*OPENING PRAYER*

The Bright and Morning Star, the Sun of Righteousness, the God who is rich in Mercy. We are all saying Good Morning to You Lord.

Thank You for what you did for us Last Night. Thank You that by Your Mercy we are awake again today. Father, accept our Thanks, in Jesus’ Name.

Lord, this Morning we are asking that You would visit us afresh; that You would do something for us that we will never forget: That this Day would mark a Major New Beginning in our lives.

And Please Lord, continue to bless this Great University (OAU).

In Jesus’ Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.

Let Someone shout Hallelujah – Hallelujah.

Please, shake hands with one (1) or two (2) People and say: Good Morning, God Bless You!

… And Please, be seated.

Well, Good Morning everybody. I am sure you know that this Early Morning Session of our Meeting is for those who are serious Minded.

The Outreach aspect is what we had Last Night – That’s the time when we could shout, jump and clap. 

But the Early Morning Session is for Digging Deep – For those who are really, really, really serious Minded about making it to Heaven.

*My Prayer for you is that, the God you have come to seek so early, will reveal Himself to you – Amen.*

Psalms 91:1-16

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 

2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.  

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;  

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 

8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.  

9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. 

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. 

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

*This is a very beautiful Psalm – It is a Chapter in the Bible that is called “Divine Insurance Policy”.*

It summarises everything we learnt yesterday – That if you are under the Cover of the Almighty God, then you are truly covered.

Now, when you consider all the beautiful things you get by staying under the Shadow of His Wings, it should become clear to anybody that it is madness to backslide. 

Because to backslide means, you leave being under the Shadow of the Almighty; you get out of the Cover, and you want to do things your own way again.

If you have been covered by His Wings and you have been enjoying all the Blessings that were enumerated yesterday – Covered Physically, Mentally, Maritally, Materially, covered Spiritually. Your Past, Present and Future covered. And all of a sudden you say, “I don’t want it anymore! I want to go out.” 

1. *Well, you should know straightaway without being a Prophet that, if you say you don’t want to be covered, then you become Naked.* 

That’s easy to find out! 

When you read Genesis 3:1-end, you will see that the moment Adam and Eve decided to get out of the Cover of God, the first thing they discovered is that, they were Naked.

*If you are not Covered, then automatically you would become Naked, devoid of the Glory of God.*

You know, yesterday we learned that your future is covered. Christ in you the Hope of Glory. And the opposite of Glory (of course) is Shame. 

So, you would discover that the moment you get off Cover and you become Naked, the next thing is Shame.

2. *You would discover that when you move out of the Cover of the Almighty, the next thing is that you will be devoid of Power, devoid of Strength and your Secrets become open to the Enemies.*

In Judges 16:4-21, the Enemies had been watching Samson. They said, “this is not an Ordinary Man, there is something behind this fellow; and we need to know the Secret of his Strength.”

And you know what happened – He fell out of favour with God and so, the enemy discovered oh! Once we removed the connection between him and God, he is just an Ordinary Man.

I remembered years ago when I was a Younger Christian, that a lot of People would come to me and say: Young Man, we see the way you are going for the Lord – You’ve been very hot. Make sure you don’t backslide and I would smile.

I know where I am coming from and I know how I used to live in fear, in Sickness, in all manners of bondage. Do you think I am a fool to want to go back to those things? 

Thank God for His Grace that has kept me all these years.

*But I tell you the Truth, one of the things that God used to keep me in check is, reminding me of where I was coming from.*

*I Pray for everyone of you here this Morning, inclusive those reading now on the Label of DMC, that you will never backslide – Amen.*

3. *Anyone who gets out of the Cover that the Shadow of His Wings Provides is open to all manners of Sicknesses and Diseases.*

In 2 Kings 5:20-27, Gehazi decided to get outside the Cover of the Almighty God. And within one day, the one who was supposed to be an Assistant Prophet, ended up becoming a Leper.

I have always told you the Story of a brother we all knew as Brother Sam – A Young Man, Practically an illiterate as he couldn’t speak a word of English. But he was Mightily used of God. He was full of the Holy Spirit. 

We have a record of at least three (3) People he raised from the Dead.

He was full of the Holy Spirit, that when they invited him to a Teachers’ Training College to come and Preach he said, “when I get there I would tell them I can’t speak English, so you have to get an Interpreter.”

As he got up, took the Microphone and was about to  say, “Sorry I can’t speak English” – Brilliant English began to flow out of him. He Preached for one (1) hour in Queen’s English. He couldn’t understand what he was saying, but he suddenly saw that at a Stage, People began to run forward because he was giving the Altar Call in English.

I could tell you several other things about Brother Sam. 

But then, Pride came! – “Brother Sam let’s go for Bible Study.” Brother Sam would say, “who is going to teach?” 

They say brother “So and So”. He says, “how many dead People has he raised? For me to listen to him, he must have done far more than I did.”

… Brother Sam ended up in a Lunatic Asylum!

