TOPIC: THE DUTIES OF THE MOTHER IN RAISING EXCELLENT CHILDREN

BIBLE TEXT: PSALM 127:3
Let Somebody shout Hallelujah – Hallelujah.
Do we have Mothers in the house?
Do we have Future Mothers in the house?
Do we have People born of women in the house?
Wherever you are right now or reading this Message now on the Label of DMC, lift up your hands and shout Hallelujah – Hallelujah.
Mothers in the house, Please lay your hands on your head and say: In the Mighty Name of Jesus, I will not bring forth for trouble.
That will be your Portion in the Mighty Name of Jesus – Amen!
I’ll like to appreciate the Almighty God, for the Grace He has given to every one of us to be here tonight, including those of you reading now on the Label of DMC
May the Name of the Lord be Praised forever, in Jesus’ Name – Amen.
I’ll like to appreciate my Daddy and Mummy, for the Grace of God upon their lives; and for their great Sacrifices over us, and for Praying for us always.
I want to Pray that in the Mighty Name of Jesus, the Lord will continue to Strengthen you – Amen.
And every one of us, your Children, will bring Joy unto you, in Jesus’ Name – Amen.
I’ll like to appreciate all our fathers and mothers, who have been assisting Daddy G.O and lifting up his hands.
The Lord will bless you all, in Jesus’ Name.

OPENING PRAYER
Ancient of Days, we are here to say Thank You.
We are here to Thank You because You have been taking Good care of us.
Father Lord, we Thank You because from the time we were in our mothers’ wombs You were taking care of us.
Lord, this day we are Praying for the Power and Grace that mothers need to do our duties as You have given us the ability.
We Pray that You will give us today, in the Name of Jesus.
We Pray that we will not disappoint You.
In Jesus’ Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.
I’ll like to welcome all Mother’s in the house, including those reading now on the Label of DMC, to this moment of Transformation.
- This a Day of Destiny Restoration;
- It is a Night of Rebirth of Purpose.
I Pray for all Mothers in the house, including those reading now on the Label of DMC; and as many mothers who are going to be intentional as from today; The Power to fulfil your Purpose as Godly mothers, the Lord will release unto you, in the Name of Jesus – Amen.
Our Anchor Bible Text is Psalm 127:3:
Lo, children are a Heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
What this Verse is telling us is that the children in your care and custody are not yours; they belong to God.
And this is why God is telling us tonight that we are just Caretakers.
He has placed a huge responsibility to cherish and raise these Heritage in our care.
SO WHO IS A MOTHER?
When we talk about Motherhood, it is not limited to Biology.
Which means it is not only Biological; being a mother is more than giving birth to a child.
- It is also by Adoption.
- By the virtue of Relationship.
- By the virtue of Mentoring.
- By the virtue of being a Spiritual cover over the People.
All of these have the role of Motherhood.
And it is the Will of God for us to take full responsibility in the way we handle these Godly Heritage in our hands.
WHO ARE EXCELLENT CHILDREN?
- Excellent Children are God’s Children who continually strive to be better Versions of themselves on a daily basis, until they Stand Out and become the best.
I’ll like to say, in the Mighty Name of Jesus, your Children will Stand Out – Amen.
- Excellent Children do not drop from Heaven; they are the Product of Intentional Parenting.
Especially on the side of mothers who decide to Partner with God in bringing up Godly Children.
SPECIFIC DUTIES OF MOTHERS IN RAISING EXCELLENT CHILDREN
We are going to be looking at Specific Duties of Mothers; in Raising Excellent Children:
- Nurturing:
The major duty of a Mother is to nurture.
God did not make any mistake by giving women wombs to nurture.
God Specifically gave mothers womb, so that we can nurture His Heritage very well.
I will like you to note that there is a Particular void in the Life of a Child that only the mother can fill up; and it cannot be delegated.
We have example in the lives of Lois, the grandmother of Timothy; and Eunice was the mother of Timothy.
The Bible says in 2 Timothy 1:5: When I call to remembrance the unfeigned Faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.
I Pray that will also be the Portion of our own Children, in the Mighty Name of Jesus – Amen.
Nurturing has to do with the ability to Cherish, Nourish, Discipline, Nurse, Tend, Rear, and Raise Godly Children.
The Power and the Ability to do this, the Lord will give to us, in the Mighty Name of Jesus – Amen.
We have the case of Hannah in 1 Samuel 2:21-28 – This woman did a very good job in raising her son Samuel. And God also commended her for doing a good job.
We have mentioned the case of Lois, the grandmother of Timothy; as well as Eunice, the mother of Timothy.
- Availability and Family Connection:
I am going to use the image of Mother Hen to explain this:
When you look at a mother hen, you will see that she is usually intentional.
- When she lays her eggs, she will want to brood over the eggs.
- She will disappear for twenty-one (21) days because she needs to give warmth to the eggs: so that the chicks that will come out will be very good and strong.
After the chicks have been birthed, the Mother hen will not leave the chicks. She will go out with them and fend for them to ensure that they are nourished.
As a mother, whatever you sow into the lives of your Children, you will reap – Amen.
