SESSION TOPIC: WHEN WATCHMEN ARE ASLEEP

BIBLE TEXT: JEREMIAH 1:10
If you know that God is the One backing you – He is your Strength, Maker, Life and Promoter, I like you to lift your hands to Him and begin to Worship Him this Morning.
Come on, go ahead and give Him Praise because the Bible says: Enter into His Gate with Thanksgiving in your Heart,
Psalm 100: 3-4 says: Enter into His Gate with Thanksgiving.
I like you to enter this Morning as you lift your hands to Him – Just go ahead and Worship Him.
Thanksgiving is the Password to enter into His Presence.
The Message Translation of Psalm 100:4 says that: Enter with Password: ‘Thank You’.
I want you to stay “I am Thankful” – Lord, Thank You for the Gift of Life as I am so Grateful.
Blessed be Your Name.
In Jesus Precious Name we have Prayed – Amen.
Before I Proceed, I want to appreciate the Almighty God for this Great Privilege to be Standing before this Awesome Wonderful, Anointed, Appointed and Powerful People of God.
Please help me Celebrate yourself.
I want to appreciate our Parents-In-The-Lord – My Daddy and Mummy; Daddy and Mummy GO. I want to Thank God for their lives.
We are Standing on this Platform – This is a Platform of their Years of Sacrifice and Years of Labour. That is what created this Platform and you can’t take that lightly.
Please help me Celebrate the Grace of God upon their lives for creating this Platform for all the Young People in The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) to be able to Stand and for the whole world to hear us.
We Pray that the Lord will keep them and the Lord will Strengthen them in the Name of Jesus.
Their Strength will never fail in the Mjghty Name of Jesus – Amen.
I want to also appreciate the Privilege to Stand given to us by our Leader – The Special Assistant to the General Overseer (SATGO) on Youth Affairs and our Beloved Mummy also.
Please help me Celebrate Pastor and Pastor (Mrs) Sola Olukoya – Thank You so much for this Great Privilege.
I just told him a while ago that if your Oga come to speak before you, then you are in trouble – My legs are shaking now that what will I say after our Boss has spoken.
But I believed God that with your Prayers and the Help of the Holy Spirit, I will be able to repeat some of the things he has said and then I will be able to say one (1) or two (2) things in this Plenary Session
This Morning, we will read some Scriptures and Pray with it:
I will like you to hold the hands of Somebody and Agree with the Person in Prayer – There is Power in Corporate Prayers.
The Bible says that if any two shall agree on Earth on anything, it shall be given unto you (DMC NOTES: Matthew 18:19).
PRAYER NO 1:
Job 38:17, the Bible says that: Have the Gates of Death been opened unto thee? Or hast thou seen the Doors of the Shadow of Death.
God has given us the Privilege to Stand as Gate Protector.
Gates are Access Points – You can choose to open the Gate or choose to lock it.
We are in the Auditorium because the Gates of Redemption City was opened to us – If they shut the Gates, we can’t come in.
The first thing that I want you to do is to shut the Gate against untimely Death for that Person that you are holding.
You will say: Father, any Gate of untimely Death opened to this my Brother/Sister, I Command it to be shut in the Name of Jesus.
Every Gate that leads to untimely Death – You are a Child of Destiny and you will fulfill Destiny.
I Stand Today as a Gate Protector and shut the Gate in the Name of Jesus – You will not die before your Time.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.
Lift up your Right Hand and say: My Father, my Father; I declare Today that I will not enter the Gate of Death.
Every Gate of Death and Destruction opened to me; I Command them to be shut.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.
PRAYER POINT NO 2:
Psalm 118:19, the Bible says: Open to me the Gates of Righteousness so that I can enter and go and Worship God.
There is so much unrighteousness in our Nation but God is looking for People that will enter and will Stand for Jesus and say No, I can’t Compromise – I want to enter Gates of Righteousness and I want to Stand for Jesus.
You will say: Father, by Your Grace and Mercy, let this Brother/Sister enter the Gate of Righteousness.
