Brethren, the week of our RCCG Annual Convention for Year 2026 is here.
GENERAL PRAYERS
- So, first and foremost; I want you to Praise the Almighty God for all that He has done for us since the the last RCCG Annual Convention in Year 2025 – For His Love, His Support and His Prorection.
Go ahead: Praise the Almighgy God – Give Him Glory, give Him Honour and give Him Adoration. Praise Him as He is Worthy to be Praised.
Without Him, we can’t do anything. But with Him, we can do everything.
Praise Him and give Him Glory.
- And then, go ahead and Praise Him for what He has done for you as a Person between the last RCCG Annual Convention 2025 and the new one that is beginning this week.
Give Him Praise, give Him Glory and give Him Adoration as He deserved it.
- And then call on Him and say: Lord, let me be able to Thank You for Miracles, for Signs, and for Wonders during this RCCG Annual Convention 2026.
Help me Oh Lord to be Partakers of the blessings of this RCCG Annual Convention 2026.
Thank You Lord.
- And then, I want you to Pray for all those who are connected with Sports in one way or the other.
Pray for them that by the Special Grace of God, they will keep on succeeding and that all the Glory that Nigeria in Particular used to enjoy in Sports will be restored.
There was a time when Nigeria won the World Cup – Let’s Pray that the Glorious Days will return.
- And then, Pray for Estate Developers that God will continue to use them to Provide Accomodations at affordable Prices for the People.
And Pray for all Tenants that they too will one day become Landlords.
Thank You Father.
- And then Pray for yourself that this Month of August will be a Glorious Month for you.

OPENING PRAYER
King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Ancient of Days; Glory be to Your Holy Name.
Thank You for all that You have done for us since the last Convention in Year 2025.
Thank You for Your Love, Thank You for Your Protection, Thank You for Your Provision, Thank You for Your Defense and Thank You for Your everything.
Father, accept our Thanks in Jesus Name.
Father today, we are Praying especially for all Sportsmen, Sportswomen and all who are Stakeholders in Sports:
We are asking Lord God Almighty that You will take care of them and You will take care of their families.
Through them, we Pray that those Glorious Days in Sports Particularly in Africa and Nigeria will be fully restored.
We Thank You Lord God Almighty for all Estate Developers that in Your own Miraculous way; You will Prosper them so much so that they will be able to Provide Accomodations at affordable Prices even for those who do not have Accomodation.
We are asking that You will take care of all families of all of these People and that it will be well with them.
We are Praying for even those who are Tenants; very very soon, they will become Landlords.
And Father, we are asking for all Your Children who has been Faithful in winning Souls and in Planting Churches; the Promises that You have made for those who are doing this: That You will answer all their Prayers, fulfill now.
As for Your Children who has been Faithful in the Payment of their Tithes and in the Giving of their Offerings; this very Month in a very Pleasant way, embarrass them.
And for all of us today Lord: Even before this Day is over; let us become Divine Champions.
Thank You Almighty God.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.
Let Somebody shout Halleluyah – Halleluyah.
Shake hands with one (1) or two (2) People and say: Good Morning, God bless you.
And then turn around to the other side and Prophesy: Very soon, you will become a Divine Champion – Amen!

This Morning, I am happy to announce to you all that The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Annual Convention 2026 is here – It is going to take Place this week (DMC NOTES: From Monday 3rd to Sunday 9th August 2026).
I have always told you that I am not a Prophet but I hear from Gid once a while.
We have been having Conventions – Beautiful ones for that matter but the one that is beginning this week (Slated for this week) is going to beat them all.
You say: How do you know? Daddy told me.
And so, make sure that you don’t miss it and invite your friends.
It is going to be Wonderful!
Now this Morning, we have been asked to speak briefly on: “DIVINE CHAMPIONS”.
Matthew 24: 11-13:
- And many False Prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
- And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
- But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Life is a war!
From the day a Child is born, the war began.
That is why even a Child that is just being born into the world, begins the Journey by crying – The new baby knows that trouble begins.