*DMC NOTES: Psychiatric Hospitals, also known as Mental Hospitals, Mental Health Units, Mental Asylums or simply Asylums, are Hospitals or Wards Specializing in the treatment of serious Mental disorders, such as Clinical Depression, Schizophrenia, and Bipolar disorder.*

*I Pray for every one of you who are Lovers of God Sufficiently to come out at 6:00am or reading now on the Label of DMC; you will never backslide – Amen.*

Because when the Holy Spirit leaves, an evil spirit would move in. 

In 2 Peter 2:20-22 (we would talk more about that later), the Bible says clearly, Backsliders are to be compared to dogs; who return to their vomit.

It says it is better for someone to never have been in the Lord than after he or she has tasted all the Blessings of the Lord; to say he or she wants to go back. Because it will be like a dog returning to its vomit.

*May be I should spend some time talking to you about Dogs: because that’s the correct definition of Backsliders.*

… I am not the one saying so, it’s the Bible.

Proverbs 26:11 states clearly that there is a link between dogs and fools. 

And then Psalms 14:1 says, the fool hath said in his Heart, there is no God. 

*It takes a fool to say there is no God but a backslider is a fool.* 

And you know what? 

Proverbs 10:23 describes someone who backslides as someone who enjoys sin. 

And according to Proverbs 3:35, the Bible made it clear that while the Wise will inherit Glory, Shame shall be the Promotion of fools.

*Anybody who comes out of  the Cover would become Naked; and would begin to experience Shame.*

The Bible tells us in Proverbs 11:29, that fools would end up becoming Servants of the Wise. 

The Backsliders can only go steadily downwards and they would end up becoming Servants.

*My Prayer for you is that you will never backslide – Amen.*

*The Bible warns that it is even very dangerous to keep Company of Backsliders.* 

Because in Proverbs 13:20 the Bible says clearly, “The Companion of fools shall be destroyed”. 

If a Brother or a is Sister backslides, you do your best to bring him back to the Lord. But the moment you discover that he or she is not willing to yield, you separate yourself from him or her because, “the Companion of fools shall be destroyed”.

… Now a little more about Dogs. 

I. *Dogs always miss Miracles:*

Occasionally, we hear People who would say that the reason they left the Church was because the Miracle they were hoping for didn’t come on time. 

God is never late! He is always on time. 

The Bible calls Him “The Ever Present Help in time of trouble” (Psalms 46:1).

But the Bible made it abundantly clear: He has a time for everything, and He knows what is the best time for you. 

*So if you should move away from Him because you think He is late, then it means the Miracles you were waiting for you, you will never get.*

Why? Matthew 15:21-28 made it abundantly clear, God will not give the bread of children to dogs. 

*Dogs will never get Miracles from God.*

I can tell you Stories upon Stories of People who felt that God was too slow, and they decided to seek other means. 

What they got is not a Miracle – They may get Magic and they will Pay for it.

You Probably have been reading of some fake Miracles. And some People now are beginning to say, how can this happen, Nobody warned us? That’s not true! 

If they would only go back they would know that at least myself and a friend of mine, we shouted that what this Man is doing that he is calling Miracles is Magic at the very best.

And if you get anything from Satan you will Pay for it. 

Let me just give you one (1) Example. 

There was a Lady in the Church who was waiting on the Lord for the fruit of the womb. After waiting for a while she felt that God was too slow so she decided to consult a Prophet.

… God Bless Prophets! Because there are Genuine ones. okay! 

But don’t worry yourself about fake Prophets, God will deal with them – He Promised to deal with them in His Own time. 

Anyway, the next thing we saw after Sister was absent from Church for about six (6) Months is that she came back Pregnant.

“Daddy look at me, I am Pregnant now.” Congratulations! 

What happened we have not seen you for six (6) Months now? – Your Prayer was too slow so I went to see Prophet “So and So.” 

After seven (7) years and the Pregnancy was not delivered we had to cry onto God for Mercy.

*Anything that you would go to the devil to get, I Pray in the Name that’s above every other name, you won’t even desire it – Amen.*

The Bible made it abundantly clear in Matthew 7:6, “Don’t give Holy things to dogs.”

II. *You cannot get Divine Anointing after you are Backslidden.*

There are all kinds of Anointing, you know! 

Do you know that Anger is Anointing? 

Have you discovered that when you are angry, suddenly you feel extremely Strong? 

If you are angry, something tells you that you can beat three (3) People at the same time.

It is the devil just deceiving you – Move with your anger and see what would be the result!

*The Anointing of the devil can only lead you to failure.*

One of my favourite Boxers was Muhammad Ali – You know, I was a boxer when I was Young. I don’t look like one now (laughs)! But I loved Muhammad Ali.

In his days he would Predict the Rounds he will knock out his Opponents accurately. And I was watching because I wanted to be like him.

Incidentally we are of the same age – He (Mohammed Ali) was born in 1942 just like myself.

And I discovered that the Method he used to defeat his opponents is not so much his Ability to box – It is that he got them angry. 

He will abuse them, he will taunt them – So they came into the ring angry and “Angry People” make mistakes. 

*Don’t look for Anointing from the devil – It can only lead to your Destruction.*

*God will not give Holy things to dogs – The Anointing that the Almighty God gives is for those who stay under the Shadow of his Wings.*

Philippians 3:2 said clearly, “Beware of dogs.” 

