Goliath is an epitome of Pride. At the first sight of David, it was recorded that he despised him. He was amazed that the children of Israel could find no man to fight him but a little boy. As if that was not enough, Goliath did not see any conventional weapon of war on David. That was what led him to ask the question that am I a dog.

As someone who plans to go far in life therefore, we must learn never to underestimate your friends talkless of your enemies. The truth of the matter is that a small snake can be full of potent poison. In the book of Joshua 7: 2-6, it was recorded that after the fall of Jericho, Joshua relaxed; thinking that since they can pulled down the mighty wall of Jericho and take over the city, then a small town like Ai would take them just a stroll to pass through. He underestimated the strength of the enemy and he was thought a bitter pill of lesson with the lost thirty six (36) men in the process as well.

The truth of the matter is that any man that is over-confident will fall like a pack of card. Pride they say goes before a fall. Sadly however, there is a thin line of difference between self-confidence and over-confidence and so we need to be very careful so as not to fall for it as it leads to Pride in the life of a man. It was the same over-confidence that destroyed Samson totally and even lost his life in the process in Judges 16: 6-30. Or how else will you fathom the response of his when Delilah asked him about the secret of his strength and how he would be bounded and tormented.

Little wonder the Bible warned us to be careful of little foxes in Song of Solomon 2: 15 – these are things we thought are not very important and insignificant in our life. For example a little indulgence in something bad can cost you so much in life if you are not careful!

Back to the Goliath story, he came to the battle with swords, bow and arrow while David came in the Name of the Lord of Hosts. One of them said he will do it on his own accord while the other said that the Lord will do it for him. We are all living witnesses to the man that won at the end of the day!

Goliath never thought that David could come near him talkless of defeating him. Many of us boast that nothing can stop us from attaining the pinnacle of our career in life and so we tend to be careless, relax and thus become over-confident (Pride). Most times…this kind of people ends up as the greatest flop!

Friends, flee from every spirit of pride if you want to make it big in life and end well.

… The Lord will “Help” us all in Jesus Name!

In 2Kings 6: 24-31; the city of Samaria was under siege by the Syrian army and so they are deprived access to fresh food supplies. After they have exhausted the food they had with them, there was definitely no way for them to bring in more foods and a fall out from this is that the famine was such rife to the extent that the Israelites began to eat unclean animals and to practice cannibalism. However when God personally resolved Himself to intervene in this dire state of affairs, nothing whatsoever could stop Him.

From the account of the famine we just described above, it simply shows that there is no kind of famine no matter how grievious it may be that cannot be reversed within twenty four (24) hours. A song writer wrote that “It’s always darkest before the dawn”.

The truth of the matter is that most times things had to get to the point of it being at the most unbearable level of severity before the much desired turn-around takes place.
Are you going through any form of famine in your life? Does it seem so big that you doubted if it can ever be resolved? The Chief Financial Adviser in Samaria assumed same as you by saying “Can this thing come to past even if God opened the window of the Floodgate of Heaven?”

Friends, the Lord will turn-around your problems within a twinkle of an eye. You shall go to bed and by the time you wake up, the famine will be over. Infact, the famine will abruptly come to an end that you will look around but will not find any sign that it ever existed in the first place.

Most importantly from the account of the Samarians above, we can see that the word of Prophesy preceded the turn-around. Friends, that same Word of Prophesy has come to you this Month. Our Daddy in the Lord, Pastor E.A Adeboye has released the mindset of God to us that we are about to experience “The Floodgates of Heaven” being opened to us. Do you believe him? Usually, God’s Word of Prophesy usually goes ahead of what God is about to do. So rejoice and be of good cheers friends!

Finally, the account of the story above will not be completed without acknowledging the instrument that God used to initiate the turn-around. God used the four (4) lepers to terminate the famine in Samaria. You can never tell who God has designed to terminate the famine that you are experiencing. He may decide to use those that you have regarded as useless in your mind. No one is useless in God’s hands.

I have a Good News for a reader of this production that the Lord is set to turn-around your famine this Month and beyond!

The Season we are in now is a period that coincides with the birth of the Son of God and Saviour of the world – JESUS CHRIST!

