OPENING PRAYER

Father Almighty, we worship You, Ancient of Days we give You all the Glory, all the Honour, all the Adorations for yet another Sunday.

Thank You for Support, Thank You for Your Backing, Thank You for being there for us all the time. Father, Please accept our Thanks in Jesus Name.

Today, my Father and my God, as Your Children gather together to hear Your Words; we Pray that You will send Your Words to each and everyone of us and heal us Physically, Mentally, Spiritually and in every facets of our lives.

In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen!

Praise the Lord – Hallelujah!

Well, we are continuing with our Series on Going Higher as we move to Part 40.

And our Bible Text shall be taken from 1 Kings 18: 42-44

42. So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the Earth, and put his face between his knees,
43. And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.
44. And it came to Pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy Chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.

On this Part of our Study, it is going to take us quite a while.

We have already learnt a bit about Elijah “Going Higher” Still – Going to the Top of the Mountain; we have learnt a bit about him putting his face between his legs to Pray.

But now, we are discovering that when he Prayed the first time and there was nothing, he asked his Servant to keep going until the 7th time before the Servant said now I can see something.

The first thing that we want to look at from this Section of our Study is: What exactly are the seven (7) Prayers of Elijah because he Prayed seven (7) times before the Rain fell.

Well, the Bible has not recorded for us what he Prayed the first, second, third, until the seventh time but we could put two (2) and two (2) together and then be able to get at least a very Pretty accurate guess of his Prayers.

1. Without any doubt, I am confident that his first Prayer was a Prayer of Thanksgiving because some Miracles had just happened.

And in any case, the Bible says in Psalms 100:4 – We are to enter the Gate of the Most High with Thanksgiving in our heart.

And we should learn a Big Lesson from this because many of us have the custom of going straight into the the house of God, into the Presence of God demanding from God – Do this for me, do that for me et cetera et cetera. What about Thanking Him first for what He has done for you.

What is Thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving is appreciating God for what He has just done for you.

In Exodus 15: 1-21; when the children of Israel came out from the Red Sea and they looked back and they saw all their enemies drowned; they Thank God.

… They Thank Him for what He has done.

In Luke 17: 11-19; when Jesus Christ cleansed ten (10) Lepers and one (1) came back to say Thank You. It is clear that the Lord Himself was Pained that only one (1) came back because He commented: Were there not ten (10) cleansed? How come it is only one (1) that came back to say Thank You? Where are the other nine (9)?

My Prayer for you is that from now on, when you come to the Presence of God, you will approach Him first and foremost with Thanksgiving so that He will not look at you and say: Who do you think I am? Your Househelp? You just badge into my Presence and begin to Command me: God I need Promotion, God I need a Breakthrough, God I want You to heal me.

Am I your Househelp? Have you said Thank You for all what I have done for you thus far?

… I think we should learn that Big Lesson from the Prayers of Elijah.

2. I am almost Hundred Percent certain that he followed his Thanksgiving Prayers with Praise.

This could follow straightaway from the Passage we read earlier on, Psalms 100:4 – Enter His Gates with Thanksgiving and His Court with Praise.

You begin by Thanking Him for what He had already done for you and then you Praise Him.

What is Praise?

Praise is as it were, rolling out the things that God had done in the Past.

As it were, you are going through the CV (Curriculum Vitae); the Records of what He has done

Praise will be like saying:

I. Almighty God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth.

In Genesis 1:1, it says: In the Beginning, God created the Heaven and the Earth.

II. Or you might say: Almighty God, the One who said let there be Light and there was Light.

That is in his CV (Curriculum Vitae) – Genesis 1:3.

III. Or you could say: He is the One that darkness heard His Voice and fled

IV. You can talk of Him and say: You are the Lord who Breathe on the Red Sea and the Red Sea Parted – Exodus 14: 1-28.

V. Or you can say: You are the One who turned “Bitter Water” to “Sweet Water”.

That is also His CV (Curriculum Vitae) – You know the Story in Exodus 15: 20-26.

When the children of Israel got to Marah and they found out that the water was bitter and could not be taken. He was the One who gave Moses the Instruction of taking a Branch of a tree that was nearby; throw it into the water and the water became drinkable.

VI. Of course, you can also say: You are the One who can bring “Something” out of “Nothing” because you brought Water out of the Rock.

And He did it before! – In Exodus 17:1-6.

So, when you are Praising God – You are not just Thanking Him for what He has done for you (Thanking Him for what He has done for you is Thanksgiving). Praising God is rolling out His Track Records – You are the One who did this, You are the One who did that, You are the One who made a Way where there was No Way, You are the One who brought “Something” out of “Nothing”, You are the One who can change “Bitter Water” to “Sweet Water” et cetera et cetera.

3. Then he moved on to Worship.

Now, worship is different from Praise.

In Praise, you are talking about what He has done while in Worship, you are talking about Himself. You are now describing Him as a Person – Not His Acts now, not His Doings but Himself!

For Example:

I. In Psalms 91:1; He is called The Most High and the Almighty.

Psalms 91:1 says: He that dwelleth in the Secret Place of the Most High, shall abide under the Shadow of the Almighty.

II. You are the One Higher than the highest – Ecclesiastes 5:8.

III. Genesis 17:1 says: He is Jehovah El-Shaddai; The God who is More Than Enough.

IV. You are the “I Am that I Am” – Exodus 3: 13-14.

V. Or you can go on and roll out His Names – Isaiah 9:6 says: You are the One who is Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

… God loved to be Worshipped.

He said clearly in John 4: 23 and 24 – That God is a Spirit and they that worship Him (Not those that Thank Him or they that Praise Him); must Worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.

He says that He is seeking for Worshippers.

So, Thanking Him (God) is Good and it’s very necessary – You need to be Grateful for what He has done for you.

Praising Him is even better still because you are now not just talking what He has done for you, you are now talking about what He has done since the beginning of the world.

But in Worship, you are actually drawing Him Close because as you begin to eulogise Him as you begin to tell Him who He actually is. You are Practically Preparing Him for whatever it is you want to ask for.

4. Then I believed that Elijah moved on to the Prayer when he started reminding Him of His Promises.

I believed that he started to remind Him about Psalms 119:89 – Forever Oh Lord, thy Word is Settled.

I heard the Sound of Abundance of Rain, You spoke to me before I left the house of the Widow of Zarephath that if I go and show myself to Ahab, You will send Rain.

And Lord, I know that forever Oh Lord thy Word is Settled – Reminding Him of what He has Promised.

Numbers 23:19 – God, you are not a Man that You should lie, neither the Son of Man that You should repent. When You speak, you do it.

Lord, You are the One who told me that it is going to Rain – I’m reminding You.

And in Psalms 33: 8-9; the Bible says clearly: Let the whole Earth fear before the Lord because He speaks and it is done.

… Father, I know that once You speak, it is done!

And then those of us who are Christians; we know that in 2 Corinthians 1:20; that all the Promises of God in Jesus Christ are Yea in Him Amen.

