody is here who can believe – He will call the Pastor and say: Sir, how much do you say that you need?
I have seen Him in Action before and so I know what I am talking about.
I have seen Him Provide in a way only He can do it.
I have seen Him meet my Needs in a way that you can only call Miraculous.
You know that when we talk about Poverty, Poverty is in degrees – I know what it is to be Poor.
I can remember very clearly one day at the Redemption Camp when there was no money at all to buy meat for the children.
As far as my wife and I are concerned, whether there is meat or not, that we can find food to get, Glory be to God.
But here are these children – At least before we came to Full Time Ministry, they have never known a day where there is no meat.
But on that Particular occasion, there was no money to buy meat.
So to Prepare their Mind for dinner without meat, I took them on a Stroll – The Camp was bush then and so we could stroll in the bush.
And I spoke to them – Telling them that when we were Young, our Parents used to cook okra meat.
Some of you don’t know what is called okra meat – You take a whole okra, you cut off the top and the bottom and then throw it to the real okra soup.
I told my children – Okra meat, very delicious.
As we were going in the bush, I was Preparing their Mind for okra meat.
Then we have one little dog then – Very tough little dog that was going with us on the stroll.
All of a sudden, the dog branched into the bush and the next thing we heard was the cry of a small animal. By the time we looked, he has brought out a Squirrel.
I saw on Television – They said that Squirrels are taking over a Particular City. I said Oh God, if only they will let loose some of us, we will help them deal with the Squirrel.
DMC NOTES: The News reported that Ground Squirrels took over Minot, North Dakota in the United States causing widespread issues for City Officials).
We has to struggle to take the Squirrel from the dog.
And so that Night, meat was there – Squirrel.
And when we are eating – The whole family sharing a Squirrel, the children asked me: Where is the okra meat? I said next time.
That is more than thirty (30) years ago, next time has never come.
I don’t know who I am talking to? But because you are going to get a Touch Tonight, you will never lack again – Amen.
- Another Problem that the Leper has was that he was lonely.
Nobody keeps a Leper company.
You can’t talk about a Leper wanting to marry.
He was of Marriageable Age but who is going to marry him?
But because he was touched by the One who said that I will never leave you and I will never forsake you; it wasn’t long after that touch that he got married.
Because all those who has been moving away from him, when they suddenly saw him made completely whole; he became the talk of the Town.
And it wasn’t long after that, that he got married.
Do you know who I am talking to?
There is Somebody here Tonight or reading this Message now on the Label of DMC who is going to have a Touch and all those People who are meant for you from Heaven – Is it a wife, is it a husband will locate you. Before this Year runs out, Wedding Bell is going to ring – Amen.
Your loneliness is going to end!
- The next Problem that follows comes immediately after Loneliness was that he was barren.
Why was he barren? Because he has no Partner.
But after God touched him, after he got married, then automatically, Fruitfulness came to an end.
… Just one Touch and Barrenness will vanish.
One Touch can put an end to all your Fruitless Efforts!
Because like I have always told you – Barrenness does not mean lack of children alone.
A Barren couple, they tried very hard and made the necessary efforts without results.
Just one Touch from the Almighty God because there are quite a few of us who has been away from home and things are not quite rosy as we thought it will be here.
And we couldn’t go back home because we are afraid of what People will say – You have gone all these years, where is the results?
There are some of us working two (2) or three (3) jobs, that People will ask: Sir/Ma, where is the result? Where is the Fruit?
But I am decreeing to Someone today or those reading this Message now on the Label of DMC: In the Name that is above every other name, your Fruitless Efforts end Tonight – Amen.
Because the One who touched him was the One who said that I am the Vine and you are the Branches.
Just a Touch from Him then the Fruitful Vine will become really Fruitful.
- Another Problem was Stagnation.
He has never been Promoted since he became a Leper.
Promoted to become what?
Senior Leper? Or the Director of the Leper Colony?
But the One who touched him is the One called “The Great Promoter”.
The One who according to 1 Samuel 2: 7-9 – The One the Bible said can even pick up a Beggar from the dunghill and continue to lift him up until he begins to dine with Kings.
Many of us has been working hard. Even in our places of work, at the end of the Year, when they want to write Recommendation about you; they say: Very Diligent, very Honest et cetera et cetera.
But when it comes to Promotion, they forget you.
In the Name that is above every other name, after this Convention, your Promotion will be Accelerated – Amen.
Because just one little Touch from the Great Promoter and they will remember you – Amen.
And they will, begin to say: This fellow has been here this long with not a Single Query and never late to work; how come is he still on one spot?
It takes God to do that.
You know that when God wants to Promote you, He could cause Somebody to have a Dream or two (2) Dreams in one Night – You know the Story of Joseph.
