OPENING PRAYER

Abba Father, we are here once again.

The Creator of Heaven and Earth, we bow before You.

Be exalted, in the Name of Jesus.

Father, we have come to learn at Your feet.

The Bible says, “The entrance of Your Word giveth lLght and Understanding even unto the Simple.” (DMC NOTES: Psalms 119:130)

“The Simple” may mean the foolish.

Father, even as Your Word will be going forth in and through me;

Father, we ask O Lord, that the foolish will understand Your Word, in the Name of Jesus.

That the Wise will become Wiser, in the Name of Jesus.

Heal the sick, in the Name of Jesus.

Set the Captives free, in the Name of Jesus.

Let Jesus be seen. Let Jesus be Glorified.

For in Jesus’ Mighty Name we will never stop Praying – Amen.

Let Somebody shout Halleluyah – Halleluyah.

I want to appreciate our father-in-the-Lord, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye.

And our Mother-in-Israel, Mummy Folu Adeboye.

Thank you for all you do for us.

I Pray, may the Lord continue to take care of you, in the Name of Jesus.

Very quickly, let’s go to what we have today.

Our Main Bible Text is taken from Hebrews 12:1-2;

1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Brethren, I have come tonight like a forerunner to Prepare our Hearts for what God is set to do through our father-in-the-Lord.

I have come like a voice crying in the wilderness, calling us to make straight our paths.

There is a race before us, and there is a destination ahead of us – The Destination is Heaven.

Heaven is not merely a subject to discuss; it is a Destination to Prepare for.

Whether you know it or not; whether you like it or not, every one of us, we are in this race.

Hebrews 12:1 says, “Let us run with Patience the race that is set before us.”

There is a race before us, and there is definitely a Price.

What is the Price? Heaven!

• Heaven is real.
• Heaven is sure.
• Everlasting Life is real.
• The Promise of God is real.

We are not merely living on this Earth, there is an Eternal Inheritance for us, Prepared for everyone who is saved and continues in Christ.

How many of us carry the Spirit of God?

If you carry the Spirit of God, shout Halleluyah – Hallelujah.

The Spirit we carry is from God – And where God dwells, there His Presence is.

Think about a Palace;

What makes a Palace a Palace?

• Is it the decoration?
• Is it the gold?
• Is it the furniture?
• Is it the beauty of the building?

No!

What makes a Palace significant is the Presence of the King.

And Paul says, “Know ye not that ye are the Temple of God.”

In 1 Corinthians 3:16, Know ye not that ye are the Temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”

So, God has not left us alone in this race:

☆ We are in this race, and there is a Price.

☆ We have a Present experience, a foretaste of what is to come.

☆ We have not yet arrived at the fullness of the Inheritance.

The Holy Spirit is the earnest, the guarantee of what is yet to come – We are running, and we are not running alone.

Before we start talking about how to Run the Race, there is one thing that we need to know about things in Heaven.

Though my Brothers who spoke before me tonight have talked about things that are in Heaven, I need to let us understand that:

• Heaven is the fullness of our inheritance in Christ.
• It is Eternal Life with God.
• It is the end of sorrow;
• The end of pain.
• The end of death
• End separation from God.

Revelation 21:4 says, And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, nor shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Is this our Testimony? That God shall wipe away all tears from our eyes?

Think about that:

☆ A place where there is no death.

☆ A place where death has been no Power.

☆ A place where sorrow has no space, where pain has no effect, and where sin will not be able to separate us from God.

What an experience; to behold His face for ever!

So Church, if this destination is this Glorious then the Race cannot be treated causally.

That is why He says we must run the race with Patience – It means we must come to a place of intentionality.

We must come to a place of seriousness – There has to be a difference.

You can be sleepwalking, but you can’t sleep-run – Heaven is worth the Race.

HOW TO RUN THE RACE

I will quickly share with us how to run the Race – Because the first Vision of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) is to make Heaven.

1. Run with the Word of God.

You cannot run a race successfully if you don’t understand it.

The Word of God gives us direction.

Hosea 4:6 says, My People are destroyed for lack of Knowledge.

Even though they are my People, they are destroyed for lack of Knowledge.

There are things that God has already made available to us, but ignorance can keep us from enjoying them.

You know, Pastor Poju Oyemadu on Wednesday (DMC NOTES: Day 3 of IYC 2026) was sharing a Story about a girl whose father died and left an inheritance. She received the documents, even laminated the documents but she does not understand what they contain.

She has Properties, she has Resoruces, but she does not know – She lives as though she had nothing and as though she is suffering.