In Luke 2:7-14, there was an account of a group of Shepherds receiving the News of this Great and Historic event. After the joyful news was released to them the shepherds saw a multiple of Angelic Host praising God. They had no choice than to follow suit and then traced the footsteps to the baby Jesus Christ.

The following events are worth mentioning at this crucial moment of the Epic Event that happened:

1. While the shepherds watched, they received Angelic visitations. Hebrew 1:13-14 says Angels are Ministering Spirits sent to minister to those in need of salvation. Angels are very powerful beings and an example of Heavenly visitations.

When Heaven visits the earth, Angels are released to strengthened, encouraged and Open Doors. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ this season, Heaven will visit your own earth and you will benefit from such visitations in ways beyond your wildest human understandings and comprehensions.

1. Another thing that happened was that the Glory of God shone around those visited. Friends, it is an amazing and desirable thing for God’s Glory to shine on you. This season, God’s glory will shine on you and your family. Jesus is the light of men who dispels every form of darkness (John 1:4-5). 1Timothy 6:16 says that God dwells in unapproachable light. However, on that very fateful night that Heaven visited the earth and by extension the shepherds, the unapproachable became approachable. Friends, as the Heaven visits the earth once again in this festive season, every form or manner of hindrance to your breakthrough in life will be removed and you will possess your possessions in Jesus Mighty Name.
2. Aside this, the Angels began to speak to them and say: “FEAR NOT”. Many people have been battling with so much fear in their life and this has affected the kind of progress they should have gotten in life. I have Good News for you friends even as you approach this uncommon festive season. Is there any area of your life that you have been battling with fear and concluded that your strength cannot carry you through again? The Lord asked me to tell you to “FEAR NOT.” He will for sure sustain you and carry you through by His own strength.

The truth of the matter is that: “every daily effort you fail to make use of gradually erodes your position in life”.

…The choice is therefore yours…”So PAY THE PRICE!”

Right back from the time of creation, man has been endowed with so many promises, potentials and innumerable number of blessings. It is however quite sad that they are yet to have any commensurable results to show for such immense endowments from God. An average man can therefore be simply viewed as being so fully loaded but yet a gross under-achiever in life – even as we speak, they are not able to break away from this ugly trend of event of things till date sadly.

The question that will readily therefore come to the mind of an agitated mind is: “What reason(s) can be adduced or attributed for this monumental evident of failure by Man?

Obviously the reason(s) may not be far- fetched: Man is sowing into an unfertile land that is just too dry and hard for any seed to break-forth out successfully no matter the kind of efforts expended by the man. One basic truth of life is that every breakthrough efforts that Men had devised require breaking up of a “Fallow Ground”. As human being, we all have “Fallow Grounds” that needs to be broken, lands that need to be possessed, songs that need to be sung, poetries that need to be recited, books that need to be read or written, projects that need to be initiated and business that need to be incorporated before there can be the Beginning of Increase in the life of such a Man!
To break-forth your “Fallow Ground” however you must do the following: stir up that hidden quest inside of you, step up to attain Greater and New Heights, Open and create New Door Opportunities and then find/embrace better alternatives which can all be achieved mostly by clinging squarely to God Almighty.

As you commence the New Year, it is time that you follow a New Path of Life and allows God to lead and guide you to your Promised-Land.

To achieve this however, all you need do is to make “Positive Confessions” of all those Good Things that you desire in the New Year. Also, begin to think of “New Solutions” to pending problems around you – shift your focus from the “good-old-days” but set your affections on “better-days-ahead”.

More than ever before, make personal resolutions that as from today you will cease to sow your seeds in the wrong places (rocky or thorny grounds) but rather on good loamy soils.

… By so doing, you will surely become a “Beautiful Fruitful Garden” like the Garden of Eden that God planted Himself. And ultimately, your life and destiny will change significantly to God’s Glory all through the course of the New Year and beyond!

Friends….the choice of what you want is definitely yours….

Testimony is something that is very vital and important in Christendom to stir up the faith of someone in the Church. We thank God for the commencement of yet another Calendar Month and another wonderful time to appreciate God for His Faithfulness over our life.

What then is a Testimony?

