OPENING PRAYER
Father Almighty, we Thank You. We can never Thank You enough for the Salvation of our Souls.
Thank You for Preserving us, Thank You for Keeping us in Your Love, Thank You for all the Great Things You have done in the Past – You are the Almighty; when You Speak, it is done; when You Command Light to come out of Darkness, it came. There is No one like You, You are the Almighty. Accept our Thanks in Jesus Name.
Father, it is written in Your Words – He sent His Words and it healed them and delivered them from all their destructions.
Father, send Your Words again today, Heal the People, set the Captives Free, save Souls Lord and grant our Request.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen!
Praise the Lord – Hallelujah!
We are continuing with our Series – Going Higher and we are moving on to Part 42: Going Higher – Part 42.
And our Bible Text again will be 1 Kings 18: 42-44; but we may just take Verse 44 Only.
1 Kings 18:44 – And it came to Pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little Cloud out of the sea, like a Man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy Chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
Cloud like a fist, Cloud like the size of a Man’s hand came out of the Seventh (7th) Time when the Son of the Prophet went to check.
What Lessons are we to learn again from the fact that this Man had to Pray seven (7) times before he even saw a Small Cloud coming:
- We need to learn straightaway that you must not share your Testimony until it is Complete.
In 1 Kings 18:1; Elijah was told by God Himself – Show yourself to Ahab and I will send Rain.
He kept quiet about it – He showed himself to Ahab, there was a Competition, God won and then Elijah opened his mouth and said that I have heard the Sound of Abundance of Rain.
The first Contest was easy – It was easy because when he said that the God that answers by Fire, let him be God.
The Prophet of Baal said: Let us see what will happen – We will bring our “god”, you will try your “God”. Let us see the results.
Elijah didn’t say that let us have a Competition – I can assure you that my God will win.
No, he kept the whole thing open.
But this time after Satan lost the first battle, he announced what he heard – He should have kept his mouth shut until the Rain fell.
Ephesians 2:2 made it clear that the devil is the Prince of the Air.
… And Rain falls through the Sky.
This time, Elijah had announced that I will win the Second time and the devil said that we shall see.
In Daniel 10: 1-14; the Bible tells us that Daniel Prayed and Fasted for twenty one (21) days before his answer could come.
Why? – Because there was a Prince of the devil that blocked the answer for twenty one (21) days.
… Don’t share your Testimony until it is Complete.
That is why when Women come to our National Convention, trusting God for the Fruit of the Womb and we Pray and we know that God had heard.
And by the time they come the following Convention, they are already Pregnant. We don’t call Pregnant Women forward. We only call forward those whose children had arrived.
We tell those that are Pregnant – Yes we Prayed last Year, now God had answered and the Pregnancy is there; don’t come out yet. We can wait till next Year when you bring your Child and not your Pregnancy.
Many People had lost their Miracles because they spoke too soon – Don’t share your Testimony until it is Complete!
- But there are other “Much Bigger” Lessons to be learnt and this is that: You must not despise the days of Small Things.
In Zechariah 4:10; the Bible makes it clear: Don’t despise the day of Small Things because you don’t know where God is going.
In Job 8:7; it is written: Though your Beginning be small, your latter End should greatly Increase.
God Specialises in starting Small – The Smaller the Beginning, the Greater the Ending.
… That is the way of God!
Mark 4: 30-32 – God said the Mustard Seed is the smallest of all Seeds but the moment it is Planted, it will grow up and become the biggest of all trees. He said that the Kingdom of God is like that.
A. In Genesis 12: 1-3; the Nation of Israel started with one Man called Abram – His name later changed to Abraham.
God just Picked one Man and said alright, I am going to bless you and through thy Seed the whole Nation of the world will be blessed.
B. Years later, that one Man had become seventy (70) Souls in Egypt – Genesis 46:27.
C. But by the time they were leaving Egypt in Exodus 12:37; the number of Men alone was six hundred thousand (600,000).
By the time you count the Women and Children, you know that we will be talking about Millions.
… From one Man to seventy (70) Souls, to six hundred thousand (600,000) Plus Women and Children.
D. Today, according to Galatians 3:29; nobody can number the Seed of Abraham because it is not just the Nation of Israel now; it is the Nation of Israel Plus every Christians.
The Bible says that if you are of Christ, then you are of the Seed of Abraham!
