OPENING PRAYER
Glorious God, Wonderful Father, the Almighty God Himself; we worshipped You.
We Thank You for everything that You have done for us thus far; we Thank You for these Seasons of celebrations of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Thank You because without You; we won’t have seen this Christmas – Thank You Lord God Almighty; Please accept our Thanks in Jesus Name.
Even as we are moving forward towards the New Year; we Pray that You will take us Higher so that in the Coming Year; we will Fly High.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.
Praise the Lord – Hallelujah!
We will continue with our Series: Going Higher and today, we are discussing Part 3.
Our Bible Text as you know is: 1 Kings 17:1
“And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I Stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these Years but according to my word”.
In the First (1st) Part of the Series; we learnt that: If you are looking for someone whose Life is an example of “Going Higher and Higher”; then a Good example will be Elijah.

In the Second (2nd) Part; which we dealth with Last Sunday (20th of December, 2020); we learnt the Fundamental Things you need to know if your Life is to keep Going Higher and Higher – And that is that: “God Lives!”

Today, we want to move on and it is still based on the Statement of Elijah who said that: “As the Lord God of Israel lives before whom I Stand.
We want to learn some Lessons from this because we discovered from the Scriptures that for you to know that God Lives is not enough make you go Higher Still.
Because according to James 2:19; the Bible says: Even demons believes that he trembles.
So, you believed that there is “One God” who is Alive – Oh, well done but even demons believes that.
… And demons are not Going to go Higher still!
So, we learnt from Elijah that not only must you know that God Lives; you must know how to Stand before Him – He said before whom I Stand
Before he made that Pronouncement; he Introduced himself and says: Oh, I’m coming from the Presence of the Lord Jehovah – I Stand before the God who Lives!
In this Story, there are two (2) Kings:
- One is King Ahab who represents the Natural.
- And one is Jehovah who represents the Supernatural.
There is “King Ahab” who represents everything Physical and Material and then there is “Jehovah El-Shaddai” who represents everything Spiritual.
And when we are talking of you “Going Higher”; there is a Link between the Physical and the Spiritual!
Because in 3 John 1:2; the Bible says: I wish above all things that you Prosper and be in Health even as your Soul Prospers.
Your “Going Higher” Physically and Materially; your being Healthy, being Wealthy has a Link with your growing Spiritually – The two (2) must go together.
- Let us look at the First (1st) King – King Ahab.
He was a Powerful Man – I mean that the Bible says in Ecclesiastes 8:4.
The Bible says: Where the word of the King is; there is Power.
As a matter of fact; the Bible says: If the King is a “Good King”; you call him a “Minister of God”.
Romans 13: 3-4 says that the King is a “Minister of God” that bears a Sword and that you should fear him because he is not just bearing the Sword in vain.
… That means: He is empowered to use that sword if you do wrong!
I mean that we have seen the Powers of those in Authority this Year like never before – When they say they “Lock you down”; you are locked down.
If you move when you shouldn’t move – Even when they declared curfew at 4pm, you must go and stay in your home by that 4pm.
… That is Authority!
God gave them that much Power!
- But then, there is a Second (2nd) King in this Story – The One who is called: “The Most High”.
Psalms 91:1 calls Him: “The Most High” and calls Him: “The Almighty”.
Ecclesiastes 5:8 calls Him: “The One who is Higher than the highest”.
Isaiah 66:1 says: “Heaven is His Throne; the Earth is His Footstool”.
Meaning: It doesn’t matter how high the King of the Earth may be; He is still under the feet of the Almighty God because the whole Earth is His Footstool.
And according to Revelations 19:16; the Bible calls Him: “The King of Kings”.
That is: If you gather all the Kings together and then they want to appoint a King over them and then the One that is the Second (2nd) King in this Story is the One who will be the King of Kings.
As a matter of fact; He needs “No Appointments” – He is King by Himself alone.
And then Daniel 4: 24-25 says that this Second (2nd) King rules in the affairs of Men.
… He is the “Real Ruler”; He is the “Original Majesty”.
And according to Daniel 4: 34-35; a Greater King says this concerning the King of Kings – He says: His Own Dominion is forever; His Kingdom is from Everlasting to Everlasting.
He was on the Throne before the Earth was formed; He will still be on the Throne when the Earth shall be no more!