And many of us here, when we looked back to our beginning till now, we can only say Thank You Lord that we survived thus far.
Ephesians 6:12 describes our Life as a continuous Wrestling Match.
Ephesians 6:12: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against Ppowers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
But I never did any Wrestling and so I don’t know too much about it but I can only talk to you only from the Perspective of a Boxer because I did a little bit of it even though I know that I don’t look like a Boxer now.
But there was a time that if you mess around with me; I know one (1) or two (2) things about Boxing that I can do for you.
So let us take Life as Boxing and from there look at what do we call a Champion?
In the Language that I believed even a Market Woman can understand; a Boxing Champion is the Man who remains Standing after the bout is over with his hands raised up in Victory.
So maybe I will want to encourage those of you who wants to become a Champion to lift up your hands to the Almighty God and shout Halleluyah – Halleluyah!
Basically, to become a Divine Champion therefore, you are going to need three (3) things because these are the most essential things.
The Coaches who are here are free to correct me.
To be a Champion in Boxing, you need:
- You need to have Strength.
You can’t be a weakling and be a Champion in Boxing. I mean that you won’t even enter the ring to fight for a Championship.
- You are going to need Wisdom.
- And you are going to need a very Good Coach.
You need those three (3) things if you are going to be a Champion in any facets of Life!
But we will confine ourselves to Boxing.
Several years ago, I think about 1975; I wrote a Tract and I called it: “The moment of Truth” – And I used an illustration that I believed will be relevant today.
If two (2) Boxers are Preparing for a Boxing fight, oh each one of them will be boasting to the other fellow – I will knock you out in two (2) rounds et cetera etcetera.
And then the day of the Contest comes and your opponent gets into the ring. And you are supported by your friends, saying kill him, knock off his head etc and you say yeah.
And then the time came and they rang the bell.
The moment the bell is rung, all your friends will get out of the ring and suddenly you find yourself face-to-face with your opponent – And it is you and your opponent now.
So, the little talk that I want to talk to you this Morning is a very Personal one because sooner or later in Life; you will find yourself alone with your opponent as every other Person will back out.
You know that there are moments in your Life that even your Pastor can’t help you – You Phoned your Pastor and the Phine is switched off.
Or you Phone whosoever you think can help you and there is no answer from the other side.
It is now you and that Problem,
But whatever any Problem that will come your way, you will get Victory – Amen!
- You need Strength.
The interesting however is that your own Strength is not going to be enough.
You see, this thing that they call Strength is an internal sonething – By looking at a Man, you can’t determine how Strong he is.
You get to the ring, you are looking bulky and then your opponent looked at you – And you say that this fellow won’t take me long.
But before you know it: Boom and you get a Punch on your head and it looks as if somebody struck you on the head with a Sledge hammer – You mean this Man is this Strong?
You will need Strength one day or the other.
And that tells me straightaway – If you are going to be a real Champion; you need Jesus Christ to give you Strength in the day of trouble.
And now the Bible says in 1 Samuel 2:9 that by Strength shall no Man Prevail.
When you get into real battle, you will soon realised the saying of our Elders that says: “It is the one who has never seen battle that calls himself a Man (DMC NOTES: “E ni ija ko ba lo pe ara e Lokunrin”).
If you haven’t seen the real battle, you can tell everybody that you don’t know who you are talking to.
A time will come and you will discovered that it is only those who has been in battle and have one way or the other managed to survive who can call themselves Men.
I Pray for you this Morning or as you are reading now on the Label of DMC: That any situation in Life that will overwhelm you will never come your way – Amen!
Isaiah 40: 29-31 tells you that even Young Men, they go tired and they become weary.
The fight may continue a little longer than you Planned for.
When you are Practicing for the day of competition, People you Practised with (Partners) – When your Partners are Practicing with you, they Pull Punches. They don’t beat you with all the forces necessary because they are to train you for the main day and not kill you before the day of competition.