No wonder Galatians 4:1 says, Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;

• That is why we need the Word.
• That is why we need Knowledge.

The Word of God tells us what belongs to us.

2. We need to feed our Spirit.

Matthew 4:4 says, But he answered and said, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

We need to feed our Spirits.

I need to let us understand that we need both the bread that serves as Physical food and we need the Word of God.

We need both bread and the Word of God to survive.

Just as the body needs Physical food, the Spirit needs Spiritual food.

Some of us feed our Physical bodies without feeding our Spiritual bodies.

No wonder a lot of Christians are Physically fat but Spiritually slim.

We need to feed our Spirit.

We can eat the Word of God.

Jeremiah 15:16 says, Thy words were found, and I did eat them.

Both Physical and Spiritual food need the mouth.

3. We run with Prayer.

Jesus said in Matthew 26:41, Watch and Pray that ye enter not into Temptation:

• Prayer keeps you Spiritually alert.
• Prayer is not just for when you have a Problem.
• Prayer is Fellowship with God.
• We need to cultivate the habit of Prayer.
• We need to build a Prayer Altar.

There is a Race ahead of us and there is a Goal ahead of us to make Heaven.

… That is the first Vision of RCCG.

The race is real; Temptation is real and the enemy is real – Watch and Pray!

4. We need Patience.

Hebrews 12:1 says, “Let us run with Patience the race that is set before us.”

And that is where I come in for our Youth;

I know God has blessed us with so much Vitality, with so much zeal; but we need to run with Patience.

Why do we need to run with Patience?

It is because everybody’s race does not look the same.

Some People may be moving faster than you, but you must understand that you are running your race.

Just look at Jesus, He began His Public Ministry around the age of thirty (30) – Imagine if someone had judged Him before His time.

Imagine if someone, when He was twenty (27) years old had said, “What is wrong with You? You are far behind, You are failing.”

But Jesus was not late – He was in the Father’s Timing.

That’s why we need Patience.

Psalm 27:14 says, Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall Strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

Don’t allow somebody else’s time to make you abandon God’s Process – Stay with God, stay with the Word.

5. We need to lay aside every weight.

Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience
the race that is set before us,

… Not that it says, “Every weight.”

It is not everything that is a weight that is necessarily a sin – There are things that may simply be slowing you down.

There are some relationships or habits that you need to ask yourself, “Is this helping me to run?Is this slowing you down?”

There are things you must drop because you have somewhere you are going.

You cannot hold everything and run effectively.

What are the weights you need to lay aside?

• Is it Pride?
• Is it Anger?
• Is it unforgiveness?
• Is it a wrong Relationships?
• Is it fear?
• Is it Laziness?
• Is it excessive Entertainment?

I so much love 1 Corinthians 6:12, especially the New Living Translation – It says, I am allowed to do anything —but not everything is good for you. And even though ‘I am allowed to do anything,’ I must not become a slave to anything.

The King James Version says, All things are Lawful, but not all things are expedient.

Even though there are some things that given among the Ten (10) Commandments; we have Scriptural references.

And we need to lay aside every sin. “Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with Patience
the race that is set before us.”

Sin is not something we should negotiate with:

• We must deal with it.
• We must repent.
• We must receive Grace to overcome it.

We can not deliberately hold on to sin and expect to run freely.

The Bible says in Hebrews 12:14 says, Follow Peace with all men, and Holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Holiness matters.

We must love Righteousness and hate iniquity (DMC NOTES: Hebrews 1:9)

Especially my Generation, the Youth; we have come to hate Righteousness and love iniquity.

You hear things like, “Ah, I am not doing it, but I can talk about it. And I can be looking at it.”

I Pray God will have Mercy upon us, in Jesus’ Name – Amen.

Colossians 3:1-2 says, If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the Earth.

You cannot be Preparing for Heaven while you are deliberately living against the King of Heaven – You are a Citizen of Heaven, you have to imbibe it.

He says, “Be Holy even as your Father in Heaven is holy.” (DMC NOTES: 1 Peter 1:5-6)

You can’t reach Heaven and be like a Stranger – You need to inhabit the attitude of Holiness.

… That is the first Mission to accomplish – The first Vision of this great Mission (RCCG).

6. We must Watch and Stay Awake.

Wake up to Purpose.

Ephesians 5:14 says, “Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee Light.”

You can be sitting in Church and still be Spiritually asleep.

You can hear Sermons every week and still become Careless.

Wake up to Eternity.

Wake up to your Calling.