So, you can see how you can be Progressive as it were; Set Up God for the Miracles you are about to ask for – Thank Him for what He has done, Praise Him for His Track Records, Eulogise Him and then you remind Him of His Promises!

5. And then I believed at this Stage that Elijah moved on to the Prayer to “Call on God to Arise”.

Psalms 68: 1-3 tells us: Let God arise and His enemies will be scattered.

Oh Elijah wasn’t unaware that there were Forces of Darkness that could want to hinder the Promise of God that there will be Abundance of Rain.

I believed that he was Clever enough to know that the devil will say: Okay, I lost the First Round in this Competition; I am not going to lose the Second Round.

I am sure that he is fully aware that should in case the enemies decided to Stand in the Way (But they might try). But he called on God and say: Arise Oh Lord, and your enemies will scatter.

In Psalms 44:26; the Bible says: Arise for our Help, for Your Mercy sake.

In other words, even if I don’t qualify for this Miracle, even if it is only for Your Mercy sake; arise I need Help!

Remember that this is the 5th time now that he is Praying – He has sent the servant the 1st time, no Rain, 2nd time, no Rain, 3rd time, Nothing, 4th time, Nothing and so the 5th time, he says: Almighty God, You have to Arise!

Afterall according to Psalms 24: 7-10 hopefully, he had included in the Prayer Number 3 (Prayer of Worship) – You are the Lord of Host, You are the King of Glory, You are the Lord Strong and Mighty, You are the One Mighty in Battle.

So, if You will Arise, even the Everlasting Doors will lift Up their Heads including the Doors that could be keeping the Rain back.

So, I believed his 5th Prayer will be: “Arise Oh Lord!”

6. And then after he has Prayed the first five (5) Prayers and nothing seems to be happening yet; I think that he will Probably be telling God – Prove Yourself again!

You Proved Yourself this morning by sending down Fire when I Called upon you; now I’m asking for Rain – Prove Yourself again.

Afterall, Malachi 3:6 has said that: You are the Lord, You Change Not.

You are Victorious before, You will be Victorious again – Prove Yourself again.

And we Christians, we can add to that – Jesus Christ, You are the same Yesterday, Today and Forever (Hebrews 13:8).

7. Finally, he moved on to the Prayer to begin to Thank God in Advance.

… I have gone through these Steps Oh Lord; now I’m Thanking You because I know it’s going to Rain.

You know that it is something easy for you to Thank God for what He has already done. It takes a Man of Faith to Thank God even before the Miracle arrives!

Like in Joshua 6:20 – The People shouted before the Wall of Jericho fell.

In 2 Chronicles 20: 20-25; the People were singing Praises to God as they were going to Battle – The enemies were there but they are already Praising God as if they have already obtained the Victory.

In John 11: 39-44; Jesus already Thank God before He called Lazarus out of the Tomb.

He said: I know You always hear me. I am Thanking You because I know that You will hear me again.

So, let us learn this very important Lesson from Elijah – Follow his Pattern of Prayer:

1. Start with Thanksgiving.
2. Move to Praise.
3. Proceed to Worship.
4. Begin to remind God of His Promises.
5. Call on the Almighty God to Arise.
6. Call on the Almighty God to Prove Himself.
7. Finally begin to Thank God in Advance.

And surely out of the “Clear Sky”; your Rain will begin to fall.

The Conclusion of the matter of course is that: You can’t apply these Principles and expect it to work if you are not on the Side of God!

Elijah knew that he has God behind him.

You are not on the Side of God until you have surrendered your Life to God!

ALTAR CALL

That is why I’m Calling on you – Those of you listening to me now or reading now on the Label of DMC and you have Mountains that must move.

Before you begin to apply these Principles, you must come to the Side of God.

He Promised: Come unto me all ye that Labour and are Heavy ladened and I will give you rest.

… You must come to Him first!

So, if you have not given your Life to Jesus Christ, I beg you in your own Interest; do so now and then you can begin to expect that when you Pray the way a Man of Faith should Pray, you can expect your Showers of Blessings.

So, if you want to give your Life to Jesus Christ, will you Please bow your head now even as we Pray.

Call on Him: Ask Him to Please save your Soul, ask Him to wash away your sins in His Blood; Promise Him that you will serve Him for the rest of your Life. Ask God to be Your Lord and your Saviour and things will Change dramatically for the better for you.

I’m going to Pray for you now and I trust God that He will save your Soul.

PRAYER FOR SALVATION AND CLOSING PRAYER

My Father and my God, I want to bless Your Holy Name for Your Words; I want to Thank You for “Revelational Knowledge” – For revealing to us the Great Steps that we could take to obtain Mighty Breakthrough.

But I’m Thanking You especially for those who are surrendering their lives to You now – Father, Please receive them, save their Souls, let Your Blood wash away their sins, receive them into the Family of God.

Oh, Almighty God I Pray that from now on, anytime they cry to You, You will answer them by Fire and I Pray that from now on, they too will serve You till the end.

And Please my Father and my God, as Your Children will follow these Simple seven (7) Steps – Both those who are just being Born Again and those who has known You all these days.

As they are following these Simple Steps – Thanking You, Praising You, Worshipping You, Reminding You and Lord God Almighty Calling on You to Arise for them, and to Prove Yourself to them and then Thanking You again in advance; let everyone of Your Children receive Mighty Outpouring of Blessings today.

In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen!

Praise the Lord – Hallelujah!

I want to rejoice with those of you who have given your Life to Jesus Christ.

I want to Promise you that from now on, I will be Praying for you.

But I will advice you to go to the nearest Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and talk to the Pastor there – Tell him you just gave your Life to Jesus Christ and you want to know how to Proceed from there on.

And I’m sure that you will be having Testimonies from this day onwards in Jesus Name – Amen.

OPENING PRAYER

Father, once again we want to bless Your Holy Name; we want to Thank You that thus far You had helped us.

Thank You because we know that You are Sufficient enough to keep on helping us till the end; Father accept our Thanks in Jesus Name.

As we continue with Your Words; we ask that this day in Particular; all Your Promises concerning us will be fulfilled.

In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.

Praise the Lord – Hallelujah!

Now, we will continue with our Study on: “GOING HIGHER” and we will now move on to Part 37.

And believe me, we will still be taking our Bible Text from 1 Kings 18:41.

You will say: But we have been on this Verse for weeks now – Yes, there is still so much to be learnt from that Verse and as we go Higher, we dig deeper!

1 Kings 18:41 – And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a Sound of Abundance of rain.

Note that the first thing that I saw here which I’m just about to show you is that: The first time that Elijah heard from God about rain is in 1 Kings 18:1.

That is when God said: Go, show thyself to Ahab and I will send Rain.

… That’s what God said!

All that God asked him to do was – “Go, show yourself to Ahab.

Just go there and say: Hello Ahab, here I am. I learnt that you have been looking for me and I will send Rain.

So, I began to wonder: What is all the Drama between Verse 1 and Verse 41 because there had been quite a lot of Drama from Verse 1 to Verse 41.

