OPENING PRAYER
Our Father, we want to say Thank You tonight.
Thank You for everything You have done.
Thank You for the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
Thank You for our father-in-the-Lord, Pastor E.A Adeboye.
Thank You for our Mother in Israel, Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye.
Thank You for Your Mercy that is evident upon this Commission.
Lord, we are coming Tonight to say Thank You.
Thank You for Your Faithfulness for the past Forty (40) Years.
This can only be You.
Your Excellency, we hallow You tonight!
And we are saying, may Your Name alone be Glorified forever and ever.
In Jesus’ Mighty Name we Prayed – Amen.
If you are still here with me, can you shout a louder Hallelujah – Hallelujah.
I want to take this opportunity to appreciate our Senior Pastors.
I want to thank you all for your Labour of Love and your impacts.
I want to say, the Lord bless you all richly, in the Name of Jesus – Amen.
I want to also take this opportunity to appreciate our Parents-in-the-Lord, Daddy and Mummy G.O
Daddy, thank you so much; Mummy, thank you so much; for always reaching out to the Youth an Young Adult (YAYA) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
One thing is certain; we are Praying for you according to Romans 8:11 – But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
May that same Spirit – Which we know is also inside you, quicken your mortal body, in the Name of Jesus – Amen.

Alright! By the Grace of God, tonight we shall be looking at a very important Topic, “Excellence”.
And I’ll be taking my Bible Texts from Genesis 1:1-3 and Psalm 8:1.
Genesis 1:1-3:
1 In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth.
2 The Earth was without form, and void; and Darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3 Then God said, “Let there be Light,” and there was Light.
I want to read the second Bible Text – Psalm 8:1.
O LORD our Lord, how Excellent is thy Name in all the Earth! who hast set thy Glory above the Heavens.
Beloved, I want to establish by way of introduction tonight, that the first thing that confronted His Excellency; the first thing that confronted God at creation was the Challenge of Excellence.
Genesis 1:2 says, The Earth was without form, and void; and Darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
The word “Void” means:
- Empty
- Something that is invalid.
It means His Excellency created something, but it was looking invalid.
Genesis 1:2 said it was without form.
We are called into a Life of Excellence, because a Life of Mediocrity does not Glorify our God.
Psalm 8:1 says, O Lord, our Lord, How Excellent is Your Name in all the Earth, Who have set Your Glory above the Heavens!
And the Bible says in Genesis 1:2-3, The Earth was without form, and void; and Darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be Light,” and there was Light.
I want to tell you tonight that every situation in your Life that does not depict Excellence; by the Power of the Spirit, the Lord is bringing Excellence in the Name of Jesus – Amen.
Whatever is in your Life that does not depict the Excellence of God in your Life, I decree that God is bringing Excellence tonight, in the Name of Jesus – Amen.
Beloved, our God is an Excellent God.
And I want to let you know, according to 2 Peter 1:3, “According to his Divine Power hath given unto us all things that Pertain unto Life and Godliness, through the Knowledge of him that hath called us to Glory and Virtue”.
Amplified Version of 2 Peter 1:3 says: For His Divine Power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to Life and Godliness, through the [full, personal] Knowledge of Him Who called us by {and} to His own Glory and Excellence (virtue).
What it means Beloved, is that we are called into a Life of Excellence.
A Life of Mediocrity does not Glorify our God.
… So, God has called you and I into a Life of Excellence.
And tonight, after this Meeting, we will begin to Manifest Excellence in every area of our lives, in the Name of Jesus – Amen.
If you are the one I am talking about, can you shout a loud Amen – Amen!
WHAT IS EXCELLENCE?
I want to bring to us a few meanings of Excellence:
- Excellence is the Quality of being Outstanding.
According to John 15:8, Jesus Christ speaking said, Herein is my Father Glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my Disciples.
What it means is that Jesus is not telling us to bear fruits; we should bear Excellent Fruits.
Note the words, “Much and Abide.”
In everything we do, God expects a Measure; a Degree of Excellence from us.
And Jesus is telling His Disciples, “that is what glorifies the Father” – When you live an Excellent Life.
God is not Glorified in Mediocrity.
Because He is King, whatever bears His Name should represent Excellence.
Help me tell your Neighbour: “I will not live beyond the expectations of God.”
He has called me to a Life of Glory and Excellence; why should I live less of His intentions?
In Ephesians 3:10, the Bible says, To the intent that now unto the Principalities and Powers in Heavenly Places might be known by the Church the manifold Wisdom of God.
Meaning you and I have to express the Manifold Wisdom and Excellence of God in every direction.
That we should represent God wherever we find ourselves – Not living an Ordinary Life, but living an Extraordinary Life.
That is why I know that before you leave here tonight, the Lord will Perfect all that concerns you, in the Name of Jesus – Amen.
And every area of your Life that does not Glorify God; by the Power in the Name of Jesus, you are leaving this Place an Excellent Person, in the Name of Jesus – Amen.
- Excellence is the Determination to Surpass Ordinary Standards.
Daniel 1:8 says, But Daniel Purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the Portion of the King’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the Prince of the Eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
There was a Standard already set in Babylon, for the likes of Daniel.
Remember, the Kind had given instructions to the Eunuchs to feed them very well.
