OPENING PRAYER

Father Almighy, we just want to worship Your Holy Name. We want to give You all the Glory and Honour for everything that You have ever done for us.

Thank You for lovimg us so much that You lay down Your Life for us. Thank You for even rising from the dead for our Justification. Thank You Lord because we know that You are coming back again and when you return, we shall go with You.

Father, accept our Worship in Jesus Name.

As we continue in our Study Lord God Almighty; Please teach us more and draw us even closer to Yourself.

In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.

Praise the Lord – Hallelujah!

We are continuing with our Series on “GOING HIGHER” and today we will be in Part 55 – “Going Higher – Part 55.

Our Bible Text will remain 1 Kings 19: 13-14.

13. And it was so, when Elijah heard it that he wrapped his face in his Mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a Voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?
14. And he said, I have been very Jealous for the LORD God of Hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy Covenant, thrown down thine Altars, and slain thy Prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my Life, to take it away.

We will be looking at that Section where he said: And “I” even “I” Only.

As you grow Higher in the Lord, as you grow Higher in the Spirit, as you become more and more Anointed; beware of Pride!

There is only one ^I AM” and that is God Himself – Exodus 3:14, He said: ^I Am that I Am^.

So, you can understand what happened in John 8: 58-59; where Jesus Christ called Himself: ^I AM” – The Jews were furious. Who is this Man comparing Himself to God?

Of course because they don’t know about John 1: 1 and 14:

1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his Glory, the Glory as of the Only Begotten of the Father,) Full of Grace and Truth.

They did not know that Jesus Christ was the Son of God and was equal to God!

They (The Jews) believed that the Name “I am” must be reserved for God and God alone.

And when you search through the Scriptures, you discovered that the word “I” means “My” – And it is just the Language of Pride. That is the Language of satan.

Isaiah 14: 12-15 – There you hear satan saying: I will do this, I will do that. This is what will happen to my Throne.

So, when you find Someone always saying “I”, “My”; you know that you are dealing with a Proud Person!

And the Higher you go in the Lord, the more Anointed you become, the Greater the risk of saying “I”, “My”, “Me” – My Church, my Achievements, I did this, I did that.

I mean for Example, take one highly Anointed Man of God called Samson.

In Judges 14: 1-3; he said to his Parents: I have found a beautiful girl among the enemies (It doesn’t matter). Get her for me for she has Pleased me well.

In Judges 15: 14-16; when he fought that Great Battle, when he was brought bound to the Philistines. And the Power of God came Mightily upon him so that the yokes binding him were burnt as fires. And he grabbed the jawbone of an Ass and the anointing flowed mightily. And before you knew what was happening, thousands of Soldiers laid dead.

What did he say?

Heap by heap, with the jawbone of an Ass, I have slain a thousand Men.

There was no Thank You God, there was no reference to the One who sent down the Power that destroyed the Yokes – It was “Me” and “I”.

Even when he was in very serious trouble in Judges 16: 25-28; when the enemies has caught him and Plucked out his eyes and he wanted to Pray just one more Prayer before he died; what did he say?

God empower me just one more time – Not that I may bring Glory to You; he said: So that I can avenge me of my eyes.

… It was him all the way – “I”.

So, when you hear Elijah saying: “I” even “I” only remains – You need to learn a Big Lesson here.

You must never compare yourself to others no matter how High you go. You must never have what they called “Holier than thou Attitude”,

The Word of God says clearly: Those who compare themselves among themselves are not Wise – 2 Corinthians 10:12.

You see: There is only one “True Judge” and that is God. He is the Only One who can say who is who; how High this Fellow is or how Low.

I have told you before in the Past – If you give a Student his Answer Scripts and asked him to grade it himself; he will score 100% because when he was writing down the Answer, he thought that it was correct.

It is the Teacher going through the Scripts who will know – Hey, wait a minute; this is wrong and you are not correct as you think.

I could still remembered Years ago when I was doing my Master Degree Program and my Professor gave me an Assignment and I wrote more than forty (40) Pages on that Assignment. And I was glad that I made a lot of Progrees and so I took the thing to him.