I mean that you know very well that:

Elijah saw another Prophet (Obadiah) and said: Go and tell Ahab that I want to see him.

And that one said: Hey, if I go, before I return, the Spirit of God will take you away somewhere.

Do you want to kill me?

And it said that, that fellow went, told the King, the King came and then there was that confrontation – Art thou that my Lord Elijah? (That is the Other Prophet (Obadiah) talking to Elijah).

And Elijah said to the King: I am not the one troubling Israel; it is you and your father’s house.

I thought that after the confrontation; Rain should fall but then Elijah took over and began to Command the King – Go and bring the whole of Israel to Mount Carmel; let them come and meet me.

Ha, Ha; that is not included in what God asked you to do – He just said: Go, show yourself to Ahab.

And the King obeyed and the whole of Israel gathered on Mount and then there was a Drama – Elijah stood on one side and said: Hey, all of you see, I’m the only one here; the rest of you the whole Nation Plus the four hundred and fifty (450) Prophets of Baal; let us have a Competition.

… That is not in Verse 1. But God didn’t say: Go and have a Competition on Mount Carmel!

So I said: What is going on here?

And then there was a Drama as the Prophet of Baal Prepared their own Bullocks and they were dancing and cutting themselves with knives and Elijah was mocking them.

And then Elijah Prepared the Altar of the Lord, Prepared his own Offerings and told the People to dig a trench round it, fill it with water et cetera et cetera.

What is going on here?

And then he Prayed and the Fire fell – God didn’t say I will send Fire; He said that I will send Rain.

And then Elijah said: Hey, get all the Prophets of Baal, bring them to Brook Kishon and I will kill them all.

It takes quite a while to kill four hundred and fifty (450) People – There must have been quite a lot of Blood flowing that day.

Why this Drama?

That is the kind of questions you ask when you read the Story because there are Lessons to be learnt there – Hidden Treasures.

1. And one of such “Hidden Treasures” is this: God does not show you a Whole Picture at once.

… Never will God show you the whole Picture at once!

Isaiah 28: 10 and 13 says:

10. For Precept must be upon Precept, Precept upon Precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little
11. But the Word of the LORD was unto them Precept upon Precept, Precept upon Precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

… He shows us a little at a time.

Psalms 37: 23-24 says that: The Steps of a Good Man are ordered by the Lord.

23. The Steps of a Good Man are ordered by the LORD: and He delighteth in his way.
24. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with His Hands.

Steps! – Do you know how small the Steps of a Man can be?

You want to travel a thousand Miles; a Step at a time.

Why? – He said just in case he makes a mistake and fall in one step; it will be easy to correct the mistake. God can quickly put him back.

In Genesis 17:1; God was speaking to Abraham and He said: I am Jehovah El-Shaddai. Walk before me and be thou Perfect.

… Not jump but walk.

If God has told me that day I was Born Again that I will become a Pastor; I would have backslided that day Promptly.

If He had told me at that day when I was still a Worker that I will end up being the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG); I would have say: Thank You very much – If forward is not Possible, then I will go back to where I’m coming from.

He does not show you the whole Picture at once!

So, don’t ever try to overrun God – A Step at a time!

There was a difference from:

I. Exodus 17: 1-6 – When the People needed water and God told Moses: Go and Strike the Rock.

II. And in Numbers 20: 1-13 – When they needed water again; God said: Go and Speak to the Rock.

The Second Scene (Scene 2) is different from the First Scene (Scene 1).

The Bible made it clear that in 1 Corinthians 13: 9-10 – We know in Parts and we Prophesy in Parts until the Perfect One is come.

That is why I always smile when I hear some Prophets will Pray for 30 Minutes and Prophesy for 1 Hour.

And I just wondered – Is it the same God that I’m serving because my God is not a Talkative.

… Now, just a little bit – A little bit at a time.

He said that for now, all you can do is: Thus saith the Lord. And you then say whatever little bit of what He has said and you keep your mouth shut.

… Wait until the Perfect One is come.

Who is the Perfect One?

The Lord Jesus Christ is the Word Himself – John 1:1 says: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He is the Only who can say: Verily, Verily I say unto you.

In John 3:11; He said: Verily, Verily I say unto you.

… We speak what we know and testify what we have seen.

He is the One who knows it all.

Beware of Prophets who are always Prophesying Non Stop.

Oh but daddy, you also Prophesy maybe during the Holy Ghost Service (HGS) that – My Father said …

Do you know how many hours of Prayers and Fasting Preceding all those little, little bits? Do we Prophesy from the Beginning to the End?

A little bit now, a little bit then.

Some People will come to you and say: Ha, what has God said about me?

If He says something about you, I will tell you. If He doesn’t say anything, then He hasn’t say anything.

Does that mean that God is not going to talk? – No, He will talk when it is time!

When I tell my driver: Sir, we are going to Lagos – Yes sir!

Where to? – I am going to visit my friend so, so, so.

That’s all he needs to know at that moment.

And he takes me to where I am going and then he stays in the car and I go into my friend’s and we discuss whatever we want to discuss as long as we wanted and then I will come back.

And when I come back, the next Instructions comes to him – We are going home now or we are going to branch at so, so and so Place.

… It is a Word at a time – That is the way God speaks. Just a little at a time.

For Example in 1 Samuel 16: 1-13 – When God said to Samuel: Samuel (Yes Lord). Stop weeping for King Saul as I have rejected him (Yes Lord).

Now, I have chosen a New King; he is living in the house of a Man called Jesse (one of his sons) in the town called Bethlehem.

Fill your horn with Oil and go – Yes Lord!

When Samuel arrived, he should have asked when Jesse Presented seven (7) Big boys – The first question he should have asked should have been – Are these all your children.

No, he took over from there; he thought he knows more than God – He saw the first boy; Oh, this boy looks like King Saul, Oh this must be the one.

God said that I didn’t tell you that.

Then the Second (2nd) one, the Third (3rd) one – The Prophet took seven (7) Steps that day and fell down seven (7) times but God Picked him up again.

At the end of the Seventh (7th) time, he now said: Wait a minute; I think I heard God. I think He said that the Man who will be King is going to be here.

Before he now said: Are these all?

When God is speaking to you – Because I have Prayed that God will open your ears and I’m sure that He heard me when I Pray that Prayers some weeks ago.

When He begins to talk to you; be satisfied with a little now and then a little at a later time – One little bit now and another little bit next.

2. And Please, when God asks you to wait; do so!

When He has guided you to a Particular Spot and He hasn’t spoken yet concerning what next step; Wait!

I mean consider 1 Samuel 13: 1-14 – A Man of God has told King Saul: Wait for me, I’m coming, I will be here in seven (7) days time.

But the King saw the Armies of the enemies surrounding him and he said where is this Samuel self, he hasn’t come. I think that I better offer the Sacrifice.

But did He asked you to be Offering Sacrifice to Him? – You are the King. He has given the Assignment to a Prophet.