A testimony is simply honouring the Lord by bearing open witness to others about His wonderful works in your own life to serve as encouragement to as many that are listening to you.
The Lord commends sharing testimonies throughout His Word, particularly in the book of Psalms. We continually read of the Psalmist promising to tell of the Greatness of the Lord “in the midst of the congregation.” Often, he asks the Lord to deliver him so that he can testify of God’s Salvation. So many of the Psalms exemplify this, but here are just a few examples: Psalm 22:22-24; 30; 32; 34; 71:14-24. In the New Testament as well, the Gospels and the Book of Acts provide us with a number of examples of men and women who testify about what Jesus had done for them: John 4:28-30; 9:8-25; Acts 4:13-22, Acts 22:1-21, etc. The saints in Revelation 12:10-11 are said to have overcome Satan “by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” Whatever the exact nature of this testimony, one thing that is sure that we know is that they were publicly identifying with Jesus Christ despite the opposition of Satan…Glory be to God!

One Principle that emerges across the pages of Scriptures is that one of God’s designs in saving us is that we will in turn honour Him by sharing our testimony with others around us.

Testimonies make Gospel’s Truth take on flesh and blood status. It is one thing to hear a sermon on God’s grace in a Church; it is quite another thing to hear a brother or sister speak personally of his or her experience of God’s Grace in his or her life. Testimonies invigorate and excite us as we are reminded that God is alive and at work always in our midst – no matter the circumstance.

The one giving the Testimony is obeying the Lord by “telling about His greatness in the midst of the congregation.” His soul also receives the benefit of reflecting slowly and intentionally on God’s hand of Grace on his life from his earliest days until the moment such Testimony was shared openly. And to the believers hearing the Testimony; it is their open way of obeying the Lord by allowing their brother to testify to the Lord’s Grace and Goodness. They are serving their brother or sister by patiently and attentively listening and offering encouragement. These listeners… who are in turn stirred to Praise the Lord for his work in the life of the speaker, and are moved to reflect on God’s work in their own lives as well. In essence, Testimony has a beneficial factor to both the Giver and the Listener of the Testimony!

Aside all the aforementioned benefits inherent in the sharing of testimonies; it also serves to bind the church together, as we open up our lives to one another rather than keeping one another at a distance. To an unbeliever hearing/listening to such a testimony; they are of course pointed to Jesus Christ as the Living Saviour of sinners.

To link the word “Christian” to the word “testimony” is to narrow the focus of the testimony and who can give it. Only a Christian can give a “Christian testimony”. A Christian is one who has received forgiveness for sin by trusting alone in the person and work of Jesus Christ for that forgiveness always in his or her life.

A Christian testimony is given when Christians relate how we came to know the God of the Bible through the moving of the Holy Spirit in our hearts. Most commonly, we are sharing how we became Christians by God’s Miraculous intervention and work in our lives through specific events. Often we can only see that in hindsight, but sharing that experience is vital. Also, when giving this testimony, sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is always a necessity. Though we can include specific information about how we came to accept Christ as Saviour, those details should not be the focus of the testimony. The focus should be about the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

A Christian testimony should not end with the conversion experience, but should also include the ways in which the Lord has worked in our lives to sanctify us for His service. As an example, a testimony could include how He brought us through a difficult time in our life (such as a loss or some sort or a severe illness) and built our faith in Him through that experience. We should also be able to describe the continual process by which the Spirit who now indwells in us leads, guides, moulds and shapes us into mature Christians. Again, the focus should be on the Lord and His faithfulness, and should include at least one verse that speaks of that faithfulness

In this Month of September 2016, kindly rejoice because God is putting “TESTIMONIES” in the mouth of someone as from now on in Jesus Mighty Name!

If you are asked to share your testimony, you will not be able to say all that could be said about God’s work in you over the course of your entire life. So what should you focus on? Here are a few guidelines that will help you as you are preparing:

1. Take time to reflect on how God’s hand of Providence can now be more clearly seen as you look back on your life. How was the Lord at work in bringing you to Himself from your childhood up to now?
2. Speak honestly about coming to an awareness of your sin, your neediness, and how you were brought to repentance by God’s Grace (i.e., don’t stand up and say, “I’ve always been a good person”). But this does not mean dragging listeners through the mud of a detailed account of your sins. The goal is not to see how “dramatic” your testimony can be; any previously dead sinner who is now alive in Christ has a plenty dramatic testimony. (Ephesians 2:1-10)
3. Speak about your coming to faith in Jesus Christ. Who did the Lord use in your life as influences to point you to Jesus Christ? If you can pinpoint a certain moment of conversion, then talk about that. If you cannot pinpoint a certain time, then leave it.
4. Speak about your life since you began following Jesus. What have been some of the major milestones along the way, whether struggles or victories? How does believing the Gospel continue to impact your life daily?
5. Speak about God’s on-going work in your life right now. What is He teaching you? How is He challenging you? What role does the Church play in your life? Recount it!
6. Remember that Jesus should be the hero of your Testimony. Above all, point the listeners to God and His Grace, and not to yourself. Don’t focus on your old life of sin so much or your new life of obedience so much, that Jesus Christ will be overshadowed.

The choice is surely yours….choose wisely!

The laws of nature do not care whether you accept it or not. It does not care whether you are a christian or muslim, man or woman, fair or dark as it applies equally to all human being.

No matter how hard and long you pray, if you jump from a 10 storey building, you will not float. The best thing that can happen to you, is that you will book a very quick appointment to heaven. Why you may want to ask? The law of gravity must apply to you, irrespective of your faith.

So life is governed by laws, which great men somehow manage to discover on their own, or work in line with it, even if they are oblivious to the law.

The following 3 laws are absolutes, and it will do you well to learn and practice them.

1. The Law of Association

The people you associate with on a daily basis, are going to have the greatest effect on what you become in the next 10 years. If they are fools, then you will be a fool soon. If they are millionaires, you will be a millionaire soon. if they are leaders, you will soon be in a leadership position. Wherever they are aiming now, will soon be your destination.

It is a very simple law, and that is why many people overlook it. It is the easiest law to apply, yet very few people apply it consciously. The vast majority of people called the “masses”, just flow with anyone around them, irrespective of their morals, so they end up being like everyone.

Please dear, check out every great man or woman, and you discover, that they were hanging out with each other, long before they became wealthy.

Bill Gates, Paul Allen and Steve Ballmer, were school mates, and fellow pranksters, long before Microsoft, Today they are all billionaires. Mike Adenuga (GLO), Orji Uzor Kalu and Aliko Dangote, where young friends, long before they became billionaires.

Don’t play with the law of association, or it will play with you. Take time to assess where your current friends are heading, and if it is not where you wish your life to go, JUMP ship at once, and find another boat !

1. The Law of CANEI

Nobody will ever become great in life, without practising this second law. Whether they are aware of it or not, this law is another absolute law, and if you put it to practice, I can guarantee 99%, that once there is life, you will be a great person.

They say that Nature abhors Vacuum, but there is something else that nature abhors, and that is Permanence.

In life, nothing is permanent. Everything is constantly moving.

The only thing that is permanent is change. Now if you park your car and leave it untouched for long, its condition will not be permanent, it will start depreciating.

Anything left unused, begins to depreciate. If you don’t exercise, your muscle starts depreciating.

CANEI stands for Constant And Never Ending Improvement.

This philosophy is ingrained in the Japanese culture. The Japanese understood that the only way to excel, is through constant and daily improvement, and thus it is not surprising that although Japan is virtually without any mineral resource, yet, it is the 3rd biggest economy in the world today.

Anyone who wishes to excel, must understand the law of CANEI, the moment you stop improving any area of your life, you will immediately start depreciating in that area.

If you see a lawyer who does not constantly study and update himself or herself with the latest happenings in the legal world, you are looking at a charge and bail lawyer. A doctor that quits studying, can never be a consultant, and may continue to inflict unnecessary pain and suffering on his patients, because of his refusal to update his skills. (Do you know that some surgeries can now be conducted without actually cutting someone open and the patient can walk home the same day?) .

How does this law apply to me and you?

To excel in life, you must continue to be a student. Successful people continue learning new things, unsuccessful people think that they know it all. You must continue to seek new knowledge in your area, you must continue to read books, attend seminars, and take courses in the area of your business.

Can you imagine a top footballer, who decides to stop practicing for one year!

But that is exactly what most people do. Because they are now working or doing business, they decide that they no longer need to study further or improve their skills.

Do you know that even till date, the richest man in the world for over 20 years now, Bill Gates, still reads one new book every week of his life? When was the last time you read a full book?

