OPENING PRAYER
We give You all the Glory, all Honour, all Adoration for everything that You have done for us in the Past. Thank You for what You will do for us in Future and Thank You for what You will do this “Very Day” – Please, accept our Worship in Jesus Name.
Father, whatever Prayer we Pray today; kindly answer us by Fire.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.
Praise the Lord – Hallelujah!
Well, wave to two (2) or three (3) People and say: Good Day, God Bless You – Amen!
Then we may Please be seated!
As we continue with our Series: “GOING HIGHER – PART 31”.
We will read: 1 Kings 18: 37-39.
If you want to give a Sub Title, you could say: “THE FIRE FELL”.
Elijah had been Praying to God and he said:
1 Kings 18: 37-39
- Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this People may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
38 Then the Fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt Sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
39 And when all the People saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, He is the God; the LORD, He is the God.
Because of out time that is always a bit limited, we will just go straight to the fact that: “The Fire fell”.
We have already discussed the Prayer of Elijah – We have learnt from the way he Prayed that if you want a Prayer that will be answered by Fire; we will start by Worshipping God and by boldly calling on Him to manifest His Glory!
… And they said that when Elijah finished Praying; the Fire of the Lord fell!
And it is my Prayer that: Today (or as you read on the Label of DMC); whatever Prayer that you Pray, God will answer by Fire – Amen!
But the interesting thing that we want to look at is what happened when the Fire fell?
- The Fire consumed the “Burnt Sacrifice”.
It means that the Fire consumed the Offerings that was on the Altar!
Not all Offerings are Acceptable to God!
Genesis 4: 3-5 tells us that two (2) People brought Offerings to God – Cain and Abel. God accepted one and He rejected the other.
My Prayer for you today is that: God will not reject your Offerings – Amen!
Which is why I need to tell you that: Whenever you feel unhappy when they are about to take an Offering to God; Please don’t give because the Word of God says Clearly: God loves a “Cheerful Giver”.
If you are not excited about the Offering; if you are not really, really happy to give; then don’t waste your money – At least, you can spend it to eat!
Because if you give Grudgingly; it is not going to be Acceptable to God – God is not a beggar, don’t ever forget that
Silver belongs to Him, Gold belongs to Him – If He takes anything from you at all; it is an Honour to you and a Privilege!
In 2 Chronicles 7: 1-3 – When God accepted the Offering of Solomon, He sent down Fire.
That is why those who really knows how to Pray; when they are Presenting their Offerings to God, they will say: Please, send down Your Fire and take this Offering to Yourself.
When the Fire falls and it consumes the Offering; it is a Sign that the Offering has been Accepted.
I have told you before the Story of a Man years ago when the Church was very small and the Public Address (PA) System that we had was so old – Many atimes, we had the slap the Amplifier before it could work.
And a Man came in and bought for us State-Of-The-Art Public Address (PA) System – Beautiful Things, Brand New!
And he came in, in a “Flowing Gown” (Called Agbada in Yoruba Culture); Presented the Offering with a Flourish – And we heard the Voice of God, Loud and Clear: Tell him to take away his Gift as I don’t want it.
Now, if you don’t know the Voice of God and you hear that as a Pastor, you will say: Get thee behind me Satan!
… But this is not Satan here talking!
Very, very reluctantly, we told him: Sorry sir, God says take away your Gift as He doesn’t want it.
He said: What do you say? – We repeated it!
The Man went to one of the Pillars in the Church and began to bang his head against the Pillar – Sobbing hysterically.
I have not seen that kind sorrow before and I Pray that I won’t see it again – Amen.
He said: God refused my Offering? – It means that God has refused me!
… When God accepts your Offerings, it is a Privilege!
So, if you want to give Offering to God Grudgingly; Please don’t give it at all!
If anybody tells you that without your Help, God cannot do His work; that Fellow is deceiving you!
That is what I told some Brethrens Years ago – When the Church was beginning to grow and there were some “Fairly Wealthy People”.
Fairly because among blind People, the one-eyed Man is King – And then they were becoming arrogant.