And he (King Saul) said that I can’t wait any longer; let us Sacrifice something.

The Bible said that as soon as he finished making the Sacrifice, Samuel came – Only if he had waited.

Brethren, one of the Biggest Lesson that you must learn as you “Go Higher” is that: “Be Patient” when you are dealing with God!

God may be delayed but He will arrive!

As a matter of fact, if you will Study Mark 5: 21-48; you will find out that the Lord at times can be delayed.

Jesus Christ was going to the house of Jairus to go and heal his daughter.

A Woman stole a Miracle on the way.

That delayed the Lord – Delayed Him for so long that the Message came to Jairus that the daughter was dead.

The Lord said: Don’t bother yourself; I have chosen to come to your house.

And when the Resurrection and Life arrives, death will be chased out.

… God may be delayed but a delay from God does not mean denial!

3. Now the Biggest Lesson therefore that you should learn from this Particular Verse is that: Between God’s Promise and Manifestations, there could be a “Time Gap”.

Genesis 8: 20-22 spoke about Seed Time and Harvest.

Bible Scholars said that it should be Seed Time and Harvest.

There must be a Time from when you sow and when you reap.

It is not the day you Plant your yam that it is going to become time to Harvest it – it will have to die in the soil, it will have to germinate, it will have to take some time to grow.

Once God has spoken, it is done – Numbers 23:19.

Psalms 119:89 says: Forever Oh Lord, thy Word is Settled.

I mean it’s like you want to go London and you live in Lagos Nigeria.

You have Passport, you have Visa and you bought your Ticket.

As soon as you get your Ticket, you can Phone your Relatives in London that I will see you on such and such a day.

But between I will see you on such and such a day; there is a Process – You still have to travel from your house to the Airport and God help you that you didn’t miss the Plane because of Traffic Jam.

You still have to get to the Airport and Check-In, you still have to go through Immigrations, you still have to Board the Plane.

And that you have boarded the Plane does not mean that the Plane is going to fly because when the Pilot check everything and just before take-off, if a Red Light shows in any of the Controls; you are not going anywhere.

But once you have gotten the Ticket; all being well, you will see your Man.

… Once God has Promised; there may be delay but there will be Manifestations.

Let us see some Examples:

I. 1 Samuel 1: 9-20 – When Hannah was Praying and the Man of God saw her weeping and Praying.

And the Man of God said: Alright lady, the Lord grant your Request.

From that moment onwards, the matter was settled.

But do you know that Elkanah still have some job to do?

The two (2) of them still have to go home; the husband still have to do the job of a husband; the baby still have to grow in the Womb.

There is a Process called Delivery and not everybody who went to the Maternity Center will come out alive.

II. Then consider another one in Genesis 12: 1-3.

God will bless Abraham and through his Seed, the whole Earth will be blessed.

Once God said that, it was Settled.

But remember that so many things still happened in-between the Promise of God and the Manifestations of His Promise.

A. There was still Genesis 12: 10-20 – There was still famine, there was still Abraham and Sarah going to Egypt, there was still the Egyptians King taking the wife away before God Intervened.

B. But because of time, we will jump to Genesis 18: 9-14 – God now said: Alright, it is no longer Promises, I now decreed that nine (9) Months from now, your wife will have a son.

C. But a lot of funny things still happened in-between if you read Genesis 20: 1-18 – There was still the situation when Abimelech still took over Sarah.

… God didn’t tell Abraham that!

He didn’t say that between now and the time Isaac will arrive; there is still one King that will take your wife and then I am going to Plague the King.

He doesn’t show you the whole Picture!

D. But finally, Genesis 21: 1-7 came – When finally Isaac arrived!

III. Consider Joshua 1: 1-8 – God said to Joshua: Hey, you are taking over the Land, you are dividing the Land to my People, everywhere the Sole of your feet shall touch, I have given unto you.

A. But there was still Joshua Chapter 2 – River Jordan must be crossed.

B. There is still Joshua Chapter 6 – The Wall of Jericho must still fall.

C. There is still Joshua Chapter 7 – When Achan stepped into the Story and the Man God said will never run from his enemies, ran before Ai.

D. Until finally in Joshua Chapter 12 – When Joshua now began to say: Oh, Glory be to God; we defeated this King, we defeated that.

IV. Or consider my friend Elisha.

A. In 1 Kings 19: 15-21 – The moment the Mantle of Elijah fell on Elisha; the fate of Elisha was sealed.

The Young Man knew it – He knew without being told that: I’m going to take over from this Man (Elijah).

That is why he slew the Oxen he was working with; that is why he used the Plough to Prepare the food – He knew that he wasn’t coming back to Farming.

B. But do you know that Years Passed – Not 1 Year or 2 Years; before we finally came to 2 Kings 2: 1-15.

When God speaks, it is already done.

But there may be a delay in its Manifestations.

V. The same is for an Individuals and it is the same for a Nation.

A. In Genesis 15: 12-14 – God spoke to Abraham: Your Descendants will be Sojourners in a Strange Land and they are going to be tormented.

But that Nation that is going to torment them; I am going to deal with the Nation.

And that your children will come out with Great Wealth – Genesis Chapter 15 but that didn’t come to Pass till Exodus Chapter 12.

In-between the Promise of God to Abraham – Oh, Isaac was born, Jacob was born, there is a Struggle between Jacob and Esau.

Somehow, Joseph was born, there was a misunderstanding between Joseph and his brothers, Joseph ended up first as a Slave to Portiphar and then the Prison before he ended up in the Palace.

All these were before Famine came – Remember the Seven (7) Years of Plenty Plus Seven (7) Years of Famine and then Jacob came to Egypt and Years Passed.

But then, when Exodus Chapter 12 came, we found the children leaving Egypt loaded down with Wealth.

What is the Lesson?

Habakkuk 2:3 says: When God gives you a Vision, when He gives us a Promise; wait for it. Even if it tarries, wait because God is going to work the Purpose out.

So, I’m saying to those of you who are Children of God – Have you received the Words of Prophesy from the Almighty God and you are yet to see the Manifestations?

Instead, you are seeing one Drama here, one Drama there – God is behind the Scene working His Purpose out.

And as the Lord God Almighty lives that I serve lives, you will testify – Amen.

When God makes us a Promise, the only one who can make sure that Promise will not come to Pass is You! – You are the only one who can cause Him to Change His Mind.

1 Samuel 2:30 – He said to Eli: I said indeed that you and your father’s house will Stand before me forever but now I say I Change my Mind.

The Only way God can Change His Mind concerning His Promise for you is if you go back into sin.

If you backslide, you refuse to repent and return to Him; He can Change His Mind.

Of course, if you are not even His Child, and you are claiming His Promises; you are just wasting your time – Miracles belongs to Children of God and not to anyone else.

ALTAR CALL

So, if you are a Backslider, Please return to the Author of Salvation – Whatever He Promises, He will fulfill.

If you are not Born Again yet, run to Jesus Christ now – When He speaks, it is done. He is the Alpha and Omega; the Beginning and the Ending.

