BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF HIS EXCELLENCY PASTOR (PROF) OLUYEMI OLULEKE OSINBAJO (GCON) – VICE PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA BY PASTOR IDOWU OLUSOLA ILUYOMADE (PIC, RCCG) CITY OF DAVID)
Praise the Lord Hallelujah!
You know, Daddy GO once Preached about Influence:
I. It is good to know that you can pick your Phone and call the Governor and he picks.
II. It is also good to know that we in The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) can pick up a Phone and call the Vice President of our Nation and he will pick the Phone.
I think it is something worthy of relishing!
And more importantly, our Vice President is a Pastor in The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). Not only in The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), he is a Pastor in “The Apapa Family”.
So, as he is going back to Abuja, we are following him – That is where we are going to have the Banquet!
People of God, we Thank God for the Life of our Vice President and his lovely Sweetheart – Pastor Dolly (Pastor (Mrs) Oludolapo Osinbajo – Nee Soyode).
And these are very busy times for him (The VP – Pastor (Prof) Yemi Osinbajo) and he could still find time to come. Even though he knows that he has no Choice as he has to put everything aside because this is his Church.
It gives me so much Pleasure to invite him to speak to us this morning.
Mr Governor (His Excellency Babajide Sanwoolu) gave a Parable as to be Supporting us to finish Strong and I know that Lagos State is Strong.
So now, when the Vice President of the whole Nation (Federal Republic of Nigeria) is speaking, he will first speak as a Pastor, then he will speak as our own Vice President.
How many of us can see the Glory ahead? Hallelujah!
Put your hands together as I invite to speak to us our very dear Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria – Pastor (Prof) Yemi Osinbajo (GCON)!

With God, all things are Possible – That is my first answer to our Pastor; Pastor Idowu Iluyomade.
The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), our father-in-the-Lord – Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye; our Mother-in-Israel and wife of The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) – Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye.
Excellency, The Governor of Lagos State – Mr Babajide Sanwoolu; Heads of Churches and Ministries Present; The National Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) – Pastor Sunday Akande; Assistant General Overseers (AGO’s) and Continental Overseers (CO’s) Present.

I was not Properly introduced by my Senior Pastor – Pastor Idowu Olusola Iluyomade. I am actually the Pastor-In-Charge of Province LP 48 – Just to be sure that I have not lost my Position. I just want to make that one very clear you know! God Bless You!
Everytime, everyday; Church History is being written – The History of the Church of Jesus Christ.
And today, I will just read to you in few Minutes where we are in the Segment of Church History very quickly.
Since the Year 1898 when Perhaps the Oldest Cathedral in the South West of Nigeria – The Cathedral Church of St. Peters Ake Abeokuta Ogun State was completed. That Church remained the first edifice of its kind until The Cathedral Church of Christ Marina Lagos State became the largest and best known Cathedral in Lagos. And its the Oldest Anglican Cathedral in the Church in Nigeria; built in the late 19th Century and it is one of the Oldest Anglican Church in Africa today.
DMC NOTES: The Cathedral Church of Christ Marina Lagos which happened to be an Anglican Church Cathedral was completed in 1946
Infact in the Year 1977, the Relics of Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther – A Pioneer enslaved Yoruba man, who later became the First African Bishop in an African Church was translated to the Cathedral and there was a Cenotaph erected as a Memorial for him.
DMC NOTES: A Cenotaph is a tomb or a monument erected in honor of a Person or group of Persons whose remains are elsewhere.
The Church was built by Reverend Andrew Desalu Wilhelm years after the Mission of Reverend Henry Townsend to site a Worship Cathedral and also a Meeting Place for the African Missionaries of their time
DMC NOTES: Some background Check on REVEREND ANDREW DESALU WILHELM and REVEREND HENRY TOWNSEND:
When British Reverend, Henry Townsend (1815 – 1886) who was an Anglican Missionary and Ordained in England in the Year 1842, came to Abeokuta via Agbadarigi (now Badagry) route from England in 1842, he was received by an Egba Warrior, Chief Sodeke, there was Nobody to interprete English Language to Yoruba Language for the Egbas except a Teacher, Catechist and Evangelist, Andrew Desalu Wilhelm who had been educated by the British.