And I had to tell them in Plain Language – Thank God for your coming. But as rich as you may be; you are not the one who bought the chairs that you are sitting on – These chairs has been there before you joined the Church.
God has been doing His works before you came – If you leave, His works will continue.
… Let that sink in! – If He rejects your Offerings, He rejects you.
My Prayer is that God will never reject you – Amen!
- And then the Fire consumed the wood – That is a very important Point.
Every wood has a Potential of becoming Fire – That is why every wood is called a Firewood. There is Fire inside every wood!
… Any kind of wood, Fire is inside.
But that Potential will not be activated unless it comes in contact with Fire!
… Fire must come from outside on the wood.for the wood to change to Firewood to become Fire.
In Luke 5: 1-11; Jesus Christ told Peter – You will become a Fisher of Men.
But for three and half Years; Peter did not catch a Single Man, he didn’t catch a Single Soul until the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2: 1-4 when the Holy Spirit fell and the Fire alighted on the head of Peter – His Potential was activated!
That Day, he Preached a Single Sermon and won three thousand (3,000) Souls.
My Prayer for everyone of you today (or as you read on the Label of DMC) is that: That Potential in you – That Potential for Greatness, that Potential to Perform Miracles, Signs and Wonders for God will be activated as the Fire of God descends on you today in Jesus Name – Amen!
- And then the Fire did not stop with the wood; the Bible says that the Fire consumes the Stones.
What kind of Fire is this?
I. Consume the Offerings? – That is easy to understand.
II. Consume the wood? – That is easy to understand.
Stones? – Even if a house burns down; that which will remains will be the Stones.
… But in this case, the Fire consumes the Stone!
What is this one telling us?
The Stone is Symbolic of Hardship, of Failure, of Poverty.
When Somebody comes from a very Poor background in Africa; we will say that he has a “Rocky Start” (In Yoruba, we call it Atapata dide).
You remembered the Story Jesus Christ told in Matthew 13: 1-6 – He said that a Sower went to sow. The Seed that fell on the Stone grew but dried up.
Do you know what that means? – Fruitless Efforts, Struggling and Never Succeeding!
It takes the Fire of God to consume Hardship, it takes the Fire of God to put an end to Poverty!
1 Kings 17: 8-16 – The Widow of Zarephath had been dwindling in her resources till she was left with only one Meal. Then Elijah, the Fire Carrier came in and the tides turned.
In 2 Kings 4: 1-7 – Creditors were coming to take the children of the Widow to Pay her debt. Debt was about to swallow “The Very Future” of the Widow; when Elisha, the Man with the Double Portion of Fire came and the tides turned.
In Exodus 3: 1-8 – When God came down as Fire and spoke to Moses, He said: I have come so that I can take the children of Israel from the afflictions to a Land flowing with Milk and Honey.
… Fire can bring an end the Hardship!
I’m Praying for those that of you who are suffering – Particularly who are in Financial Hardship; the Fire of God will fall today and put an end to that Hardship in Jesus Name – Amen.
But there is something else that a Stone can represent – And that is the Heart of Man.
In Ezekiel 36:26; the Almighty God had to make a Promise – I will take the “Stony Heart” out of you and give you a “Heart of Flesh”.
… He compared the Heart of Man to a Stone.
Jeremiah 17:9 says: The Heart of Man is desperately wicked.
… The Natural Heart of a Man is desperately wicked.
I have come in contact with one (1) or two (2) People that when you just look at them, when you see their behaviour, you say: Oh God, do something about this Heart of Stone.
It takes the Fire of God to consume a Heart of Stone.
And you can find an example in the Scriptures – In Mark 3:17; the Bible calls John, the Apostles of Jesus Christ, “The Son of Thunder”.
… He was a Man with Violent Temper!
How Violent? – Oh, you know the Story.
In Luke 9: 51-56; when Jesus Christ says that He wanted to stay in a Village and the Villagers who were Samaritans says: No, we are not going to allow you stay with us. We have nothing to do with you People.