So, if you want to give your Life to Jesus Christ; Please bow your head wherever you may be or reading now on the Label of DMC – Cry unto Him and say: Lord, Please save my Soul, have Mercy on me and He will.

If you are a Backslider, come back to Him and say: Please Lord, restore me into Fellowship with you.

Ancient of Days, I just want to say Thank You.

I want to give You all Glory and Honour because I know Your Promises are Yea and Amen – Once You have Spoken, it is done.

Thank You Almighty God.

And I’m committing all those who are returning to You now – Every Backslider coming back to you today; Please take them back, restore them into Fellowship with You.

And all those who are coming to You for the First (1st) Time, Please receive them all, save their Souls and bring them into the Family of God so that they too can begin to enjoy the Miracles of Children of God.

Lord God Almighty, I Pray once again for everyone of Your Children; Please every delay between Your Promise and the Manifestations; Please remove today.

Let all Your Prophecies concerning us be fulfilled and give us the Patience to wait for You.

OPENING PRAYER

Father Almighty – The One who was, the One who is, the One who is to come; the Unchangeable Lord – We worship You.

We Thank You for all You have done for us Particularly since we started this Series (Going Higher).

Thank You because day after day; You have been lifting us Higher and Higher – We are Grateful.

And we know that You will continue to lift us Higher – So Please accept our worship in Jesus Name.

Continue with us as we continue in our Series (Going Higher).

In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.

Praise the Lord – Hallelujah!

Well, wave to one (1) or two (2) People and say: Good Day and God Bless You.

We will be looking at 1 Kings 18: 30-35 as we speak on “GOING HIGHER – PART 28”.

And if you want to give it a Sub Title; you want to call it: “REPAIR YOUR ALTAR”.

30 And Elijah said unto all the People, Come near unto me. And all the People came near unto him. And he repaired the Altar of the LORD that was broken down.

31 And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the Number of the Tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the Word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy Name:

32 And with the stones he built an Altar in the Name of the LORD: and he made a trench about the Altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.

33 And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in Pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and Pour it on the burnt Sacrifice, and on the wood.

34 And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.

35 And the water ran round about the Altar; and he filled the trench also with water.

Here we find Elijah demonstrating to every Man Present that he was a Man of Great Faith!

He was about to offer a Sacrifice to God and he was going to ask God to send down Fire from Heaven.

And it looks as if he decided to make the situation absolutely impossible for God by making sure that there was Plenty of water round the Sacrifice.

Why did he do this?

Oh, we could spend a whole Sermon discussing that.

1. Maybe he want to do it to let everybody knows that there is no fire under the Sacrifice – I am not Pretending that there is no fire there; you too can see that I have Poured in water until the whole Place is overflowing with water.

So, if I Place any fire under; by now the fire will be out.

2. The Second Thing of course is that he is a Man of Great Faith.

Some People have said that:

I. When God wants to be Wonderful; He starts with a Problem.

II. And when He wants to be Miraculous, He starts with an Impossibility.

In other words: The Bigger the Problem, the Greater the Glory that God will get out of it.

So I’m saying to all of you who thinks that you have a ‘Big Problem’; in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ; your Testimony is going to be ‘Big’ – Amen!

But the aspect that I want to focus on for the next few minutes is the issue of the Altar!

1. Because the Bible says here that: Elijah repaired the Altar of the Lord that has been broken down.

They have not been worshipping God for quite a while; and so the Altar of God has been badly damaged and then he built a New Altar in its Place.

What is an Altar?

1. The Altar is the Meeting Place where God meets with Man.

Genesis 12:7 – We hear about Abraham suddenly finding himself in contact with God.

And what did he do? – He built an Altar!

2. An Altar is where Man Calls on God.

Genesis 12:8 – The same Abraham built an Altar and called on God.

An Altar therefore is a Place where you Call on the Name of the Lord – Genesis 13: 1-4.

3. An Altar is a Place where God receives Offerings and makes Covenant with Man.

Genesis 8: 20-22 – When Noah came out of the Ark; he built an Altar, Presented an Offering to God, God received the Offering and made a Covenant.

And said: I will no longer wipe out the world with water.

He made a Covenant – He said that as long as the Earth remains: Seedtime and Harvest; Day and Night; Hot and Cold will not cease.

… It was at an Altar!

That is why anyone who has any sense at all – They give Priority to the Altar.

Genesis 13: 14-18 – Whenever Abraham move from one Place to another; the first thing that he does is to build an Altar.

… I want a Place whereby I can be in contact with God.

Now, when we talk about the Altar: There is the Physical Altar as you have in a Church Settings.

But the Altar that God is interested in most is the Altar in your Heart! – An Altar that you can carry about: Anywhere you go; Day and Night!

That is why in Joel 2:13; God said: Rend your heart; not your dress.

God said that the Altar that I am interested in is the Altar in your Heart.

Matthew 5:8; it is written: Blessed are the Pure in Heart for they shall see God.

If the Altar of your Heart is Pure; God will Pay you a visit.

That is why David said in Psalms 108:1 – He said: My Heart is fixed within me; I will Praise the Lord.

When David went astray; he cried to God in Psalms 51:10 – Create in me a Clean Heart.

… Help me repair the Altar that is in my Heart.

That brings us to the Big Question: How is the Altar in your Heart?

Today or as you are reading on the Label of DMC: You are going to do some serious Checking – Is the Altar in my Heart in Good Condition?

You see in 2 Corinthians 13:5; the Bible said: Check, are you still in the Faith?

Check, is the Altar in your Heart in Good Condition?

1 Corinthians 10:12 says: If you think you Stand, take heed less you fall.

If the Altar is Strong, if it is still okay with God; the Bible says: Take heeds!

You need to check this Day as it is written in Revelations 2: 1-4 – Are you sure that you have not left your “First Love”? Is your Altar still okay?

Because according to Revelation 3: 15-16; you may need to do a little bit of Checking – Am I as Hot as I used to be? Or am I now Lukewarm?

Because you need to check that the Altar in your Heart is in Good Condition otherwise you don’t find yourself like the case of Samson in Judges 16: 1:21 (End).

You know how this Mighty Man of God slowly (Very, Very slowly); little Steps at a time lost Complete Contact with God.

And when he got up and said: I will go out as before; he discovered that the Altar inside him has been destroyed.

He couldn’t go out as before because the One he used to meet at the Altar had gone!

Several Years ago; I think I have taught you about how the enemy will attack a Strong Man – He won’t come direct, he won’t come face to face; he will come from behind.

And I gave you the illustration of a leaking tank – You filled the tank of your car with fuel enough to go at least from Lagos State to Ibadan (Capital of Oyo State) (Both States in Nigeria) and then there is a little hole in the tank.

And as you are driving; just one little drop of fuel – One drop Per Second, Per Second and all of a sudden, you get halfway and you discovered that your tank is empty.

You used to Pray Nonstop for two (2) or three (3) hours – Well let us say one (1) hour and then now you Pray for fifty nine Minutes (59 mins) and you say that there is no much difference between 59 mins and I hour (60 mins).

