TOPIC: TEENAGERS TOO CAN FLY

BIBLE TEXT: Daniel 1:1-20
Wherever you are in the world, I want you to raise up your hands to Jesus and say: Father I thank You, I give You all the Glory, all the Honour, all the Adorations.
You alone is God, You alone is worthy to be Praised.
Call Him beautiful names – Say: You are wonderful, You are lovely, You are Good to me all the time.
Common let’s us worship Him, worship Him, worship Him.
Wherever Region of the world you are in, worship This Jesus. Give Him all the Glory. You have seen me through January up to the last Month of the Year 2020. Only God could have made it Possible.
Continue to worship Him – Take all the Glory, all the Honour, all Adoration.
For your family; common on worship Him. He deserves all the Praise, He deserves all the Honour and He deserves all the Glory. For bringing us down to this Month, for making us Witness of another Congress.
Lord only You could have done this – Glory be to Your Name.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.
OPENING PRAYER
In Jesus Name, in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
Everlasting King of Glory, we thank You Lord for bringing us to another Congress. Only You could have done this Lord; Thank You.
Lord we commit this Section into Your Hands, let us here after this section be Blessed in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
Thank Father because we know You have answered.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen

I want to say a big thank You to our Parents – Pastor and Pastor (Mrs) Adeboye
I also want to thank the Directorate of Teens and Children for this Privilege given to me to share the Word of God with you today.
The Theme for this Congress is: It’s time to Fly
But I will talking to you today about: Teenagers too can Fly.
It’s a lenghty Bible Passage I will read from verse 1-4 and subsequently I will read other verses as the Sermon goes on.
I will be reading from Amplified Version –
Daniel 1:1-4 (AMP)
- In the third Year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar King of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it.
- And the Lord gave Jehoiakim King of Judah into his hand, along with a Part of the vessels of the house of God; and he carried them into the land of Shinar [Babylonia] to the house of his god and placed the vessels in the treasury of his god
- And the [Babylonian] king told Ashpenaz, the Master of his eunuchs, to bring in some of the children of Israel, both of the royal family and of the nobility.
- Youths without blemish, well-favored in appearance and skillful in all wisdom, discernment, and understanding, apt in learning knowledge, competent to stand and serve in the king’s palace–and to teach them the literature and language of the Chaldeans.
Now I will start by letting you know Teenagers that are out there – It’s expected for all Believers to fly but not all will fly.
Let me say this: If you read the Bible Text I just gave you that’s Daniel 1:1-4
You see that Nebuchadnezzar besieged Judah and the Bible tells me in 2 Kings 24:15-16 that Nebuchadnezzar left with seven thousand (7000) men.
So, Teenagers I want you to be very imaginative – Imagine Nebuchadnezzar leaving Judah with seven thousand (7000) men and bringing them to Babylon.