Don’t let familiarity make you Careless:

• Know why you are here.
• Know what God has called you to do.
• And walk in His Will.

The Bible says in Proverbs 16:7, When a man’s ways Please the LORD, he maketh even his Enemies to be at Peace with him.

I always say it, “As far as I am in the Will of God for my Life, I cannot fail again.

No matter how many WAEC and GCE I have failed, now that I’ve realized it, now that I know, as far as I am in the Will of God, I cannot fail again.

And I want you to understand this, the devil is not that Powerful, our slumbering state has made the devil Powerful.

The devil is not that Powerful, our Prayerless; our Purposelessness has made the devil Powerful.

7. You must remember that you carry God’s Presence.

Carrying God’s Presence means that you must be a Worshipper.

One thing I notice about Heaven is that they worship.

Remember that you carry God’s Presence.

1 Corinthians 3:16 says, Know ye not that ye are the Temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

We carry His Presence; we are His Temple – Amen!

8. Don’t lose the Goal.

We are talking about how to make Heaven; and how to run to run the race.

Matthew 6:33 says, But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his Righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

The Goal must remain the Kingdom. Don’t allow Earthly Success to become more important than Eternity.

What if you become everything you want to become, but you don’t become what God wants you to be?

Mark 8:36 says, For what shall it Profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own Soul?

• We can Pursue our Assignments.
• We can Pursue our work.

But Heaven must remain the Goal!

Tell Somebody beside you, “Don’t lose the Goal.”

In conclusion, I will share my Salvation Testimony.

I started attending the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) – Love Assembly, Lagos Province 1 Headquarters, because I liked a girl in my Street and the girl was attending the Parish.

So, I was determined to attend the Church because I liked the girls so much, and I was determined to date her because I was someone that liked girls so much.

I went to the Church in the 2018 – I was happy, I was dancing. They pushed me in the Teens’ Class.

Fast forward to one year later, I became the President of the Teens Church, and the girl became the Vice President.

There was a rule that said Executives cannot date another Executive – I was pained, “This girl that I came for, I cannot date her.”

So I made plans to wait and exercised Patient.

I believed they will say that after two (2) years of new Executives would take over.

While doing the Assignment I told her, “don’t forget.”

In the course of doing the assignment, the girl also fell for me.

I became President in 2019, and there was Coronavirus in 2020, so a lot happened.

Because our tenure was sweet, they said we must go for another tenure of two (2) years.

We started the second tenure, few months before the end of the second tenure, the girl called me and said, “Emmanuel, I loved you, and I had feelings for you but I have started having feelings for another Person.”

I said, Ye! Mo gbe (DMC NOTES: I am downfall).”

A few Months to handover, the Position of the President, she said he loved another Person.

I started begging her.

She said, “I can’t be dating you while I have feelings for another Person.” It pained me!

We later became best friends, and she has even left our Church.

But right here, I’m Standing even by the Grace of God.

I am sharing this Story so you’ll know that we are saved by Grace, and we can’t waste it.

Sacrifices have been made.

Grace has been made sufficient.

We can’t run it carelessly and waste the Grace of God.

The Bible says in Romans 6:1-2, What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that Grace may abound? God forbid.

How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Can we be on our feet?

I came to know that I was saved, not by my own works or Prayer.

I can never remember Praying to God to save me. But the Grace of God orchestrated me to go to that Church, falling for that girl and having feelings for her.

Now I am here by the Grace of God.

And every one of us are saved by Grace.

The Bible says the Grace of God is the Gift of God. (DMC NOTES: Ephesians 2:8-9)

For every one of us, there is a Prophecy over us. There is a Goal, and the Goal is Heaven.

I love this Song. It says:

There is a Prophecy over me
I can not fail this One
I can not fail my God

PRAYER

Can we cry unto God and say: Father; I must make Heaven whether the devil likes it or not.

Heaven is the Goal Oh, Lord.

No matter what the accomplishment may be, I must make Heaven.

In the Name of Jesus!

CLOSING PRAYER

Father, when Your son, Pastor Johnson Funsho Odesola was Praying for me he said, “You shall declare with Power.”

And the Bible says, Where the word of a King is, there is Power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou? (DMC NOTES: Ecclesiastes 8:4)

Father, I declare over Your Children;

I stand upon the Covenant on this Altar, and I release Grace upon Your Children, in the Name of Jesus.

They shall finish well, in the Name of Jesus.

And we shall make Heaven, in the Name of Jesus.

For in Jesus Mighty Name we Pray – Amen.

Praise the Lord – Halleluyah!!!