If you are opportuned to mingle with most top self-made billionaire, you will notice that they are always running from one workshop to the other, from one training to the other, and ironically, their teachers and coaches are not even as wealthy as they are. But they never underestimate the power of kn

So, start applying the law of CANEI, remember that nature abhors permanence, if you are not moving forward, don’t think that you are standing still. No one stands still. It’s either you are moving forward or you are moving backwards.

Keep learning, practicing and sharpening your skills. Keep reading and studying. If you are a sports man, practice every single day. Better still, don’t be penny wise and pound foolish, pay a coach to push you every single day. That is the only way elite sports men are made.

No great man ever became great without practicing the principles of CANEI, whether he knows about it or not.

And for every one out there, never stop improving. In whatever you do, find a way to learn one thing new about it every day. Before long, you will be among the top in your chosen career.

1. THE LAW OF GROWTH

Legal luminaries will tell you that ignorance is not an excuse in matters of law. Same applies to laws of nature. That you didn’t go to school, and therefore ignorant of the law of gravity, will not save you, if you mistakenly fell from a 10 storey building.

The reason for great frustration among youths, is usually because they fail to understand and work in line with the law of growth. It has also led to the death of many magnificent dreams, because the dream bearer never learnt the law of growth.

No child can run without first walking, or walk without first crawling. Many people are trying to reverse that natural law of growth, because they aspire very high, but are not willingly to start very small. BUT everything in this realm must obey the law of growth or die.

If you need the greatest oak tree, you first have to plant the smallest acorn, Just as you can’t go to University without first passing through secondary school, nor can you go through secondary school without passing through the primary school.

Understanding and following the law of growth is absolutely essential to your success.Stop living in fantasy island. Stop chasing an illusion that is destroying your financial livelihood.

“He who works his land will have abundant food,
but he who chases fantasies lacks judgement.” Proverbs 12:11.

YOU NEED SMALL VICTORIES TO PROPEL YOU TO THE BIGGER NUMBERS.

You see, nature teaches us that all things must advance step-by-step. Plants know it in their DNA, thus no seedling is frustrated that it is not yet an IROKO tree tomorrow, It will patiently wait 30 years to grow, while all the time spreading it’s roots into the deepest subsurface, in search of ground water to sustain it in all seasons. Great men know this by instinct, and are not frustrated that they are not billionaires tomorrow. They just put in the hours every single day working on their “tap roots”, deepening it everyday, for the days of growth ahead.

The secret behind the Law of Growth is that you must first learn how to make
N1000, N5000, or N10,000 before you try to make N100,000. Once you can achieved it is called your first ‘Financial Victory’, it will be one of the most important events in your entrepreneurial life! The Law of Growth is a MUST for your entrepreneurial success.

This is not in any way discouraging you from aiming for the stars, Aim high, but start small. There is a point where we can be aiming so far above our current abilities that we are doing ourselves more harm than good. It will make us to do things and spend what we can’t afford, because we are hoping for this great result, as such destroying our finances instead of building it.

You destroyed the little finance you already had, because you start living in fantasy island. Instead of thinking big and starting small, you thought big, and also started big. That is a recipe for bankruptcy ! When you show diligence in small things, then you are worthy and prepared to be set over many, this is a wisdom of the ages.

Everyday, I see the lack of understanding of this law, destroying destinies and homes. People struggling to live a lifestyle they are not yet up to, thus destroying their current finances and making it harder to succeed.

So why are successful people not teaching this law, even though they know it from experience?
Because that is not what many people want to hear. And because it is boring. Every one wants to hear that you will breakthrough the next month, and that blinds the masses to the incredible power of the law of growth.

If you fail to start applying this law today, you may regret it later in life. Start now and see your life grow steadily.

But Youths, remember this, crime does not pay.

What you need to do as a young man, is to invest in developing yourself. You will come to a point, when you will realize that the wealth you are looking for, is right within you, and no matter where you are in the world, you will never be desperate.

I think a word is enough for the wise. You can bring a camel to the stream, but drinking from it, is entirely the camel’s decision. I will leave you with one last advice. Seek wisdom and understanding. Wisdom is the principal thing. Wisdom is not just knowledge, but applied knowledge.