And according to Proverbs 21:1; He is the One who controls the hearts of Kings like “Rivers of Water”.
Now, the reason why I have explained this is because Elijah Stand before the First (1st) King as a Representative of the Other King.

… As the Lord God of Israel liveth before whom I Stand!
He was introducing himself to King Ahab – I have come to represent “The Most High”.
… So, there is a Link between you and Elijah.
2 Corinthians 5: 20 says: We are Christ’s Ambassadors.
We are Representatives of Christ Himself!
When we speak according to 1 Peter 4:11; we speak as: “The Oracle of God”.
We are His Representatives – We are speaking on His behalf and as His Ambassador, we have His backings.
This is important – It is important to your future to know that you are an Ambassador of The Almighty God and that you have His backings.
In John 20:21, Jesus Christ said to His Disciples and to you and I – As the Father sent me, so sent I, you.
And the Bible tells us in Acts 10:38 that the reason Jesus Christ was able to do all the Great Things that He did was because God was with Him!
Because when we talk of someone whose lives is “Going Higher and Higher”; if we are not talking of Elijah; we will be talking about the Lord Jesus Christ.
- We know that even at His Birth; the Heavenly Choir came and sang – The Mass Choir from Heaven came.
- We know that at the age of twelve (12); He was already confounding Professors.
- We know that during His Adulthood; He went to everywhere doing Good – Healing those who were oppressed of the devil et cetera et cetera.
… He just kept on “Going Higher and Higher”
And I’m Praying that everyone of you – Representatives of “The Most High” inclusive those of you reading now on the Label of DMC: You too will be “Going Higher, Higher and Higher” – Amen.
Because you need to know why this one is so Important – It is because there is a Promise in Matthew 18:18 made to every Ambassadors of Jesus Christ: Whatever you bind on Earth will be bound in Heaven and whatever you loose on Earth will be loose in Heaven.
… That is the way the Ambassadors operates.
What the Ambassador of a Nation says in whatever Countries he is; is whatever his Government has said – Whatever he allows is allowed; whatever he forbids is forbidden.
That is why a Fugitive can run into the Embassy of a Nation and the Nation will know that this Fugitive is in that house but they dare not go there to arrest that fellow – He is in the Embassy of another Nation.
This is going to affect you in the Future as we go deeper into this Series because a time is coming when you will have to make some decrees – Where you have to forbids and things will be forbidden; allows and things will be allowed so that you can move on.
And you will be doing certain things in the Future that you are not doing now; which you must do Fearlessly!
Remember that Elijah was a Man of “No Significant Background”. He is now standing before a King who has tremendous Powers and he is about to issue some decrees.
Remember in 1 Kings 13: 1-6; God sent a very Young Man, Young Prophet to a King – To go and tell the King that what you are doing is wrong and I won’t take it.
And the King stretch forth his hands to grab the Prophet and the Bible says that his hands withered.
They had to beg the Prophet and say Please, Please, Please Ambassador of “The Most High” – Please entreat your King for me so that my hands can be restored.
… And it was restored!
The Almighty God in moving you Higher and Higher is going to confirm what He has said that: You will lay hands on the sick and they would recover; you will deal with demons and they will respond – Marks 16: 17-18.
Acts 19: 11-17, the Bible tells us how God Performed “Special Miracles” by the hands of Paul and then some People tried to copy him and told the demons to get out of a Man.
The Bible says the demons said: Jesus we know; Paul we know also. We know the Second (2nd) King and we know His Ambassadors.
You need to keep this at the back of your mind because you will need it in the Future.
In the meantime, what I want to talk about is: We find Elijah standing before the First (1st) King; coming from standing before the Second (2nd) King – What do I do to be able to stand before Earthly Kings? That is the first thing we want to Check.
Now, when we are talking about Kings now; we are talking about: Head of States; talking about Presidents, Prime Ministers et cetera et cetera.
What do I do that I can get to that level in Life where I can anytime be in the Presence of an Earthly King?
- Proverbs 22:29 says: Seeth thou a Man diligent in his business; he will stand before Kings and not before “Mean Men”.
If you are going to go Higher and Higher; you must be Diligent – Take note of that.
Laziness must get out of your diary; Slothfulness must get out of your Lifestyle!
Why? – Proverbs 12:24 says: The Diligent Hand shall bear Rule but the Slotful shall be under Tribute.