And I am decreeing that the One who should help you, tonight will have a Dream about you – Amen.
- Another Problem that the Leper had is that in those days, Leprosy was considered Probably one of the biggest Curses that can come upon Somebody.
But because the One who delivers from the Curses touched him and the curse on his Life came to an end.
You know that Galatians 3:13 talks about the One who has delivered us from the Curse of the Law.
Many of us are where we are now because of a Curse.
☆ A Curse is a summon on all Forces in Heaven, all Forces on Earth and all Forces underneath the Earth, to work against Somebody and to make sure that the fellow will not move forward.
And there are some of us who has done things that has caused our Parents or Someone with Authority to place a Curse on us.
☆ A Curse is like an Invincible Chain binding your hands so that what you touch won’t Prosper.
I mean you see Somebody doing a business and they are doing very well. And then you say that you will do the same thing.
But the moment you start your own business, even when you borrow money to start a business; the business will fail and the money will frizzle out.
There are lots of People who are Debtors today not because they don’t know what to do – They are doing what others are doing and they are Succeeding but there is an ‘Unseen Chain” binding their hands
☆ A Curse is an unseen Chain binding a man’s feet so that when thry move forward, that force will pull them back.
Some of you know what I am talking about – Don’t do as if it only happens in Africa.
I have told that some People say that demons are only in Africa – And I laugh.
And I have told them that the difference between the demons in Africa and the demons in Canada or any other Sophisticated Countries:
It is simply that the demons in Africa didn’t go to School – That’s the difference.
And you know what? The demons in Africa are easy to recognise and sp easy to deal with.
I mean that you see a Mad Man walking on the Street totally naked; it is easy for you to know what to do – You see him coming on one side of the road, you cross to the other side.
But among the People here, some of the demons are wearing 3-Pieces suit, riding Royce Rolls and some of them have three (3) PhD’s.
And so very difficult to recognise.
So until they are close enough to do you harm, you won’t even know.
☆ A Curse is telling Demon to Pursue Someone until they reduced him/her to Nothing.
Whether the Curse is from your father’s house or mother’s house or from your In-law house; I lift up my hand to the Most High God and I decree that the Curse is destroyed – Amen.
- Another Problem of the Leper is that he was Poor.
You can’t have all these Problems that I have mentioned and be happy.
That’s why I don’t blame many of you People in these Advanced Nations of the world – You know that they can’t even laugh.
On one occasion, I went to one shop in London, they called it Harrods – That is the biggest shop in the whole world and the most expensive. And so “Ordinary People” like me don’t go there.
DMC NOTES: London’s biggest and most famously expensive Store is Harrods. Located in the affluent district of Knightsbridge, this luxury department Store covers 5 acres of land, spans 8 floors, and houses over 330 Departments.
But I have heard so much about the Place – I mean that day for example; I saw a pen that cost using your Currency about $200,000.
That was the kind of shop that we are talking about.
And so you will understand why People like me don’t want to go there.
But then, I heard that you can go there and have a cup of tea just for about $25 or $30 – And so I say that at least I can afford that. I am going in there to see what is it that is so Special there.
So when we have gone round and saw all the things that we can never dream of buying – I mean for example that Pen that I mentioned they made, only seven (7) of them.
And Bill Gates got one, Prince Charles (Now King Charles) got one.
About two (2) of them is left and I looked at the two (2) Pen very well and say thank you very much.
So finally I told my children that we should go and drink tea now – At least we could afford that.
So we sat down and we began to drink tea.
And without looking back, I told my children that the People behind me are the Aristocracy – I mean Big People.
My children looked back and they saw them too.
They say: Daddy, how do you know? And I said that from their Laughter.
I am not that rich but I can laugh because I know Joy!
And in the Name that is above every other name; by the end of this Convention you won’t know Sorrow again – Amen.
- Without any doubt, that Leper has a very big Problem – And that is Hopelessness.
All the others he could manage but his biggest Problem was that there was no hope for him.
He knew that he was like a Walking Corpse – People run from him.
There was no drug that could cure him and:
☆ He knew that for the rest of his Life, he was going to be lonely.
☆ He knew that for the rest of his Life, no Joy, no Children, no Promotion.
He was Hopeless until Somebody touched him – The One called “The Hope of Glory”.
And all of a sudden, the one who was completely Hopeless one moment suddenly saw that my tomorrow is still going to be alright.
He knew that from the look of things, I can still be Promoted.
… All of a sudden, He has Hope!
But for Jesus Christ, Somebody like me shouldn’t have Hope in Life:
☆ When you talk of Poverty, I am Poor.
☆ When you talk about Sorrow, I have my own to share.
☆ When you talk of any Problem anybody could have, I had my Share.