But when you come face-to-face with the real battle; even Pastor will know that you need help.
I Pray for you today inclusive those reading now on the Label of DMC: Before that day of truth comes, may the Almighty God be by your side – Amen.
Isaiah 40: 29-31 made it clear that there is Somebody who doesn’t Sleep nor Slumber – He is the One who gives Strength to the weak.
He will make sure that even when the Youths get tired; He is there to Supply them with Strength.
The Great Man – Bold, rich, Powerful and fears Nothing; until the Doctors say to you that we are sorry sir.
At a time like that, you better be sure that the Helper of the Helpless is around.
There was a Young Man who was very, very good – He knows the Scriptures and so anytime that we want to talk to the Married Men and Women; we give him the Assignment.
And he will speak to them quoting this Scriptures and that.
And he will say that when your wife is Pregnant and she is ready to deliver; you the husband as a Child of God, you will bind all the demons and loose all the Angels and then command the baby to come out.
And then he got married and the wife became Pregnant and it was time to deliver – He bound all the bindables, loose all the loosables, command the baby to come out but the baby refused to come out Day 1, Day 2, Day 3.
On the third day, he ran to the back of the house, fell on his face and said: “God just have Mercy on me”.
I Pray for Someone here today listening to me or among those reading this Message now on the Label of DMC: When the moment of truth comes your way, may God show you Mercy – Amen!
- And then you need Wisdom.
In the battle of Life, you need Wisdom.
If you go to war and you just want to go with Strength and you don’t have Wisdom; you will loose.
Muhammad Alli was my Hero – We were born the same year.
And one of the things that I learnt from that Man is that before any battle he fights, he will make sure that he has insulted the opponent to such an extent that such fellow will be raving mad by the time they got into the ring – Knowing fully well that when you are very mad, you behave madly.
When he was going to become Worrld Champion against Sony Lisbon, everybody knows he will loose.
But this boy said: Give him to me, he is a ugly bear and I will kill him.
He spoke so much that Sony Liston says: That is alright, we will meet in the ring.
And they met in the ring and Oga (DMC NOTES: Referring to Sony Lisbon) was very angry and he was just going round and ready to knock off the head of this lousy noisy boy.
But as he was throwing his Punches, this boy was just dodging it because he knew that he was angry. And it was through the anger of the enemy that he defeated the enemy.
When you are getting into the battle of Life, you better have Jesus Christ because He is the One who gives Wisdom to the Wise.
There is one thing that many of us lacked, Particularly those of us who thinks that we can do everything ourselves.
Several times, we don’t know.
For Example:
I. Do you know who you are Sleeping with on the bed?
That Fellow you thought was your darling wife; you don’t even know what Powers she has.
II. That Fellow that you are calling your darling husband, you don’t know how many Secret Cult Societies that he belongs to.
You don’t know the danger living with you in the same house.
It takes God who knows all things to teach you how to go into battle even in your own home.
I don’t have time to tell you too many Stories but I have seen a little bit – I am still a Young Man, only eighty four (84) years old.
But within those years, in the battle of Life you need God.
*You need the One who knows all things so that:
☆ When the moment of truth comes,
☆ When who you think was your Greatest Supporter turned out to be your Greatest Enemy,
☆ When the one you helped and you don’t know that, that fellow is actively looking for your downfall.
Some of you must have watched the Film Series called “The god father”.
Because before I was Born Again, I used to watch those films and I learnt a lot from them.
One Elder brother colluded with Enemies to eliminate his Younger brother.
And the Younger brother said: You! I have been taking care of you.
He said that is the Problem – I am the Elder brother and so I am the one to be taking care of you.
Is that so? So you will become my enemy because I am your friend?
Those of us who are a little bit advanced in Age before we know Jesus Christ; when we go home – We get to the nearest City before our Village and park our cars, remove our beautiful dresses, put it in the car, then we wear something that looks as if we are just surviving in the City and then take a Commercial Vehicle to go home.
And when we got home – When we want to give anything even to your Parents; we make sure that we do it secretly.