You cannot go Higher if you stay lazy!
Proverbs 23:21 says: Drowsiness shall cover a Man with rags.
It is not enough for you to confess that you are Going Higher; that you are going to be Great; you are going to Prosper.
Yes it is Good to say so but you must back it up with Diligent and Hard Work.
I have shared it with you before several years ago in the 1970’s – A Group of us who learnt about Faith and we learnt that confessing your Faith is very important and that it is one of the ways of releasing your Faith.
And so we kept on confessing our Faith – We shall be the Head and not the Tail; we shall lend to Nations and we will never borrow et cetera et cetera.
So, we will wake up in the morning and make some very Positive Confessions.
But then I have to tell some of my People, some of my colleagues that you wake up in the morning and you continue to say: I have a car, I have a car and then instead of getting up to work; you are still in your room by 10.00am confessing that I have a car.
Three (3) Years later; you will still be trekking and it won’t be the fault of the Almighty God.
… He who will not work should not eat!
- How do I get to the Presence of the Earthly King? How do I get to that level that I can enter into the office of any Head of State anytime that I want?
It can come by Divine Promotion
Psalms 75: 6-7 says: Promotion comes from God.
1 Samuel 2: 7-8 tells us that: God can Promote anyone to that level. He can Pick up a beggar from the dunghill and Promote him so highly that you will be dwelling in the Presence of Kings.
But Hebrews 11:6 made it clear: God only rewards the Diligent; God only rewards those who diligently seek Him.
I have told you a funny before – There was going to be a Program; I think it was the Installation of a Head of State and a friend of mine dash into the room where I was in a Hotel in Abuja and showed me his Invitation Card.
I have been invited! – I said congratulations.
He said look at my Card and there is even a “Letter A” stamped at the corner of it.
I said it means that you are Great because there will be those with “Letter B”; those with “Letter C”; those with “Letter D” – He said: Oh Yes!
But as he was talking; there was still another friend of mine who was sitting by my side and he Pulled out his Invitation Card and it was “Letter AA”.
And suddenly my friend who just came in felt sad.
And I tried to explain to him: When there is the time for Entertainment; there is a level where the one with “Letter A” can reach; only the one with “Letter AA” can go beyond that.
But I told the one with “Letter AA” on his own that there are those who has cards with “Letter AAA” – They will still go further still.
So, together they turned to me and say: Sir, where is your own Invitation Card?
They wanted to see whether it is “Letter A” or “Letter AA” or “Letter AAA”.
I smiled and said: I don’t need an Invitation Card – All I need to do is just to “Show Up”.
And there are some of us who can go in without an Invitation Card!
I Pray for everyone of you listening to me now or reading on the Label of DMC: When the Almighty God keeps on Promoting you; you will get to a Stage where all you need to do is just to “Show your face” and the doors to the Highest Office will open to you – Amen.
So, to appear before the First (1st) King; you need Diligence and Divine Promotion.
But then how do you appear before the Second (2nd) King? What must we do?
The Qualifications here are more Stringent – Psalms 24: 3-6 says: You want to be in the Presence of The Most High?
- You must have Clean Hands.
2 Corinthians 6:13, the Almighty God said: Touch not the Unclean Thing and I will receive you
Be careful what you touch with your hands.
I have always told my children: Be careful what you Sign! – If a Report is faulty, don’t append your signature.
… Touch not the “Unclean Thing” – Don’t steal, don’t manipulate Reports. Watch what your hands touches.
- If you want to Stand before the King of Kings; your hearts must be Pure.
… He said: Clean Hands, Pure Heart…
Matthew 5:8 – Blessed are the Pure in Heart, for they shall see God.
Be careful what is going on in your heart; be careful what you are thinking; be careful what you are Meditating Upon – If you are to go Higher!
- He said: Your Heart must not be lifted up to Vanity.
Colossians 3: 1-3 says: If you are risen with Christ focus on things above; not on things beneath.
You want to go Higher? – What is your Motives?
You want to Prosper? – What is your Motives?
As we learnt during The RCCG Holy Ghost Congress 2020 – On the Friday of the Holy Ghost Congress; the reason why you want to Prosper is so that you can be a Blessing.
… You want to go Higher so that you can be Blessing!

- No Deceits.
Revelations 22:15 made it Abundantly clear: Without are liars and those who love lies.