Take the History of the Church for example:
A. In Mark 3: 13-14; Jesus Christ choose only twelve (12) Apostles.
B. And by the time He (Jesus Christ) left the day the Church was born in the Upper Room in Acts 2: 1-4; the Bible tells us that only one hundred and twenty (120) People were gathered there according to Acts 1:15.
C. But the very day that it (Church) was Launched, it grew from one hundred and twenty (120) to three thousand one hundred and twenty (3,120) – Acts 2:41 after one Sermon by their Senior Pastor, Peter.
D. The Church grew rapidly few days later after the Miracle of the Healing of the Lame Man – Peter Preached a Second Sermon and the Church grew to eight thousand, one hundred and twenty (8,120) according to Acts 4:4.
Now, that is not a “Small Growth” – You start with one hundred and twenty (120) Members and in less than one week, you had become eight thousand, one hundred and twenty (8,120) – Oh God, Please make us such Churches!
E. And then not too long after that according to Acts 5:14; the Church has grown so Mightily that they were not bothering to count anymore – They simply said Multitudes!
And we have with all Humility and Gratitude to God a Living Example:
A. The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) started with twelve (12) Members.
B. By the time my Father-In-The-Lord left in 1980, during the National Convention; the attendance was over six hundred (600) People – The Church had grown!
C. Today, by the Grace of God; the Mass Choir alone is more than six hundred (600) to put it mildly; not to talk of the Congregation.
And someone asked me: How many People attend the Convention?
I said that don’t let me deceive you, I don’t know the number.
Why don’t you take the Census? Why don’t you count?
How are we going to do so? – There are about twelve (12) Entries into the Auditorium. How many Ushers will do the counting?
And even while the Ushers are counting, there are some People in the Toilets, there are some People in the Prayer Room, there are some People at the Maternity Center.
… Let us just say: God has been Faithful!
God loves to start Small – This is to encourage Somebody today: They used to call us “The Church of where 2 or 3 are gathered together”.
My reply to them then was that – Little drops of water, little grains of sand make a Mighty Ocean and the Big Land!
Materially, God Specialises in starting Small:
A. In 1 Kings 17: 8-16; the Widow of Zarephath had only one Meal.
God grabbed that “Little Meal” and kept on multiplying it to feed the Widow, the Son and the Prophet of God for three (3) Years.
… That is not a Bad Multiplication!
B. In 2 Kings 4: 1-7; the Widow of another Prophet was Destitute – The only thing that she has was a little bottle of oil – That is how she started.
By the time God finished with her, she had Paid all her debts and had enough money to live on for the rest of her Life.
I’m saying this one to encourage those of you who are starting Small; in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ, you are not going to end small (Amen) because God Specialises in starting Small!
C. In John 6: 5-13; the Bible tells us that Jesus Christ wanted to feed a crowd and all that was available to Him was the lunch of a boy – 5 little loaves of bread and 2 little fishes as the Bible call them.
And with that in the Hand of the Almighty God; five thousand (5,000) Men were fed and there was leftover of twelve (12) Extra Baskets.
That is an important Lesson to learn – That you may be little but if you put that little in the Hand of God, He has a way of Multiplying the Cloud that is like the fist of a Man till it will become a Mighty Rain!
- But there is another Lesson to learn and that is: You must beware of “Little Foxes”.
In Songs of Solomon 2:15; it says: Beware, little foxes can destroy the Vine.
Ecclesiastes 10:1 says: A little folly can destroy the reputation of a Man of Wisdom, of Honour.
Beware of little, little Problems, Harmful Habits – What you call little, little sins.
Ephesians 5: 25-27 made it clear – When Jesus Christ comes back, He is going to come back for a Bride without Spot, without Wrinkles, without Blemish.
No matter how small, be careful with those things you say: “Not Too Bad”.
If it is “Not Too Bad”; it is already Bad!
Kill your “Little Wrong Habits” before they become Big and they kill you
A. In John 12: 1-6; the Bible tells us that Judas Iscariot was a thief – He was the Treasurer and he was taking just a little at a time. He didn’t steal so much that the bag will become empty.
But even the Disciples knew that this Man was Pilfering (I think that is a Polite word for stealing little by little).
But gradually, that thing grew until he had an opportunity for the “Big One” in Matthew 26: 14-16.