Why? Because there are Enemies watching – So they won’t say so he has this much to give to his mother?
That can lead to Problem.
And we know how much we give to those we know that can be Enemies.
Because if you give them too much, they will say: This fellow is rich you know; let us give him something to spend money on.
But I Pray for you: Enemies Known and Unknown that is trying to come against you; God will disappoint them – Amen.
The Bible says in Daniel 2:22 – He is the One who gives Wisdom to the Wise.
Jesus Christ Himself is the Wisdom of God.
- You need a Good Coach.
☆ A Good Coach will teach you Wisdom and will guide you.
☆ A Good Coach will not allow you to become Careless.
☆ A Good Coach is not necessarily your friend.
I have said it before – Your friend is your friend because he likes you the way you are but a Good Coach will not be satisfied with the way you are because he knows that you can be better.
A Good Coach will just keep on Pushing you so that even if you have just won a fight, the next thing is that he wants to take you back to the place of Training.
☆ But more than anything else, a Good Coach will inspire you.
He will keep on telling you – This is what to do and this is how to go about it.
And the Best Coach that you can ever have is Jesus Christ – He is the One who will teach you and Pray for you until your Joy is full.
In other words, if everything is good and all is fine; keep on Praying.
☆ It takes a Good Coach to let you know that immediately after a Victory, the Enemies goes to work.
You knock somebody down and the next time, he is Planning to take off your head.
A Champion normally has no friend.
Because if you are one of the Contender, then you will be Planning to be the Champion.
I used to tell my children during Sunday School competition – By telling the one who won that for the next one year, Nobody will Pray for you.
Why? Because they want to come first Next Year.
And what does that mean?
God, in Your Infinite Mercy; knock that Fellow off so that I can be there next time.
So you think because you are now the Champion means that everybody loves you?
Don’t be a Child? – They want you out of the way as everybody wants to be Number One (1).
Is there anybody here or among those reading this Message now on the Label of DMC who will Prefer to be Number Two (2) when there is an opportunity to be Number One (1)?
No, for the DMC Family Members!
Then what are you Praying will happen to Number One (1)?
You think that you have many friends?
Congratulations, many People that you call your friends are your friends simply because of what they can gain from you.
They are actually looking for a way to push you out of the way so that they can be at the Top.
It is Jesus Christ your Divine Coach who will tell you – Hey:
☆ Keep Watching
☆ Keep Praying
☆ Keep Pressing forward.
My Coach used to tell me: When you make a mistake – The Boxer never sees the blow that knocks him down.
You will just find yourself on the Ground – And you will say: Me! How did that happened?
And my Coach tells me that when they knocked you down; stay down and wait till they count up to eight (8) before you get up.
☆ Let your Enemies think that you are weaker than you are.
☆ Let them think that I almost finished him.
Stay calm there – Rest, Restrategise and then come up and show that Fellow that there is still something left in you.
I Pray for you that you will never make a mistake – Amen!
But if for any reason you find yourself on the floor – A blow hit you that you didn’t see; stay on the Ground and cry to God. He will renew your Strength – Amen.
A Champion is the one who laughs last.
A Champion is not Someone who has not made a mistake – And we all do
And the higher you are, the more terrible your mistake will look.
Take it easy, stay with God and regain your Strength.
And in the Name that is above every other name, you will Laugh last – Amen!
It is your Coach who will say to you: “Don’t take No for an Answer”.
Jesus Christ your best Coach will teach you: “If you Pray and the answer doesn’t come immediately; keep on Praying”.
This is Someone who said that underneath are my Everlasting Arms
He didn’t say that you will never make mistakes.
The Bible made it clear in Proverbs 24:16 – It says a Righteous Man may fall seven (7) times.
Provided he is ready to get up again, he is not yet defeated,
Some of us has been Praying some Prayers and you haven’t gotten an answer yet.
In the Name that is above every other names before the end of this Convention, the answer will come – Amen.