John was one of the People who said to Jesus Christ: Let us call down Fire on them and burn them all.
… That is the kind of Heart John has.
Until the Day of Pentecost, when the Fire came and hit this Man with the “Stony Heart”; he became the “Apostle of Love”.
He was the one who wrote 1 John 4: 7-8 – Beloveth, let us Love one another. God is Love!
I am assuming that those of you who are listening to me (or reading now on the Label of DMC) that your Heart are “Hearts of Stone”; the Fire of God will come down on these Hearts and change them to “Hearts of Flesh” – Amen!
Or maybe you have one (1) or two (2) Children or Relatives, who are so Stubborn, who cannot yield any entity – You want to love them, but they say they don’t want to be loved. I Pray today that the Fire of God will descend on such People – Amen; and Change their “Hearts of Stone” to “Hearts of Flesh” in Jesus Name – Amen
- And then the Fire went ahead and consume the Water.
… You must know that this Fire of God must be very Special Fire indeed – The Fire that can hear Stone, then that must be a Special kind of Fire.
But this Fire consume Water!
I think that when there is a Fire Outbreak, you look for water to put it out.
But this one (Fire) says that I can drink up water.
What is that saying?
It takes the Fire of God to wipe away tears!
In Revelation 21:4; the Almighty God said: I will wipe away tears from all our eyes.
… May that be your Portion today in Jesus Name – Amen.
In John 14: 16-17; Jesus Christ Promised us “A Comforter” – And that is the Holy Spirit.
And if you don’t know anything about the Holy Spirit at all; He is a Fire!
In Luke 7: 11-15 – When a Widow was going to bury her only Son and Jesus Christ, who was according to Acts 10:38 was anointed with Holy Ghost and Power, who went about doing Good.
When the Fire Carrier arrived at the scene, He said to the Widow: Wipe Not!
… And you know the rest of the Story.
Within minutes, all tears were gone!
My Prayer today is that whatever is it that is still causing you Sorrow, the Fire of God will consume – Amen!
- And then the Fire went ahead and did something Extra: It consumed the Dust – The very Dust in which the Altar was built!
What is this one saying?
Well in Genesis 3: 17-19; God told Adam – You are from the dust, to dust shall you return.
The Dust is Symbolic of our Flesh or Body.
It takes the Fire of God to solve every Problems that is in your Body (Physical Problems).
And a Classical Example is found in Mark 5: 25-34.
You know the Story of the Woman with the Issue of Blood, who came from behind and touched the Hem of the Garment of Jesus Christ and the Sickness of twelve (12) Years came to an end.
If you listened to what Jesus Christ said when He asked who touched Me?
And Peter said: You see all these crowd thronging You. How can You say: Who touched Me?
He (Jesus Christ) said: Virtues has gone out of Me.
There was a Spark of Fire that went out from the Fire Carrier to go into the Body of the Woman.
I mean you know what happens when there is an Electric Spark – When Fire jumps from one Source to somewhere else.
I Pray today that: The Spirit of God, the Fire of God will touch your Body and everything that is not of God there will be destroyed – Amen.
- And then what followed after the Fire consumed the Offerings, consumed the wood, consumed the Stones, lick up the Water, consumed the Dust – The Bible says that they fell on their faces and they say: Jehovah is God!
Whenever Prayers are answered by Fire, Revival follows
… The People fell on their faces!
The reason why there is no Revival in many, many Churches today is because they have put the One who is the Fire out of the Service!
If you will just let the Holy Spirit come, you let the Fire come; things will Change!
When you read Acts 3: 1-end – The Bible tells us that when Peter and John healed that Man by the “Beautiful Gate”.
When the Fire of God touched him; because when Peter said to him: Silver and Gold have I none, but what I have, I give unto you – In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise Up and Walk.
The Man didn’t move but when Peter grabbed him by the hand, the Fire that Peter was carrying flowed through that Man and he jumped Up and began to dance and to rejoice.
The Bible says that the Sermon that followed led to the Salvation of five thousand (5,000) People – Acts 4:4.