But Daniel understood that we are not called into a Life of Mediocrity, but a Life of Excellence.
And unknown to the Eunuchs, this man Daniel brought a Standard!
Can I tell you the truth?
God does not want us to just follow a Standard; He wants our lives to become the Standard.
I speak to Somebody tonight or reading this Message now on the Label of DMC: The Lord is making you become the Standard in your family, in your Community, and in your Company – Amen.
If you are the one, let your Amen Roar like Thunder – Amen!
- Excellence is a State of Movement.
It is neither a Start nor a Destination;
Excellence is an Adventure.
2 Corinthians 3:18 says, But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are Changed into the same image from Glory to Glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
And Proverbs 4:18 says, But the Path of the Just is as the Shining Light, that shineth more and more unto the Perfect day.
Let me tell you: Whatever you have done yesterday is not Excellence – You are still dwelling in the Past.
God is saying, “That is not Excellence.” You are not fulfilling Scriptures.
- Excellence is not an Arrival; it is a Journey.
- We don’t arrive until the Perfect Day.
- And we don’t get to arrive until He calls us Home.
Help me tell your Neighbour: “All the days of my Life, I will be Excellent.”
BIBLICAL EXAMPLES
I want to quickly mention two (2) Men in the Bible who were Excellent:
- Joseph in Egypt.
Genesis 39:9 say, There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?
Joseph said to Potiphar’s wife: What you are calling “Pleasure” is actually a great wickedness to God.
Can I tell you the truth?
Anything you do that does not Glorify God; you may call it Pleasure, but it is called wickedness.
And the Bible says, “There is no Peace for the wicked.”
Tonight, I want us to be like Joseph; regardless of where we find ourselves – We must do everything to Please God.
And the Bible says, For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off. (DMC NOTES: Proverbs 23:18)
So tonight, the Excellent God is calling on you and I to come out from among them and be ye separate.
By the time our father-in-the-Lord makes the Altar Call tonight, Please run forward to Surrender your Life to Jesus Christ.
Several years ago while still in the University as an Undergraduate; by the Grace of God, I was the Prayer Coordinator of my Hostel back then.
One day, I was on my way to Weekly Activities and I saw a young man running toward me. He said, “Pastor, Pray for me.”
I said him, “what happened?”
He said, I just finished fornicating now, Please Pray for me.
I said, what kind of Prayer do you want me to Pray for you?
He said, I have lost my Peace, Pray for my Peace to be restored.
I said, do you know why you lost your Peace?
The very thing you just did is wickedness to God – “The only Prayer I can Pray 6for you is the Prayer of Salvation.”
- Jesus Christ.
In John 2:1-11, there was a Wedding at Cana of Galilee. Jesus was invited, yet they ran out of wine.
His mother said to Him, “Son, they don’t have wine.” Jesus said, Woman, my time has not yet come to Perform Miracles.
He told His Disciples to fill the empty pots with water. And He commanded them to serve the water turned Wine.
When the Chairman of the Ocassion noticed that the water which Jesus turned to wine was sweeter than normal wine; he said, everyone serves the best wine first, but you have kept the best wine until everybody is tired.
That Miracle was an Excellent one!
Do you know why ordinary water turned Wine was sweeter?
It is because whatever the Lord touches will become what it should be, even if it is not looking like it.
The Bible says He calls those things that are not as though they were.
BENEFIT OF EXCELLENCE
- It builds Trust.
On of the benefits of Excellence is that it will build Trust and Confidence.
The reason we trust God is because we have seen Him over and over again, Performing His deeds according to His Word.
If a Believer has Excellence, it will build Trust and Confidence.
Stop asking People to trust you when you have not shown consistent track records of Excellence.
The Bible says we should not cast our Pearls before swine (DMC NOTES: Matthew 7:6).
So, build Capacity to become Excellent and watch how Kings would come to the brightness of your rising.
As I conclude; One of the ways to become Excellent is by Training.
Mark 3:14 sys, And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to Preach,
“If you show up before your time, you will disappear on time.”
Stay in Training!
My Generation does not have the Patience and the tenacity to stay under tutelage.
Galatians 4:1-2 says, Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a Slave, though he is Master of all, but is under Guardians and Stewards until the time appointed by the father.
Tonight, as you submit yourself to training under the influence of the Spirit of God, I Pray for you that you will not lose your Rewards in the Name of Jesus – Amen.
Your Life will become Evidence of what the Word of God speaks about – Amen.
Please rise up on your feet (if you can) we want to Pray.
PRAYER POINT
Put your hand on your head as you declare with me:
I am an Excellent being.
I have been called into the Life of Excellence.
No form of Mediocrity exists in my Life.
I am not a Mediocre.
Go ahead and declare that; until it fuses into your Spirit and into your nature because that is who you are.
You are an Excellent being.
And Nobody will Change that.
The results you had yesterday should not make you believe that you are not Excellent.
The Word of God says He has called us into a Life of Excellence.
Thank You Precious Father.
Your Name alone is to be Glorified.
In Jesus Name we Pray – Amen.
CLOSING PRAYER
Father, as we leave here tonight, our lives will Produce Mighty results of Excellence in the Name of Jesus – Amen.
If you are still with me, can you jam your hands together for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Let Somebody shout hallelujah – Hallelujah!!!!