Suddenly as the Scriptures say in Hebrews 1:9; you will love Righteousness and hate Iniquity.
You will say: Father, I Pray for this Brother/Sister; I Push you into the Gate of Righteousness – Enter into the Gate of Righteousness and you will no longer Compromise after this RCCG IYC 2025.
In Jesus Mighty Name we have Prayed – Amen.
Repeat that Prayer for yourself and say: Father, I enter the Gate of Righteousness – No matter the Pressure, I will Stand for You Lord as I receive the Grace to enter the Gate of Righteousness.

OPENING PRAYER
Faithful Father, we Thank You for the Privilege to be Gathered in Your Presence:
Gathered to be Imparted by Your Spirit:
Gathered for You to breathe on us.
Gathered to Worship You.
Gathered to receive Grace in Your Presence.
Lord I ask that I will not Stand here as an Orator but I will Stand as Your Oracle to declare Your Total Counsel.
And Lord, let the Entrance of Your Word bring Light and Understanding to the Simple.
That Man will not be seen but only You will be seen.
And all the Glory will be Yours.

I have been asked to speak on: “WHEN WATCHMEN ARE ASLEEP”.
Who are Watchmen?
Jeremiah 1:10, the Bible says: See, I have this day set thee over the Nations and over the Kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to Plant.
So Watchmen and Watchwomen are Gate Protectors set over Territories to Protect and Preserve families, Nations and the Maarketplzce from Spiritual Threats from attack, from enemy invasion and from decadence.
So in essence Watchmen are Gate Protectors.
Who are they?
For the Purpose of Simplicity and Understanding, let us look at the Protector as an Acronym:
- The Letter “P” in the Protector tells us that Watchmen are Passionate and Purposeful Individuals like David.
Psalm 42:1 says as the deer pants after the water brooks, so my Soul longeth after thee Oh God.
Psalm 132: 1-5 David said that I will not go to Your House (Tabernacle), I will not go after Pleasure until I find out a Place for the Lord.
As a matter of fact, Apostle Paul is another Gate Protector or Watchman.
He said to us in Romans 8:35 – He said that what shall separate me from the Love of God?
- The Letter “R” in the Protector stands for Ready – They are ready to go.
Isaiah 6:8, God did an Advert on the Internet – Who shall go for us? Who shall we send?
We need Gate Keepers in India, we need Gate Keepers in Hong Kong, we need Gate Keepers in China.
And a Gate Protector said: Here I am send me.
Gate Protector are willing to go – They are not just getting ready but they are already ready.
Matthew 28:19 says: Go ye therefore into the world.
In a world where Men had become Selective – We select where we want to go; Watchmen are ready to go anywhere.
- The Letter “O” in the Protector tells us that they are Obedient.
Ecclesiastes 12:13, the Bible says: Let us hear the Conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His Commandments for this is the whole duty of Man.
- The Letter “T” in the Protector stands for Train.
Psalm 144: 1-2 says that God has trained my hands to fight and my fingers to work.
And I believed that this is Part of what we have come to do – As a Gate Protector; we are to be Trained.
It is God that trains us – So the Question is: Have you been to the School of God’s Training.
You want to reign without being Trained? How?
What guarantees your Training is your Level of Training.
There is a School of Training – Don’t jump before your Time or else you will jump into the Pit.
David was trained in the Wilderness – He didn’t just appeared to face Goliath but he first faced a Lion and a Bear. He was well trained.
- The Letter “E” in the Protector stands for Empowered with the Holy Ghost.
Acts 1:8 – And you shall receive Power after the Holy Ghost is come upon you.
Luke 24:45(b) says: But tarry ye in the City of Jerusalem and be endued with Power on High.
You can’t carry anything tangible until you tarry.
You can’t carry what your Generation needs until you learn to tarry.
- The Letter “C” in the Protector tells us that a Watchman is Courageous – They are ready to face the Lion.
David was Courageous – How can a small boy face a Goliath?
A Gate Protector is daring.
Joshua 1:6 says: Be Strong and be very Courageous.
- The next Letter “T” in the Protector stands for Someone that can be Trusted.