If only God will send down His Fire today (or as you read now on the Label of DMC) – And I Pray He will (Amen); there will be Revival – Amen!
I have told you the Story before – The first time that I went to Mainland Europe to go and Preach the Gospel in Holland.
Oh, the People there were very, very cold.
And I remembered that our Ambassador (Nigeria Ambassador) there received me and called the other Ambassadors together so that I might speak to them.
I spent all my Energy talking about how God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son et cetera et cetera.
At the end of it all, one of the Ambassadors said that he has a Question – So I asked: What is the Question.
He said: What is God?
… What? Not even Who?
Now, I’m talking about a God who gave His Only Begotten Son and this Fellow was thinking – What is God?
But we were to hold a Crusade – A kind of Holy Ghost Rally that Evening.
But unfortunately, they brought a Man from the Hospital – The Man that the Doctors said that there is no Hope for.
As I took the Microphone and I just worshipped God and I was about to begin to Preach; the Man got fed up and said they should roll him out and take him back to the Hospital.
As he got to the door, the Power of God hit him and he jumped up.
They brought him in on a Stretcher and he began to run, shake his hands and legs. And every Parts of his body erupted.
I didn’t have to Preach again – I just made an Altar Call.
That same Place now is our RCCG Intercontinental Headquarters in Europe.
If only the Fire will fall, if only you will allow the Holy Spirit to move in and stop being lackadaisical. Let the Holy Spirit come in, let Him turn everything upside down – There will be a Revival!
I hope that you will lay yourself on the Altar of God again today and say: Holy Ghost, let Your Fire fall on me – Let Your Fire consume my Offerings, consume my wood, consume my Stones, Lick Up my tears, touch my Body, touch my Soul, touch my Spirit and let Revival begins!
SPECIAL PRAYER POINTS.
Before I close; I want you to write down these Prayer Points because you need to Pray it.
Because I believed that God will answer you by Fire today – Amen!
- After you have Thank the Almighty God who Himself is a “Consuming Fire”; you ask Him: Father, Please answer me by Fire today.
- Father, accept my Offerings and accept me.
I will never give Grudgingly again – Never!
I Promise You that from now on, I will be a “Cheerful Giver”.
Anytime that I hear that it is time for Offering; I will shout for Joy!
- Let Your Fire fall on me and activate my Potentials.
That Potential that is hidden in me Lord God Almighty; set it on Fire now so that I can become what You want me to become.
Father, if my Heart is still a “Heart of Stone”; change it to a “Heart of Flesh” today.
Change my Heart from being a “Heart of Stone” into a “Heart of Flesh”.
And if there is anybody in my family with a “Stony Heart”; let Your Fire touch that Heart today and turn it to a “Heart of Flesh”.
- Then cry to Him and say: Father, Please wipe away all my tears today.
Anything that is causing me sorrow, let Your Fire consume.
- Then you say: Let Your Fire touch my Body, making me Whole; let Your Fire touch my Soul, reviving me; let Your Fire touch my Spirit, making me a Vessel of Revival.
ALTAR CALL
And if there is anyone listening to me (or reading now on the Label of DMC) and you want to give your Life to Jesus Christ so that His Fire can come down on you and turn your Life around; Please bow your head and cry unto Him now and say: Lord, Please save my Soul, every Yokes of Satan in my Life let Your Fire burn and I will serve You for the rest of my Life.

PRAYER FOR SALVATION AND CLOSING PRAYER
My Father and my God, I want to Thank You once again for Your Words.
I want to Thank You because I know that You are a God that answers by Fire – There is no one like You.
And I’m Thanking You on behalf of all those who are surrendering their lives to You today – Please Lord receive them, save their Souls, let Your Blood wash away their sins, receive them into the Family of God. And Father, I’m Praying that they will never backslide.
And I’m committing all Your Children – Those who are just giving their lives to You and those who has been Your Children for a while; answer everyone of us today, grant all our Requests and let Your Name be Glorified.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.
Praise the Lord – Hallelujah!