On getting to Babylon, there was distinction – Immediately which we see in Daniel 1:3-4.
Babylonian which is Nebuchadnezzar said: Bring me men from the house of Israel, from the Royal family and the Nobles. Bring me men that are Young without blemish, that are handsome in appearance, skillful in wisdom, that are endow with intelligence and discernment, competent to stand in the Presence of the King and serve the King.
Those People that do not meet that criteria were cut off – It was like bringing seven thousand (7,000) People and say for those that don’t meet the Standard to stand with the King and throw them out.
So, at a Point, on getting to Babylon, at one point there was distinction between those who has Potentials to Fly and those who will not.
God is telling us today, that there are certain Standards you have to meet before you can Fly – If you don’t meet those Standards you won’t Fly.
God says in Ezekiel 22:30; when he was talking to Ezekiel that I search for a man who will stand in the gap and found none.
In Jeremiah 5:1; God told Jeremiah roam about the Street of Jerusalem and seek about Abraham’s Spot in Sodom – If you can find a man with Integrity.
So, if God come and say: I want a man with so, so, so Standard; Teenagers out there do you think God will find you worthy?
If God is looking for a man that wait, if God is looking for a man of integrity; will God find you?
If God is looking for a man of Courage – The Bible says in Proverbs 27:5-6: If God is looking for a man that will see evil and shun evil, will God find you? If God is looking for a man that will speak up against evil vices in their Community, speaking up against evil vices in the 6nation; will God find you?
If God is looking for a man that will Sorosoke (Speak Out Loud); will God find you?
That is the question God is asking you right now.
If you want to Fly, you must meet the Standard of God and God has explained it through the Bible Verse in Daniel 1:1-4 – That if you don’t meet this Standard, you will be the Presented of those who will be as slaves all their lives, who didn’t serve in the Presence of the king.
Mind you; I have mentioned earlier that seven thousand (7000) People were brought from Israel to Babylon and only four (4) – Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach Abednego that served in the King’s Court.
So, meaning that out of seven thousand (7000) just 0.05% met the Standard.
I Pray that you will meet the Standard of Jesus in the Mighty Name of Jesus – Amen.
Now not just enough for you to meet God’s Standard – If you look at Daniel 1:1-5, from Verse 5, it says: The King set a daily ranction for him from his finest food and the wine which he drank.
They were to be educated and nourished for three (3) Years, so that at the end of the time; they would have been Prepared for the King’s Service.
Now, it is not just enough to meet God’s Standard, after meeting God’s Standard; you come to the next step, what’s next step – Next step of Training, the step of Education.
God wants men that are humble enough to learn, God loves men that are humble enough to learn.
It is not just enough having qualities alone, God wants men that are broken, that will be willing to learn, willing to bring themselves down and low for God to bring you up.
I will give an example of a Catapult – You know the farther you draw a Catapult down, the farther it launches.
So, God is looking for a man that is ready to learn, that is learnable, teachable.
Teenagers out there are you teachable?
The Bible says in Psalms 25:9 – If you are not humble, God will not teach you His ways.
In Proverbs 14:12, meaning that if you are doing things on your own, the end is destruction.
You have to learn and God is looking for men that He can teach, men that are teachable.
So, Teenagers out there – Are you humble enough? Are you humble enough to learn? Are you teachable?
It’s not just enough to meet the Standard of God but God wants to take you higher. And for God to take you higher, God wants you to learn – Halleluyah!
I Pray that God will find in us the Spirit to be teachable and the Spirit to be humble in the Mighty Name of Jesus – Amen.
In Daniel 1:8-12, you see that the Bible says: Daniel made up his mind that he will not defile himself with the King’s finest meat or with the wine which he drank.
So he asked the Commander-In-Chief that he might be excused; so that he would not defile himself.
Now God granted Daniel favour in his sight.
Now, I have made two (2) Points now:
- The First one you have to meet God’s Standard.
- The Second one is that you have to be teachable, you have to be able to learn.
- And now the third Part is that you have to face Challenges.
… Now these are not just challenges.
Daniel has been set out for King’s Youths, he had been teachable, he had been able to be taught and now the kind of challenge that come – Melzar, the officials of Nebuchadnezzar said: I’m going to give you the King’s meat.
Daniel said: ‘I can’t eat the King’s meat because he doesn’t want to defile himself.
But he said something that is really important here – He said: If I don’t give you the King’s food, the King will have my head.
Meaning that the King was going to kill him if the children look haggard.
Now imagine someone whose life is on the line, trying to impose his own wishes on you to make you defile yourself. But Daniel stood up and said: “I will not defile myself”.
Now Teenagers out there, if you are faced with challenges, will you be able to be like Daniel and say No I won’t defile myself? Will you be able to face your challenges without compromising? Will you be able to face your challenges without double-thinking? Without saying Ha, God I can’t do this anymore?
Because if you want to Fly, you have to be tested.
It is not just enough to be separated for God’s use; it is not just enough for you to be teachable – You have to go through challenges knowing that God will be by your side.
Now, Daniel and his mates which are Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, they didn’t know how God will see them through but they knew that they could never defile God. They didn’t know whether or not they will look haggard in ten (10) days or will look healthy in ten (10) days but they decided to trust the Lord.
- Which now take us to the forth Point which is: Waiting and Trusting on the Lord.
Daniel told the Official – He said: Test us for ten (10) days, test us for ten (10) days, for ten (10) days – They didn’t eat of the king’s meat, they fasted, they denied themselves the Pleasure of the King’s meat by eating vegetables and other foods that described so.
And for the ten (10) days they waited on the Lord, they didn’t know how the ten (10) days was going to be, they didn’t how God was going to do it but they waited on the Lord.
The Bible says in Psalms 37:34 – Now when you wait on the Lord, the Lord will exalt you. The Lord will lift you high and watch you seeing the wicked being cut off.
This was the Testimony of Daniel and the remaining Hebrew Boys – This was their Testimony because they waited on the Lord, God exalted them.
God exalted them now and we can see the results of Daniel and his mates waiting on the Lord.
In Daniel 1:19-20
God made them ten (10) times better than their mates.
Now, let me take you back, out of seven thousand People (7000), four (4) were Picked to serve with the King.
Now among those four (4); they had their other mates that were with them, that were serving the King, that were learning like Daniel was learning, that were waiting on the Lord like Daniel was waiting on the Lord – Out of all these People, Nebuchadnezzar found just four (4) of them better than all their mates, all their mates.
Meaning that out of those that were set to be Excellent, out of those that were Separated for Excellence; God made Daniel and other Hebrew Boys Outstanding.
I know many of us want to be Outstanding today; I know many of us want to Stand Out from our Contemporaries. But I want you to know that you cannot do this without first identifying with who you are – With God!
I want to let know that a Chicken can never Fly, a Chicken can never Fly.
If you are an Eagle mingling around Chicken you will never Fly.
You have to have your Identity and know that God will see you through this Process.
Now Teenagers out there; you can Fly – I say again you can Fly and you will Fly.
But not everybody is going to Fly if you don’t stay with God all through the way.
If you don’t stay with God all through the way, you won’t Fly.
ALTAR CALL
Now, wherever you are I just want you to raise up your hands and say:
Father I want to Fly. Father help me, Father help me. Father I can’t do this on my own, Father I can’t do this on my own. Father set me out for Your use.
Father humble me.
Father make me teachable. Father while I’m waiting on You, don’t let see any excuse not to wait on You anymore, don’t let see any excuse to back down.
God give the Grace to go with You 24/7 in the Name of Jesus.
And at the end let the results of my Testimony make other People Fly along with me in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
Just like how Daniel helped the other Hebrew three (3) Boys to Fly and soar high –
God make me to make other People Fly also in the Name of Jesus.
And I Pray that God will help us in the Mighty Name of Jesus – Amen.
Let Us Pray!
CLOSING PRAYER
Father in Jesus Name, in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
Father I Thank You for Your Words that has come out expressly today and I Pray that it will begin to work in actualization of these Words in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
Father, Teenagers out there you will Fly in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
As Teenagers, we will Fly in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
And all Glory shall be given unto Your Name in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
Thank You Heavenly Father.
For I know You have answered all our Prayers.
For in Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.
Now I want you to shout a Big Hallelujah if you know you are going to Fly in the Name of Jesus – HALLELUJAH!!!