… Only just 1 minute!

And then 59 mins becomes 58 mins and then 57 mins and before you know it; we are talking of 27 mins, 17 mins and then 7 mins.

Where is your Relationship with God? – Check your Altar!

Because you will need to repair your Altar before you can Pray the Prayer that will bring Fire down – That is the Point!

The moment you discovered after a “Thorough Self Examination” that the Altar in your Heart is no longer as it used to be – RESTITUTE urgently

I will advice you to Study the Book of Joshua Chapters 7 and 8.

You see: In Joshua Chapter 1; God Promised Joshua in Verses 1 to 8 that: There is Nobody that will be able to Stand before him all the days of his Life; that anywhere the sole of his feet shall touch, He (God) has given it unto him (Joshua).

And then come Joshua Chapter 7 – And Israel fled before the enemy.

Then Joshua fell on his face and said: What is going on?

That is what you should do – Check what is wrong with the Altar in my Life!

God spoke to him – There is a Problem with your Altar and unless you Restitute, I am not going with you anymore.

Immediately, Joshua restituted and then in Joshua Chapter 8, he went ahead and conquered just as God Promised.

You see because God made a Promise in Jeremiah 3:22 – He said: Ha, if you will return unto Me, I will heal your Backsliding.

In Hosea 14:4, He said: I will heal your Backsliding, I will love you Freely.

If you are willing to repair the Altar, God said that we can come back together and begin to have Fellowship as we used to be!

… That is the first thing that you should do – Repair the Altar!

2. After you have repaired the Altar; you then put something on the Altar!

Elijah repaired the Altar and then he Presented his Offering on the Altar.

Probably before we go on to putting something on the Altar; let me remind you of a Story that I told you Years ago about the issue of Restitution because many of you now don’t seems to want to hear anything about Restitution again.

But if you found out that you are not making Spiritual Progress; it is most likely because you need to Restitute your Ways!

I told you that I went to the University of Ibadan (Oyo State, Nigeria) to go and Minister.

When we got to to Ibadan (Capital City of Oyo State Nigeria); that evening, I branch at a Petrol Station to buy fuel so that I can get up very early the following morning and head to Lagos.

The following morning, I started the car – The car will start but as I try to move, the engine will cut off and stop.

To cut a long story short; the Engineers at the University of Ibadan Campus take a look at what is happening, they said sorry sir, there is water in the Carburettor.

Apparently, where we went to buy fuel, they were selling fuel mixed with water.

Sir, what do I do?

Sir, you are not going to go in a hurry. We have to put down your fuel tank, we have to drain every bit of fuel in the car and then separate water from the fuel and then put the fuel back and then go on your way.

… Until they did that; I was stuck up there.

Is there water mixed with the fuel of your Life? Have you something in your Possession that is not rightfully yours?

You must Restitute your Way or else the engine won’t start. If it starts, it is not going to work.

After you have restituted your way; when you have Prepared the Altar; then you put something on them.

Why? – Because from the Scriptures, the Fire of God never falls on an “Empty Altar”.

I am going to give you several examples very quickly – I will just give you the Bible Passages and you will go ahead to read it yourself.

When God’s Fire falls, there must be something that the Fire must fall upon:

1. Genesis 19: 23-24 – The Fire of God fell on Sodom and Gomorrah and there were People for the Fire to consume.
2. Leviticus 9: 18-24 – Aaron made an Offering to God and the Fire of God fell on the Offering.
3. 1 Chronicles 21:26 – David Presented an Offering to God and Fire fell.
4. 2 Chronicles 7:1 – Solomon Presented an Offering to God and Fire fell.
5. 1 Kings 18 – Elijah Presented an Offering to God and Fire fell.
6. In 2 Kings 1: 9-12 – We have an interesting case here.

Elijah was sitting on a Hill and a King send fifty (50) Soldiers and their Captain to go and arrest him. And when they got there, they said: Man of God, come down.

He said: Hey, you know I’m a Man of God and you want to arrest me?

They said: Yes.

Then he (Elisha) said: I make you as an Offering to God.

And Fire fell twice in one day – But each time, there was something for the Fire to fall upon.

7. Then that beautiful one in Acts 2: 1-4.

On the Day of Pentecost, when the Apostles gathered together in the Upper Room – Oh, the Fire of God fell and it fell on everyone of them.

The Fire will not fall on an Empty Altar!

Which brings us to the Conclusion: Will you love to have a Taste of Heavenly Fire?

All you have to do is simple according to Romans 12:1 – You Present yourself as a Living Sacrifice on the Altar to God.

We sing a Song in the days gone by:

Holy Ghost Fire
Fire fall on me
Holy Ghost Fire
Fire fall on me
As on the Day of Pentecost
Fire fall on me
As on the Day of Pentecost
Fire fall on me

I’m sure that many times when we sing the Song; the Almighty God will sit down in Heaven and Smile – You want my Fire to fall on you; are you ready for it?

I. Because if the Fire falls on a Sinner, it will consume the Sinner.

… Ask those of them in Sodom and Gomorrah and they will tell you.

II. But if it falls on a True Child of a Living God, who has surrendered all; Power comes.

… And we will be hearing more of this later on.

So today, if you are not a True Child of God; Please don’t Pray that the Fire of God will fall because if it falls and there is sin in your Life, it will be trouble.

But if you are a Child of the Living God and you are hungry for His Power; and you want a Taste of Him; repair the Altar of God in your Life, Restitute your Ways; then lay yourself on the Altar and Call on Him and His Fire will fall!

ALTAR CALL

So, those of you who are not sure if the Fire of God will fall today it will not consume you; you are not sure of your Salvation or you are not sure that the Altar of God is Properly Prepared. But you want to cry unto Him for Salvation or for Restoration – Wherever you are now or reading now on the Label of DMC; will you bow your Head and cry to Him for Salvation or Restoration or the Grace to Restitute.

I am willing to join my Prayers with yours and the Almighty God will answer us.

So, if you want to give your Life to Jesus Christ or you want to be Restored to Him; Please bow your Head now and cry to Him and I will Pray in a moment.

PRAYER FOR SALVATION AND CLOSING PRAYER

Thank You Almighty God – Thank You for Your Words my Father and my God; Thank You because You are there in Heaven, watching over everyone of us.

You know those who are hungry for You Lord; those who are saying Please save our Souls.

Please answer them Oh Lord, save their Souls today, let Your Blood wash away their sins and from now on, each time they call on You, Please answer them by Fire.

As for those of us Lord God Almighty who were hot for You once but have become lukewarm; Please restore us Lord.

And as we spread ourselves unto You on the Altar – Surrendering completely to You; send the Fire, heat us up again so that all will be well.

In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.

Praise the Lord – Hallelujah!

Now, I rejoice with those of you who has given your Life to Jesus Christ.

24. And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the Name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the People answered and said, It is well spoken.

When I was Younger in the Lord, I used to think that when the Bible calls God: “The Lord of Host”; that it was talking about the Angels alone.

