Almighty God, the All Sufficient One!
The God of all flesh; the One who has never lost a war. Glory be to Your Holy Name!
Thank You for all You’ve done in our lives today.
Thank You for yesterday. Thank You for what You are going to do tomorrow.
Thank You for everything.
Please, accept our Thanks, in Jesus’ Name.
Father, as we continue with our Meeting in Your Presence, continue to do great and mighty things in our lives.
At the end of it all tonight, let Your Name be Glorified.
In Jesus’ Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.

Straight to our Topic for tonight; In the Morning we considered the Life of Moses.
Tonight we want to look at the Life of JOSUAH – All we need to know about him.
So, the People who spoke in the Morning will continue again this Evening.
They are going to tell us what we can learn from the Life of this Mountain Mover called Joshua.

- Joshua did not follow the crowd. He moved in the direction of God. As Mountain Movers we must stand on what God says.
- Joshua carried the Presence of God. Hence he became Strong and Courageous – Psalm 97:2-3, Deuteronomy 34:1
- Joshua was an Obedient Follower of Moses and God – Joshua 1:6-7
- He Possessed Supernatural Power to Perform Miracles. In Joshua 10:12-13 he commanded the Sun and the Moon to stand still.
- Joshua was humble: he serve Moses faithfully and received Divine Impartation. All his Life he served his Leader, and led the People to the Promise Land.

BIBLE STUDY ON JOSHUA BY DADDY GO
I would want to concentrate on Seven (7) Points in the Life of Joshua, as my own little contribution tonight.
- Joshua was Chosen.
He was chosen!
If you look at what happened in Numbers Chapter 13; when People were sent to spy the land. They returned and said, “We can’t take the land.”
Two (2) People spoke amongst the other spies and said, “We can take the land!” – They were Joshua and Caleb.
If you look at the Story very clearly, in the night when they brought the report, the one who spoke was Caleb. Joshua just stood by him. It was by the following day that Joshua said, “Yes, we can take the land.”
But when the time came to select who to succeed Moses, it is Joshua who was Chosen.
And one of the reasons you are going to be a Mountain Mover is because you know you were Chosen.
Jesus Christ said, Ye have not Chosen me, but I have Chosen you, and Ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my Name, he may give it you. (DMC NOTES: John 15:16)
So, if you know you have been Chosen of the Lord therefore, you are going to be a Mountain Mover;
Lift your hand to the Almighty God and say, Thank You Jesus!
- Joshua was Faithful to his Master
He was so Faithful in the Service of his Master that he was noted for his loyalty, his Service, and his commitment to Moses.
He was so committed that the Bible says in Joshua 1:1 Now after the death of Moses the Servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying,
Let me give you a brief illustration; one of my sons was transferred to one of the Continents far from here. And when the People in that Nation want to call him, they nicknamed him Pastor “Daddy said.”
Because no matter what you say or your argument is, he will simply say, “But my Daddy said…” That’s how committed he was.
And the People called him Pastor “Daddy said!”
That’s the kind of Servant of God Joshua was.
That tells us one thing, in 1 Corinthians 4:2, the Bible says, Moreover it is required in Stewards, that a man be found faithful.
Several years ago I wanted to send someone to a Nation far away. And it required someone who would make it easy for me not to go and inspect the place.
And I remembered someone who will do whatever I say to the letter – Someone who was so confident; that no matter how much he thought I was wrong, he had the confidence it will be the right thing to do.
I called him and I said, I needed someone to go to a very far away place; someone I can trust absolutely. I will love to send you there.
Because it’s far, I’ll give you the opportunity to Pray about it.
He smiled and said, what an honour! There’s no need to Pray: at least you trust me to want me to go.
Can God trust you: that it doesn’t matter how great the Preachers there may know Greek and Hebrew, you would be absolutely faithful when it comes to Preaching His Word?
That’s going to be required of you:
Because when you begin to move Mountains you might become a bit “Big” in your own eyes.
You might begin to think you can do those things a little better than the One who sent you.
Consider your level of Faithfulness if you are going to be a Mountain Mover.
- Joshua was a Warrior
When you read Joshua 5:13-16 the Bible says:
And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant? And the captain of the LORD’s host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.
When he saw an Angel of the Lord standing with his sword drawn; as soon as Joshua saw him, he drew his own sword and said to the Angel, “Are you for is us or against us?
He was committed to his Assignment, that he was ready to fight an Angel.
There will be People along this journey who would be devils Pretending to be Angels – You must be ready to fight them.
There are those trying to convince you against even taking the Narrow Way – You must be willing to fight!
In 1 Timothy 6:12, the Bible says, Fight the good fight of Faith, lay hold on Eternal Life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many Witnesses.
You cannot be a Mountain Mover if you are not ready to fight.
In the Name that’s above every other name, in every form of fight that will come your way, you will win – Amen.
- Joshua was what you want to call a Divine “Yes Man”.