*Beware of Backsliders, because if you don’t stay far away from them, they might lead you astray.*

III. *Ultimately, there is no dog in Heaven.* 

Revelation 22:15 made it clear. It says, “without are dogs”. 

And then he gives us a list of those who are in the set of dogs (sorry I used the word ‘set’).

Those of you who are not Mathematicians, you may not know what I mean by that. 

When we talk about a Set of Numbers – Numbers that behave the same way; we put them in a Set. 

For example, every figure that can be divided by two (2) we put them in the Set of Even Numbers; those that cannot be divided by two (2), it doesn’t matter how long, they are in the Set of Odd Numbers. 

*Now, the Set of dogs are those who behave exactly like dogs – Sorcerers, Whoremongers, Murderers, Idolators, those who tell lies and those who love those who tell lies (Revelation 22:15).*

*So, you should beware of dogs, beware of Backsliders, all those who keep the Company of Backsliders, beware of them.*

… Now let me Conclude, because Morning Devotion is supposed to be brief, so you can remember everything that was said. 

In the Passage that I read to you this Morning – Psalms 91:1 it says, He that dwelleth in the Secret Place of the Most High shall abide under the Shadow of the Almighty.

*It says clearly, if you want to abide under the Shadow of the Almighty, you must dwell with Him.*

You cannot be a “Sunday-Sunday Christian” and abide under the Shadow. 

You must be a Christian 24/7 – All the days of your Life. 

Once you enter under the Shadow of the Almighty, you stay there. 

Psalms 23:6 says: Surely, Goodness and Mercy shall follow me (for how long)? All the days of my Life (subject to what Condition)? I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

Now, Psalms 92:12-14 says, if you are Planted in the House of the Lord you will flourish. If you dwell, you will still bear fruit in old age.

*When we talk about flourishing (maybe God will give us an opportunity in the future talk about it); there are Categories of Prosperity – It comes in Stages:*

– We have those who are Destitutes.

– We have those who are Poor. 

– Then we have those who are Comfortable.

– Then those who are Rich.

–  We have those who are Wealthy.

– There are those who are Prosperous.

–  And then those who are Flourishing. That is the Pinnacle!

I don’t have the time, but by the time you are Wealthy, you have enough money to keep in the Bank and say keep it here, Fixed Deposit. I won’t need that money for the next two (2) years, so fix it. 

Then you are Wealthy!

By the time you get to the Level of Prosperous, when you are driving on Campus everybody will know your car!

… Let me give you an example of Prosperous:

A man was going for Morning walk with his bodyguards and then he saw a factory. And like every factory it looked dirty on the outside. He said, what factory is that? They said, it is the Place where they make Rolls-Royce. He said what! You mean that is where they make my car? They said yes. He said, let’s branch. 

He got there, he said I want to see the owner of this factory. 

They introduced him, he said, I want to buy your factory. 

The man looked at him and said are you crazy? I mean, I Produce Rolls-Royce so who told you I am hungry? Who told you I want to sell my factory? 

The Prosperous Man said, don’t let us waste time: I will pay you ten (10) times the worth of the Place. 

When the man sat down, he knew that even if he worked for ten (10) years he won’t get ten (10) times its worth – He sold it!

*So a man went for a walk and he bought a factory on the way – That’s Prosperous!*

You want to hear about Flourishing? 

The wife of a Rich Man, Probably the richest in the world (you know they don’t make noise, so they are not the People you think they are).

The wife came to London to Shop, and shopped for three (3) days. At the end of the three (3) days she told one of the Servants, “go and get a Plane to take my Goods home.” And that one said, Yes ma! And quickly went to get a Cargo Plane. 

She said, What! You want to put my Goods in a Cargo Plane? Go and buy a Brand New 747, remove all the seats and use it to take my Goods home. So they bought a Brand New 747, donated the seats to the Seller; took all her Goods home. 

They put them in the Store house and she never opened one of the Parcels for three (3) years! 

So she went Shopping because she was bored.

*How many of you want to Flourish? The DMC FAMILY MEMBERS!*

Let me hear you shout Hallelujah – Hallelujah!

The Bible says, if you stay with God even in your Old Age, you will still be flourishing. 

Look at me, by the Special Grace of God – Physically, at age Eighty Two (82) I am not supposed to be jumping up and down like a small boy. 

But if you abide, even in Old Age, you will flourish Physically. 

Materially, I have not reached the Stage of buying 747 to take my Goods home (laughs)! But by the Special Grace of God I have left the Border of Poverty forever. 

*And I am Praying the same thing for you – Amen.*

*That is why I am begging you – Abide, stay under the Shadow of the Almighty and even in old age you will still be Flourishing.*

It is time to Pray! 

I want you to talk to the Almighty God and say Father, Thank You for bringing me under Your Shadow. Give me the Grace to abide forever.

Go ahead talk to the Almighty God! Pray that Prayer, it is important.

If only you can abide under the Shadow the Almighty then surely, Goodness and Mercy shall follow you all the days of your Life.

*Father, Thank You for bringing me under Your Shadow: give me the Grace to abide forever – Amen.*