… That God is the Commander In Chief of the Angels.

But as I grew in the Lord, I discovered that No; He is the Commander In Chief of “All Armies” – Armies in Heaven, Armies on Earth, Armies Underneath the Earth.

1. As a matter of fact; I discovered that God says that He has a Great Army made up of Insects (Joel 2: 25) – Locust, cankerworm, caterpillar, Palmerworm. They are all Part of His Great Army.

He said so when He was Promising to forgive and restore Israel – He said: I will restore to you the Years the cankerworm, the caterpillar and the Palmerworm had eaten. He said my Great Army that I sent among you.

2. When you Study the Scriptures, you will discovered that:

I. God can fight with Frogs – Exodus 8: 1-13.

II. He can fight with Lice – Exodus 8: 16-19.

III. He can fight with Flies – Exodus 8: 20-31.

… Yes, He has Mighty Armies – Angels, Insects, Birds … name them!

1. But the very Nature of God Himself is Fire.

So, if you are thinking of Putting a Sub Title to this Message, it is: “GOD AND FIRE”.

Because we heard Elijah saying here: The God that answereth by Fire, let Him be God!

You need to know and you need to let it sink deeply into you as you are Going Higher that: The very Nature of God is Fire!

Hebrews 12:29 says: Our God is a Consuming Fire.

… Don’t ever forget that!

The Closer you get to Him, the more you must realised that our God is a Consuming Fire – You need to get that deep into your heart so that you don’t get too casual with Him.

… Our God is not Father Christmas – Never forget that!

Oh, God is Love – Ha, we also know that as it is written. But never forget that when you are dealing with God, you are dealing with Fire!

In Acts 2: 1-4; on the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came; it came as a “Cloven Tongues of Fire”.

In Revelation 4:5; the Bible stated clearly – The seven (7) Lamps of Fire represents the seven (7) Spirits of God.

… Fire! Fire!! Fire!!!

In Exodus 3: 1-6; when Moses saw a bush burning and the bush was not consumed and he turned around to see; the Bible said: God spoke to him out of that Fire.

… He is a Fire – Discriminating Fire!

When He is dealing with His Children, He is one kind of Fire; when He is dealing with the enemies of His Children, He is another kind of Fire.

Daniel 3: 19-27 – The People who went to throw Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego into the fiery furnace were slain by Fire but His own Children, they were walking through the Fire, Strolling and having a conversation with the Forth (4) Man.

God is Invincible – His Own Fire is an “Invincible Fire” but He is Fire all the same!

Judges 15: 11-14 – When they brought Samson bound to the Philistines and the Philistines began to rejoice; the Bible says that the Holy Spirit came down Mightily on Samson. And the only thing that got burnt were the ropes that bound him.

… God is Fire – Discriminating Fire.

I’m Praying today that the Fire of God will come down and everything that is not of God in your Life will be consumed – Amen!

It is because His Nature is Fire; it is because He is a very, very Jealous of the fact that He is a Fire; that is why in Leviticus 10: 1-2 – When the sons of Aaron brought Strange Fire into the Temple; God killed them straightaway.

It is a Great Lesson, a Great Warning to those of us who may want to bring Strange Fires into the Church of the Living God – They are Playing with death!

2. He made Fire for His Purpose – That is the Physical Fire that you see.

You know that He made all things – John 1: 1-3.

A. One of the Principal Reason that He made Fire is for Purification – Malachi 3:3.

… Those of you who wants to go High, Please Pay attention!

In Malachi 3:3; He says that He is going to Purify the sons of Levi. He will sit down as the Refiner and Purifier of Silver and Pass the sons Levi through Fire (Purify them).

Why? – Because when Gold is Passed through Fire, it becomes Purer Gold.

Job 23:10; Job said: When He tried me, I will come forth as Gold; when He has Passed me through Fire, I will come out as Pure as Gold.

1 Peter 1:7; the Bible tells us that your Faith must be tried by Fire.

I hope that I am not frightening anybody!

But you said last Sunday (Sunday 11th of July, 2021 – Part 24 of this Series) that you want to be “I” Only; you want to reach the Top.

The Gold that the Almighty God has to use has to be the Purest kind of Gold!

… And Gold is Purified by Fire!

It will amaze you if you will now read with Understanding Exodus 12: 1-10.

When the Lord was telling Moses how to Prepare the Meal for the Passover – He said it must be roasted by Fire.

He said don’t boil it, roast it with Fire.

He said any bit of it that you could not finish that night, burn the rest by Fire.

… So, He created Fire for Purification – Particularly for those who are His Own!

B. But He also created Fire, sent down Fire occasionally to show His Approval; to show His Acceptance of Offering.

Judges 6: 11-22; He said to Gideon – Hey, you are a Mighty Man of Valour and I have an Assignment for you.

And that one said: Well, if that one is true, let me give you an Offering, let me Prepare some food for you – You know the rest of the Story.

They Prepared the food – He said Pour it on the Rock, he touched it with the Staff in his hands; then Fire came.

In 2 Chronicles 7:1; when Solomon finished Praying – That is after he built a beautiful house for God. And then Prepared an Offering for God in 2 Chronicles 5:13-14 and he Prayed, Dedicating the House of God.

God wanted him to know – Yes son, I have approved of what you have done, I accept your Offering. He sent down Fire.

… That is very important – Let that one settled in your Mind!

If you are going to be a Great Vessel unto God; you will Pass through Fire!

The difference between Steel and Iron is how long each one had stayed in the Fire!

And I remembered telling those of us who are Older that a General will not carry a sword to battle that has not been in the Fire for a long time because Fire must remove everything that is not one hundred Percent (100%) Pure from that sword.

He doesn’t want a sword that will break in the day of Trouble – You want a sword that will last.

But the Point I want to make – I want to go a little deeper for all of us who are determined to reach whatever Heights God can make available to Man is this:

In 1 Kings 18:1; when God spoke to Elijah – What He said is: “Go and show yourself to Ahab and I will send Rain”.

He didn’t say that I will send Fire – He said that I will send Rain.

So, how come now that Elijah was saying: God will send Fire?

… Because that was what he (Elijah) was saying – The God that answereth by Fire, let Him be God!

This is Introducing us to something called: “THE MINISTRY OF THE PROPHET”.

And I Prayed that the Holy Spirit Himself will circumcised your ears so that you will hear correctly and not jump to wrong conclusions – Amen!

There is a difference between Someone who can Prophesy and Someone who is a Prophet.

A Prophet (Real Prophet) chosen by God has a Ministry that is different from just anybody – They have a higher Intimacy with God, they hear the Inaudible, they hear what others don’t hear!

For Example:

I. Take Moses in Exodus 14: 15:18.

When the Army of Pharaoh was Pursuing the children of Israel; the children of Israel just saw Moses lifting up his hands against the Red Sea and the Red Sea Parted.

They did not hear when God said to Moses: Raise your hands against the Red Sea – Only Moses heard that one.