Have you ever thought about how many people who tried to stop Jesus’ life, death and resurrection, whether for good or bad? Some wanted Jesus dead, and they thought His words were blasphemous. Others looked out for their own interest and rule, but there were some who wanted to protect Jesus—and they were distraught at His death.

But God is sovereign over all, and He knew the path that His Son must follow in order to save mankind once and for all.

Here are five (5) actors who tried to stop Jesus’ life, death, or resurrection and failed according to God’s plan:

1. King Herod: The Paranoid Manipulator.

King Herod and many of the people he governed did not want to welcome a new King. Herod feared for his throne, and his people feared his vengeance. Once Herod learned information about the Messiah from the wise men, he asked them to go search for the new born King and return with news of the exact location of the new born king so that he too could worship the King.

But being warned in a dream, the wise men travelled home a different way. Then Herod in his anger and paranoia decided to take matters into his own hands and tried to kill every Hebrew baby boy that fit the age range of the Messiah.

“Then Herod he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem and in all the coasts thereof from two years old and under, accordance to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.” – Matthew 2:16

But God sent an angel to warn Joseph in a dream, and he took Mary and Jesus to safety in Egypt. Herod failed to stop the Messiah, and God’s sovereign plan for His Son continued.

1. Satan:

The Evil Deceiver
Satan tried to stop God’s plan by tempting Jesus with empty promises and bribes that he could not fulfill. Jesus, both fully divine and fully human, experienced temptation as a man the same way that we do, but He did not yield or sin.

“Again, the devil taketh Him up into an exceeding high mountain and showeth Him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them. And said unto Him: ‘All these things will i give you, if thou will fall down and worship me.’ Then said Jesus unto him, ‘Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, thou shalt Worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth Him …” – Matthew 4:8-11

Can you imagine the fury Satan felt when Jesus remained strong in His choice to choose us—even to death? Though the Bible does not tell us, I think it is plausible to think that Satan was there at the crucifixion. We know he entered Judas Iscariot; Luke 22:3-4 says, “Then entered Satan, into Judas, surname Iscariot, being of the number of the Twelve. And he went his ways, and communed with the chief priests and captains how he might betray Him unto them.”

If he couldn’t stop God’s ultimate plan, he surely wanted to cause as much pain and havoc as he could while the Messiah suffered on earth. Satan failed, and not only did he lose the battle…he lost the war. God’s plan prevailed unhindered as prophesied.

1. The Sanhedrin/Chief Priests: Wickedly Insecure Men

The Sanhedrin was the supreme council of the Jewish people in the time of Christ and earlier.

“The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death.”

They really didn’t like Jesus and their desire was to trap Him into what they considered blasphemy. They already had it set in their minds that they would find a way to execute Him.

“When the morning was come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death. And they bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor.” – Matthew 27:1-2.

And they didn’t stop there.

“But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitude that they shoulf ask Barabbas and destroy Jesus.” – Matthew 27:20

They wanted Jesus dead, and they succeeded as God had planned. But they failed in thinking that they were in control; they had no power when it came to Jesus’ life, death, or resurrection…the power and plan was God’s alone. They could not stop the resurrection, nor could they stop the news of it. The tomb was found empty; death could not hold Him. He is risen indeed (Halleluyah).

1. Simon Peter: The Brave Defender.

Then Simon Peter having a sword tried to stop Jesus from being taken by the Roman guards. He succeeded in cutting off the ear of the high priest’s servant before Jesus stopped him.

John 18:10-11 says:

“Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it, and smote the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear (The servant’s name was Malchus). Then said Jesus unto Peter, ‘Put up thy sword into thy sheath; the cup which my Father has given me shall I not drink it?”

“Thinketh thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and He shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the Scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?” – Matthew 26:53-54

Can you imagine how hard it must have been for the disciples to accept that Jesus must die to fulfill His plan as Messiah—and that there was nothing they could do to help or stop it? They did not fully understand yet why Jesus must die, and they doubted before they saw Him again. Peter failed to protect the Messiah and save Him from the cross, but later he understood that it wasn’t Jesus who needed saving. Oh what grace God bestows on us.