He does not query God – Very important!
There’s another ‘Yes Man” we will talk about tomorrow; his name is Elijah – Whatever God says, no matter how ridiculous it may sound, as soon as he is sure who is speaking, it is Yes Lord!
In the Morning we said it is important that you hear from God yourself.
And if you have not been hearing from God, one more time I Pray for you, before tomorrow Morning you will be hearing from Him – Amen.
Because when you read Joshua 6:1 to the end, the Bible says:
And ye shall compass the City, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days. And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.
You might not understand the importance of why Joshua and his People needed to obey those instructions – There are times when it is difficult to be quiet;
- Particularly when being misunderstood.
- When you know that People have come to a conclusion contrary to what you meant.
- When what you said is being misinterpreted.
To be quiet when you can speak to justify yourself is not easy.
But if you begin to move Mountains, People will speak against you and you would wish you could speak, and your Commander-In-Chief, the Almighty God will say, Shut your mouth! And you will only be able to speak when He allows you – which may take a long time.
Let me give you one illustration: When I became General Overseer, my father-in-the-Lord said in his Will said that I will not do anything without the consent of the Governing Council.
You would say, that’s easy.
It is easy if out of about twelve (12) Members, nine (9) are against you, and they have decided they will not agree to anything you say.
And you go to meet with them saying: To move this Organization forward, this is what we have to do.
When you ask why, they say you are a University Lecturer using your wisdom.
And you want to explain, but God says, shut your mouth! It’s not easy. Because it is coming your way and you have to be ready.
When God says, shut your mouth, what should you do? I’ll Shut my mouth!
Imagine the Army of Jericho watching from the wall, seeing the Army of Israel walking like “Mumu” (DMC NOTES: Mumu means a fool) not saying a word; jeering at them, “you have become dumb.” And they can’t reply, from the first day to the sixth day. And at the end of the seventh day they came out to watch.
And this time around, God tells them to walk round the wall seven times before He says, shout! (Hallelujah).
You must learn to be under that severe discipline.
I mean, I’ve told you the Story before: I was shuttling between Ilorin and Lagos in my first year as General Overseer. My family was at Ilorin. I would get to Ilorin on Sunday night, wait to do Digging Deep on Monday.
I was trying to go to Ilesha when the People from our Maternity said Sir, a woman came to deliver but she said she had made a Covenant with the devil that she will die. When they asked her why she came to deliver at our Maternity she said, it’s because I don’t want to die again.
Anyway, they asked me to come and Pray for her.
After Praying for the woman I left.
By Saturday, Brethren from Ilorin visited me, and they said Sir, shortly after you left, the woman gave birth. First baby came out, the second baby has refused to come, from Tuesday to Saturday.
They said the woman refused to go to the hospital. And we have Prayed all manner of Prayers without any change, which is why we have come to you, Daddy.
I was terrified but as General Overseer, I had to put up a bold face.
So I said to them, why did you come to Lagos? Who told you that the God in Ilorin is different from the God in Lagos?
Well, since you are already here, take soft drink and go back to Ilorin. Before you get home the second baby will come.
As soon as they left I ran upstairs, fell on my face and cried to God – Father, You said I should call upon you in the day of trouble and You will answer; today is the day of trouble.
God said to me, so you did not believe when you said before they get home the second baby will come? I said Lord, I believe. But I had to send them away so that I can call on You for help.
So you believe? Yes, Lord. And He said, if you believe go and eat.
In those days I fasted three (3) days before Service on Sunday. So I said Lord, I am fasting. You know today is Saturday. He said, if you believe, go and eat.
… When He gives you some Commandments that are difficult to believe, what should you do? Believe!
You better take note!
I ate, but like I’ve always said, I don’t know if the food went through my mouth or my nostrils. All I know is that I ate, just as He said.
And before they got home that day, the second baby came; and a third Baby too. Hallelujah.
How many of you believe it is going to be well with you? The DMC Family Members!
Joshua was a “Yes Man” – When God speaks he believed Him:
“I don’t know how the wall will fall, if He said it will fall, I believe Him.”
- Joshua was a very Sensitive Man.
And you must be sensitive to God if you want to be a Mountain Mover.
- Joshua Learnt from his mistakes
When you read Joshua 7:1-7, there is a lot of Lessons there to learn:
After the Victory in Jericho he came back; next he sent People to a City called Ai
The People came back and said, it is a very small City, we don’t need many People to conquer the City.
He made one major mistake – When it was time to destroy the wall of Jericho he was the Spy. In the case of Ai, he sent a Committee.
There’s a Lesson to learn there:
I. When it comes to hearing from God, when facing a great Assignment from God, don’t rely on Committee as they will fail you.
It may take you some time to learn that Lesson.
But the Elders have a saying, “No matter how rich you may be, you can’t ask your servant to go to the toilet for you.”
Is that true? Yes, Sir!
There are certain Assignments you cannot delegate – And Prayer is one of such Assignments.