Andrew Desalu Wilhelm was an Egba man who was captured with many others as Slaves by British Colonial Masters. He was later freed but re-settled in Sierra Leone.
Desalu was an Evangelist and Catechist who Preached the Christianity Gospel across the dusty Streets of the Egba Ancient City.
It was reported that he was born in 1820 but died in 1866. He was the rally Point for all freed Slaves who came to Abeokuta as he built Missionary Quarters named as Wasinmi (Come and Rest) in Ake, Abeokuta. They all lived in the Quarters which gave the area the name till today, WA SIN MI – WASINMI!
Henry Townsend returned to England for Church Ordination, Andrew Desalu Wilhelm stayed and served as a Catechist and Evangelist till 1846 when Townsend came back.
Andrew Desalu erected a shed for Christian Worship and Church Service at Ake, the Foundation of the Present Cathedral of Church of Saint Peter, Ake was also laid by him in 1846, four years after he started the Gospel.
The Church was completed after his death, 52 years after the Foundation had been laid, exactly on 6th of September, 1898.
Today, we thank God for this Historic moment also in Church History!
When the Temple of Solomon was built, it was recorded and we were told of the Magnificence of its Gold Pillars and its Extravagant Courtyard. And the Story of how the Temple of Solomon was built, we were told in details of every Parts of the Outstanding way in which Solomon built that Temple.
When the Story of The Trinity Towers is written; Someone will say that this will be recorded in History:
That Pastor Eskor Mfon has the Vision, the Lord blessed that Vision but he Passed on before he could break ground.
But the Lord ensured that his son – Idowu Iluyomade broke the ground and completed the first of its kind edifice in Sub Sahara Africa and Africa’s Richest City, Lagos State.
DMC NOTES: Pastor Eskor Mfon (1953 to 2007), was the former Provincial Pastor of RCCG Lagos Province 4 and former Pastor of RCCG City of David, VI, Lagos who served after Pastor Tony Rapu as the Head of The RCCG Apapa Family and before the current Pastor – Pastor Idowu Olusola Iluyomade. In RCCG City of David, he was a father to many, a Mentor Per Excellence and a Field Marshal in the God’s Army. He will Particularly be remebered by his Achievements in transforming City of David from Nothingness to the Level it is today.
… I’m just telling you how History will be written.
It covers one of the largest floors of any Building in the Nation, it has fourteen (14) Lifts and Escalators – More Lifts and Escalators than many other ‘Big Buildings’ put together.
On the 12th Day of February in the Year of the Lord 2023, and in the day of Social Responsibility of the Church: Feeding the Poor, Building Schools, Building of Hospitals; all for those who cannot afford it to use them.
The Story will end by saying that: When the General Overseer – Pastor E.A Adeboye arrived; he arrived no longer from “The Redemption City” but from “The Redemption Nation”. The “City” has been taken over by his son – Pastor Idowu Olusola Iluyomade.
From now on; as we write the History; we will rename “The Redemption City” as “The Redemption Nation”.
We Pray that this edifice that the Lord has built – Because indeed, the Word of God says that: Except the Lord builds the House, the Builders build in vain.
With everything that has been done; it is evident that it is the Lord that has put this together and built this edifice.
So, we thank the Almighty God for this Building and we Pray that this Building will only be the first of this kind of “Historic Buildings” that will be built as Temples – Birth for the Service and Worship of God and for the Service of Humanity.
I Pray that this will be the first of the “Very Many” that will be built – Not just by The RCCG City of David but all the sons of Pastor E.A Adeboye and all those who believed that the Gospel of Jesus Christ must be Spread across this Nations and across the world.
As for the “Small Matter” of what the Federal Government will do – As I say: It is a “Small Matter” because it is the Lord who builds.
I have to talk to Pastor Iluyomade “Very Privately” on this Issue – And he knows that generally speaking, I keep my words.