1. Pontius Pilate: The Reluctant Judge.

Even Pilate’s wife tried to dissuade him from crucifying Jesus: “When Pilate was sitting on the judge’s seat, his wife sent him this message: ‘When he was set down on the judgement seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, have thou nothing to do with that jus man; for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of Him.’” – Matthew 27:19

Let’s reflect on all the roles played by all these actors and begin to imagine all what God had to allow to happen to His Only begotten Son as we continue in this Easter period celebrations.

The reason for the Season quite so much outweighs the way most of us handled the Season.

The subject of wealth and riches is a sensitive one to many people. Most of us have been trained wrongly to view wealth from a negative light.

And the mentality of our parents in those days was that those who drove expensive cars then, were either armed robbers or ritualist.

I have read so many stories of great American industrialists like John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, Cornelius Vanderbilt, and the young Bill Gates and Steve Jobs.

It was Andrew Carnegie that finally taught me what true wealth really is. Andrew is the second richest man in the history of America, after John D. Rockefeller. He is worth an estimated $309 billion dollars (By comparison, the richest man today, Bill Gates is worth $89 billion ) .

In his book, “The Gospel of Wealth”, which i read, I learnt that the true meaning of wealth and I was forever free from the subconscious stigmatization of wealth, that has held many people in poverty.

What exactly did I learn from Andrew Carnegie?

Wealth is not evil. Money is not the root of all evil (even the bible supports this fact).

Wealth actually is Service.

Wealth is an indices that shows how much Service you have rendered to the society.

Remember, I am talking about “True Wealth”, not stolen money.

The more Services you render, the more the society will pay you.

To make wealth in the right way, is a noble thing. When I see an entrepreneur who is worth 100s of millions, my interest is, what kind of Services is this person providing to the society.

When you begin to see wealth in this light, you will start removing all the negative stereotypes regarding wealth that we were taught either by our parents, or by certain religious beliefs.

Christianity teaches us of Abraham as one of the wealthiest men of his time. What of Job who suffered terribly, but God later blessed him with great wealth and of course there is Solomon.

According to the Holy Book, Solomon never even asked for wealth, he only asked for wisdom.

So if wealth is evil, why did God decide to bless Solomon above every man of his time?

I think that it is the devil who makes our young ones to believe that it is the devil that gives wealth. That is a big lie from the devil himself. The devil only comes to steal, to kill and to destroy. He does not give True Wealth.

Bill Gates gave us Microsoft and the ability for everyone to have a computer in his house. In return, all of us paid him $89 billion dollars for his effort. Steve Jobs gave us Apple, ipod, iphone etc and all of us all over the world, combined to pay his company “APPLE INC” over $600 billion dollars in cash.

Mike Adenuga introduced per second billing in GSM, we decided to keep paying him billions of naira every year, as long we recharge our Glo sim cards.

South African Billionaire Christo Wiese, gave us Shoprite, and the love of “swag” shopping, and in return we are “swagging” and “shopping” and paying him billions of dollars every year.

So please let’s stop deceiving ourselves. True Wealth is a measure of the kind of value a person gives to the society. The reward for your services, is what society calls your wealth indices.

Our youths must discard the idea that the devil gives wealth. It is a lie.

A man’s gift makes way for him.

Any man who is diligent with the works of his hands, he will sit with Kings and with Princes and not with mean men.

Stop looking for ritual money, it is fake. Don’t go and take someone’s life in the name of rituals. The devil will only use this means to take your soul and ensure that you will never have peace of mind.

Notice that we talked about wealth, not money. Money is just an aspect of wealth. Wealth is much more than just money.

Other components of wealth are: Peace of Mind, Health, Love etc.

If the devil takes your Peace of Mind and your Health, you can never be wealthy, no matter how much money you have.

If you doubt it, let me give you hundred million naira, but also give you a disease that will forcefully shut your anus. Before two (2) weeks is over, if you are still alive, you will be begging any doctor to collect the hundred million naira, and just open your anus…lols.. Just an illustration, but that is exactly what the devil can do.

Never seek for wealth through evil means – whether it is rituals, evil cults, kidnapping, armed robbery, yahoo yahoo, etc.

If you do, you may get money, but you will never get Wealth.

Remember this, “True Wealth” is as a consequence of the Services you render to the society. Find something you can do, that will benefit others, and find a way to benefit as many people as you can with your Services, and you will be Wealthy.