And he looked at what I have written and on the first Page, he saw an error. So, all the other Pages were just a waste of time because it was based on something that was wrong in the beginning.

If we ask Joshua – What kind of Person are you? He is going to tell you that by the Grace of God, I am an “Extremely Successful” Servant of the Most High God. I have done what Moses could not do.

But read Joshua 13:1 – Read the Testimony of God Himself in Joshua 13:1. The Bible says that Joshua was old and well stricken in Age and God said: Joshua, you are old, you are well stricken in Age and there is yet a lot of Land to be Possessed.

Do you know the meaning of that?

Joshua, you are a Failure. You have failed me because I said to you that you are the one who will divide all these Lands to my People. Now, you are about to die, see where you are?

Anytime that you are tempted to feel Proud of your Achievements as you go Higher; anytime you feel like comparing yourself to others – Oh, by the Grace of God: I Love God more than these People; Oh I Pray more, I achieved more – Remember Isaiah 64:6 says: Even your Righteousness are like filthy rags before God!

What you considered as your best, might not even be Acceptable at all to God!

You see – The Teacher, the one who is going to examine your Papers; He is a “Perfect God” and He expects Perfection from you.

Matthew 5:48 says clearly: Be ye therefore Perfect even as your Father in Heaven is Perfect.

Ephesians 5: 25-27 makes it clear – Jesus Christ is coming back for a Bride without Spot, without Blemish, without Wrinkles.

… That is how Perfect you are expected to be. Are you that Perfect yet?

If God calls you High – If you hear from God and you hear: Well done my son; you are doing Great. He is only being Gracious!

You see, the Bible says clearly in Romans 9: 15-16 – God said to Moses: I will have Mercy on whom I will have Mercy; I will have Compassion on whom I will have Compassion on. Therefore, it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth but of God that showeth Mercy.

If you achieve anything at all, it is of the Mercy of God – Keep that in Mind!

Oh, God might be Generous with His Marks towards you.

For Example, in Numbers 12:3; it is written concerning Moses – He was the Meekest Man on the face of the Earth.

… Wao, what a Great Recommendation!

But you need to remember that the Man they are calling the Meekest Man is well known for his “Violence Temper”.

For Example, Numbers 20: 1-12 – God said: Go and speak to the Rock but he turned round in anger and said: You People, Stiff Necked People, Ungrateful People; you want water to drink? Must we give you water to drink?

… Is he (Moses) the one giving water?

Watch it Brother, watch it Sister because you are “Going Higher” and that is why I’m hammering this issue at this Period!

I told you some couple of weeks ago that we have been on this thing (Going Higher) for more than one Year now and its time to begin to get into Deeper Waters.

Having said that however; Relationship with God is strictly on Individual basis – Your Relationship with God has Nothing to do with mine. You and yours alone; you and God!

So, when it comes to “I”; that could apply in your Relationship to God – It is “I” and not “We”.

David said: The Lord is “My” Shepherd, “I” shall not want – It means that it is between me and God. That’s Psalms 23:1.

He said in Psalms 34:1 – “I” will bless the Lord at all times, His Praiae shall continually be in “My” mouth.

In Romans 14:12; the Bible says that everyone shall give an Account of Himself to God.

… When it comes to God assessing you, it is going to be on an Invidividual basis!

In 1 Corinthians 3:13; the Bible made it clear: Everyone work shall be tried with Fire. Not all of us together – It is one at a time.

When you get to Heaven and God is about to reward us; every works that we have done here on Earth will be put in Fire. And it is one Person’s work at a time.

Remember that where we are going, there is no Night there. So, no rushing. There is no question of time is going – The Pastor will Stand on his own, the General Overseer alone, the Members of the Choir alone, the Ushers alone. Everybody, one by one.

The Fearful Thing is that the whole Universe will be Watchimg and you won’t be able to hide from anyone.

So, how close to God you want to be, is a matter of Individual Choice.

Some of you may feel that you have already gone too high in the Lord and you are satisfied with wherever you are – No Problem, it is an Individual Choice.

In Daniel 1: 3-8; Daniel said: I will not defer myself – It is an Individual Decision.