Oh! It is wonderful to have Prayer Warriors but when it comes to Prayer Warriors, that is you!
There’s a room in all the Auditoriums with just one Prayer Warrior – That’s me.
Why? Because if all goes well;
And it will go well, in Jesus’ Name – Amen.
If everything is well the People rejoice.
So I have to Personally Pray to God, alone.
If anything goes wrong (and God forbid) who is going to carry the Problem? Only one fellow – me.
I remembered one occasion I was Praying in the Prayer Room and I fell asleep. When I woke up it was raining.
Someone said, how can this happen, what is the General Overseer doing?
When I heard that, I said, “he was sleeping.” Thank You Jesus!
But I turned to God and said, I was Praying and fell asleep, what happened?
God told me :that the heat is becoming too much, I need to cool this place. And I know you won’t allow me, that’s why I caused you to fall asleep.
When the fellow confronted me on why I fell asleep, I told him I needed Strength.
Because the Bible says they that wait on God renew their Strength.
And we laughed!
But the truth is there; There are certain things you do not delegate – No. 1 on the list is Prayer. You are the best Prayer Warrior.
Do I hear an Amen?
So Joshua was the spy at Jericho, but sent Committee in Ai.
The People he sent said, it’s a small Village you don’t need the help of God to take it.
Jesus Christ said, I am the Vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. (DMC NOTES: John 15:5)
There’s no Assignment so small to Perform without the help of God.
Why? Because without His help you cannot even breathe.
III. After Victory comes a Planned attack.
And then came the Victory in Jericho.
But with every Victory, there is always something the enemies will Plan – Keep that in mind; After every victory is a planned attack.
In the School of Disciples (SOD), you have learned that every Victory will be followed by attacks, that is why you as a Mountain Mover must remain in the alert after a Victory.
After the Victory in Jericho someone stole what should not have been stolen, and defeat came.
Joshua knew something was missing, hence he fell on his face and asked God “where have I gone wrong?”
God told him, someone has sinned and told him what to do before they can continue.
Read the whole Story:
- Achan was discovered as thief.
- They dealt with him immediately.
Which is what Ministers in the Redeemed Christian Church of God need to do afresh – You see, one man sinned, several Soldiers died; several women became widows, several children became orphans.
Why? Because of the sin of one man, Achan.
We need to take Stronger measures against sin.
If you notice anyone of us doing something contrary to our ways, Please report.
Because if any one sins or does something wrong, sooner or later the secret will be out.
If any one does something contrary to our ways of following God and it becomes known, we will all suffer as a result – all of us.
Because just one black sheep can tint all the efforts of the white sheep who are determined to live Holy and teach Holiness.
… I am going to ask you to say Amen to one Prayer:
All those People who want to destroy the reputation of the Church, if they don’t repent, may God uproot them – Amen!
Because when you see the way Joshua dealt with Achan, you will know the reason for that Prayer: After they stoned him, they burnt him. And they heaped a large amount of stones over the burial ground – It’s like saying: From death, to to death!
Because if we are going to finish this race:
And you will finish well, on Jesus’ Name – Amen.
☆ You must not tolerate sin – That’s very important.
When you get to Joshua 13:1, the Bible says, God spoke to Joshua: Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the LORD said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.
☆ You must always constantly ask yourself: How far am I from God?
Because there are so many of us who are already relaxed, thinking we’ve already done well. And without doubt, by the Grace of God, we have done well.
… One final thing about Joshua;
- He was a Family Man.
Because towards the very end of his Life, he made a Statement in Joshua 24:15, And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
If that man deserves respect, it is that he was a Family Man.
In 1 Timothy 3:4-5, the Bible says: One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in Subjection with all gravity; (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
You know why that is so important is found in 1 Samuel 2:30 – There was a great Man of God called Eli.
Oh! He was so great that God said himself and his father’s house shall be serving God for ever. But at the end God said, I change mind:
Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
If you don’t take good care of your children, the Almighty God who gave Destiny may say, I cancel it.
As for Joshua it is recorded that all his children served the Lord.
In the Morning (DMC NOTES: Day 2 Morning Session); I told you that one Mountain you should deal with is your Personal Mountain.
The second Mountain is the Mountain in your Home.
If you do not get every Member of your family surrendered to Christ, then don’t talk about moving Mountain from anybody – Begin work on every child, every grandchildren in your family.
Because if Mountain number one is in you; which is in easy to deal with; just make up your Mind the devil does not attack your family at whatever cost.
Which means that you must reach a solid Agreement with God.
I Pray for you, God will never fight you – Amen.
So deal with your Personal Mountain and the Mountain in your Family.
Beginning from tonight, you must device a means by which your children and grandchildren become Children of God.
Because if they are not saved, they may lead to the truncation of your Destiny.
Let me Pray for you: Any Mountain that will stand between you and God must move now – Amen.
I will encourage you to Pray seriously about that tonight.