Let me close with this:
You cannot claim to be a real Champion until you finish here on Earth.
Maybe you have wondered why some of these Old Elders still wanted to come back?
Because Nobody wants to be an Ex-Champion.
When a Champion is dethroned, it is not the number of bruises on his face and so on that is the agony – It us that once upon a time when he is coming , everybody is greeting him – How are you Champ?
Then he became Ex-Champion and People will see him coming and look aside.
I Pray for those of you who are Champions now, you will remain Champions – Amen.
But you need a Coach to keep on Inspiring you – To let you know that this battle is not yet over until you finish here on Earth!
I am Praying that all of you who are here Today inclusive those reading now on the Label of DMC: You will finish well so that I can see you in Heaven;- Amen.
I Pray that you will finish well so that Eternally, you will make it to Heaven – Amen.
☆ You need Strength – Everlasting Strength.
☆ You need Wisdom – Only God will give you the Wisdom because:
☆ He knows all the Parameters.
☆ He knows those you are Sleeping with.
☆ He knows those that are Closest to you
☆ He knows all the details and traps the Enemies sets for you and how to frustrate them.
ALTAR CALL
So, those of you who wants to be a Divine Champion – A Champion for Life, and those of you who wants to be a Champion; before the moment of truth comes you better come to Jesus Christ now.
Come and Surrender your Life to Him – He will take care of you from the moment you Surrendered to Him and He will guarantee you Victory.
So, if you want to be a Champion for Life and you want the One who can Supply you with Strength, Wisdom and Inspiration for Life to be with you; come and give your Life to Jesus Christ.
I will count from one (1) to ten (10) – So if you are coming, make sure that you are already here Standing before the Altar before I say ten (10). And I will Pray for you.
So begin to come now!
Now those of us infront, Thank God that you are able to come today,
Talk to Him and say: Lord, have Mercy on me; save my Soul, I want You to be my Strength, I want you to be my Wisdom and I want you to be my Coach.
I Surrender my Life to You – Please Lord, become my Lord and Saviour.
Go ahead and talk to God.
And the rest of us, let us Stretch our hands towards these People and Pray for them that the God who saved your own Soul will save their own Souls also.
Please Pray for them!

In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.
PRAYER FOR SALVATION
My Father and my God, I want to Thank You for Your Words.
Thank You for those who has come forward to Surrender their lives to You.
Father, Please accept our Thanks in Jesus Name.
This Your Children has come to You, Please receive them, have Mercy on them, let Your Blood wash them Clean, save their Souls, and become their Lord and Saviour
And Lord God Almighty, as You receive them into the Family of God, I Pray that from now on, anytime they will cry unto You, You will answer them by Fire.
In any moment of trouble and they come to You for Help, Please help them immediately.
And let them serve You till the end.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen!
Those of you who believed that you need Help – Solutions to Problems Known and Unknown and you believed that the Lord Jesus Christ can solve such Problems; Stand on your feet and shout Hallelujah – Hallelujah!
FINAL CLOSING PRAYER
My Father and my God, I want to Thank You once again for those who are here Today or reading this Message now on the Label of DMC.
Thank You because You are the Helper of the Helpless.
We have You as Someone that we can cry to during the Day of during the Night.
We have You when there is Nobody else who can help us.
Father, accept our Thanks in Jesus Name.
I commit all Your Children here listening to me Into Your Hands – From this moment onwards:
Be our Strength,
Be our Wisdom,
And be our Coach.
And I Pray Lord God Almighty that as a result of this Day’s Service; many of the People here today inclusive those reading now on the Label of DMC will have “Beautiful Testimonies”.
That we will never know Failure again,
That for the rest of our lives, we shall be Victorious,
And Please Lord, let us be Champion forever – Amen.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.
PERSONAL PRAYER REQUEST
Now lift your hands to the Almighty God and call on Him yourself.
And say: Father, I come to You today in Total Humility; Please be my Strength, Wisdom and Coach. Don’t let me be an Ex-Champion.