Until you are Tested, you cannot be Trusted.
☆ Can you be trusted with Position?
☆ Can you be trusted with the Gate?
☆ Can you be trusted with the Gate of Governance and Politics?
If God allows you to become a Local Government Chairman of your Local Government, will the Government still be Local?
The Bible says in Psalm 12:1-8 that he that is unfaithful in little things; who will commit Great Things to you?
2 Kings 22:7, the Bible says that even in some Projects in the Church, they commit some things to some Men (Gate Protector) and the Bible says that they do not need to give Account.
God is looking for those that we can Trust with the Gates so that they can Protect them and not Compromise.
In our Place sometimes when you give a Gateman an Instruction and ask them not to allow anyone in; but if you can decode the Price Tag on the Integrity of the Gateman and Pay it; you will enter.
The Question is: Can God Trust you?
- The next Letter “O” in the Protector means to Occupy – Those that will Stand at their Duty Post.
Luke 13:19 – Occuoy till I come.
When He comes, will He find you Occupying? Or you have gone astry.
- The next Letter “R” in the Protector stands for Rugged and Resilient.
2 Timothy 2:3 says: Endure Hardness and endure Hardship.
During the Last Convention (RCCG 73rd Annual Convention 2025); many People left their Cities and are only concerned with the fact that: If only I can get to the Redemption City, I will be fine. Some of them Sleep in this Auditorium for five (5) to seven (7) days,
A Good Soldier must be Rugged.
From the First time I attended Convention in RCCG since 1997; by the Grace if God I have never failed to attend any Convention since then.
Those days, you just create a Mini-Flat or One-Room Self Contain with no complaint.
You ate just enjoying yourself because all we are interested in is what God has Prepared for us to come and get.
We don’t come to Camp for Pleasure but to collect Power.
And there is a Price before the Prize!
Let us begin to gradually go to the Main thing of this Teaching – When Watchmen are Asleep?
When these Passionate People, when this Readily Available and Obedient People suddenly begin to Sleep?
What are the Symptoms of Spiritual Slumber?
There are Symptoms for Fever, there are Symptoms for Malaria and so there are Symptoms for Spiritual Slumber.
These Signs are Closely stated in Isaiah 56: 9-11:
- All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all ye beasts in the forest.
- His Watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
- Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
What do you begin to Notice in your Life that will begin to tell you: Brother/Sister, you are already Sleeping:
- When your Vision suddenly begin to go dim.
You thought that you used to have clear Vision suddenly it begins to go dim:
☆ From seeing Nations, you are now seeing Cities.
☆ From seeing Cities, you are now seeing Metropolis.
☆ And from there, you are now seeing your Streets.
☆ And finally, you are now only seeing yourself.
The worst Part is that the Lowest Level of Vision is the Vision that sees just yourself.
Brethren, Vision is a Picture of the Future.
A Future you cannot Picture, is a Future you cannot venture to Capture.
Until you can Picture it, you cannot Capture it.
And I add this to it: Every Future that you see that is not Structured inside the Scripture will eventually rupture.
The Bible says that the Watchmen are sleeping because they are blind.
Jeremiah 1:11, God asked Jeremiah – Jeremiah, what do you see?
I ask you Today: Brother Deacon, what do you see? Bro Pastor, what do you see? Young Man, what do you see?
He said: I saw a rod of Almond Tree.
David told us what a rod is meant for?
He says the rod is for Correction and the Staff is for Direction (DMC NOTES: Psalm 23:4).
Can you still see the rod that God is lifting?
The rod is correct our Generation as Gate Protector from decadence.
Can you imagine that you employ a Blind man as your Gate Man?
Can you imagine that Somebody is your Gate Man and he cannot see?
That is a disaster on arrival.
So if anybody wants to enter to pick your goods, he can’t see, he can’t help you and he can’t even help himself – That is the State when we have Watchmen Sleeping and are Blind.
And for some, it starts with no New Vision.
That is why a Pastor can Preach one Message one hundred times.
Our father-in-the-Lord, we can’t exhaust him because he is a Watchman Standing fully awake and Vision clear.