When he (Daniel) spoke to his friends and say: Do you want to join me in Purity? – Those who agreed to join, joined. So, those who didn’t want to join, that’s no Problem.

But at the end of the day in Daniel 6: 1-3 – Because he refused to defy himself, the Bible said that he has an Excellent Spirit. He excelled.

Do you want to excel? – Then you must be Pure!

In Daniel 6: 19-22; the Bible tells us the reason why the Lions couldn’t eat Daniel was because he was found Innocent in everything.

In Genesis 39: 1-9; when Joseph was faced with tremendous Pressure from the wife of the Master to commit Adultery; he said: I can’t do this and sin against God.

The wife of the Master said that: Don’t worry, I’m in Charge here. Nobody is going to know.

Joseph said that it is not a question of who knows and who doesn’t knows; it is a question of between me and my God.

And you know the results – He (Joseph) got to the Top!

By the time you read Genesis 50: 15-21; his brothers still came to bow down before him.

What you love and what you hate is an Individual Choice!

Hebrews 1:9 says: Because you love Righteousness and you hate Iniquities, that is why God even your God has anointed you with the Oil of Gladness above thy fellows.

How close you want to be to God is up to you – It is your Choice.

It is a Choice of what you love and what you hate.

In 1 Corinthians 9: 24-end, Paul said: In a race, there are many People running but only one fellow will win.

And he said that I want to be the Winner. And then he spelt out what he did in order to be the Winner.

I used to be a Sportsman when I was a little Youmger. And our Coach way back in the 1960’s at the University of Nsukka – An American Coach said to us: They will tell you that all that matters is just to Participate and you don’t have to win.

He said: Ask them – How come they don’t give Medals to losers?

He said: You are going in to win and not just win; you are going in to be Number 1.

He said look, they give Gold to the Fellow who comes First, they give Silver to the Second and he said that an ounce of Gold cost many ounces of Silver. He said that you come Third, they just give you Bronze.

Do you want to be Number 1? – Be Willing to Pay the Price!

In Philippians 3: 7-14; the Bible tells us that Paul said: All things that were Gain to me, I counted them as lost because I want to win Christ.

How High you go is determined by you!

Finally, when it comea to the issue of Salvation, it is absolutely an Individual Business.

Let me make it clear – God has no Grandchildren – You are either a Child of God or you are not.

That your father is a Child of God – True Child of God does not mean that will cover you. No!

The Bible said in Ezekiel 8: 4-13; it says: If your father is Godly and you are ungodly; your father will live and you will die.

… God has no Grandchildren. He only has Children.

ALTAR CALL

So, if you have not yet given your Life to Jesus Christ and you think that I am the son of Reverend, I am the son of Apostle.

Oh, you could be the son of the Highest Apostle and go to Hell if you don’t give your Life to Jesus Christ.

Today, if you are yet to give your Life to Jesus Christ, Please come to Jesus Christ now because you are a Child of God.

You bow your head wherever you are – Cry to God and say: Please, save my Soul as I want to be one of Your Children, I will serve You as an Individual. I don’t care about what others may think but as an Individual, I want to be Your Child. Please, save my Soul.

Pray that Prayer and I will Pray for you now!

In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.

PRAYER FOR SALVATION AND CLOSING PRAYER

My Father and my God, I want to bless Your Holy Name. King of Glory, I want to Thank You for Your Words.

The Great I am that I am, I’m committing all those who says that they want to come to You today and become Your Child into Your Hands; Please receive them, save their Souls, let Your Blood wash away their sins, receive them into the Family of God and let them serve you till the very End.

Thank You my Father and my God – In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed (Amen).

Praise the Lord – Hallelujah!

Now, I rejoice with those of you who has given your Life to Jesus Christ – I Promise you that from now on, I will be Praying for you.

Will you Please let me know your details – Your names, your Address, your Prayer Requests and I will be Praying for you.

And Please locate the nearest Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) to you and tell the Pastor there that you have given your Life to Jesus Christ and he will tell you what to do next.

And the rest of you who are already Child of God, I hope that you will cry to the Almighty God and say: It is between You and I now Oh Lord; Please take me Higher. I want to go Higher still.

And may your Prayers be granted in Jesus Mighty Name – Amen!