You want to go Higher; you must be able to say: Oh, I Stand before the King of Kings.
To be able to get to His Presence: Cleans Hands, Pure Heart, Hearts not lifted to Vanity and No Deceits.
And then how do I Stand before Him?
To Stand actually means here: To appear, to wait upon Him.
You know that you go to a Good Hotel; you sit down and there are People there; they call Waiters. And one of the Waiters will come and “Wait On you”.
He will be standing, you are sitting and he will be supplying you everything that you want.
You travel in an Airplane most of the time; the Waitress will be standing – Going up and down, supplying all you need, giving you food, giving you water and in the middle of the night when other Person is sleeping; you Press your bell; the Waiter will come – He is standing and attending to you.
Isaiah 40:31 tells us that: You wait upon the Lord, He will renew your Strength; He is going to give you wings to Fly like an Eagle, to move you Higher and Higher and Higher.
That is why Paul said in Ephesians 6:13 – Having done all …
You have done everything you know how to do before God – You are serving Him, you are winning Souls, you are following up with the Souls, you are Paying your Tithes, you are giving your Offerings, you are Honouring Him with your First Fruits.
… You do all that you know how to do!
The Bible says: Having done all – STAND!
Let me Conclude this Part by reminding you that the Journey of thousand Kilometers begins with a First (1st) Step.
The First (1st) Step to “Going Higher” is arising from your Present Position – Stand Up!
You want to travel; you get up from where you are.
In Luke 15: 11-24; the Bible tells you the Story of the Prodigal Son.
He was at the “Lowest Ebb” of his Life when he was feeding Pigs and he was so hungry that he wanted to eat with the Pigs and they won’t even allow him to eat.
So, he made up his mind: I’m Going Higher; I will go back to my father – I will arise and go home.
He was in filthy rags – He says: No, No, No; I’m not going to stay here, I’m not going to die like this and things must improve.
… And the Bible says: He arose!
And by the time he got home; things got better and better – They removed the rags, they wash him, gave him New Robes and Put rings on his hands, shoes on his feet and he became an “Object of Celebrations”.
No matter how Low you are now; you can get to Heights whereby you will be celebrated – Amen.
But you have to take the First (1st) Step and that is to Stand.
ALTAR CALL
Which is why those of you who has not really received the Lord Jesus Christ must take the First (1st) Step today.
You know that there is an Invitation He gave Years ago in Matthew 11: 28-30 – When He says: Come to Me all ye that Labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.
Come! – If you have to come; you have to Stand Up and move towards Him.
And from the Miry Clay of sin; He can Pull you out, put your feet on “Solid Ground” and then your Journey to Greater Heights can begin.
… So, the Choice is yours!
So, if you are listening to me now or reading now on the Label of DMC; and you want to really give your Life to Jesus Christ; it might be a Good Idea in your homes where you are now to Stand Up as a Sign to Jesus Christ that you really mean business and that you want to surrender your Life to Him.
So, do so now: Call on Him, tell Him Lord you can see me – I’m standing up for you now; I’m surrendering my Life to You now – Please receive me and forgive all my sins and I will serve you for the rest of my Life.
And I will Pray with you in a moment – Just call on Him; tell Him that I have decided to follow You everywhere You go Lord Jesus Christ. Whichever Way You direct me; that is the Way I will go.
Call on Him now and He will save your Souls even as I join my Faith with yours in Prayers.
PRAYER FOR SALVATION AND CLOSING PRAYER
So Father; I just want to Thank You once again: Thank You for Your Words, Thank You for all those who has heard and are surrendering their lives to You now.
Father; Please receive them; have Mercy on them, save their Souls, wash them Lord with Your Blood, write their names in the Book of Life.
And Lord from now; let there be No Looking back for them.
Please Lord God Almighty; all Your children who are already children of The Most High God; the Solid determination that from now on; Lord God Almighty, they are going to grow Higher and Higher in the Spirit; that they are going to Stand before You the Holy One of Israel with Clean Hands, with Pure Hearts, Without Vanity and Without lies – Give them that Grace today.
Father, I’m Praying that very soon; they too will be able to tell anyone: I Stand before the Almighty God.
And I Pray that very soon; they will be Standing even before the Kings of the Earth to declare Your Message(s).
Let it be well with them Lord.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.