As we are now by 3km by 3km Auditorium; Daddy GO says that I see an Auditorium the size of Ibadan City.
Joel 2:28 – I will pour my Spirit upon all flesh. He said that your Old Men will dream Dreams and your Young Men see Visions.
But now, even the Old Men are seeing Visions and it is the Young Men Dreaming.
If Daddy GO is seeing the size of Ibadan as Auditorium, imagine that we stand on his Shoulder, then we will see the Nations.
We are not willing to climb his Shoulders but we are willing to collect what is in his hands.
If you are Standing by your father who is taller than you and you want to see the Nations. And if you don’t beg him to carry you on his Shoulder then you can’t see far.
And so as we are around him, what we are looking at?
It is the car key in his hands – I want to ride a car.
It is the ATM Card in his hands – Daddy, we want to collect Money and we need biscuits.
Instead for us to say: Daddy, Please put us on your Shoulder so that what you are seeing, we can see further.
- When you are no more Vigilant, alert and become Spiritually Complacent – No more sensitive in the Spirit.
Amos 6:1 says: Woe to them that are at ease in Zion; who has become so relaxed.
1 Peter 5:8 – Be alert, be Vigilant because your Adversary the devil.
Hosea 13:13 in the Message Translation; it says: Look at Ephraim, he has become so Complacent.
Hosea 13:13 (Message Translation): When birth pangs signaled it was time to be born, Ephraim was too stupid to come out of the womb. When the Passage into life opened up, he didn’t show.
- When you become Ignorant of the move of God Per Time.
1 Chronicles 12:32; the Bible tells us about the sons of Issachar – It says that these are Young Guys that have Understanding of Times and they Understood what Israel want to do.
They are not just living by what God has said but operating by what God is saying.
Hosea 4:6 says: My People Perish because they are still with the Old Syllabus.
There is a New Syllabus in Town.
- When you can no longer act as Watch dogs.
They will not just bark but when they see an Intruder, they bark to scare away the Intruder.
But imagine that you have Boerboel dog, or a Rottweiler dog in your house and the Armed Robbers came and it begins to wag his tails to overcome them; then you know that you are in serious trouble.
You should know that you have started Sleeping as a Watchman when you can no longer speak the Truth – Stand for the Truth.
Ephesians 5:11 says: Have no Fellowship with the u Unfruitful works of Darkness but reproof.
All over Social Media, we see Keyboard Warriors saying all manners of things but Watchmen are Silent and we are not hearing their voice.
The Spiritual Watchdog, we can’t hear their barking and we can’t hear them speak to Uphold the tenets of our Faith.
God is looking for Watchdogs that can still bark.
When you are a Watchdog – God had fed you and invested in you but we can’t hear your Voice. It is a Sign that you are already Sleeping.
Even in little things in your Office, they will be talking about Pastors using them as a Chewing Stick.
People will Stand and talk against your father – No!
But God is raising Watchmen and Gate Protector that will Stand by the Gate to speak for Jesus – No, you can’t talk down on Jesus like that.
- When you gradually become Self Centered as against God Centered.
Even John told us in John 3:30 – He says that I must decrease and He must Increase.
But you know that there is already a Problem with you when all that you are Interested in is for you to Increase while the God in you Decrease.
Galatians 2:20, Paul says that I am crucified (Meaning I am no longer to be seen) but the Life that I live now, I live after the Son of God.
Sign of Spiritual Slumber is when it is you that we are seeing and no longer seeing Jesus Christ.
☆ Anything that will not bring Glory to you, you will never do.
☆ Anything that will not Project your name, you will never get yourself involved with it.
☆ Any Money that they won’t announce your name, you will never give it.
☆ Any Project that they won’t put your Signature under it, you will never embark on it.
Then you are no longer Faithful but have become Facebook as you want your face to be seen.
David was a Watchman in the Wilderness – Nobody knew him.
Even when the Prophet came, he was not invited but just found singing Hymns – Watching and Standing Faithfully at the Backside.
And at the right time, God announced him.