He said that I don’t have to steal this one from the bag; I will get it directly from the Leader of the Church – All I have to do is to betray Jesus Christ.
He got the money but he never spent it – Matthew 27: 3-5.
Are you doing some little, little things contrary to the Will of God? – Beware!
B. I have told you before about the Anger of Moses.
Moses was a Man of Temper – In Exodus 2: 11-15, he was defending a Jew, an Israeli.
In defending, he doesn’t have to kill but he ran away but the devil took Note – This Great Man has only one little Problem (Temper!)
By the time we get to Numbers 11: 10-25; the Anger had grown to the Stage that he was even angry with God.
… God, what is Your Problem asking me to look after all these People. Am I their father? If You know that, if this is the way You will be treating me, You better take me away.
Ha, who was he (Moses) talking to? – He was talking to the Most High God.
… He got angry with God!
Little Habits if you don’t kill in time, they will kill you!
You know the rest of the Story – In Numbers 11:25; God said alright; don’t let us quarrel. If the load is “Too Heavy” for you; get me seventy (70) People to share the burden with you.
He brought in seventy (70) People – The Bible said that God took off some of his (Moses) Spirit and transferred them to the seventy (70).
… His Anointing became diffused!
It wasn’t long after that in Numbers 20: 1-12 that he blew up again and smote the Rock that God said: Speak to.
That was why he never made it to the Promised Land.
When a tank is leaking, it does so a drop at a time.
You fill the tank of your car in Lagos with enough fuel to take you all the way to Ilorin (In Kwara State).
As you drive along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the tank was leaking – Just one drop!
You are still cruising along, Pass Ibadan (In Oyo State); then you get into the Jungle between Ibadan and Ilorin and suddenly, the car stopped, you wondered what happened and Somebody tells you that there is no fuel in the car.
How can that be? It was full when I left Lagos?
C. You don’t believed me, ask Samson.
Read Judges 16: 4-21.
Jezebel leaked his tank – One drop after the other.
Let me Conclude:
Pay attention to Small Things – They makes all the difference between Succeeding and Failing!
If you have something Good that is working for you; Pay attention to it!
In Luke 12:32; it says: Fear Not little flocks because it is the Pleasure of the Father to give you the Kingdom.
Are you Pastoring a “Little Church”; it will become Great – Amen!
All those Places they called: Where 2 or 3 are gathered together years ago, many of them now are Regional Headquarters.
… They grew!
Pay attention to the “Small Good Things”; be careful of the “Small Bad Things”.
James 2:10 said clearly: If you keep all the Laws and you fail in one, then you have failed in all.
I gave an Example before – You are at a Conference and there was a Big Bucket of water that everybody is going to drink from.
And then a Woman had a baby that she was carrying and the baby defecated and she needed to rush out to go and clean up the baby.
On her way out, a little drop of the faeces from the baby falls into the bucket of water.
Will anybody drink that water again?
ALTAR CALL
That is why I’m calling on those of you who are still sinning – A little sin at a time, you better run to the Altar today or as you are reading now on the Label of DMC; and cry to God to Sanctify you Holy – Body, Soul and Spirit.
… Just a little bit of sin can block the way to Heaven Permanently for you.
Of course, those of you who are swimming in sin, you should be the first one at the Altar to come and cry to God for Salvation before the little Bad Thing would become the Big Thing and the Big Bad Thing can destroy.
Let Us Pray!
If you will want to surrender your Life to Jesus Christ, very very quickly: Bow your head and cry to Him for the Salvation of your Soul
And those of you who are still living in sin, run to Him now and tell Him that I don’t want any sin, no matter how small; I don’t want any Spot, any Blemish in my Life – Please Lord, make me one hundred Percent (100%) Clean.

PRAYER FOR SALVATION AND CLOSING PRAYER
My Father and my God, I want to Thank You once again for Your Words.
I want to Thank You of course there is no one like You – You have enough Power to save the whole world. Please, accept our Thanks in Jesus Name.
Every Sinners asking You for Salvation today, Father Please save their Souls, let Your Blood wash away their sins and Please write their names in the Book of Life.
Every Christians who are still indulging in some very small, small Harmful Habits, Please Lord stop them right now. Sanctify them Holy so that what they are calling “Not Too Bad” will not destroy them.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen!
Praise the Lord – Hallelujah!
I’m rejoicing again with those of you who has just given your Life to Jesus Christ.