As a matter of fact, I’m sure that when he stood before the Red Sea and lifted up his hands and his rods against the Red Sea, the children of Israel will be wondering what is going on?

It will amaze you that there is no where else before then that God has told anybody that when you want to cross a Sea, raise your hands.

So, if you too get to the Lagoon and you say: Hey, Lagoon, can you see my hands – Part!

… Attempt it!

Maybe Somebody will rescue you before you have drunk gallons or litres of water.

II. In 2 Kings 2: 19-22 – When the People of Jericho came to Elisha and they said: Sir, we have a Problem – Our City is beautiful but the Ground is barren and there are lots of death here.

He said: Go and bring me Salt in a New Container.

And he took the Salt and applied it to the Source of the River and the Problem was solved.

Where did he learnt that from?

Has Elijah ever done anything like that before because he was brought up by Elijah?

Where is it written before in the Scriptures that if there is a curse upon a City, that all you need to do is to take Salt and throw it into the River and everything will be okay?

Where was it written before?

But he (Elisha) heard God saying: Son, this is the Solution.

III. When you read 2 Kings 4: 38-41; the Bible said that Elisha wanted to feed the sons of the Prophet and he asked someone to Prepare the food.

And someone went out and brought some Poisonous Herbs and added it to the food.

And when they tasted the food and found out that it was Poisonous; they cried unto Elisha: Sir, there is death in the Pot.

The Man of God did not Pray – He simply said: Bring me some Flowers.

They brought him some Flowers, he threw it into the Pot and the Poison disappeared.

Where did he learnt that from?

He didn’t learnt it – He heard, he heard the Inaudible.

IV. Not all Disciples have that kind of Intimacy with God.

I mean like we told you before in John 13: 21-26.

When Jesus Christ said that Somebody was going to betray Him and they beckoned to John to ask – The Bible said that John was leaning on the bosom of Jesus Christ.

What Jesus Christ said to him was not heard by the others – Jesus Christ whispered to him. I will take a Piece of bread, I am going to dip it in the stew, I am going to Put it into the mouth of the Traitor.

… Jesus Christ wasn’t shouting – It was discussions between two (2) friends.

It will interest you to know that the Bible says in Revelation 2:7 – He (Jesus Christ) said: He who has ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church.

That means that not everybody has hearing ears.

The Bible says that when God wants to speak to His Prophets; He speaks in “Small Still Voice” – Others won’t hear!

Is it not therefore surprising that the Last Book of the Bible – The Book that contains details of things that will happened in the Last Days; has been reserved for only one Person (John the Beloveth in Revelation 1: 1-7).

When you get sufficiently close to God; God will begin to whisper things to you that if you announce it; People will not even believe you.

I could still remember the surprise on the faces of my People in that Holy Ghost Service (HGS) in June of a Particular Year (DMC NOTES: Year 1998).

When we came for the Holy Ghost Service (HGS) and I said to everybody: Hey, shake hands with one (1) or two (2) People and say “Happy New Year”.

“Happy New Year” in June? What does that mean? In June?

Fortunately, they trusted me enough to be able to say okay, if he say so – “Happy New Year”.

By the following Monday; we knew what God was talking about – The History of Nigeria has not been the same since then.

Now, there is one important Point here – If God ever takes you to that Level of Intimacy with Him; if you can begin to hear the Inaudible; you will begin very soon to do the Impossible – That is very important!

You can read 2 Samuel 6: 8-23 – You know the Story.

One King wanted to capture the King of Israel. And as he is holding his Meeting; Elisha will stay in his room and hear everything.

It wasn’t long after that, that the King said: Go and get him.

And a Whole Army cane and Elisha arrested them and led them to the Enemies Territory.

If you can begin to hear that “Still Small Voice” of God; soon you will begin to do the Impossible!

Let me close today by saying:

To really become a Prophet (True Prophet); you will need a Piece of Fire.

Isaiah 6: 1-8; Isaiah said that in that Year that King Uzziah died; I saw the Invincible – I saw the King of Kings, I saw Him lifted High, His Train filled the Temple. And then I take a look at myself and I saw how dirty I had been.

Oh, he has been Prophesying before then – He was the one who said: Say ye to the Righteous, it shall be well with him.

… He was Prophesying!

But after, he said: My lips are Unclean

You can be Prophesying with Unclean Lips!

But if you are going to be a “Real Prophet”; your Lips must be Clean!

… And it has to be cleansed by Fire!

It is only then that God said to him: Who shall I send? Who will go for me?

And he said: Ha, I am here Lord; send me!

When you considered how many Books, how many Chapters of Prophesies that Isaiah gave after that taste of Fire; you will appreciate and see the difference between a Ministry of a Prophet and someone who can just Prophesy!

So, the Message of today is only for those who really wants to go really, really deep – There is a God who can answer by Fire because He Himself is Fire. And your lips might need a little kiss of Fire!

But if this is for those who are already Children of God; what about those who are yet to be Children of God?

I said it earlier: The Fire of God discriminates between those who are His Own and those who are not His Own.

Those who went to throw Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego into the fire; fire burnt them. Whereas His Children walked out of the fire Purer than ever before.

As a matter of fact; they came out of the fire to be Promoted.

So, the Choice is yours!

Do you want the Fire of God to consume you or you want the Fire of God to Purify you?

The difference is between: Are you a Child of God or are you not?

And whether we like it or not; Fire is coming.

Whenever the Fire comes; it will Purify God’s Own People and consume those who are not His Own.

ALTAR CALL

So, if you want to escape the Fire of the Judgement of God; come to Him today – Surrender your Life right now.

And if you are near an Altar; rush to the Altar now.

If you are sitting down in your home; this is a moment when you must really, really make up your Mind – If the Fire of God falls, I want it to Purify me and not to consume me.

If you don’t want the Fire of God to consume you; cry to Jesus Christ for Salvation now and He will save your Soul.

Let Us Pray!

If you want to surrender your Life to God; Call on Him and say: Lord Jesus Christ, have Mercy on me, save my Soul, let Your Blood wash away my sins; I want to be a Member of Your Family so that when Your Fire falls, it will Purify me and not consume me.

And those of us who are already Children of the Living God, I hope you will be able to cry to God and say: Holy Ghost Fire fall on me as of the Day of Pentecost; Fire fall on me.

Let Us Pray!

PRAYER FOR SALVATION AND CLOSING PRAYER

My Father and my God, I want to bless Your Holy Name for Your Words again.

Thank You for all those who are surrendering their lives to You now.

Please receive them, save their Souls, let Your Blood wash away their sins. Please Lord receive them into the Family of God so that when the Fire of God falls, it will only Purify them and not consume them.

And for those who are already Your Children; like never before, let the Holy Ghost Fire fall on each and everyone of them so that they can be Purified, so that they can come forth as Gold.

In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.

Praise the Lord – Hallelujah!

I want to rejoice with those of you who has given your Life to Jesus Christ today.

I want to assure you that by the Grace of God, I will keep on Praying for you.