It is when you are available that you can give the necessary support to your Children.
You have to be available to Provide Shelter, Food, and Emotional Support to your Children.
For example:
- Moses’ mother Jochebed, was available for Moses.
- Hagar did not allow Ishmael to die: She Prayed, and God showed up for her (DMC NOTES: Genesis 21:14-19)
I. If you don’t connect with your Children while they are growing, they will disconnect from you in your old age.
II. If you think your Children are burdens to you today, you will become a liability to them tomorrow.
III. If you refuse to bond with them now, they will be comfortable to drop you in the Old People’s Home when you need them most.
- Teaching and Training:
Proverbs 22:6 says, Train up a Child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Training is different from teaching.
When you train, you are intentional, and you Provide the basic things that the Child will need to grow and know how to do it.
When you are training, you are still going to teach.
During training, you allow your children to put their feet where you are putting yours, and they are going to learn very well.
I. We need to teach our Children to love God.
II. We need to teach them to be responsible unto themselves, the Society, and family.
III. We need to teach them Social Responsibilities, Social Skills, and Good Character.
- We must not be found raising invalid Children.
- We must not raise Children who cannot do anything by themselves.
- We must not raise Children who are not useful to themselves.
Not only must we raise Children who are Academically sound:
- We must also raise Children who are going to be Physically fit.
- Children who will be useful to their Environment and Society.
- Children who will be useful to their wives and husbands.
By doing that, God will be very Proud of us.
I. We have to teach them Hard Work.
II. We need to teach our Children Contentment, so that at the end of the day, they will be good Citizens.
III. We need to teach them Family Values.
Look at Jochebed, Moses’s mother:
It was from her that Moses heard that he is not an Egyptian, but a Hebrew. And he had that Identity and carried that Identity through his Lifetime.
Look at the children of Rechabites:
Their father gave them Values, and they followed the Values of their father. (DMC NOTES: Jeremiah 35:1-10)
- Children should be taught Social Skills;
- Good and Godly Character;
- And their responsibilities to Society.
- Being a Good Role Model to your Children:
The Bible says in Ezekiel 16:44, Behold, every one that useth Proverbs shall use this Proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.
You are the Signature of your Children.
If you want to know how well-behaved your children are, we need to look at you and your Life.
As a mother, you should Model the Character your Children should exhibit wherever they go.
Whatever Character you display will go to the Subconsciousness of your Children.
- If you are kind, your Children will be kind.
- If you are very mean, they will also be mean.
- If as a mother you don’t see anything wrong in wearing clothes that will show the sensitive parts of your body, your children will walk the street half-naked.
For example, Jezebel and Athaliah, her daughter: Athaliah Performed worse things than what the mother did. (DMC NOTES: 2 Kings 11:1-16)
- You must be a woman of the Altar:
The Bible says in Revelation 12:17, And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the Commandments of God, and have the Testimony of Jesus Christ.
The devil is waging war with our children and so you must be a mother who can Pray and shake the Heavens in order to take over your daughters and sons for the Lord. God is counting on you.
Isaiah 66:7 says, Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.
God is looking for mothers who can travail in the Place of Prayer and involve God in the matters of their Children.
The Power and the Grace to do this, the Lord will give to every one of us, in the Name of Jesus – Amen.
Be like Esther:
The Bible says in Esther 4:16, Go, gather together all the Jews that are Present in Shushan, and Fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my Maidens will Fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the King, which is not according to the Law: and if I Perish, I Perish.
If you are a woman of the Altar, you are not going to Perish, because God is going to answer you.
As a mother, you have the ability to speak into the lives of your Children.
Use that opportunity now and Prophecy into the lives of your Children wherever they are even as you read now on the Label of DMC!
Please rise up on your feet (if you can) as we Pray tonight.
GENERAL PRAYER
Mention the name(s) of your Children and Pray for them:
In the Name of Jesus, my Children will serve the Lord.
In the Name of Jesus, my Children will not forsake the God of their father.
In the Name of Jesus, my Children will not forsake the God that I know.
Do you have a Child who has a Problem?
Tell God about it today:
God, touch my son and daughter.
God touch the Children You have put into my care wherever they are.
Call them out from the Lions’ den and the Prison of the devil.
Mention their name(s) and call them out.
Call them out from the Stronghold of Addiction.
Father, I bend my knees as a mother, and I call forth my sons and daughters; I command them to come out in the Name of Jesus.
Thank You Father.
In Jesus’ Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.
CLOSING PRAYER
Father, we give You Praise.
Lord, we Thank You!
Blessed be Your Name.
We speak as mothers today and Plead the Blood of Mercy tonight:
We speak to the four corners of the Earth, using the Compassion of the Death of Jesus Christ;
And we recover every Child who is named after the Name of the Lord;
Every Child who has been taken Captive by Sexual Addiction, Drug and Substance Addiction.
Every Child who has gone into Depression, today we stand, Oh God of Heaven;
And we deliver them from every yokes of the devil.
In the Name of God the Father; in the Name of God the Son; in the Name of God the Holy Spirit – Amen.
Let somebody shout Hallelujah – Hallelujah.