I told Someone recently – What did David do to be invited by the Prophet?
He didn’t lobby the Prophet and he didn’t lobby anybody but God just said to the Man of God that there is a Faithful one and so asked the father that is this all thy sons?
He said that there is still one more but we can’t reckon with him,
Listen, it doesn’t matter how long many People didn’t reckon with you, let God reckon with you – One with God will become a Majority in a matter of time.
You know that when we give our lives to Christ, it deals with two (2) things – Sin and Self.
Sin will be nailed to the Cross and Self will die daily.
Apostle Paul said that I die daily – That is when you bring yourself down.
The Scriptures says that these Watchmen are Greedy – Any Service that they will render and not being Paid, they won’t render it.
When you see that anything that you want to do for God, the first thing that comes to your Mind is: What is in it for me? You are already Slumbering.
Revelation 2:4, Jesus Christ said that I have one thing against you; you left your first Love.
When you discovered that the way you are Passionate about the things of God has gone down, it is a Sign of Spiritual Slumber.
2 Timothy 4:10 says: Demas having love this Present world has forsaken me.
- When you begin to Compromise your Spiritual Value and Godly Standard.
Suddenly the things that you will never do or think doing; gradually you begin to allow saying that it doesn’t really matter.
You will say that it is not “Too Bad” even though it is already “Bad”.
The things that you never would have done on a Good Day.
Holiness Brother that cannot give a Fronter hug to a Sister – You did not only give hug now but add some kisses.
It is a Sign that you have began to Sleep.
But Thank God for the Word of God – 2 Timothy 2:19; the Bible says that the Foundation of the Lord Standeth Sure having this Seal, the Lord knows those who are His, let everyone that nameth the Name of the Lord depart from sin.
When you begin to Compromise your Standard – Things that you will not do on a Good Day, it is a Symptom of Spiritual Slumber!
- When there is no more Fire on your Altar and all that you see is just Ashes.
The Fire that you see ten (10) years, what is left on it now is ashes and no more fire – It is a Sign.
I. Prayer is now an Herculean Task – To Pray is a Struggle.
II. To Fast is a Struggle.
You that you used to declare three (3) or seven (7) days Fasting before Programs; even inside Service you are eating biscuits – It is a Sign that you are Sleeping.
III. To Study Bible is a Challenge.
Before when you open the Bible, you get Revelations.
It is one thing to open the Bible, it is another thing for Bible to open to you.
But today, you open the Bible and you are reading it like Newspaper – The Bible does not open to you again.
It is a Sign that there is no more Fire and no more Revelation.
IV. You that used to invite People but they are now inviting you to come to Church – It is a Sign that you are already Sleeping.
V. You that used to encourage others, you are now the one that they are encouraging – It is a Sign that you are Sleeping.
But if I Pray for Somebody here Today or reading now on the Label of DMC: The Fire of God will revive you Today in the Name of Jesus – Amen!
DANGERS OF SLUMBER
- When you Sleep, you are Prone to Enemies Invasion.
Matthew 13:25, the Bible says when Men Slept, the Enemies came and sown tares.
Enemy won’t come and Plant evil in your Community/Family as a Watchman when you are awake. But when you are Sleeping, they will sneak in and invade your Territory.
How can you be in a Family and Godly Standard iis not being established? People are dying and things are happening?
How can you be in a Community and not Stand as a Gate Protector?
- There will be lost of Life and Property.
The Gate that you are Protecting, they will not just invade it but they will steal Property.
Remember the Story of that woman in 1 Kings Chapter 3 (Those two Harlots) – She said that while I was Sleeping, this other woman came to carry my Child.
Can I quickly Pray for Somebody here Today or reading now on the Label of DMC: Everything that the Enemies has Stolen, the Mercy of God will restore them back to you – Amen.
Your Fire that is Stolen, Mercy will restore it back to you – Amen.
Your Stolen Revelation, Mercy will restore it back to you – Amen.
- There will be Destruction.
John 10:10, the Bible says: The Thief cometh not but to Steal, to Kill and to Destroy.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
As a Watchman that is Sleeping, is there still Hope? Yes there is still Hope.