Until one day that the Hope of the Hopeless touched me.
And you know what?
It was because my situation was Hopeless that brought me to The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
Because before I got Born Again, I had a Problem that all my Mathematics couldn’t solve.
At that time, I was in the University as a Professor and I have a friend (Even though we have not seen for some 30 years) who was doing PhD in Geography and he was doing his Thesis on the Shoreline of Lagos Lagoon
So he was going round collecting sand along the edges of the Lagoon and he asked me to follow him
And because we are friends, I followed him in other to encourage him.
As we got near the Lagoon, I saw a Signboard of this Church – Big wooden Signboard with a big name: “The Redeemed Christian Church of God”
I said oh God and then say a word in my native Language (Yoruba).
I said: “Big name that kills small dog” (DMC NOTES: Oruko nla to pa omo aja)
Because when you look at the Church, it was made of sawdust – Discarded Wood
That is what they put together and called a Church with that Big Title.
When my Problem came and Somebody recommended the Church – He sId that there is a Church when they Pray, God answers.
I said where is the Church and what is the name.
And they gave me the name and I say: Ha, I know that Church – “The little dog with a big name”.
… That’s what brought me there.
And when I get there and the Helper of the Helpless touched me, everything Changed – And I mean that everything Changed.
I have gone Practically round the whole world now and by the Grace of God, I have dined with Kings (Here you call it Prime Minister).
… Just one Touch!
I am going to beg you tonight – Let Him Touch you.
Get one Touch tonight and when the time comes, we will talk about the Second Touch”.
Now that you know what you can get from the First Touch, that should Prepare your Mind about what He will do if He touches you a Second Time.
But you have to come to Him for the First Touch.
He is willing to solve all your Problems.
He did it in the Life of the Leper but you have to come to Him first.
ALTAR CALL
So, if you are here Tonight – You may be the only fellow.
You might have come tonight to Celebrate with your friend who is Graduating or who is being Ordained.
But God brought you here so that you can hear this “Little Message”.
And you know what?
Before tomorrow morning, all your Problems might be gone.
Because the Bible says that: “If any man be in Christ, he is a Ndw Creature; Old Things has Passed away, all Things has become New” (DMC NOTES: 2 Corinthians 5: 17).
So, I am going to count from one (1) to seven (7).
If you want to Surrender your Life to Jesus and you want that First Touch because your Problem is amomg those ones that I have already mentioned and you want the Problems gone.
Before I count up to seven (7), come and Stand before the Altar here and we will Pray together.
He will save your Soul and give you a Touch and you will never forget Tonight,
So if you want to come, I am counting now!
Now, those of you who are already infront, you can go ahead and talk to Jesus Christ:
Ask Him to Please have Mercy on you,
Ask Him to save your Soul,
Tell Him that you want to serve Him from now on.
And He will Touch you tonight.
Go ahead and talk to Him.
The rest of us, Please Stretch your hand towards these People and Intercede for them.
That the One who saved your Soul will save their own Souls also.
Go ahead and Pray for them for 2 Minutes.
Thank You Father!
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen,
PRAYER FOR SALVATION
My Father and my God, I want to Thank You for Your Words tonight and Thank You especially for these People who has come forward to have an Encounter with You.
Please receive them, have Mercy on them, save their Souls, wrote their names in the Book of Life.
And from now Oh Lord, let them serve You.
From this moment onwards, anytime they cry to You for anything; Please answer them by Fire.
And let them serve You forever.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.
Praise the Lord – Hallelujah.
How many of you believed that just one Touch from God will clear all your Problems?
Then Stand on your feet and shout Hallelujah – Hallelujah!
CLOSING PRAYER
My Father and my God, I want to Thank You – Thank You for Your Children that are Gathered here Tonight.
I know that Your Name is Wonderful:
Tonight, in the lives of everyone of us Father, Perform Wonders.
That Touch that can clear all our Problems, release unto us.
Physically, Touch us today
Materially, Touch us today.
Emotionally, Touch us today
Maritally, Touch us today
Even in our various Ministries, Touch us today
That Touch that will put an end Permanently to the Sorrows in our Life, Touch us today.
And then the Grace Lord to cling unto You forever; give it to us in Jesus Name
From now on, don’t let us ever know Sorrow.
Don’t let us know Failure,
Don’t let us know Stagnation
Keep on helping us
And help us till the very End.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen,
PERSONAL PRAYER REQUEST
Now, even if it is only for 5 Minutes – It is up to you.
But if I were you, I will really cry to God tonight.
You will lift up your voice to Him and say: Father, You are the Solution to all my Problems; Please Touch me tonight.
Father, just one Touch from You that will solve all my Problems; Almighty God Touch me Tonight!
Go ahead and cry to Him now!!!