Job 14:7 says: There is Hope for a tree.
There is Hope and that is why you are here, hear my Voice and reading now on the Label of DMC!
So that when Daddy GO comes up and other Anointed Men of God; then you can be revived again.
There is still Hope even though you are already fast asleep:
- To be Fired Up again.
- To be Revived again.
- To be able to take your Position as a Gate Protector.
So what do I need to do?
- Wake Up and Repent.
Ephesians 5:14 says: Arise thou that Sleepest.
Acts 3:19 says: Repent and be Converted so that the Time of Refreshing will come from the Presence of the Lord.
So the first thing to do is to Wake Up.
Say: Lord I am sorry. I realised this Morning that I am Sleeping, Lord have Mercy as I have come with a Heart of Repentance.
Proverbs 28:13 says: He that covered his sin the Bible says shall not Prosper but he that repent and forsake shall obtain Mercy.
I Prophesy that in this Convention that you will find the Mercy of God – Amen.
- As you Wake Up, go for Fresh Armour and put on the whole Armour of God.
There are Weapons that you need as a Gate Protector.
Ephesians 6:11-18:
- Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
- For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
- Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
- Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
- And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
- Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
- And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
- Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.
David has his own – It was a Sling.
And among the many Weapons that you need is:
I. The Word of God.
God says in Hebrewaps 4:12 that: My Word is Powerful and Sharper than two Edged Sword.
Jeremiah 23:29 says: Is not my Word like Fire? Is it not like Hammer?
The Word of God is a Spiritual Weapon – Go for it.
II. You need Prayer.
Luke 18:1 – Men always ought to Pray and not Faint.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 – Pray without Ceasing.
III. You need Fasting.
You can’t be in RCCG and not Fast – Who is your father?
You can’t be under this our father and be a feather that they will just be throwing up and down – You will carry weight.
Matthew 28:7 – But this kind cannot get out except by Prayer and Fasting.
IV. Holiness is a Weapon.
1 John 5:14 – He that is born of God keepeth himself and the wicked one toucheth him not.
- Keep the Fire Burning.
Please in everything that you need to do everyday, add a little fuel.
If you miss adding fuel in any day, you risk the danger of the Fire going out.
Read Leviticus 12: 6 & 13.
I. It may be 30 Minutes Speaking in Tongues – That is the fuel.
II. It may be 1 Hour Studying the Word of God – That I’d the fuel.
Keep the Fire Burning!
Shall we bow our Head!
ALTAR CALL FOR REVIVAL
You are here this Morning and you just know that I am already Sleeping.
This is not a Call for Salvation – Our Leader (DMC NOTES: SATGO Youth Affaris and PICR Region 65, Pastor Sola Olukoya) has called for Repentance in Plenary Session 1.
I am calling you to be refired.
You want God to wake you up – Lord, I am Sleeping.
You know that you are far asleep Spiritually – You have fallen into sin and doing things that you don’t imagine.
Say: Lord, I need Revival.
So, I am calling them so that they can be Repositioned as Watchmen and Gate Protectors.
Anywhere you are and you want God to revive you; Please come quickly to this Altar and cry to God.

We don’t want to go back home the same way – We want our lives to be Transformed, Transfigured and Experience a New Dimension of Your Power and Your Fire.
If we are Sleeping, we can’t Experience it – Lord, awake us with Your Fire in the Name of Jesus.
Where the Fire has gone down, Father this Morning let the Fire fall again.
Upon our Destiny, let Your Fire fall again.
We Trust You that we have not come to meet Man but to encounter You – Lord, in every areas of our lives, every Spirit of Slumbering, we cast it out of our lives in the Name of Jesus.
Every Spirit that will make us a Lukewarm Christian or Believer as Gate Protectord; we cast it out in the Name of Jesus.
We receive Fresh Fire upon our Altars, Destinies, and our Going Out and Coming In.

Lord, Thank You for this Fresh moment:
As Your Fire comes upon us, our Destinies will Experience a Turnaround in the Name of Jesus.
